M'aati gasped desperately for air as Herath brought them out of between. Shells but he hated between. So cold and dark and though he was perched atop his girls, he couldn't feel that physical contact with them, though their minds remained as close as ever. This trip had taken longer than he'd expected, though really, he didn't know what to expect from a trip between. They had only barely started to learn such jumps. As soon as it had been proven they could safely make a trip through that nothingness, they had been sent here.
It is okay M'aati. We are here now Nylath's soft gentle voice spoke to him. Herath snorted as they hung high over the weyr, her head turning this way and that as she surveyed what would be their home now. Strange place. Still, anything would be better than Ista and those self-righteous tailforks who tried to take our M'aati away from us
We should land Nylath suggested. Herath didn't say anything, but then, the twins had never needed to use words with each other. Their wings shifted, and the pair circled down towards the ground, landing neatly in the flat open space which was clearly intended for such a purpose.
As M'aati unbuckled himself from the modified riding harness and slid the the ground he wondered aloud "Who do you think will greet us?" One would assume what ever passes for a weyrwoman or weyrleader around here Herath said huffily, eyeing the various weyrs. M'aati? what is this white stuff? Nylath was examining the ground. "I think that's snow Nylath. I've never seen it before though..." The young man shivered and pulled his fleece lined riding jacket tighter around himself. Shards but it was cold here, nothing at all like Ista's weather, where it was warm even in the depths of winter.

Faizah saw the landing of the green pair she had been expecting. Having just finished oiling a scratchy spot on Surth's hide, she quickly volted onto her white. As Surth launched himself into the skies, Faizah asked him to call Gorth and Kain as well. Surth gladly complied.
Gorth. You and yours are needed to welcome a weyrling pair in the Weyrbowl. Faizah asks you to come now. Surth relied to them.
We come. Was all Gorth said in reply.
Faizah, watching from the skies, saw Gorth and Kain leave their ground level weyr and head for the newcomer. She smiled, thanked Surth, and asked him to land. Surth did so, landing smoothly a few feet to the right of the pair. Faizah dismounted, patting Surth's foreleg, and approached the pair.
"Weyrwoman Faizah of Rocky, rider of white Surth! We have been expecting you." She greeted them.
Kain and Gorth arrived at that moment, Gorth sidling up to Surth. Kain approached as well, greeting the boy standing next to the conjoined greens. "Weyrleader Kain of Rocky, rider of bronze Gorth. Welcome."

M'aati watched as a pair of dragons came out to greet them. He'd heard stories about Rocky Weyr, but had little in the way of actual facts about the place. It seemed that at least one of those stories were true, because this first dragon he'd seen here, was a massive white beast, at least as big as some of Ista's queens and bronzes were. Only moments later another dragon made an appearance, another massive beast, this one being a handsome red coloured bronze.
The two riders approached him, a man walking alongside the bronze and a red-headed woman slipping from the back of the massive white. He was somewhat surprised when they introduced themselves as the weyrleaders. A white and a bronze? Things really didn't work here the way they did at home.
He gave the pair a formal bow. Formality was best right now. It wouldn't do to be making enemies of the, what was that earth expression he'd heard? High and Mighty? Yes. It wouldn't do to be making enemies of the high and mighty so soon after arriving. They might try and send him back. As freezing cold as it was here, and M'aati couldn't seem to stop shivering, the last thing he wanted was to be sent back to Ista. They had made it very very clear that he and his dragons were not welcome there.
"I am M'aati" He introduced himself as he straightened up, and then lay a hand on each of the green marked muzzles which come to hover on either side of him, as the twins took up a protective stance behind him "And these are Herath and Nylath" Herath always got bitchy if her name wasn't was first one given. M'aati supposed he was fortunate that gentle Nylath didn't mind always being the second one introduced.
Yup. Definitely strange Herath made it sound like an insult. Please Herath Nylath eyed her sister Don't pick fights with the weyrleaders. For M'aati's sake if nothing else.

Faizah nodded as the weyrling introduced himself and his dragons. Faizah's curiousity had been peaked when she read the request that a pair of conjoined twin greens and their rider be transferred. Never had she seen conjoined twin dragons. Which explained why her green eyes were roaming over the greens now.
Kain wasn't quite as perplexed and lost in thought as Faizah was. He reached a hand out to M'aati for a handshake. "Nice to have you at Rocky. Let's head inside, get you warmed up and comfortable, and you can tell us about yourself and your dragons?" Kain suggested.
Faizah seemed to compose herself again, smiling apologetically at M'aati. "If your greens, Herath and Nylath, are hungry they can help themselves to the feeding pens. Surth wouldn't mind showing them to the pens." She offered.
((Sorry for short post.))

M'aati looked at Kain's hand for a moment, a puzzled expression on his face, before remembering that he was supposed to shake it. After a moment of hesitation, he reached out and took the bronze rider's hand, his cheeks flushing slightly as he shook hands with the other man. He wasn't sure what he had been expecting from the weyrleaders, but this, what ever this was, was not it. While he wasn't too comfortable with the way the Weyrwoman was looking at his girls, the Weyrleader was so far seeming to be quite a pleasant man.
"That would be much appreciated." He told the bronze rider when Kain suggested going inside. "Is it always so cold here?" M'aati asked "I don't think I've ever been this cold. Ista just gets rainy in the winter, never frozen cold like this." He tugged his jacket closer around his body again. If it was regularly this cold here, he was going to need some new things. All of his things were made for Istan warmth.
Herath and Nylath looked at each other for a moment as Faziah suggested they might like something to eat, and then back at the woman and her white dragon. That would be most kind Nylath replied.
M'aati, would you take off the harness? The young man looked up at her and nodded, turning away from Faziah and Kain, removing the modified harness with an ease which spoke on many long hours of practise. He gathered the leathers into his arms, setting the small bag, which contained the sum total of his meagre belongings, over his shoulder, and then turned back to the Weyrwoman and Weyrleader, waiting for them to tell him where he was supposed to be going now.
Well are you going to show us where to eat? Herath snapped at Surth, only to have Nylath bump her head against her twin's, causing Herath to snap at her once, and then settle back to quietly grumbling. I am sorry about her Nylath apologised to the white dragon We would be grateful if you could show us where to hunt.

Surth nodded to the conjoined greens. This way. It's not a long flight. With a leap and a surge of his wings, Surth was in the air. He circled the group, waiting for the greens to join him.
Faizah laughed about the weather. "No. It's not this cold all year. We get cold winters here, and hot summers." She smiled. She remembered having to make a lot of adjustments herself when she first moved here. She had spent most of her life moving around, especially to warmer climates like Mexico...
Kain nodded after Faizah finished. "This is a rather cold winter to begin with. Colder than last year, anyway." He said, leading the way into the Weyr. He told Gorth to join Surth and the twins. Go ahead. Get some food into you. You need it...
Gorth nodded, springing into the air in much the same way Surth had. He also cirlced above, waiting for the greens.
Faizah began to follow Kain. She was a little irritated with him. He did so well welcoming the newcomers. But he next to never did anything around the Weyr without her pestering him...
