It was hardly exciting, being out here without a dragon. All there was to look at was a bunch of stupid cows, and some stupid sheep, and the worlds most boring trio of goats.
Gideon cranked up the volume on his iPod and swore quietly at a goat. The goat appeared to be nonplussed. Gideon wondered, for just a moment, if it was possible for his life to get worse from being stranded with a bunch of do-gooder, smarmy, love-and-peace hippie dragon freaks, when a dark shadow overhead made him curse loudly as he realized, YES, it could get worse.
Skirth landed outside the feeding pens, posed in a crouch for the few seconds it took for Liam to drop to the ground. Both dragon and human caught sight of the troublesome candidate and grinned. Liam waved for his dragon to head off to find his lunch, and made his way toward Gideon. Gideon had only a moment of warning when Skirth sent him a thought- Look out, little human. He's not in a good mood today.
Gideon sighed, and muttered "Well neither am I." Gideon prayed that someone else would save him from the terminally-grumpy old man and glanced up at the sky as if someone else would magically fall out of it.
"Please? If there's anything worthwhile at this dump, someone save me from another lecture from this old fart..."
