Mentari blushed, breathing heavily from the scare of almost falling. "Thanks..." Mentari said, a little breathlessly. Mentari knew that Tad was in quite a position. He could do many things. But Mentari kinda wanted him to sweep her off her feet. The very idea of it made her feel like a princess. But she didn't dare say that out loud. She might sound like some star-struck child! But Mentari didn't move. She waited for Tad to make the next move. ((He can sweep her off her feet ))

Tad grinned and then scooped Mentari up into his arms. "Let's leave our playful companions to fly themselves back to the Weyr," he whispered in her ear.
He left no doubt as to his intents, although any no, no matter how softly spoken, from the woman he held would be respected. He could never hurt Mentari, not deliberately, and he wanted to make this work. Not for today, not for tonight, not even for this week or this year. Was he in love? He wasn't sure, but sometimes that uncertainty made a stronger foundation than passion, which might well fade and die.
Without, though, entirely waiting on her response, he started to walk back towards the warm buildings, where there was warmth, hot chocolate and possibilities.

Mentari laughed as Tad swept her off her feet. Literally. She wound her arms around his neck, laying her head on his broad shoulder. She nodded when Tad whispered to her. "I agree." She smirked without looking up at him.
She didn't care where they went once they reached the Weyr. She only cared that she was with Tad. And he was carrying her, like a prince did a princess. Or, a little less fantasy, a groom carried his bride. Mentari didn't think about it in marital terms. She had never thought about being married at all. But love...?
Mentari had thought about love a good deal. She had never felt it, other than the sisterly and almost maternal love she felt for Faizah and Lakeen. But she really really liked Tad. Eventually, she might even call it love. At that moment, however, she didn't care what she called it.
Mentari just wanted to get into one of their weyrs, get out of the heavy winter clothing, and cuddle with Tad. And further possibilities were open...

OOC: Hrm. Who's weyr do you think would be closest?

((I know in Ladeth's flight he mentioned he knew where her Weyr was. So I'm guessing going to hers would work better...))

OOC: Works for me.
After a moment of thought, Tad murmured. "My Weyr is right on the other side of Rocky. Is yours closer?"
Hey, it was cold...and there were certain other things that could cause a man to wish haste, although rushing...no, rushing was not good either. Even through the heavy clothes she wore, real or imagined warmth from Mentari's body flowed through him. What had he done to deserve this? To deserve a yes from her?
(It did not even occur to him to wonder what the Weyrwoman might think about their liaison, sister or no sister. Nor did it occur to him what any of his own relatives might think. The only thing he was thinking of was Mentari).
Back at the lake, Kimath blew more bubbles at Ladeth. The riders were going off to play, so he was going to play with Ladeth. It made perfect sense to *him*.

Mentari nodded. "Inside, just up the stairs, second one of the right." She murmured to him, still clinging to his neck.
It did not occur to Mentari about what her Faizah would do if she knew about her and Tad. But at that moment, Mentari didn't care about anything else but the man who carried her. For it being so cold outside, Mentari felt a strange warmth. She wondered if Tad felt it too, but decided to wait until they had reached her weyr to ask.
Ladeth blew bubbled back at Kimath, willing to play this calm little game. She wished MentariHers fun with Kimath's rider.

Tad carried her up the stairs, not thinking about any consequences, not right now, his heart beating faster in his chest. She wanted him. She really wanted him. Part of the young bluerider did not want to believe this.
She wanted him and if he was really lucky her dragon would want his dragon - it was supposed to be quite spectacular with somebody you already liked, already wanted, already cared about.
As he cared about her, even if this seemed to be happening fast...no, it had merely been delayed. Delayed by the needs of young dragons, by the patterns of time and growing up.
He had, though, to set her down to get the door open - so much for carrying her across the threshold bridegroom style.

As they reached her door, Mentari reached out and turned the handle, opening the door without Tad having to put her down. She liked being in his arms too much to allow him to put her down. Not at that moment, anyway. She wanted him to hold her as long as he would...
After opening the door, Mentari twined her arms around his neck again. She really was beginning to think she loved this guy. Not only a guy, a man. She wondered why she hadn't felt anything like this towards him before now. But she knew. These feelings had been... what was the word... delayed? Yes, these emotions had been delayed. By Ladeth and Kimath, by Tad and herself. Even a bit by Faizah and their mother...
Mentari leaned up and pressed a light kiss to Tad's lips.
