The Hatchig has begun! Come get your eggs! And what is a Green to do when she's stuck watching over hardenning eggs? She had laid the seven eggs exactly when she had been scheduled to do so. HerK'riv had found her wrapped in a fallen wherhide jacket at the bottom of a closet. He'd woken her up when that light had fallen on her, and when he had let that cold air in. Before, it had been nice and cozy and warm. After a long scold, she'd primly flew off, leaving her clutch of 6 eggs as unprotected as ever. Just like any green. K'riv, of course, had carefully taken the soft eggs and placed them into a corner of the Hatching Grounds where they wouldn't be trampled and destroyed, then went in search of the Weyrwoman, who had come and counted them and checked to make sure they were all okay, with Kara not far away, returned after she'd eaten a piece of stolen meat. As soon as Faizah had backed off a little, she had come once more, wound herself around her eggs, and promtly went back to sleep. Now, they were harder, but it would be a while yet before they hatched. The sooner the better. She couldn't understand how Golds seemed to be so protective and motherly over their unhatched eggs. It was unnerving if anything. After weeks, they were finally hard enough. Numbers had been painted on their mottled shells in green, and they would hatch anyday now. And that "anyday" was today. Kara began humming lightly, eyes whirling as the eggs began to rock slowly. _____________________________________________________ K'riv, wasn't very far away, oiling Molth as the brown hummed with thanks as the soothing stuff spread across his hide. Almost immediately, K'riv noticed the flow of scenes from Kara were those of her clutch. He remembered what that meant. They were hatching. Hatching!

[OOC: Just wondering what time of day the hatching is supposed to be. And I'm assuming that K'riv has yet to arrive in the Sands and that he is on his way. However, do correct me if I'm wrong. Oh and Seichou will try to send an image to K'riv about Lesla bringing the bowls of meat to the Hatching Grounds.]
Guin Having been rescued from that big storm some months ago, Guin has taken to the life inside the Weyr. Living inside the mountain enabled Guin to still be up and about even during daytimes. However, Guin didn't know that he has been up even during daytimes since he couldn't see that the sun was still up when he was up and about doing chores and what not.
As Guin was getting ready for bed, he had been given a room in the , well bedtime for him anyways, he heard the unmistakable hum coming from farther within the Hatching Grounds. He knew what hummings meant in Rocky Weyr and with excitement running in his veins, Guin ran for the Hatching Grounds.
When he arrived, he saw the Green flit who was humming near the eggs that were slowly rocking about on the sands. Since Guin seemed to be the first person there, he stopped before going near the clutchmother and remembered that the newly hatched flits would need meat. He was about to turn back around but he saw that someone was approaching and that someone seemed to have thought of bringing along bowls of meat for the hungry flits.
Lesla Lesla had just finished having a meal at the Dining Hall. As she was getting ready to leave, her flits, Seichou and Zeus began humming. They both popped between leaving Lesla behind in their wake and seconds after they left, Lesla began receiving images of a Green flit, probably K'riv's Kara, who was humming near five rocking flit eggs. They also sent her an image of a boy a few years younger than she, who was already there. In the months that she has been living in Rocky Weyr, Lesla has been trying to get rid of her shy nature. Sometimes she is successful and is able to deal with strangers, and at other times, she fails and suddenly becomes shy around them. However, since she was already in the Dining Hall, she decided to be brave and gathered five bowls and filled each bowl with enough chopped meat to fill a hungry flit's stomach.
Houkath was still napping in their weyr so Lesla didn't bother to disturb her beloved Green. Lesla then hurried with her burden of bowls of meat and wandered over to the Hatching Grounds. How she wished that Houkath could pass on a message to K'riv's Molth to tell him not to worry about getting bowls of meat for the flit hatching. As it was, she called to Seichou and instructed him to pass on the image of her carrying the bowls of meat and bringing them over to the Hatching Grounds. She just wished that Seichou was able to pass on the message as clearly as possible and that K'riv would be able to receive and understand Seichou's sending.
As she arrived, she noticed that the boy had been about to turn around possibly to get some food for the newly hatched flits himself. Not knowing if the boy would want to Impress a flit himself, Lesla still asked the lad to take the two bowls of meat from her before she dropped them on the ground.
Guin & Lesla Guin hurried over to help the girl with her burden of meat. Before he did so, he asked, "Yours?" gesturing with his right hand towards the Green flit and her rocking clutch of eggs. Then he took two bowls of meat off of the girl as the girl had asked.
Lesla shook her head and replied, "No, she's Kara and looks to Weyrling K'riv of Brown Molth." She looked about for her flits and saw Seichou and Zeus up on the ledge above the clutch of eggs. And saw the two of them were humming along with Kara.
With nothing else to do but wait, Lesla dared to be brave and introduced herself. "I'm Weyrling Lesla of Green Houkath. You?" Lesla said as she stood waiting beside the lad.
Nodding in acknowledgement with a small smile on his face, Guin replied to the girl's, well to Lesla's question with, "Guin Yukimura." He then fell into a companionable silence with Lesla as they both stood side by side waiting.
Having run dry what courage she had, Lesla fell silent also and waited companionably with Guin. She wondered when K'riv would arrive and hoped that he got the message from Seichou that she had already brought bowls of meat for Kara's hatching.

Virika was hanging out with Lakeen in her Weyr. Oddly enough was the fact that Lakeen was still awake even though both Lakeesk and Mentari were dead asleep. They had been worn out from a usual night of stay up. Blue Christopher was sitting quietly, watching the glowing light of Lakeen's iPod. Suddenly the little blue's head perked up and he began humming. Then he betweened and was gone.
Virika and Lakeen looked at where the young blue had been, then Lakeen looked at the undisturbed Mentari. Virika spoke. "What was that about?"
Before she could get an answer, Mentari woke. She rubbed her eyes and sat up, looking about her as if she had forgotten where she was. Then her green eyes widened and she bolted towards the door. "Kara's eggs are hatching!" She yelled.
Lakeen's head snapped to where Mentari was fumbling with the door lock. Without another moment Lakeen was beside her, the door unlocked and Mentari rushing to the hatching grounds. After grabbing Virika's hand Lakeen followed after her little sister.
"What's going on?!" Virika asked in a tense tone.
"The eggs are hatching. Remember, you have one?" Lakeen explained, still pulling the confused Candidate through the halls.
It wasn't long before they reached the hatching grounds, Mentari already there and panting from the exertion. Lakeen sat against the wall as she pointed at several fire lizards surrounding a clutch of eggs. Mentari's blue and Lakeen's green were already there, humming alongside the others. Virika noticed two other people there, and decided to try her luck at making new friends.
She approached the other two, a boy and a girl, and attempted to introduce herself. "Hi. I'm- um... I'm Virika." She paused shortly to try and get the words past her tongue tied mouth.

Lanrie knew that she was supposed to be a **candidate** at the green fire lizard's clutch's hatching, but she hadn't known that today would be the day they would hatch! She had been lying on her cot, dozing, and she heard humming. not realizing at first, she continued to doze, but when the flitter humms increased, Lanrhakah sat up quickly. Jumping off her bed, she walked quickly from the candidate barracks to the hatching grounds.
She had decided to immerse herself in Pernese influence, and now she might be one step closer to *belonging*. that is, if a firelizard impressed to her!

Lesla Lesla was not good with new people. Honest. So, when some other new stranger started talking to her, she got nervous. Instead of replying, Lesla handed over a bowl of meat towards the other girl. Lesla couldn't even look the other girl straight in the eye in her nervousness.
Guin Guin heard the other girl introduce herself. He would have shook her hand in greeting but he was currently holding two bowls of meat. One bowl in each hand. Nodding towards her in acknowledment, Guin replied with, "Guin Yukimura." Then gesturing with his head towards Lesla, he added, "She's Weyrling Lesla of Green Houkath."
Lesla Lesla nodded her head to confirm that Guin had introduced her correctly. Then sneaking a look towards the other girl who introduced herself as Virika, Lesla briefly smiled. Still, Lesla needed to be braver so she once more gathered her courage to speak to Virika, and Guin as well. "Are you two hoping to Impress a flit?" Lesla asked of Guin and Virika.
Guin At Lesla's question, he looked towards the clutch of eggs and the bowls of meat that he was currently holding. With a shrug of his shoulders, he replied with, "Sure why not." He then turned his attention a Virika waiting for her reply.
Lesla After hearing Guin's reponse, Lesla also turned towards Virika for her reply. But in the back of her mind, she wondered when the eggs would actually start hatching. After all, when the eggs start hatching, then the others' attention would switch to the flits. Then, she won't have to feel awkward being with virtual strangers.

"Yep. I'm hopeing to Impress one of the little critters." Virika smiled. She then remembered her manners and further introduced herself. "Virika Pandora, cousin to Faizah. I'm a Wher Candidate as well." Virika gave them one of her shy yet open smiles. Normally that smile won her a good many friends, and seemed to make a wonderful ice breaker around shy people.
---------------
Mentari and Lakeen stayed to the back, there just to support Virika and have the excitement of watching the hatching.

((Once tthis is over....I think I'm going to give up K'riv and Molth. My muse never seems to work for them. I'm sorry guys, I though I could handle them, but I can't.))
K'riv strode as purposefully as the young weyrling could with his brown in his arms toward the hatching grounds, relieved when the image was sent towards him. When he reached the group, he placed Molth down gingerly, careful to place his weyrmate on his side so as not to hurt is legs. Facing the group, he grinned and motioned toward the eggs, saying "Go on, if you have a egg."

Lanrhakah moved forwwards quickly, a small smile on her face, to look for whichever egg was her's.
She wondered what kind of fire lizard she would impress... What they would be like...
She looked at the little eggs of Kara's androlled onto the balls of her feet, wondering which was the egg she was to have.

Virika moved forward, picking up the egg with the number three on it, which was hers if she remembered correctly.
She took the time to wonder what color would hatch. She really didnt care, she would be happy with just Impressing one. Virika smiled to herself as she kept imagining the little hatchling within the egg she held.

Lesla As soon as K'riv arrived, Lesla relaxed since she wouldn't have to answer anymore questions. She did hand the second bowl of meat to another girl that she almost didn't notice aside from Virika. In a quiet voice, she told the girl, "It's for the flit. Feed them when they hatch." as she handed the bowl of meat to the girl.
And now, Lesla was left with one more bowl of meat. Virika had her own, as well as the other girl. Guin had two with him. She wondered if any body else would come to the hatching since she wasn't really expecting to Impress another flit. However, if no else else arrived, she would not be adverse to Impressing another one.
Guin Guin knew that there was an egg reserved for him. However, with two hands holding onto a bowl of meat each, Guin couldn't really pick up the egg that he was supposed to have. To remedy his predicament, he handed over one of the bowls back to Lesla. "Here, take this one back. I need to get my egg." Guin said as he handed over one of the bowls back to Lesla.
Once he was sure that Lesla had the other bowl, he approached the mound of flit eggs and gently took the egg with the number 2 on it. Taking a couple of steps away, he deposited the egg back on the sands and took a seat on the sands, not minding that the sands were hot and felt like he was in a very hot sauna seat. He sat cross-legged and deposited the bowl of meat in between his crossed legs. Again, he gently took the egg back and into his two hands, cradling it carefully lest the egg falls out of his hands.
Lesla Lesla took back the bowl of meat that Guin handed over to her. Now she had two bowls of meat. She looked at K'riv wondering if she should hand over the two bowls of meat to him instead.

The eggs were all shaking now, not just the one that had begun it all. A medium sized one was shaking the hardest, the most energetic of all of them. Even through this, it had been the last one to begin the movements that meant it was hatching.
It was a plain, creamy egg with the number 3 painted on it in bright green. It knocked against Virika's hands violently, before breaking with an audible crack. A pretty filigree of dark cracks clouded the top, and then exploded with a sharp retort. In the place where it had been, a brown (7e1815) stood. It's wings were larger than its nearly serpentine body, making it seem much more awkard then it really was, since its wings couldn't fit well against its back. Its red eyes turned a myriad of rainbow colors as he met her gaze.
It was to be a rather popular brown in the years to come with HisVirika, he who liked to tease and fly with his overlarge wings after whoever caught his fancy.
K'riv smiled somewhat sheepishly as he looked at the brown in her hands. "Congratulations, Virika."

Virika was astoundid. She had expected a blue or green, but not a brown. None-the-less, Virika smiled at K'riv when he congratulated her and began feeding the little brown. She had to think of a name for him. She thought hard for a moment. "Rannoch. I shall call you Rannoch."
Before doing so, though, she turned to K'riv. "Who's the father of the clutch?" She asked. She hadn't been there when Kara had risen, but she was curious now.

Lanrie bent down and picked up the number 5 egg, wondering when it would hatch. she saw another dragon candidate's flitter egg crack and break. A brown was inside, and Lanrie smiled at the other girl. She didn't know her, but a smile couldn't hurt.
Looking at the other eggs, she figured that it might not be best to hold onto the egg as it hatched.
She put the little egg in the sand at her feet, and looked down at it.

Lesla As Lesla had been contemplating, the egg that Virika had picked up from the rest of the eggs had hatched to reveal a handsome Brown flit. Lesla gave the other girl a smile as the other girl was summarily focused on their newly hatched flit. She then looked at the egg that had a number 2 on it that Guin was cradling in between both his hands. She briefly wondered what color of flit would hatch from it.
Guin Guin was having second thoughts about sitting on the warm heated sands, but he was not about to budge until the egg in his hands hatched. He did hear a crack and looking up from his egg, saw that Virika's egg had hatched a brown. He didn't give much thought after making sure that the flit seemed to be in good health. He idly wondered when his egg would hatch and what color would hatch from the egg that he cradled between his hands.

As if knowing that the girl with her son was talking about the sire, the green squeaked and sent her a image of Moe Chasing after her during her most recent Flight. K'riv flashed a grin at Virika before answering. "Moe, a brown that Impressed to....Kiana? I think that her name."
It was funny what was going on. It seemed as if whichever egg was being held was the next to hatch. Virika's egg had hatched the serpentine brown Rannoch, and now the egg painted with the number two, the one cradled in Guin's hands, cracked as if it was an egg smashed against the floor. The hatchling inside had pushed in a circle rather than just in two directions, making the thinner than usual egg collapse in on itself.
The filagreed, flimsy shell pulsed as the green inside struggled to makes its way to the surface, creeling for food all the while. Finally, Guin reached out a hand and carefully peeled the stuff away, revealing a green(2b8019) firelizard that was smaller than most greens had any right to be when they first hatch.
She was thin and small but overall a rather graceful and well put together firelizard, and as soon as her skin was touched by the light and Guin's hand brushed her hide, her eyes shifted from its pure, hungry red to a rainbow or random colors, there and gone again. She didn't hiss and fall on the meat like the brown had ended up doing, but instead was rather polite and crooned, gazing longfully at the bowls of meat.
She would, when she grew perhaps a few days older, become a very polite, quiet, and mannered green. She'd always be small er than the other Greens around, but what she missed in size, she had earned in acrobatics and speed. She'd enjoy acrobatics, just like her mother, but would always prefer to be near HerNightimeGuin.

Guin No sooner had the thought passed Guin's head, the egg between his hands produced cracks. However for some odd reason, it had caved in on itself as if Guin had dropped the egg. He could hear the flit kreeling its hunger from inside the flimy shell. In response, Guin carefully peeled the shell away from the inhabitant inside the egg which finally revealed a green.
Guin was transfixed as he stared at the small, tiny flit in his hand. She was lovely and beautiful despite her small stature. Her soft crooning woke him from his daze and with his right hand, scooped a few piece of meat to feed to his Green flit. As he did so he softly said to her, "Well, aren't you a lovely little green." as he also sent her his love and promise of safety and shelter should she decide to stay with him. But the swirl of rainbow colors from the green flit's eyes already meant that Impression had been made despite the fact that the flit had yet to be actually fed by Guin. But Guin didn't know that, and no one was about to tell him otherwise.
The green flit, which had yet to be named by Guin, accept the morsel of food daintily and chewed her food quite like as if she was some young noble lady. She chewed slowly making sure that the meat was ground real fine and wouldn't choke her should she swallow it down her gullet. After swallowing the first piece, she politely asked for more, sending an image of her being given another piece of meat by Hers as well as projecting to Hers how hungry she currently felt.
Guin felt the mind that gently intruded on his and was once again dazed as he clearly received an image from his green about being given another piece of meat. He had stayed still for a bit, still stunned when a feeling of hunger now insinuated into him. He knew he wasn't hungry but realizing that the feeling was coming from his green, Guin readily complied with giving her another morsel. And as he did so, Guin realized that he should be thinking of a name to call her. He couldn't keep on calling her as his green or something of that variation.
The green crooned in pleasure at being presented another morsel of meat. Again, she daintily took the meat in between her jaws and chewed carefully and slowly. Repeating the process of chewing and swallowing as if it was some great noble affair. And for her, it was for she would never hungrily guzzle down meat like some wild flit. She was a well-mannered green and she intended to stay that way.
Guin noticed the green's well-mannered attitude compared to the brown and decided to give her a name that he thought would suit her. "Arwen... Arwen Keilani, that'll be your name girl." Guin told his green flit. "Do you like your name, Arwen?" Guin asked the flit whom he fed another morsel of meat.
The green flit, looked up at Hers when Hers talked. She heard him say, Arwen... Arwen Keilani, that'll be your name girl.' As she took the offered morsel of meat once more, she again heard him ask her opinion regarding her name. As she chewed the meat, she contemplated quickly enough and decided that despite the long name that Hers had given, she rather liked being called, Arwen. So, Arwen Keilani she shall be from now on. With a swallow of her carefully chewed food, she nodded her agreement as she purred her pleasure for her name. But that little bit of thinking has made her more hungry and with a quick change from purring in pleasure to kreeling in hunger, she asked for more meat to be given her as her eyes once more began swirling in the red of hunger.
Guin was glad that his flit seemed to like the name that he had thought to give her. He was glad enough to give her another morsel of food as he now looked at the two eggs still left on the sands and the egg that some other girl he didn't know of yet, was currently holding. Then, his eyes strayed back to the rocking eggs on the sands once more wondering what would happen if those two, egg number 1 and egg number 4, hatched when someone hadn't claimed them yet.
Lesla When Lesla saw the green flit that hatched from Guin's egg, she smiled wistfully at it. She may not be looking to impress a flit today, but she did want to have a chance at a green or gold in the future when Zeus was a bit more older and not such a handful. But that didn't mean she would throw away the chance to impress another flit should one decide to come at her. She particularly watched the two eggs still left on the sands. She wondered if they were spoken for or if those two didn't have any reserved owners yet. So far there had been a brown, then a green. Lesla wondered what color the other girl would get, and what color would hatch from the two eggs still left on the sands.

It just so happened that Z'volm was making his usual rounds as the creeper of the weyr. A sadistic grin played on his lips, the rider walked through the hallways with his head held high. Each step was a deliberate footprint on the floor, and with his dark eyes scanning the walls, Z'volm glided through the corridor. The greenrider tugged at his collar. Crucith...? he asked in a confused manner. He was getting warmer--his green Rising again? That wasn't right.
Idiot. No, I am not. I'm still egg-heavy, the green curtly responded, mentally jabbing at her rider's mind.
Sorry! Touchy subject? he chuckled, rounding a corner. Oh, but of course. The hatching sands were right there. The heat escaped the area and filtered through the hallways until it dispersed into nothing. And wasn't there a fire lizard clutch as well? Interested to see the proceedings, Z'volm stepped up to the entrance, and pressed himself against the wall. Now what was going on? There was a small group of people there already--was the clutch hatching? Big deal. A tiny, annoying dragon wasn't something he wanted. He had Crucith to deal with!
I have half a mind to go down there and show you just how much of a pain I can be! So don't push me, Z'volm.
The rider wheezed. Darling... You couldn't hurt me if you tried, Z'volm retorted, egging the green on. Just try to hurt him--cause pain. She could; he knew she could. And that was the best part of their relationship. Wouldn't that be fun? Come on down here, Crucith. Show me. Without another word, Z'volm stepped onto the sands, instantly recalling a moment in his past--Impressing Crucith. The lovely green that bit the other dragonet's tail. The heat of the sands brought those memories back.
"Ooo, what's this? A midget dragon hatching?" Z'volm stuffed his hands into his pockets and sauntered through the sands, his feet occasionally kicking up grains as he shuffled them among the ground. "A little green already? How cute," he smiled, his teeth showing at the edges. "Hopefully like a miniature Crucith? Wouldn't that be nice? Everyone should have their own Crucith... But the original is always the best."

H'vas and Cherath Shirtless, heavilly muscled, and completely gay, this handsome rider was doing the best thing he could do. He was running down the faintly illuminated halls and corridors, on the verge of cursing himself for his tardiness. In other words, he was running late. Very, very late. Hopefully, if luck was with him, the egg he had claimed had not yet hatched and Impressed to any other Rider, Weyrling, Candidate, or Wherhandler around. Or, uh, any other that might be around. Or gone wild. If that was so, then it would completely - in Earthina terms - suck. Badly. Tell me again why you couldn't fly me there? he half complained, half commanded Cherath, who was lying lazily back in there weyr. Because, H'vasMine, I find such situations amusing at times. And this, unfortunately for you, is one of those times. He snorted. Now, if it's all the same to you, love, then you should hurry. Is your egg hatching yet?[/color] He put on another burst of speed. After a few slips, trips, and skips, H'vas finally entered the Hatching Sands. Without stopping to unhook his earphones from his ears - he was actually listenning to some Jonas Brothers at the moment - he slowed and walked up to the small crowd that had gathered near the eggs. Oh, just three eggs left? No, two! That girl's one just hatched! Had his...? No. Good. And was that the one, the only, Z'volm? Oh, that's rich. Had he just wandered in or had he ended up being allowedd the chance to Impress a firelizard. You know what? He didn't want to know. "Sorry I'm late, guys! Dragon held me up. You know, the usual!" He flashed a bright grin at each of them. Told you so... he told Cherath, smug. The Fiifth Egg The largest egg had hatched, as well as one of the middle sized ones. Both flitters were eating ravenously, though the second hatched, the tiny green whom had been dubbed Arwen, did so with much more class and mannerisms than the brown Rannoch. Now only three egg remained, the smallest of which was nestled in the sand before Lanrhakah. It had been shaking when she picked it up, and the touch of her hands seemed to invigorate its exagerated movements. Grasped in her hands as it was, it seemed as if the little thing inside could feel her and was impatient to be free of his dark home. But, no, she put it down in front of her. The egg's rocking stopped abruptly, so that only slight twitches could be seen as it seemed to make a bed for itself in the sand. But, no, what was that moving at the bottom, almost completely in the sand? Was it a piece of shell? After a closer look, it was clear that in its furios rockings, it had indeed slowly splintered and cracked. The movements in the sand had actually wedged a small bit of sand into the crack, widenning it before the firelizard inside moved one last time and out it went, sprawling her wings across the sands. The little green(76c180) thing lifted her head, staring at the sand that covered her. Shre even ewent so far as to scoop some up in her mouth as if it was meat. However, the results were very soon all over a certain Candidate's shoes. She was small, though not nearly as small as Arwen was. She was unmarked, and looked rather normal as she was at that moment. It would not come until later that her pale green stripe down the front of her chest became visible. Her manners were satisfactory, but she was always willing to stick her nose into anything that she fancied herself to know what was. She was nosy and naturally curious about anything and everything. Oh, as for size? She would gain weight over the next few months, until she was a larger green, unlike her older sister.

Guin As Guin fed little Arwen Keilani, someone else joined their little group, when he heard the person say, 'Ooo, what's this? A midget dragon hatching?'. He looked up at the speaker and saw him saunter through the sands. When the man commented on how cute Arwen Keilani was, Guin couldn't help but smile at his assessment. However, when the man continued speaking, by saying, 'Hopefully like a miniature Crucith? Wouldn't that be nice? Everyone should have their own Crucith... But the original is always the best.' Guin didn't really know the person personally, however, he had been at the Weyr long enough to know Crucith by name. It was said that Crucith and her rider, Z'volm, were rather sadistic by nature which was the reason why they had been sent here to Earth. Guin decided not to comment and just kept feeding Arwen Keilani.
Arwen Keilani didn't like the new person at all who was speaking. She had hissed at him as he had come near her and Hers. Alas, hunger prevailed her from flying at him. However, when she was not hungry, he better not come near Hers. And so, she decided to concentrate on eating, ignoring the newcomer as much as possible.
When he heard someone say, 'Sorry I'm late, guys! Dragon held me up. You know, the usual!', Guin once more looked up to see a half naked man had joined their little group. Guin didn't know the man so he didn't know how to properly greet him. However, he did reply with, "Not so late that all the eggs have hatched." with a shrug of his shoulders as he pointed to the eggs still on the sands.
Lesla Lesla knew Z'volm from his reputation and she didn't like having anything to do with him. Besides, she was scared enough just being near him. She silently siddled away from the Greenrider. She wouldn't know what to do if that rider chose to focus his attention on her. However, aith another rider arriving half naked, Lesla hoped that she would be spared Z'volm's attention.
She walked up to H'vas and handed him one of the bowls of meat that she had with her. She didn't even comment on his state of undress, so as not to embarrass the Greenrider. Lesla waited until he took the bowl of meat away from her. She was left with one bowl of meat and wondered if she should dare to give Z'volm the last bowl. She wasn't really sure if he was one of the reserved owners for the flit eggs. But, she was scared of him, so she stood there in indecision.

Interested in the green that hatched second, Z'volm inched closer to her and her new owner. The owner was a young man that Z'volm yet had the pleasure of meeting, but now was as good a time as ever. "Well hello there... Nice to meet you--I'm Z'volm, rider of Green Crucith. Who are you?" he asked, winking and stepping closer to him. "Oh! It seems she doesn't like me. You can forget that then!" The rider pouted and stepped back from the hissing firelizard. He bent over, bringing his face level with the green, and huffed. "Cheeky." At that, Z'volm stood up and worked around to the grouping of eggs.
"Let's see... How many have hatched so far?" Lifting a finger to count, Z'volm spun in a circle as his eyes sought out the eggshells. There were the two greens, on hatching mere seconds after he entered, and a young brown in the hands of a lady. Another person he didn't know. A confused look on his face, Z'volm glanced around at everyone. He only knew K'riv, H'vas, and Lesla. The others had to be recent arrivals--or people he didn't care about enough to get to know. "Huh... I don't know any of you... I don't know if I care enough to learn." He shrugged and resumed walking around. Lesla moving caught his eye, and he noticed she was handing a bowl of meat to H'vas, then shifted uncomfortably with a single bowl in her hands. "I'm not here for a miniature dragon," Z'volm commented with a roll of his eyes.
Getting bored with the event, Z'volm was now content with leaving. A light scoff, and he was turning away, to leave the hatching sands. He caught the half-naked H'vas in his eyesight though, and the immature voice in his head whispered unclean thoughts. "Mmm... H'vas..." he murmured, slipping closer to the fellow rider. He was a greenrider, true, but that knowledge wasn't going to stop this determined man. "You look simply ravishing today, especially with that... lack of clothing. And how is Cherath? Moody? Pushy? Mmm, you gotta love those greens..." He grinned, his eyes trailing down to stare at H'vas' exposed torso. It took all his willpower to resist reaching up and running a finger down the man's chest.

H'vas and Cherath "Oo, that's good. One of 'ems supposed to be mine!" He replied cheerfully, reaching down to scoop one of the eggs up. It was shaking frantically, as if the thing inside was angry. Turning, he searched for the bowls of meat that he saw the others already had in their hands. He saw two of them in the hands of a girl, who was holding one out to him, waiting for him to take it. H'vas grinned as he took the meat bowl from Lesla. "Thanks much!" He truned and strode away a few steps, searching once more. This time, he was searching for comfy place to sit and wait. But Z'volm caught him before he could. The other Greenrider came up to him, a wicked thought shining in his eyes. "Mmm... H'vas... You look simply ravishing today, especially with that... lack of clothing. And how is Cherath? Moody? Pushy? Mmm, you gotta love those greens..." His voice was a purr, and his eyes travelled boldly across his bare, heavilly muscled chest. H'vas smiled, and replied "Cherath is a little of both at the moment." He glanced Z'volm up and down his down, a once over. H'vas was just a little taller it seemed than he was, but Z'volm was nearly his match in muscle mass. He didn't look half bad.... The Surprise of the First Egg No one had been allowed to place a claim on this egg. It was the secong smallest egg in the clutch, and it was only moving timidly as it fought search out the light. It cracked at the very top slowly just tiny, hairline fractures that couldn't even be seen if you didn't look close enough. Finally, the shaking stopped, and the little thing was completely still. After one, maybe two minutes, a large portion of the egg lifted itself up, leaving the bottom behind. You could see the little tiny blue (3e95a8) paws perched haphazardly in the sand as the tiny thing inside chirped wildly and seemed to try to get out by going upwards. It's movements caused it to go towards the two standing figures of H'vas and Z'volm, but gravity somehow pulled it onward toward Z'volm. It crashed solidly into one of his boots, shattering the shell that encased most of the blue's body. The little thing crooned, and sat there cowering in he sand at Z'volm's feet. It looked up only once, and as soon as it caught Z'volm's fac staring down at him, Impression was made. In the future, this particular blue was going to be completely miserable. He, unlike His and His big Cousin Cherath were completely different. He was finicky and full of worrying thoughts. They were not.

Lanrie kept glancing worriedly at her egg, there in the sand between her feet. She didn't know if she should have continued holding it, or if what she had done was right.
But then, she heard a faint squeak, and looked down from admiring the other fire lizards in time to see a bit of the shell break off. As lanrie watched, the hole in the egg slowly wideened, and a green fire lizard came tumblign out. The miniscule dragon-like creature was sprawled on the hot sand, her tiny wings outstreatched.
She picked up a bit of sand in her mouth, and then spit it out with an angry sound. Lanrie winced as the wet sand got on her boots, but she ignored it and picked up the little green.
"What a pretty little thhing you are" she crooned to it. Lanrie smiled, and it lit up her eyes in a way that hadn't hapened since the day her past was wiped away by the floods.
Holding her green with one hand, she found the meat strips and fed one to it. the green started to attack it vorasiously, thought better of it, and daintily ate the piece whole. Lanrie watched with amusement as she saw the bulge go down the green's throat.
The colorful, whirling eyes had changed from the angry-looking red to a more happy blue, and Lanrie began to feel the emotions of her fire lizard, which told her she had, in fact, impressed it. "Now you need a name, little greenling" she said, lookign at the miniature dragon.
Thinking over names she had heard foor pets, and for people, she finally decided. "I think i will call you Peri... like peridot, but shorter, because of your color"

"A little bit of both? Well what is there to be expected with a green?" Z'volm crooned, giving into desire and raising a hand. His fingers curling delicately, the greenrider slowly reached forward, trying to touch H'vas. Before his digits made contact with the other man's skin, a thump on his boots distracted him. Arm still in the air, Z'volm glanced down to see a blue-green flitter peering up at him with wide eyes. The... thing was sitting in a pile of his eggshells, and coated in bits of shell and sand.
The rainbow swirls of the flitter's eyes said one thing, but Z'volm refused to believe it. The blue chirped piteously, staring up at the greenrider, and started forward to claw at his boots. "Hey, get off--shoo! I'm not here for a firelizard. Just stopping by. Go away. Go bond to someone else," Z'volm commanded the blue, shaking his boot and knocking the flitter off. He rolled in the sand, limbs flailing about, and all the way kreening softly. "Pesky things..."
Perfectly fine with the fact that the blue was now away, and taking a bit of fun from the fact that he might have hurt the creature's pride, Z'volm looked back at H'vas. "Now where were we...?" he said softly, still pressing froward. And once again, the blue firelizard leaped forward from his spot, crooning, and clinging to Z'volm's leather boot. "You've got to be kidding me!" the rider exclaimed, mood now ruined by the persistent firelizard. "Get... Away...!" Fuming, Z'volm grabbed the bowl of meat from H'vas, not caring what he might think of that, and picked up a few pieces of the meat. Cocking an arm back, he wound up, and threw the meat across the sand.
"Go on, get the food, you wherry-brained flit! What a nightmare..." The greenrider huffed as the blue firelizard chased after the food, stumbling the whole way and gangly limbs kicking up puffs of sand. "Here, you can have him," Z'volm thrust the ceramic bowl back into H'vas' hands, and content with stomping out of the sands, only to have the blue flitter return and hang onto his pants.

((Okay. I had better put it in.
After Z'volm left, H'vas's egg hatched a green. And not just any green. But Crai, a green that was a tiny clone of Crucith. Kind of. Instead of paler head, neck, and legs, her paws and wings were darker. She had the same attitude, the same mean and sadistic streak.
And, that, my friends, in the end of this hatching.
I will never, ever, play Kara, Molth, and K'riv again.))
