S'tor smiled a bit. "I hear they do that."
As for his disagreements with Faizah...it was going to be hard to set them aside for Naktor's sake, but he was going to have to. Which might mean his son grew up not really knowing the way things were.
Except...he was no longer sure of the way they should be. He liked Nakia, and her dragon was a chimera, a freak. Plus, she was neither a semi-unnatural female rider nor a lower caverns woman content with her place. Earth women. That was what it all boiled down to.
Earth women were different.

Earth women were indeed different. They had more rights than women on Pern. They had a different upbringing as well. Most of them were more outspoken, even. But that wasn't the only thing...
Nakia nodded. "He is kicking me in the ribs..." She grimaced a little as the baby kicked again.
The doctor nodded. "That's normal. The baby is feeling your excitement." He explained, a small grin on his face. He really did enjoy working with pregnant women.

"Yeah. Like I said, I hear they do that." One more reason to be glad one wasn't a woman. Laying eggs had to be a lot easier, he mused to himself.
A lot easier. BUt then, they didn't exactly get the choice, and women should be respected for the unique burden they carried. Especially when said burden was kicking them in the ribs. Even if it was supposed to be a good thing, proving that the baby was strong and healthy.

Nakia laughed a little. "It's my belief that laying eggs is infinitely easier..." She muttered.
Nakia couldn't have known how close to S'tor thoughts she had come, but she surely did agree with them. Dragons only had to lay the eggs, then let the heat of the sands harden them. They didn't have to worry about dragonets kicking them in the ribs. Or the bladder. Or other various organs that feel pain very acutely.

"You would know, as Isath has clutched." Which meant she had her dragon's emotions to compare to her own. As yet, Ryath had not sired...and he had mixed feelings about that.
Likely, if he did, it would be a green's clutch...and he did worry that Ryath's defect would breed true. Or worse, that he would produce sadistic offspring, like that horrible Crucith. Now there was a dragon that should not have been allowed to breed, except that it would have been far too dangerous to let her anywhere near firestone...

Nakia thought about that. She hadn't even imagined about comparing her emotions and thoughts to Isath's. Even though she had felt all of Isath's emotions when the chimera clutched... Nakia shrugged.
"Perhaps it's true. Isath was the crankiest right before she clutched, but then she mellowed right out..." She explained.
Nakia then remembered that S'tor's brown had chased Isath on her maiden flight. It caused Nakia to wonder. Had Ryath ever sired a clutch? And how much had he chased before coming to Rocky? While Nakia was curious, she didn't dare voice the questions with the doctor there. It was far too private, and for all her short comings, Nakia did possess some subtlety.

S'tor nodded. "Well. I won't mind if you get cranky at me when you're eight months along and feel like you can't move."
He'd seen how much pregnant women waddled around when they were close to giving birth. It had to be unpleasant. Of course, before, he would never have given it a second thought. Birthing babies was what women were *for*. Their primary purpose. And he knew it wasn't just because she was birthing his baby.
He wasn't sure what he knew any more.

((Lol. Poor confused S'tor! Also, sorry for short post.))
Nakia laughed a little. She smiled at S'tor as she answered. "Don't worry. I probably will be very cranky around that time."
Nakia wasn't sure why she was so relaxed around S'tor. It was a strange feeling, but one she found she enjoyed. Especially when S'tor joked along with her.

"And yelling at the kid to come out already, no doubt." He would be glad when it did. Seeing his son on the screen was one thing.
Holding him? That was something well worth looking forward to, even if he'd probably cry. Babies did that all the time, after all. He was glad young dragons hatched able to tell their riders what they wanted...babies simply lacked that capability for, well, months at best.
Ah well. Babies grew into men...and women...and that was what really mattered.

Nakia nodded emphatically. "I will be doing that too. I can already tell." She said with a small grin.
Nakia was thinking similiar thoughts. But she didn't care about holding her son. Faizah could do that. And Faizah enjoyed holding babies. But she did want to see what a fine boy he would grow into. With Faizah acting as his mother, and a father like S'tor, he was bound to be a good and strong boy. Nakia smiled.

OOC: Let me guess. Nakia only likes kids once they're old enough to have a conversation with? And I'm actually thinking this is a good wrap, unless you have more, Faizah?

((Yeah, pretty much. Although she does think babies are cute, but she won't touch them. Lol. And yeah, looks like a good wrap for me too.))
