They were located on the wide open area just before the staircase leading to the lake. Ayrayith had insisted he just had to watch the sky from that specific place. Cold weather abound but Taylor, having grown up in such conditions, was lounging next to his Bronze in a tank-top and jeans. A bug settled on the Weyrling's arm and his hand flew down to squash it. Indignant huffing came from the hovering fire-lizard who'd been very intent on eating said bug.
"Don't get so touchy, Alien. Now come here." An arm was held aloft for her to land. Instead of landing, the Green hovered. And hovered. And hovered some more as she examined the offered arm from every angle. Ayrayith laughed which led to a startled Alien clinging to Taylor. Ha, T'ylor. I don't understand why she examines things so. The large Bronze shifted to turn his head toward the young man.
"I thought I told you to call me Taylor."
Any good male rider elides his name. As my rider, that means you must do so.
Taylor laughed. Loudly. He had never seen the reason to shorten his name. So far he hadn't met anyone from earth who had elided his name. Girls weren't required to while guys normally were. Preposterous really. Sometimes, Ayrayith would slip up and call him Taylor but that was rare. Always would the Bronze correct himself unless he was distracted.
Alien twittered lovingly though not to man she clung to. The sound was directed to his white shirt. Her favorite color and something she was incredibly possessive over was white (plus sparkly things). Twas strange to watch her chase after or nuzzle anything of the previously mentioned shade. Quite strange indeed.
