(OOC: This is the continuation regarding Adair, Finder, & An Injured Wolf Cub. FYI, Adair doesn't know that the pup is a wolf cub or that the wound was caused by a gun shot that grazed the body of the wolf cub. So, if a doctor or someone from Earth can tell him what's wrong and maybe help him clean the wound of the wolf cub and bandage the wound of the wolf cub, Adair would be ever so grateful.) IC Date: September 5, 2011 IC Time: Around 1:00 pm Two hours had passed by the time that Adair, Finder and the injured pup arrived in the Infirmary. Adair gently laid down his burden on the nearest table. The pup had fallen into slumber and Adair hoped that they weren't too late to help the little one. He looked about the room wondering if there was anyone who could help him. Seeing no one currently inside, he went about opening cabinents as he tried to look for bandages that he could use to bandage the pup's wound. Finder had decided to look after the injured creature while His was busy looking for something. He sniffed at the creature trying to get a better scent and sneezed as he got a good sniff of the creature's scent. The scent sort of reminded of the few canines roaming about the weyr. Satisfied with his curiousity, he settled on the table and curled around the injured animal as if he was the animal's dam. The wolf cub roused a little from his slumber as he felt something drape itself over him. He wasn't sure what it was, but it felt warm and comfortable. He relaxed more fully and once more drifted into slumber, his injury forgotten for the moment.

(OOC: Okay, since I want this part of Adair's history closed, I might as well post to help the injured cub and give the cub a name.)
One of the medics was coming back to the Infirmary from having finished his lunch at the Dining Hall. He was surprised to see someone looking through the cabinets and was just about to let loose a scolding when he noticed the injured wolf cub on the table with a blue flit curled around it. He immediately approached the cub thinking the worst from the amount of blood that he saw on the table. However, when he was closer, he noticed that the wolf cub was just sleeping. In a way, it would be better if the cub was unconscious for what he now saw needed to be done.
Adair had seen the man enter the Infirmary and asked about bandages but the man totally ignored him as Adair saw him walk over to where the injured pup and Finder was. He walked to where the others were, and silently watched the medic and waited for the verdict.
The medic had been so focused on the injured pup and he didn't even notice the lad coming up to stand close by. Looking up, he saw the lad looking concerned and surmised that he had found the cub injured somewhere. "I don't know who you are and I don't know what happened. But this here wolf cub needs stitches if he is to survive from the gunshot wound. It's a good thing it just grazed him, but the wound is deep and needs stitches." he said. Then, after a pause, he added, "Wait here while I get what I'll need to clean, stitch and bandage the wound." With that the medic went about to gather the materials from the various cabinets in the Infirmary.
Adair just nodded and stood by the table where he put down the injured pup. He reached out to give the pup a caress on his head. He had heard the man say that the pup was a wolf cub. Adair wasn't really sure what that meant unless it was some specific type of canine that was only present here on Earth but not on Pern. He gave a silent thanks to Finder and also gave the blue flit a caress on his little wedge shaped head. And the man was soon back to their side with materials that Adair was unfamiliar with except for the bandages.
When the medic had everything he would need, he went back to the injured cub, he took a needle and took some sedative to give the wolf cub so that he would wake all riled up while being stitched. It would just add to his injury if the cub moved while being stitched. After he was sure that the sedative was working, he ordered the lad to get his flit off the cub, however he asked the lad to hold the wolf cub down just in case the cub woke up while he was doing his job.
Adair told Finder to leave the cub now and the flit scrambled up Adair's arm and settled on his shoulder. Finder didn't know what was going on, but he could feel His' anxiety over the injured creature. He nuzzled his and wailed in worry, his eyes taking on whirl of yellow. Adair felt Finder nuzzling him and told Finder that everything would be okay now. The man was sure to help the injured wolf cub. When the man told him to keep a hold on the cub, Adair nodded and did was he was told.
After some time passed, the medic had finished doing the necessary thing for the cub's survival. He faced the lad and said, "Well, I've done all I can for him. I'm guessing his dam must have either left him or have been killed somewhere or you wouldn't have been able to bring him here." He paused for a few seconds before continuing with, "Anyways, he's a pure Arctic Wolf. Their a wild species and I haven't heard of Arctic Wolves being easy to domesticate. You are going to have your hands full if you plan on making a pet out of him."
Adair looked down at the Arctic Wolf as the man said the canine was. He then looked back up at the man, "How hard can it be to train him?" he asked obviously interested in making a pet out of the wolf cub.
"First and foremost, you are going to have him see you as his Alpha. You need to make him understand that the flits like your little blue friend there is not prey. You need to teach him obedience so that he'll obey all your commands. There are lots things that you'd need to do make sure that he'll be a well-mannered pet. But for now, he'll need a name. Have you thought of one?" the man asked Adair.
Adair didn't know what being an Alpha meant. He'd have to make sure to read about wolf training in the library or over the internet, which was something quite marvelous and miraculous in Adair's opinion. He'd be able to read lots of stuff online without having to leave the Common Room. Still, he liked reading books the old fashioned way instead of online so he'll be spending some time at the library whenever he has free time. However, for now, he needed a name for the wolf cub.
After a time of contemplating, Adair nodded at the man and said, "I'll name him, Ryoushi." After a pause, he added, "Thanks for your help. I'll make sure to train him properly into a well-mannered pet and also make sure that he sees me as his Alpha." as he gathered the still sleeping Ryoushi into his arm. "We'll be going now. Thanks again for your help." he said as he, Finder, and his new pet, Ryoushi, left the Infirmary.
