Nakia was ecstatic as her second egg hatched, revealing a green with some interesting color marks on her neck. With out a second thought she began feeding it. "Delilah is your name." She murmured, feeding her two. Another egg began to hatch. Held within the hands of the one who had reserved it, the egg rocked with determination. After a few moments the egg split open to reveal a blue. he looked up at Nocia and chirped, asking for food. Egg #4 Accepting Looks to Nocia # 0a16c2

Shasta felt relieved when Faizah gave her direction. How she looked up to the Weyrwoman! She smiled back and thanked her profusely.
The GreenRider looked at the mound of orbs to see which was number 7 and noticed that an egg was hatching. She wondered who’s it was. When the comely green flitterling emerged and looked about, the weyrling became concerned. Whose fire lizard was she?
When the little green began running for her and then jumped into her bowl, her utter astonishment caused her to almost fall over. “Chto eto znachit?!” She shouted, so confused that she spoke Russian instead of English. But when she saw the rainbow eyes, she calmed and murmured off-handedly, “Well, you’re so pretty that I would be jealous if anyone else had gotten you, anyway.”
She fed the ravenous hatchling until it fell asleep. Wondering what she should call her new addition, Shasta looked down at the Green’s emerald hue and thought about how different from Quith she looked. Then a burst of inspiration hit her like a wall. “Emmy! Short for Emerald and with a ‘y’ to commemorate your mother. That is what you are called. Emmy.”
With that done, she began to move for the nest. She had to get the egg that belonged to her, labeled with a ‘7’. But before she could go more than a meter, the egg began to shake and then broke. A spunky and grouchy looking flit emerged. It hissed at all who approached it and then caught sight of Shasta. Apparently it was pleased, because it jumped for her. It landed at her feet, mouth gaping. Was there no rest for the weary? She fed the little one and when the greenling eventually fell asleep, jumping possessively onto her lap first. What would she name this one? This one was a bright, almost neon, shade of green. She seemed easily irked even so soon out of the shell. Anger-Face didn’t sound quite right… Vex? Yeah, that sounded good. “You will be named Vex, my angry-brightly-colored-one.”

Another egg began to hatch. Cracks appeared. The shell broke in half and a green wobbled out into the sands. The top half of the shell was draped over her back and she stumbled about, demanding food. She looked up at the person holding her, demanding food. Egg #6 Demanding Looks to Brittany # a4e595

Brownrider Y'ume Y'ume's arrival almost seemed like the signal for the eggs to start hatching. In no time at all, most of the flit eggs have hatched and Impressed to folks that were either holding their eggs when the flits hatched or going to folks with the nearest food available.
After the six eggs hatched and Impressed, a seventh egg hatched to reveal a blue which immediately Impressed to the girl that was holding its egg when it hatched. Then, an eighth egg hatched to reveal green who also Impressed to the person who was holding its egg when it hatched.
Now, Y'ume could see that there was only one egg left that was unclaimed and Nakia's third egg that has yet to hatch. He wondered who the flit of the unclaimed egg would Impress to once it was hatched.

The third and final egg that belonged to Nakia was now showing signs of hatching. The egg wasn't moving as much as one would normally expect, but there was definitely a fire lizard baby pawing away at the inside of the shell. It made a low, peeping sound, as one would hear from a baby chicken, and there was a distinct blue snout that pushed its way out of a soft spot on the shell. The flitter seemed to growl with frustration, yet wasn't going to do anything about it. He licked at the eggshell, and reached up with a talon to claw at the edges. Little by little, the edges were chipped off, and the blue flitter managed to make a big enough hole to climb out of. His red eyes were hungrily looking around, but the blue was content with sitting down on his haunches and demanding food via a loud and annoying squawk. Egg #9 Sloth Looks to Nakia #7c83e8 By now, there was one egg left. This one was not yet claimed by the person who reserved it, and no one had any intention of trying to keep the flitter in the shell until said person arrived. After all, you couldn't keep a dragon from hatching. Instead, this one would be left up to chance... This egg was housing a particularly idiotic flitter. The little creature was poking holes all around the egg, and shoving its weight against each one in turn, but didn't seem to grasp the concept of using just one. It worked at each gap that it made, and from between the shell shards, a dark indigo hide was seen, though it was hard to make out in the darkness of the egg. The flitter screeched, shoving various limbs through different holes in an attempt to find the best way out, but he only managed to get himself stuck. Flailing about, the fire lizard opened his mouth and let out a startled yell. His eyes were swirling red and orange, and the flitter ran in circles in his stubborn attempt to get out of the egg shell. The sand was a bit much though, and as he noticed he was approaching the boot of someone, he tried to skid to a stop, or at least turn, instead ramming into the boot. The egg shell shattered on impact, and the blue pounded on said footware, gnawing on the material. Egg #2 Stubborn Looks to Y'ume #370be6

Nakia, her other two hatchlings gorged and asleep, eagerly grabbed the little blue and began feeding him. He was a gorgeous blue, but then all her flits her gorgeous. As she fed him she tried to think of a name for him. She remembered a dog they used to have, whom the flit reminded her of. So fittingly, she named him after the now deceased dog.
"Chubba is your name!"

Brownrider Y'ume And Y'ume didn't have to wait long until the rest of the eggs hatched. First, it was Nakia's third egg which hatched to reveal a blue. Then, last but not least, the unclaimed egg started hatching but the flit inside seemed too much in a hurry to properly get himself hatched. Y'ume had to smile in amusement as he watched the little one run around in circles until it managed to smack onto his booted feet. Y'ume was so surprised by the event that he didn't even notice the blue flit had started to gnaw on his boots.
It was only until Y'ume realized the blue flit seemed to have stuck to his boots that he had any inkling as to what's going on. Before the flit could to any lasting damage to his boot, he bent down to scoop the little fellow into one of his hands. "Oh no you don't. You don't get to eat my boot like that. Besides, I doubt that it would taste any good." Y'ume told the blue flit who now looked at his waving fingers as if it was ready to pounce on them.
Y'ume hurriedly took away his fingers from the flit's gaze and looked about for any extra bowls of meat to feed the hungry flit that rested within his hand. Spotting one, he got the bowl of meat and taking a few tidbits, fed the blue in his hand. The blue had pounced on the meat and happily filled his gullet. As the flit ate, Y'ume tried to think of a good name for it. Since the flit seemed to like to pounce, Y'ume said, "Pouncer. That'll be your name." as he looked down at the blue flit who was still eating.
Pouncer looked up at Y'ume with rainbow whirling eyes as it chirped happily at his name and pounced on the bowl of meat instead of waiting to be handfed by his.

Nocia waited for her egg to hatch. She still remembered trying to find firelizard clutches on the beaches of Southern after she'd Impressed Sasath. For one reason or another, she'd either never found them, found only the shells left behind, or missed the day of their hatching. Perhaps that was good, though. Her new life here would not be tainted as easily by the still painful memories of what had happened at Southern after Sasath had risen and with her clutch. Maybe, in time, she could forgive H'dal for what he had done, but forgetting Sasath's grief and rage at the loss of her eggs would be impossible.
The rocking of the the little firelizard egg in her hands distracted Nocia from the flood of painful memories, but Sasath, in that state between sleep and waking, was not. With a thunder of wings, the female blue swept into the sands, determined to shred whatever had dared to make her rider so unhappy. Just as Sasath arrived, the egg split and a bright, deep blue fell out. His curious, hungry chirp had the double effect of breaking Sasath's red-eyed fury and getting Nocia to grab for some meat shreds. Nocia popped the meat shreds into the blue's mouth. He was not quite as dark in color as the stone lapis lazuli, and lazuli was too girly, even if it was a shade of blue, but lapis alone would work nicely.
"You are Lapis," Nocia told the firelizard as he snatched a particularly long shred of meat that ended up smacking him between the eyeridges and spattering his hide with red. "And now you are going to need to be cleaned up after you eat, little one."
