Mentari was indeed surprised when the precious green Impressed to her. Then a large smile graced her young face and she hugged the small neck of the green before her. She noticed the darker green ring and line around Ladeth's eye, and found it intrigueing. "Let's go and get you something to eat, Ladeth." Mentari led Ladeth over to where the other weyrling were feeding their partners. The gathered Pandora family gave her their brightest smiles, and even the stoic Kain smirked as she passed them. --------------- Another of Jadavth's eggs began rocking, side to side with an attention snagging determination. Bits of the shell began falling away, some of them landing a foot or too from the egg as it forcefully rocked. After another instance it lost its place in the sand, rolling down the small mound of sand that had warmed it. The egg stopped, and with a final shake it finally hatched. A brown was revealed, quickly scrambling to his feet and looking about him. With a strut that told of a strong will, determination, and independence the brown approached one of the Pernese boys. He looked up at the boy with eyes swirling the rainbow colors of Impression, at the same moment he spoke to His. What is it mineK'rotn? Brown Fahgilth has chosen you. I am hungry. Let us be gone from this chaos and feed.- Fahgilth 461D02 (Main) 713D1B (Markings) "Independent, Strong-willed, Determined, Caring" - Hatchling Size: Five Feet Long - Adult Size: Thirty-one Feet Long - Markings: Stripe down back that wraps around to cover the tip of the tail - Impressed to: K'rotn (Formerly Korotn, NPC Pernese Candidate)

Looking up suddenly from her boo at the sound of a raspy bugel, panic flooded through K'asta. "Oh crap! I'm late for the hatching!" "Come on Briket!" Her flit, who had been circling, shot away to the hatching sands, his owner close behind. Running as fast as she could, she tore through the halls and out to the hatching sands, where she nearly ran over a blue hatchling. Their eyes locked and suddenly K'asta's mind was filled with a pitiful voice. K'asta! K'asta! Perarth! Carefully, the girl scooped up her new little hatchling, holding him close to her chest. Perarth sighed contentedly. Food? I'm hungry! K'asta laughed. "Alright, sorry for making you wait. Let's go, Briket! This way!" The smalle firelizard swooped onto her shoulder and the trio made their way to the kitchens.

Lorelei had about given up. Her chances of impressing were slim, she thought. She had six mini-drag-...fire-lizards she corrected herself quickly. She had he flock of them, and she began to almost think she was selfish for even harboring the idea of trying to claim one of the drgaons as her own.
But a glance over her shoulder at the lean shape of Azulith above and the way A'shan smiled whenever the big blue was around made her even more resolute. She had to try, or why even bother? She wasn't the type to give up. And if no dragon chose to select her as it's partner, well so be it!
She stiffened her posture, ignoring the pain in her knee from the disastrous stair incident earlier. She stood firmly, refusing to give up. Instead, she let the happiness of the occasion wash over her, watching as little dragons found their perfect partners.
A sweet little blue politely found his partner in a girl who had been seeming as if she too had been losing hope, and Lorelei smiled. Soon after, a minty green found her bond-mate in a Pernese boy, and an apple-colored green made her laugh with her antics and her persnickity actions. The hot sands burned her through her shoes, and she fidgeted slightly. No, she thought, she wouldn't show her discomfort. This was worth it.Another green hatched, and for a moment, she harbored a flame of hope, only to smile wistfully when the green marched defiantly to another Pernese boy and chose him with a look that defied anyone to try to tell her otherwise.
And then two eggs shattered at the same time, leaving a stunning pair of a dark ocean-blue and a jungle-green. They acted similarly, careful and elegant as anything she'd ever seen. They moved like cats, like, like... she had no way to compare them, but they were more refined and beautiful so far than any of the other hatchlings she'd seen. Lorelei watched as the female dragonet selected her companion with great dignity, and she nodded slightly to herself. So be it. She looked around, trying to decide who among the candidates the regal blue would choose. She began to grow angry, almost, because she could see no one around who she could find would be worthy of such a magnificent creature, and she frowned. Jutting her chin out, she stood defiantly, waiting to see who the blue would choose.
Many stood around him, but he ingored them all, searching out someone with a definite purpose. She admired his calm determination, and the grace that belied his youth. He was certainly the most handsome of all the dragons she'd seen, even the metallic ones and the huge grown dragons that she was ever so slowly getting used to.
You there. Why do you stand so proud? Is your pride strong? What about your will? Your Jerezeth will expect nothing less than perfection from one I have put my pride in. Lorelei, I have decided to be proud of you, for you were chosen by me. That is no small feat.
Lorelei looked down, only to find the blue dragon sitting before her. Their eyes met and she hazarded a tiny smile. Crouching down, she reached out a hand, the stopped. When the blue nodded ever so slightly then, she continued, placing a hand on his neck. "Me? My pride is everything I have, Jezereth." She said, voice soft and even, but breaking with unspoken emotions. "My will is what I have to use to protect my pride, so yes, it too is strong. And if you ask for perfection of me, mate, I'll do everything to make you proud too."
Yes, you will do well by me. However, I hunger and would appreciate a meal. Jezereth's strong, calm voice washed over her like a tidal wave and Lorelei could only smile and try to fight back tears. She'd been fighting her whole life for people to acknowledge her, to gain acceptance and respect. All she had ever worked for was the abilty to stand on her own, to support herself and to be able to be her own person, so that no one could ever tell her what to do or how to do it.
But it was different now, she realized. With Jezereth, she knew she had found someone who would always be proud of her, no matter what, someone whose love and faith in her made her a thousand times stronger than she could ever have been on her own.
The little blue gentleman was hers, and she his, and Lorelei couldn't think of anything more perfect in the world. STraightening out, she placed her hand along his neck. He nodded gracefully and stood as well, and, as if by some unheard signal, they headed toward the feeding area, walking quietly and elegantly in sync. Around the pair, six smaller figures in all shades of blue, green, and brown chirped and sang happily, and Lorelei just smiled like an idiot and tried her best not to fall.
