((ummm... i dont know if i should join at this point... but, well, i promised a Daniel and so a Daniel you shall have?))
Streeth was soaring through the sky, performing intricate and energy depleting twists and turns. The aches of fatigue that coursed through his limbs were glorious. He made a tight corkscrew for a landing in the feeding grounds to fill his now hungry belly. Daniel, now used to such maneuvering, was able to hang on without fear of falling and so noticed the two people standing off to the side of the pen and the other Blue that was chasing the cows. You should probably warn the Blue you are coming in for a speed kill. Now, when Daniel said speed kill, he really meant squash kill. But 'speed' sounds more majestic and slightly less gross than 'squash' and so that is the terminology used to depict racing through the skies nearly vertically down and landing on an unsuspecting animal. It was 'great fun' as Streeth liked to put it.
Oh, yeah. Thats a good idea...Hey, Blue! I am called Streeth! Im just warning you that im coming in for a kill and may...oh wait...thats a bad idea. Nevermind.
He then banked to the side and came in for a slower landing aiming for the side to drop off HisRider. Ummmm. ok? i suppose there is some logic for this one.
Well of course! if i had landed the way i had intended, i would have scared the animals witless and the Blue would have been out of fun! not to mention the crater that would have been formed in the middle of the feeding grounds!
Daniel could see how that made sense, but he had actually been looking forward to the jarring landing.
When Streeth touched down Daniel got off quickly. He wanted to go meet the other people!
Yay new people! Have fun, Mine. I will meet the Blue!
The dragon leaped over the fence and half glided to a nearby cow. It began lowing pitifully at its impending doom, but was cut off by a quick chomp to the trachea.
Hi again fellow Blue! It is a lovely day, yes? It is nice to meet you.
After he filled himself, he actually looked at the other dragon for the first time. He noted the damaged eye and wounded wing. He moved closer and cocked his head to the said in an awed tone, oooo! are those battle wounds??? In years to come you will be able to tell wonderful stories! He sat back on his haunches. You see this? he said sticking out his hind foot. The skin was slightly disfigured and the bone wasnt exactly as it should have been. This is from trying to fly too early. And this, He opened his left wing where there were a myriad of scars lacing the membrane and one of the finger joints was a little too short. This is from fighting a Cat from Southern to see how long i could last without getting hurt. I think i was.. ummm... two and a half months.
While Streeth was showing off his numerous scars, Daniel was shaking his head. He then addressed the other two people, fellow weyrlings by the looks of them. "Hello, My name is Daniel-er-D'niel. Sorry about Streeth, my Blue, he can be rather...innocent at times. If he is causing any problems, i can make him go fly tricks or something."
