I am planning two transferred Pernese weyrlings, and I have a few questions.
One is a greenrider pair, of which the green is rather socially inept. At six months old, she followed her rider to a Gather, where she was quite a nuisance. To top it off, she asked why a Lord Holder's pregnant wife looked like a barrel. This wouldn't have been quite so much a problem if she wasn't so friendly that she broadcasts to everyone in the vicinity, much like a human's voice would. The Lord Holder was very offended, and the pair were transferred to Rocky because there are umpteen squillion greens and the Weyrs need to maintain good political relations with the Holds. On a related but separate note, her rider's name is L'yárë - and he point blank refuses to change it - so if they are accepted, the Admins might want to use proboards' nifty little censorship tool to automatically add the accent marks for people.
The other weyrlings are a brownrider pair. The rider has managed to set up a romantic relationship with the abovementioned greenrider, although it's certainly not physical (yet) because of their dragons' ages. The brown was 14 months at the time of the Gather Incident. The pair are normal, if a bit eccentric, but wanted to stay with the transferred green and her rider, and thus petitioned to be transferred with them. Needless to say, they were turned down. Their response was to promptly go on strike, not leaving their weyr or communicating with anyone for anything short of basic necessities or helping with Threadfall, and putting a sign on their door saying that they would stop when the Weyrleaders agreed to transfer them to Rocky. My question here is, is this enough to get them transferred? If so, how long will they have to stay on strike? If not, would taking the stuffiest bronzerider in the Weyr and dying/painting his bronze green with silver squiggles work?
