IC Week of June 5th, 2011 N'lon sat on the shore next to the lake, watching Nyketh swim contenedly in the cold water. Of course, the blue was only deep enough to really walk in it. He had been too worried about drowning to go any further. As it was N'lon was wet from the knees down from having to reassure the blue. mineN'lon? Join Nyketh in the cool water. It is fun...[/color] The blue tentatively said to his rider. He glanced down at the Earthian pants he was wearing. Jeans, they were called. They were already wet, so why not join the little guy? N'lon smiled and ran in, splashing the blue dragonet as he raced past him. "Come on, Ny! It's better over here!" He called to the blue.

A shadow ghosted over the lake, briefly passing over the weyrling pair. From his lofty perch, Rainer leaned down to see if he could recognize the blue Noxceventh had spotted below. Not a clue... He grinned and signaled for his blue to head down. The blue was happy to comply, and Rainer held on tight with his knees- no need for straps or a harness for the short glide to the bowl.
And not just because he was cold- Noxceventh had insisted upon a bath, and he hadn't really felt like waiting for his rider to finish getting quite dressed after his shower...well, the long and short of it was that Rainer's hair was still mostly wet, and he would have really much preferred to have been able to get his shirt on. But Noxceventh was in a very cheerful mood, and he quite happily reassured R'ner - the dragon firmly refused to call his rider by his un-shortened name, as he thought R'ner's protest on the subject quite ridiculous.
As if to show his rider exactly how silly he was being, the deep blue dragon banked to one side and dropped towards the water. He called out a mental greeting to the weyrling blue in the shallows before diving straight into the lake a bit further away. Greetings to you, young one! I hope you will not mind if me and mine join you for a time? I wanted to swim so terribly, and mine seemed so bent on his own bath I thought I should oblige him. Noxceventh said as he resurfaced, shaking his head and lazily treading water as he waited for R'ner to find him.
"You are a cruel beast, Noxceventh. This water is cold, and I told you I just took a shower! And now my clothes are wet." R'ner sputtered. He sent a dirty look toward his dragon, but the blue just laughed and paddled away. Don't complain. Your clothes will dry. For now, make friends!
R'ner sighed and glanced at the dragon quite happily swimming in the lake, then just rolled his eyes and struck out for the shore. "Fine. Just be careful, Nox. Come back to the shore if you start hurting, okay?" He called out, just about the time he made it to a point where he could stand. The blue just sent back a reply saying he would, and that he liked swimming more. He claimed it was easier on him to not put so much weight on his leg, and that the water helped the ache in his missing leg.
R'ner shook his head and stripped off his long jacket and sighed again, deciding to forgo a shirt rather than suffer under the heavy wet leather. Then he grinned at the weyrling splashing in the water with his dragon and couldn't help laughing. It looked like the bond between rider and dragon never changed. He called out a greeting, but he hardly worried about getting a response. He actually almost felt bad for interrupting, but he kind of found it cute to watch the weyrling and his young blue.

N'lon smiled as the young blue began approaching him, then hightailed it nearly back to shore. N'lon cupped his hand as he struck the water, sending a spray over to Nyketh. "What's wrong you silly blue?!" He called over. The sound of a large splash made N'lon look over to where a midnight blue dragon was swimming about. So that's what had scared Nyketh.
Is it over, mine? What made that sound? Nyketh asked gently.
"It's another dragon. Get over here, Ny. Or by Faranth's first egg I will drag your little worrisome tail over here." N'lon laughed, sending to the blue reassurance and the joy of having fun.
Nyketh approached hesitantly. N'lon splashed water at the blue again, only to receive a spray of water to his face in return. With a crooked smile, the weyrling pair continued their game. So absorbed in their play, N'lon almost didn't hear the greeting of the elder blue's rider. (He knew it had to be the blue's rider since Nyketh had vaguely mentioned the blue saying that he and his rider were there)
N'lon stopped, looking at the elder rider with his arm up to protect himself if Nyketh continued the "war". The blonde weyrling waved to the rider. "Why don't you come join us?!" He called over to the man.

R'ner laughed happily and shook his head. "Well, if you're going to ask so nicely, how could I refuse?" he shot back, trudging through the water to get somewhat closer. He glanced over his shoulder briefly to check on his dragon, only to find Noxceventh floating in lazy circles using the bare minimum of effort.
"Lazy dragon." He said. Noxceventh didn't dignify that with a response, but he turned his head so his one good eye could give his beloved rider a dirty look. R'ner just laughed and turned back to the other rider and his young blue.
"Good day to you both! I'm deeply sorry if Noxceventh scared your little one...he's kind of a dimglow like that sometimes." A splash from the deeper water of the lake clearly displayed Noxceventh's displeasure at that statement.

N'lon shrugged. "Don't worry about it. Nyketh here is worrier. And you're more than welcome to join us." N'lon smile as he said that, bending over and spraying the elder rider with ease.
Nyketh approached N'lon, using his tail to help spray the other man. Then, with a devious thought, Nyketh turned against N'lon. Now he was splashing both of them.
((Sorry for the fail, Red.))

R'ner yelped, and stumbled backwards, but a huge grin split his face. "Why you- weyrling, respect your elders!" He said, barely containing his laughter. He leapt at the young blue, sending splashes of water at both parties in self-defense.
When the young dragon turned the tables on the humans, he couldn't help but smile. "Alas, it would seem your little blue has turned against us! it's an all out war, now!"

"Indeed it is!" N'lon agreed with his elder blue rider.
The two humans began splashing blue Nyketh, obviously enjoying the game. Nyketh held his wings up in defense as he used his tail to splash them. But the little guy was devious as he dove under the water. N'lon stopped a moment. "Where did he go...?" He asked in astonishment.

R'ner frowned, but it was entirely feigned. A gentle nudge to the great navy shadow deeper in the waters alerted him to exactly where the littler dragon had gone, but Noxceventh refused to join them or to give more information than Nyketh's location. In fact, the elder blue just swished a spray of water at them with his nose, and stealthily whispered to the younger blue to perhaps sneak up behind the humans and dunk them both, if he could...

Nyketh took the elder blue's suggestion. He swam over to His first, and sweeping his tail at the Weyrling's knees, effectively knocked N'lon into the water. Using the large splash as cover, he snuck up behind R'ner.
"What the-!" N'lon yelled as he crashed into the water. He attempted to look around for his blue, but already Nyketh was out of his reach. N'lon looked over at the blue rider.
"How much you want to bet your blue gave Nyketh the idea?" N'lon asked.
Nyketh seemed to smile as the men took each other's attention from him.

R'ner frowned, attempting to look ferocious, but he couldn't help the smirk of pride for his dragon. "I'd be willing to take that bet..." He said. "Devious monster, he is."
A stream of bubbles a ways away signaled Noxceventh's sinking into the lake. R'ner tensed up, pretending he couldn't easily find his dragon if he wanted to. He felt Noxceventh's admittance of this fact, but R'ner couldn't have guessed what would come next.
A huge blue wing swept up and forward over them, dragging a large wave with it. R'ner yelped as the lakewater washed over him, knocking him on his rear in the water.
"Blast."

N'lon burst into laughter from his own seat in the lake water. "That's an effective comment!" N'lon howled.
Nyketh raised his snouth and eyes from the water, watching His enjoy the play and the water.

R'ner squirted a stream of rather bland lakewater from his mouth. "Weyrlings shouldn't laugh at their elders." He said with as much false and obviously humor-filled pride as he could muster. But since he happened to pull along a string of lakeweed with him when he stood, pride was hardly applicable. He delicately removed a leaf from his head, where it had been acting as a nice little hat, and stared at it ruefully.
"Then again, laugh as you will." He said, balling up a clump of spongy lakeweed and lobbing it in the weyrling's direction. "Catch!"

N'lon was in convulsions he was laughing so hard. Therefor, when the lakeweed was thrown at him, smacking him in the face, he was taken by surprise. He stopped his mad laughing to look at the offending plant and then over to the blue rider. He squinted his blue eyes at the elder man as he picked up the lakeweed.
N'lon stood up, balling the lakeweed into a ball. He drew his arm back to throw the soggy plant back at R'ner when suddenly he was in the water again, watching Nyketh's blue tail propell him away from the weyrling. N'lon growled at the blue for spoiling his aim, but could not stay mad at his blue for long.
"Little wherry brained hatchling..." N'lon grumbled in affectionate contempt.

R'ner threw up his arms in victory. "R'ner, socre of one, N'lon, zero! Haha!" But still, he was smiling. And he offered the younger rider a hand up and N'lon grumbled about his dragon fondly.
"They're sneaky, aren't they?"

"Sneaky?! That little brat is learning bad habits!" N'lon said, using an Earth name he had heard someone make reference to after a prank pulled on them.
N'lon allowed the elder blue rider to help him up. He had the lakeweed in one hand, and once he was on his feet threw it at the man. "Ha! I got the mighty R'ner!" N'lon shouted before he turned at ran the other direction. A delighted smile on his face.

"Yaargh!" R'ner had honestly not been expecting that. It caught him full in the face, and as he yelped in indignation he fell backwards again, into the water. "Also, mighty? Really, do I come off as so pompous?"
A splash from nearby and the baleful green gaze of Noxceventh's good eye was answer enough. "I don't want to hear it from you, dragon." Noxceventh just sent a stream of bubbles from his nostrils and tilted his head at N'lon. "Oh, right, i should catch him, shouldn't I?"
With that, R'ner ran after the weyrling, looking rather ridiculous doing his knee-high jog though the deeper water.

N'lon laughed at R'ner's jog. At the same time N'lon had gone to the shallower water to avoid such a ridiculous picture. He was a good couple feet ahead of him, and gaining ground.
((sorry for the fail))
