"The link is made after the hatching. The dragonet will emerge from the egg, approach its chosen. The eyes will whirl with rainbow colors and then they shall speak to theirs." Faizah explained.
She then turned to Tiffanie. "I'm not all that sure how they fly effectively for being so big. But they fly just as if they were the smallest of birds." She smiled at the recalled feeling of flying.

Frowning, Evander looked over at Tiffanie. “Aye. Hou wad such a large drahgon get aff the groun?” he muttered, tucking away Faizah’s comment for a later moment. Cocking his head, Evander started to walk around the white dragon, rubbing at his chin with his hand. “They communecate telepathecally. Et must hae sometheng tae dae wi tha’? Must be. Must be...” the candidate continued to talk, pacing around Surth.
Turning back to the Weyrwoman, Evander had to sidle out from behind the white in order to get a good look at Faizah. “But that’s nae whit ah was ahsking. Empression occurs after hatcheng, but hou dis the drahgon know whare thare rider es? Et must be some sort of entangeble... encorporeal feeleng? Thare must be a bond that es formed before the drahgon hatches.”
His eyebrows shot up as he had an idea. The Scot inched closer to the dragon once again, eager and hungry eyes trailing over Surth’s physiology. “Anatomy. Enteresteng. Nae ma subject, but et’s like sometheng oot o a science fection beuk.”

Tiffanie kept rubbing Surth's nose. "I don't think you're going to get a straight answer."
At least, not from this dragon. Maybe he really didn't know. He was, though...no. She figured she'd get, and be happy with, one of the green ones that were apparently so common.
"Look at the wingspan on him, though. I mean, the proportions are all right." Even if he was many times larger than any other flying beast, he was definitely made to fly.

"Oh yes. Proportions are always the same with pernese dragons. except once. Surth has a blue clutchmate that had a more serpentine body and larger wings. But that was the only time." Faizah said.
She had moved to lean against his foreleg, watching the two candidates.

The Scot glanced over at Tiffanie as she spoke. The new canidate was still around Surth’s snout, scratching at the white’s hide. “A straight ahnswer? Ah refuse tae be left en the dark! Ah well fegure et oot!” he declared, a determined look crossing his face. It was going to bug him for months on end, until he figured out the secret, or his dragon told him. Definitely. But Evander wanted that feeling of being right; he wanted to confirm the whole thing with his own mind.
A talk of proportions had Evander looking over Surth once more. Whether or not he was being creepy, this close to a dragon that was not his own, and just barely resisting the urge to climb all over the dragon in an attempt to figure out the unique anatomy. “Proportionally right, aye, but way too large tae fly... Et must be sometheng else. En no way shuid a beast o this size be able tae carry etself...” Still pacing around the white, Evander occasionally reached out as if to touch the dragon’s hide.
“Thay communecate telepathecally, do thay nae? Maybe that has sometheng to dae whit et? Larger brain capacety? No...” the candidate muttered to himself, though he was perfectly happy if the other two were listening in to his babble. “Thay must use more o thair brain than humans. Surely. Maybe... Because, ye see, the size o the drahgon es too large for et to carry et’s own weight. Lightweight and hollow bones? But...” Evander tilted his head, staring down at Surth’s legs.

"He's handsome, is all I know."
She did wonder, again, what it would be like to fly aloft with such a beast under her...of course, they would have to be careful. The Pernese dragons had to be a closely guarded secret...the militaries of other countries might steal eggs or something otherwise.
Yeah. That's how you'd have to do it. Steal eggs. She hoped they were well guarded, and not just by the dragon females.
