Weyrling Ku'rt and Blue Aricoth
After Weyrwoman Faizah's brief explanation of what was going on, and what everyone was to do, complete with Ku'rt hugging his cold body tightly, L'gar took over. He divided the riders and weyrlings into different wings, each with their own direction and assignments. Ku'rt nodded when the Weyrling Master mentioned the cold weather. As if the weyrling didn't know. It was raining--there was a storm, and the town was flooding. "Alright, Weyrling Master..." Ku'rt said with a nod. Come on Aricoth. We gotta get ready to pick up refugees.
But Ku'rt... How will we be able to see them? I can't see... And it's raining hard. You won't be able to see either. The Blue shifted, his tail twitching slightly. Can we bring Luna along? I think she could help, Aricoth suggested, mentally calling the green flitter over without waiting for Ku'rt.
Heh all right. We can bring Luna. But don't worry, Aricoth, I'll be there, and there will be other dragons as well. They can help if we need it. We're not going alone. Ku'rt was quick to spring into action, making his way straight to Aricoth, and where Luna now was situated. "Got the coordinates from Zedoreth? Now, we've never gone between before, but it should be fine... Just concentrate. I'll help," Ku'rt said, climb up the blue's back, and hanging on as he rose into the air, then disappeared between.
Weyrling Hy'ka and Blue Brynath
L'gar explained the duties of everyone, and Hy'ka listened with only a smidgen of interest. He was like the greenrider--he wanted to get up and get things done instead of sitting around and talking about it. So when the L'gar gave him his assignment of staying behind and assisting in the kitchen, Hy'ka's jaw dropped. He didn't even get to go to the town to help out? Instead some blind dragon and His got to?
Peace, Hy'ka. You know I'm not as old as the blue... It wouldn't be safe for me to fly and carry a passenger, let alone you. Be happy that we get to at least do something! Brynath exclaimed, chuckling a bit at his rider's anger. Now don't wait up. Go to the kitchens, and be of some use. I'll be outside to help those dragons flying in, the blue said, unfurling his wings slightly to put them into a better position along his back. He stood up on all fours, and paced away from the other dragons, keeping out of the way of those taking off.
Whatever you say, Brynath, Hy'ka thought with a frown. I'm not too great of a cook though... Maybe I can just serve food instead? And be like you, helping everyone in. Hy'ka's eyes followed riders and weyrlings alike as those going to the town left to climb aboard their dragons. Good thing he wasn't in the groups that were going to spend a better portion of their time outside in the rain.
Weyrling Lawrence and Bronze Elonverrilth
With a sigh, Lawrence took his assignment. He going to be a greeter to those brought in as refugees. Great. Wonderful. He got to figure out who needed the most attention, or who needed what. He got to work with people whom he didn't want to work with. "Awesome," the weyrling said crossing his arms and glancing over his shoulder at Elonverrilth with the other dragons. At least you don't have to fly, right? Especially with your wings and all.. he trailed off. Lawrence went over to the bronze's side, standing under his outstretched wing.
At least this way we're not flying in the rain. Plus, you can also work on your people skills, Elonverrilth said, his head tilting to look down on the weyrling. And you can stand under my wing like so, so you don't get too soaked. Others can do this too... I don't mind. The bronze grunted, lowering himself to the ground so Lawrence could climb up. He placed his wings on the wet ground, and carried Lawrence to a respectable spot just outside the main hall. Where we can be seen...
"I'm looking forward to it, Elon..." Lawrence muttered, ducking his head to keep it somewhat out of the rain.
Rider Z'volm and Green Crucith
Though he managed to draw a few annoyed stares, Z'volm rolled his eyes. So what? They couldn't stand around doing nothing... Arguing would get them nowhere, even laid-back Z'volm knew that. L'gar assigned him and Crucith to Kain's wing, at which the greenrider grinned. "Wonderful. The Weyrleader..." he trailed off. Come on, Crucith. We must not be left behind with the other dragons. We're going to the town to help there. Z'volm took at look at his attire. Meh. A little rain never killed anyone.
The green growled from her spot. It didn't hurt anyone either, she commented. Well hurry up then, Z'volm. If you don't want to be left behind, then you better pick up the pace yourself. I have the coordinates. Let's go. Her wedge-shaped head followed Z'volm as he walked over, and nimbly climbed up her foreleg to sit on her back.
"No more waiting then... Come on," Z'volm urged the green to take off, patting her neck gently. "To the town!" Crucith growled, and flapped her wings, rising into the air and winking between without a second thought.
Historian Rafael
The historian had hung back during the briefing, since he felt out of the loop on account of not being at the weyr twenty-four seven, like the rest of the residents were. However, his name was including in the list of those to help at the weyr, and Rafael perked up. He could be of some help, even if it was only a little bit? He was on supply run: he was going to be a mediator between the other duties, as well as a helper in making sure everyone had enough supplies. "I'd be honored to help...!" the German said with a smile, stepping forward from his spot in the back.
He watched as the weyrlings and riders scrambled about. He wasn't one with an exact duty, but he did feel a bit out... He looked around for a second, seeing everyone else busy at the moment. As of now, Rafael didn't have much to do. Everything was going smoothly.
