Synth let out a low snarl, but since she closed her eyes against everyone, it was difficult to tell why she growled, or at whom. Instead, she waited for the doctor to finish her examination so she could get out of the rather uncomfortable situation. Her tail twitched restlessly like a cat's and she tried her best not to spring to her beloved's defense like she so badly wanted to. I am certain he will deserve whatever he recieves, Surth. I apologize forupsetting you and yours, though. He is rarely this rash. Synth opened one eye as she heard the audible crack that came when the Weyrwoman slapped K'ryn.
I warned you. She remarked to K'ryn rather sharply. He knew better, she was certain of the fact. And yet, he'd done it anyway. Well, she reasoned, he deserved it.
K'ryn just stood completely still, moving only to lightly rub his hand over the mark on his face. He'd definitely gone too far this time. And as much as he hated to admit it (pride, you know), he'd been delibeartely trying to anger the bronze weyrling. And he'd not accounted for the fact that the Weyrwoman had a good arm on her. Or that she'd actually react that way.
(It could be assumed that he'd been relying on an older way of thinking, since at Fort there was a much more determined heriarchy that possibly would have let him get away with that. Though since Faizah had been there the whole time, it was rather difficult to tell where his logic was coming from. Or even if it could be deifned as logic at all.)
Slowly, deliberately, and with obivous measure to his voice, he responded to his leader. "I have no proper defense, Weyrwoman." He said, trying to step away from her. Unfortunately, there seemed, SOMEHOW, to be a large waxy-green leg behind him keeping him from moving backwards. "I concede to your authority. Both of you." He said, as Synth's limb pushed him back nearer the angry woman. "Perhaps it would be bset if I were to take my leave now?"
He managed to look anywhere but at Faizah, avoiding eye contact quite well, and cleared his throat. "That is, if you would permit me."
And apologizing? Synth prodded, hinting quite heavily. "And after I apologize for disrupting your day and being no more mature than a self-entitled weyrbrat, m'lady."

Faizah took a step back, cursing under her breath while at the same time covering her mouth in horror. Surth? I've become my mother! Faizah looked at K'ryn out of the corner of her eye and with a severe paleness to her face. She blinked back the sudden tears of horror before she spoke. "I should be the one apologizing, K'ryn. It was I who was out of line for slapping you..." Faizah had been steadily backing up until her back hit Surth's flank, and only then did she stop trying to back away. She took comfort from Surth's presense behind her. "I am so sorry, K'ryn..."

K'ryn's eyes went wide at Faizah's reaction. "What? I mean, well, it hurt, yeah, but it was hardly undeserved." he stuttered quickly. And it was hardly the first time he'd been slapped. He sort of had a tendency to push things a bit too far; the Junior Weyrwoman at Fort had slapped him twice, and even once threatened to feed certain parts of his anatomy to tunnelsnakes if he didn't shut up. Even his wingleader had hit him more than once. (Actually, Van'gyr had a habit of whacking him upside the head anytime he stepped too far over the line. It had become almost a running joke with the rest of the wing.)
But he had never thought Faizah would have reacted this way. It seemed to have seriously upset her. He almost wanted to try to comfort her, but she'd been backing away just as he had been. "Please, don't think another second about it. I went to far, Weyrwoman, and you were well within your rights to do what you did. I certainly don't think you broke any rules, anyway, other than perhaps losing your temper." He shook his head. "Which was completely warranted considering the situation."

Faizah furiously shook her head. "No. Nope. Losing one's temper is never warranted. I was out of line." Faizah continued to shake her head even though she now stared at the ground in complete horror at her actions. She was glad her hair was long enough to hide her face as she tried to regain control of herself. Faizah decided she would ask the doc to take some blood samples from her, just to double check her hormones weren't getting out of control again.
Surth looked down at Faizah with worry whirling in his eyes. Then he looked at K'ryn and back to Faizah before confusion tinted his rapidly whirling eyes.

Synth cried out softly, eyes going a pale grey with worry and upset as she glanced between hers, the weyrwoman, and Surth. Surth? Please, tell your that she shouldnot worry. She has done no harm but to my dear one's ego, and she should not fret so! The green had stepped back from K'ryn, allowing him to move since he was no longer trapped between her forelegs, and she now crouched with her belly nearly scraping the floor, a submissive pose she had taken in mixed response to K'ryn's emotions and her own chagrin.
K'ryn pretty much agreed. "Faizah, please, don't worry!" He said, talking quickly with agitation. "Yes, admittedly, you lost your temper, if you really want to put it that way, but really, that shouldn't be something you react to like this!" He waved his hands frantically, trying to get his point across. "You didn't do any harm, and you're not still angry, are you? You would only have to worry if it happened all the time. But you're not a crazy angry person! You just..." he sighed, suddenly out of words.
"I just pushed you too far, and you snapped at me. I've done it more than once, and if you hadn't hit me, I'm rather sure that weyrling would have cornered me later and thouroughly thrashed me."

"Come on, Kyrinth! Whether you like it or not, you have to!" Lyrah's voice rang out sharply, causing several heads to turn. A large brown hatchling sat in the entrance, seemingly refusing to budge.
I don't have to go! it's not like they'll figure out anything new!
"They might, you stubborn little-"
Hey! I'm the one you're talking to!
"Exactly!"
Lyrah continued to push and shove behind him, even if it made no differnece. The brown dragon had grown to much since he had hatched at Fort Weyr. After struggling a little more, she stopped and slid down his smooth side. Please....she begged him. I'll....I won't force you to come again! Just this once! To herself she added, he doesn't have to come that often anyway, and I can talk to Faizah, maybe.
He swung his head around to face her, his milky eyes flitiing from one unseen area to the next. Maybe....Maybe not. It depends on my mood.
And what is your mood, love? she asked him, with a ghost of a smile starting to lift her lips.
Rebellious, he replied promtply.
Would you be so rebellious if I promised to give you a thorough scrubbing later? With the help of some adoring flits, and maybe the company of a few friends?
Maybe....
She grinned and stood. "Okay, then, you'd better start moving, or you won't get a bath at all!" He rumbled an affectionate laugh than let himself be moved farther into the infirmary.

((Is the doc finished looking over Synth?))
Faizah looked up and saw another Weyrling coming into the Infirmiry. The last thing she wanted was to be caught in her state of mind around another of her Weyrlings. That just would not do; oh no, not at all. So with a heavy mind Faizah just gave a small smile and turned her attention to Surth.
I am sure K'ryn still expects an answer. It is not very mature of you to just hole up like you have... Surth said, and Faizah was sure he would have cocked an eyebrow at her if he could have. Faizah Just continued to look at his wings, but sent Surth a mental image of her sticking her tongue out at him. Yes, very immature. She knew it, and didn't care at that moment.

K'riv was making his way to the infirmary with Molth in his powerful arms. His eyes were troubled as Molth mentally squealed in pain.
"Minesoul, I am sorry for troubling you. But I am in pain again. How much longer til we get to the infirmary?"
"I do not know, precious Molth. There seems to be a line."
He saw who he recognized as Faizah. He wasn't sure what to say to her.

After Kyrinth began to move, Lyrah grinned triumphantly and guided him to one of the waiting healers - excuse me, doctors. With a gentle slap on his flank, as well as a mock annoyed snort, Lyrah moved away patiently to wait for her dragon.
After a while, she became bored. Kyrinth, I'm going to walk around. Tell me when you are almost done, alright?
How can I tell you, when I don't know myself.
You're used to the check-up, dearest. You'll know!
He snorted them ignored her fully.
Chuckling, she went out the door of the Infirmary. She jogged down the lit passageway, faintly missing the glowbaskets of Pern. Thoughts of Pern, as usual, brought thoughts of Nathin, Emera, and their first son, Jurin. She smiled as she remembered the last letter from them, announcing thier now growing family.
Emeresed in these thoughts, she didn't see the weyrling in front of her until she ran into him fully, as well as the small dragon in his arms.
"Oof! I'm sorry, really!"

K'riv stumbled backwards, and barely recovered himself. He met the gaze of the girl who ran into him. He blushed slightly and readjusted his hold on Molth.
"S'okay. I'm fine. Is that big brown up there yours? This little guy here is Molth. I'm K'riv. Whats your name?"
Molth stared into Lyrah's eyes as well. He spoke directly to her.
"Hello there. I am M-M-Molth. I-I-I'm g-going to g-g-get my l-l-legs checked."
(OOC: Molth's defect also makes him mentally stutter.)

Lyrah helped the weyrling to his feet with a quick heave. "I'm Lyrah, and yes, the clumsy oaf over there is Kyrinth, my dragon. It's nice to meet you Molth, K'riv."
From were he stood, Kyrinth let out a growl of protest, snapping his head away from the doctor and pointing it in the general direction of his rider. Of course, it earned him a rather sound scolding from the doctor checkng his near blind eyes. I am not a clumsy oaf! he said to both dragon and riders. I am actually very neat on my feet. He sniffed with great disdain at Lyrah, making her giggle.
Shaking her head she grinned at K'riv.

K'riv smiled and set his dragon down for a moment and held his hand out to shake Lyrah's hand. Molth squealed from his place on the floor. He projected a mental message loud enough for Lyrah to hear him again as well.
"Mineheart, you KNOW it hurts me t-t-too WALK. PLEASE, minesoul, pick me back up so I do not hurt."
K'riv shed a few tears with the sheer intensity of Molth's pain and frustration. He clenched his fists and grit his teeth.
"Molth. Your pain and stress are overpowering me."

Lyrah frowned, worry shadowing her bright eyes. "Come on. You neeed to get into the infirmary, especially if it's hurting that much." She swooped down and, very gently and carefully, scooped the dragon up. She felt a faint hum of relief as the strain was lifted from his pain filled muscles.
I hope you do not plan to pay to much attention to him, Kyrinth said, faintly annoyed at the ammount of attention Molth was getting from Lyrah.
There is nothing wrong with helping a dragon in pain, Dearest. All Pernese know that! She flashed him a mock glare then carefully deposited Molth into his weyrmate's hands.

K'riv smiled softly at Lyrah, readjusting his grip on Molth. He sent a soothing thought to Molth.
"His defect makes it hard to walk. Something called Cerebral palsy."
Molth reached out to Kyrinth's mind, feelings of apology and embarrassment mixed in.
"I am sorry Brown Kyrinth. My d-d-defect causes me much pain in my legs and c-c-causes me t-to stutter. I am s-s-so sorry."

Kyrinth eyed Molth, with something akin to amusement.
There is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of, and nothing to apologize for either. Your infirmary is something you did not cause, just as I did not cause my own.
Kyrinth snorted as the exasperated doctor poked him, demanding him to be still. His nearly entirely milky white eyes rolled as he rumbled, but he did as ordered.
Lyrah grinned at her new friends. "Walking isn't as fun as everyone makes it seem anyway. It just tells everyone elseyou can work, and that you can work harder then you are. No fun at all.
"Kyrinth over there retracted a bad fever when he was a few months old. Took away most of his sight."

K'riv nodded and received a nudge under his chin from Molth. K'riv looked down at his young brown. Sometimes he felt blessed to have met Molth. He was very close with his tiny brown.
"Yeah. They told us that it would take a lot of medication, therapy, and encouragement for him to function right."
Molth trilled to Kyrinth softly. He didn't understand much of the world, but he knew that here he would make friends and flourish.
"Oh? What happened to bring you here, Brown Kyrinth? I am very young, only 2 days old, so I do not know much."

"Oh, you poor things!" Lyrah exclaimed, blinking sympathetically at both dragon and rider. "You know that some say beinf in water help this sort of thing. Something about feeling weightless...."
Kyrinth aswered almost immediately. Well . . . . I was several months old, I became very feverish. The fever took away most of my sight. They make me come several imes a week to see if my sight is better or if the fever might come again.

K'riv nodded and smiled. He stroked one of Molth's headknobs. He could feel Molth relaxing in his arms.
"I may try that. Thanks, Lyrah."
"That must be hard on you. I can see why it would worry Yours. Mine gets worried about me very easily."

Kyrinths murky eyes whirled slightly, causing the doctor to scowl once more. It is the nature of Ours to get worried. They would be of no use otherwise.
He let Lyrah hear this comment, as well as K'riv. There was a teasing quality to his rumbling voice.
Lyrah glared at him. Out loud, she replyed hotly "And you are no use if you get sick on me and die."
After a few more moments of glaring at her young dragon, she turned back to K'riv, shaking her head helplessly. "Come on. Molth needs to get his check-up, and we can talk while we wait."

K'ryn had been a little busy, so he didn't immediately notice the weyrlings. Synth was folding her wings back and edging around Surth to the large hall just beyon the exam room (for it was certainly necessary to have a VERY large waiting room when your patients were this size) when she spotted the large half-blind brown being examined, and the small trembling one in the arms of His. Ah. Pardon me, brown ones. I did not see you. She said politely, leaning her head in to get withing a realatively close distance to the smallest brown. You hurt, little one. I am sorry. Her mental voice carried tones of sympathy to the little weyrling, and she dipped her head before moving out of the way.
K'ryn sort of followed, but he stopped to glance over his shoulder at Faizah. "Er. Oh, gnee. People, sorry." He stepped to the side, giving the young girl and boy a distracted smile. "I really am sorry. I don't want to upset you, I swear. I just...can't help it, sometimes, you know?"He looked sheepish, and ran his fingertips over the red mark on the side of his face. "Don't feel bad or anything."
He then turned and winked at the weyrlings. "And you two; don't piss off the Weyrwoman! She's got a fierce right hook."

Faizah smirked slightly, looking at K'ryn from the corner of her eye. She sighed, then turned to face him. "I'm fine now. Let's just put this behind us, eh? But don't argue with Lawrence anymore. Please." She smiled slightly as she said it, a little more sweetly than she meant. What was she thinking? She suddenly thought to herself.
I believe you have feelings for the boy. Surth interjected.

K'ryn beamed happily. "Alright. No hard feeling on any counts, and I swear on my honor as a Rider to keep my temper around even the nastiest of Weyrlings."
Synth rounded on him and let out a disapproving growl. Behave. There is no need to insult anyone, my love. "Yes, Synth. I hear and obey." K'ryn shot back jestingly. The ghost-pale green just snorted and glanced over at Surth. Humans.

Faizah looked between K'ryn and Synth, her eyebrow cocked. She then turned back to K'ryn. "What did she say?" Faizah asked curiously. At that moment Surth sent her an image Faizah had often projected to him while reading one of her favorite books. It was a simple image of a couple cuddling on a couch, watching a calming movie in candle light.
Faizah's face went blood red in embarrassment. She shot Surth a glare that would have gave dare-devil Kain goose bumps. Surth gave the dragon equivalent of a chuckle. Is that not what you wish to do with him?

"Ah, something about how us fleshy bipeds are silly, or something. She's just being herslef." K'ryn cocked an eyebrow at the Weyrwoman as she turned a fantastic shade of crimson, and laughed. "Wow, Faizah. Now THAT is impressive. Is Synth saying inappropriate thins again?" He teased. He took a more comfortable stance against the wall, looking almost disgustingly amused by the situation.
Synth glanced over at Surth, and made a pleased rumble. It shouldn't have been possible, but the green was definitely smirking. Oh, it was not me.

Faizah fought the urge to hide her face in her palms in sheer humiliation. "No. Not Synth. My very own Surth... Determined to be the end of me..." Faizah looked at the floor, trying to stop her maddening blushing. However, that tactic was epic fail. If anything, her face became even more red as her treacherous mind began to play the entire scene from the book. Faizah got aggravated and violently shook her head, trying to dislodge the images that she did not need floating about her mind. She suddenly stopped and glanced at K'ryn. He was more than amused by her situation, made worse by her head shaking. Oh shit. Faizah thought to herself.
