Out of curiosity, because I like to know where the inspiration for my dragonets come from, how did you decide on Gyerjtackalanth as a name, and was there any inspiration for her personality?

I was on seventh sanctum, looking up names for a character's parents names on another weyr, when I see this "Gyerjtacka". Add "-lanth" and I had the perfect name for your dragon, since you wanted complicated. As for her personality, I wanted her to pretty much be the opposite of Isath. Well, the green side of Isath.

Okay. So this week has been horrible. Another blood transfusion, this time 4 bags of blood, and I'm told that I'm bleeding for a different reason than what I've been led to believe for 10 years. So next week I go to see a Hemotologist, a blood doctor. And there is a possibilty that I might have a form of bone cancer. And if not that then my bone marrow is simply failing. Anyway. Tonight is awesome. The guy I've been talking to almost every night for months is apparently in love with me. Although he won't admit it. It's awesome. It's epic. And I could arguably be the happiest person in the world right now.

Wow... Just read that post I made back in Febuary... Now I see why he won't talk to me anymore... ANYWAY! I'm using this again because stupid Job Corps computer blocked the cbox from me. So any questions you need answering, post them in here and not the cbox. Because I can't answer in the cobx and spending twenty minutes on my cell phone just to see what you guys have been saying is getting old. Wolfy - Yes. I will count that thing you're in for points towards the advertisment contest. Once I get it going, of course. Neither you nor Stormy can help me with it either since you will be participating in it. But I would like your help with other things I plan on doing to revive Rocky. I have an idea for a Weyr Gather, inviting other Weyrs and their Riders to Rocky for fun and such. I'm also thinking of putting on a Rocky Holiday Party, but that has to wait for us to get some more people in here. Green Virisk is going to have her first clutch, fathered by Blue Trinsk, since he was the only wher to Chase. I'm planning on a very big surprise for her clutch, maybe two. Since we don't have many active members right now I'm going to close the monthly nominations and awards. Once we get enough active people for them, they will start back up. Gold Xenith flies on the 16th, and sometime before that Green Love flies as well. Isle needs to start seeing a little bit of attention as well. Unless Samari returns in time for Lothaia to have her baby, once we get the IC dates rolling again, I'm just going to say the baby was a stillborn. If she does return by then, more power to her. I need to get a Weyr-wide message/email out to tell our members that we are trying to come back to activeness. I'm also going to have Gold Reyna fly soon, see if we can intice some new members with a possible gold flitter, even if I have to have my own bronze flit win the flight just this once. When I figure out how to change the side bars I'm going to get our IC date rolling, but for now we are saying we are in September of 2011, since thats when the last hatching was. Any dragonette/wher hatched then will remain that age and etc, etc, etc. Also, once I figure out the sidebars, I'm going to add more dragons and flits available for new members. If there is anything else I need to do and forgot to mention, tell me please. On the same note, if there is any other activity you think we should do that would help Rocky come back from the almost-dead, post it here and we can talk it out. Thanks guys  |

So I got a e-mail from Topaz and Phazzy. Topaz might not be coming back at all, and Phazzy doubts she will be able to get back as a staff if she returns at all. Both are swamped with college work, but both have offered to help with any questions I have. Which is wonderful. I'm still waiting for a reply from Houka. I'm thinking of messaging our more literate members to see if they can come back. Especially Red and Waffelz, since they have gold dragons and flits. I'm also going to message some of our more active members, once I get a chance. I need to get a massive and persuasive e-mail out there. But for now, I think I have a way to get us a gold egg in the sands |

I'll have a hard time getting on after the 8th, cause classes end. I'll try to get on as often as I can, but I'll throw the warning out that it may be infrequent until we get internet back. So if I don't show up for the next month, that's why. Classes resume on January 17th.

Ok. Not a problem, although I hope you'll be able to get on and all. If Wolfy would post I could close up Reyna's flight so we don't have that sitting around forever and a day...
I e-mailed all the members that actually used to RP here. Couldn't get a hold of Waffelz or blackmage; their e-mail addresses are no longer valid or have been changed. But everything else went through. I hope to see some of them coming back on... T.T

As do I, for both getting on and seeing people come back. Rocky needs a good revival, and I'm thinking of bumping that post I made on Gaia to get it back up into the mainstream thread count again. Cause I think it's been pushed back a couple pages despite being only a day-ish old. Cause forums hate me like that...

I hada horrid day today.
Faizah, I do not know or understand how you deel with blood transfusions. I scream at the sight of a flu shot. Seriously.
My mom took me and my sister to the doc office today because Regan has been coughing really badly lately. Ends up she has pnuemonia and bronchitis. While we were there my mom decided that we all needed flu shots. BAD IDEA. I got that wierd twitch in my leg first. Then my teeth started chattering. And then the nurse came in holding the shots. I started to cry. She wiped my skin. I started to shake.
She took the needle out.
I panicked. I tensed up and every time she tried to grab my arm I would jerk, until finally I started to struggle, crying the entire time. She ended up having to go get backup to hold me down;even that didn't work! I started kicking and punching and trying to get away. Until finally the doc came in to seewhat all the screaming was about.
So one thing led to anothe and a fifteen minute appointment turned into an hour and a half, most of it taken up by me freaking out. I didn't even end up getting the shot! I got the nasal spray instead. So that is how I spent my day. I found out I have a deathly phobia of needles.

I'm sorry you had a bad day. The only reason I'm good for transfusions is because I've never had a problem with needles. As a kid I used to ask if there were any shots I needed. My insane curiousity usually helped too...

Lol. I'm not quite that bad. I already had my flu shot, and my depo shot. I'm actually trying to avoid getting stabbed with needles these days. Although I did volunteer my vein to a friend for her CMA class. She had to practice drawing blood |

Wolfy, I know this sounds personal, but have you considered therapy. Turning into a wreck over shots is definitely a life-effecting phobia. You should seriously look into desensitization therapy. It does work.
(I used to be pretty bad, but I managed to get over it on my own when I had sufficient motivation, namely three monthly blood tests (down to annual now, thank all the gods)).

Believe it or not, I have. I visit two docs a month an take antidepressants and anxiety meds. The shots were just too much for me though. Its gotten worse over the years. I used to have to get shots every summer so that I could come visit my bstard father here in the states.

I'm mentally unstable. But I'll be damned if I go to ANOTHER shrink... All they do is tell me I'm depressed, put me on pills that I DON'T need, and tell me never to see them again.
