The summer sun was comforatble, true, but there was just something about stealing fresh baked food from the kitchens. Yum. At least that's what she thought.
Who's she?
Why, that a very good question. she's the complete opposite of both HerMistress, Sennia, and her BigDarkSeeth. This one, was green, and overall the usual stereotype for Greens. Ditzy. Impatient. More than a little strange in the head. Yes. Oh yes, her name. Her name, I am proud to say, is Leaf.
So, there she was, sitting, hiding under a counter as the cooks shuffled back and forth as the prepared the midday meal for thhe Weyr residents. She was gazing hungrily at an apple pie that had come out of the over not to long ago, but long enough for it to cool enough for her to carry a good portion of it off with her.
But, it seemed that she would have to wait on her apple pie plundering planfor a while. For, even as she rose up to fly to it, she felt a famlier wave of emotions that meant but one thing. It was time for her Flight once more.
she did fly up, and did attack some food. But this was uncooked, some good steaks that had been marinating for the last few hours in its own blood. She wrinkled her nose against the taste, completely ignoring the startled cries and looks and panicked actions by those around her. Then she was up and in between.
She cried out, calling all those males her heard her to come and Catch her. She was actually above a stream not far form the Weyr, colorful flowers blooming on the tiny plateau.

[ooc: Pfft. This has been sitting around for too long.]
The metallic hide of a bronze flitter could be seen creeping around a corner. Boomerang was hungry, and he found that the kitchen was the perfect spot for him to sneak food, since his owner wasn’t about to give him any. The muscles rippled under his skin as the fire lizard crawled into the kitchen. Overhead, he saw another fire lizard with the same idea as him. The brilliantly green Leaf could been occasionally seen on the counter. Boomerang let out a raspy chuckle at the similarity in their thoughts, only to be startled into the air when Leaf made a show of attacking a couple of steaks in a pan.
Boomerang felt the urge to Chase, an unfamiliar urge, that he had to pause to think about for a second. While he stood there in his stupor, the green winked between. Moments later, her cry echoed through the weyr’s halls. Boomerang didn’t so much hear this call than he did feel the tug of her lust. The bronze crooned, flapping his wings to gain lost altitude, and giving the cooks a bit more of a fright. As one tried to chase Boomerang out with a wooden spoon, the crafty bronze fire lizard chirped, as if laughing at the cooks for their reactions.
Leaf would not wait for him, the bronze knew. He disappeared between with hardly more than a bugle, and came trumpeting out above the stream where Leaf was. Seeing he was the first of the suitors to rise to the occasion, Boomerang felt proud of himself. He reacted quickly, and that would earn him points, would it not? It was the bronze flitter’s first Chase, already he was showing signs of getting cocky. And why wouldn’t he? The first to show up, and he was a bronze, to boot. Leaf should feel honored to have him Chasing.

Leaf flew for minutes on end, waiting for another male to come to try and claim her. She'd zoom toward the Bronze, nip him, tease him, then she would zoom away again. She was flying, flying all around, flying, waiting for the others, but they never came only the bronze. She lost her patience suddenly (not to say she ever had any....) and flew up with a cry, flew almost vertical to the air, before chasing the water of the bubbling stream down...river? -stream? Hm. Whichever, she would not wait for anyone else; the Bronze would just have to catch her.
And when she said Catch, she meant Catch. Not exactly Chase, but Chase and Catch. He'd have to catch up with her and taken her by force....Ha! Let's see if he can.
Greens, after all, are supposed to be very fast; Bronzes are supposed to have the stamina, not speed.

Jas was flitting around just for funzies near the Weyr, his delicate frame twisting and looping through the air in complex patterns. He was halted in tom-foolery, however, when a piercing cry rang through the air and an enticing scent wafted by. A Green was Rising.
He winged swiftly through the trees to the plateau where he had heard the sound. Soon he saw the glowing glorious Green flitter-ess. The Blue crooned at her winsomeness and allure. Only then did he see the bronze. Ho he had gotten there first, eh? Well, so long as the Blue tried his hardest, he would be ok with whatever outcome. But endeavor he would for the emerald gem of a fire lizard that he so desired.
It seemed that he came just in time too, for even though there was only the Bronze (and he) Leaf had decided that she was done waiting. Oh beryl beauty! Jas would Chase and Jas would Catch!

For the moment, Boomerang was the only male who dared to Chase. He crooned to the female flitter, beating his wings at distant intervals--just enough to keep him in the air, but he moved at a snail’s pace. The bronze’s head twisted to follow Leaf as she darted through the air. That was the major problem here. Bronzes in a green’s Flight didn’t bode well if the green took to superior aerial acrobatics. Right now, the green was teasing Boomerang. She zoomed in close, only to turn away at the last second.
Without warning, Leaf angled straight up into the air, letting out a cry, and spun off towards the river below. Boomerang trumpeted out a bugle, performing a roll over to follow Leaf, and trailing after her in the standard Flight. Still, he was the only suitor, the only one that was willing to Chase, and he kept that mental superiority in his head. Those that tried to enter now would only receive a sharp reprimand from the bronze. Leaf put on speed, like a green typically would, leaving Boomerang behind.
His eyes swirling red, the fire lizard pressed his wings harder too, willing them to work faster than they should be allowed to. The green would not leave his sight, not as long as Boomerang could help it. He was content with how the Flight was going, with him being the only Chaser, until a nosy blue intruded. No, a blue would not have the upper hand. Growling, Boomerang eyed the blue. He showed that he was not afraid of the blue’s presence, spreading his wings to their fullest.
Boomerang trilled to the green, doing his best to keep her attention on him. He was bigger, stronger, and better than the blue that tried to enter. And he was late! Late, late, late. Boomerang was on time, reliable, and he always came back. He banked to the side, pushing himself forward until he was just at the green’s tail. Leaf! He practically called with his bugle. He was capable of keeping up and competing the blue.

Acrobatics? No, none of those. Mazes and tricks? Maybe. She definately liked the idea. Same with speed.... A race. Of types. Ha! This would be fun....
Leaf's looked over her shoulder, expecting only to see the Bronze that had answered her call. She did not expect to see a blue soaring after her. A blue was Chasing....But was s late! No! It would not be, not for him. She would drive him away, get rid of the impertinent latecomer who dared to show himself to her after she had waited so long!
With a scream of anger, she swung around where she was above the water and bared her fangs, slashing her talons as her wings beat in a heated frenzy and her eyes glowed and swirled with ever increasing speed. Her eyes baceme glowing red slits. Suddenly, they popped open, and she crooned to Boomerang, a image being sent to the both of the chasers.
The image said Whoever wins, wins her!
((Hah! How's them apples?))

Though Boomerang was not successful in keeping the female’s attention on himself--for she had clearly seen the late blue, he was satisfied with her reaction to him. Leaf didn’t welcome his arrival as well as the blue might have hoped. Instead, she angrily growled, spurring some force inside of Boomerang. He purred happily at that reaction, knowing that because she was already annoyed with the blue so early into the Flight, he would have a slight advantage, and that was always good. Leaf’s actions became more frenzied, and she picked up speed, darting away from the two males.
She crooned to the bronze, and he answered with a low trumpet. She knew he was here, and that he arrived before the blue. Boomerang kept an eye on the blue as they continued to fly, and Boomerang received the mental image from Leaf. A chase, an actual chase. Where the winner would win not only the race, but the right to the green. Baring his fangs in a growl, Boomerang glared at the blue. He lifted his wings, gliding for a moment, before snapping them shut against his back. He dropped, picking up speed at a break-neck pace. He was diving beneath Leaf and the blue, but the speed would be a second advantage. The bronze gave himself a couple of moments before angling upwards, gently unfurling his wings so that he arced up and towards the other two fire lizards.
Not quite caught up to the brilliant green, Boomerang took this extra momentum to pull himself close to the blue. Dangerously close, Boomerang’s wing tips were close enough to the rival male that one mistake would send them both spiraling to the ground. Pleased with the situation, Boomerang taunted Jas with a draconic chuckle, drifting upwards and over the smaller flitter. His mocking finished, the bronze gave his wings one good beat, speeding away from the trailing blue.

((i wrote this in the dentist office before getting a filling, so all my nervous energy is coursing through it. hope it makes a lick of sense >.> and sorry for taking so darn long))
When the radiant Green Leaf rounded on him with intent for blood Jas made an undignified squawk of utter confusion. Why was this beauty angered? The possibility that it could be his quite unfashonable tardiness never even crossed his mind.
The Blue watched the Bronze's flying for a moment, but then blocked him out. Catching a thermal, he soared higher and then made a move somewhat similar to his opponent's. But Jas was more daring. For instead of angling under the elusive emerald form he flew ahead and then closed his wings, dive bombing straight for where she would be in a few moments.
He missed. And there was that blasted Bronze again. He thought he was tough, getting so close, and his little taunts were just too much. Jas, in a burst of indignation, hissed menacingly at the other male and moved closer. He hoped to get him off balance, but he was already gone, shooting for the gem that should be the Blue's. He let out a growl in chagrin and dashed forward as well, using all of the areal grace that was natural for a Blue.
Jas caught up to the Bronze, if winded for it, and pushed closer to Leaf. He didn't care how close he came to knocking wings with his competitor; he knew what he was doing.

This Flight has been sitting around, unfinished, for far too long. Please wrap it up as soon as possible. Thank you!
