IC Date: Week of Sept. 11th, 2011 IC Time: Around 12:15 p.m Faizah was in the dining hall, eating lunch, when she received an image of shaking flitters eggs and a sense of great urgency. She immediately knew that Reyna's eggs were hatching. She jumped up from her half eaten lunch and rushed to the kitchen. At her cry of eggs hatching everything else was set aside and meat was cut up. Faizah helped long enough to get a few bowls filled, gave orders that the others should be brought up to the hatchings sands when filled and off she went with bowls in hand. Faizah got there without time to spare. Already an egg was almost cracking and one had been rocking so forcefully it had fallen to it's side. Faizah smiled reassuringly at Reyna. Tell everyone who reserved an egg that they are hatching please, Surth. Faizah asked of her great white. Of course mineFaizah. Surth rumbled as he answered his rider. He was sunning in the weyrbowl and didn't even flick a muscle as he told the weyr residents. Gold Reyna's clutch is hatching in the sands. Hurry and get there.

Candidate Adair & Weyrling Lesla
As chance would have it, Adair and Lesla were having a meal together in the dining hall. Their flits had their own bowls of meat scraps. The group was having lunch when the pair noticed the Weyrwoman stand up from her half eaten lunch and hurrying towards the kitchen. Adair and Lesla looked at each other silently wondering what was up when Adair heard White Surth's voice in his head say, 'Gold Reyna's clutch is hatching in the sands. Hurry and get there.' At the same time, their respective flits sent them an image of shaking flitter eggs.
Adair had reserved two eggs from Gold Reyna's clutch. He was excited, and all but forgot about lunch. Looking at Lesla he said, "Reyna's clutch is hatching." And before Lesla could decline any invitation to go with him, Adair grabbed one of Lesla's hands and practically dragged the younger lass with him. "Come on, I have two eggs reserved and I don't want them to hatch before I get there." Adair said to his "adopted younger sister".
Ryoushi was put in a sling in front of Adair and he let himself be taken like some baggage to wherever it was that his Alpha wanted to go. He was even getting used to the collar that was around his neck. He sighed wondering why he let himself be man-handled but then, he remembered the time that his Alpha rescued him some time ago. He was quick to learn that the reptile-like smelling craetures with wings were to be left alone. One in particular seemed to hang around with his Alpha a lot. And yet, some nights, he remembers the same winged reptile as having kept him company and stood guard over him when his Alpha was nowhere in site some time ago when he was injured.
Lesla knew better than to say no to Adair and let herself be dragged away from lunch and slowly followed after her "big brother". She already had three flits and she was happy with them. But still, if a flit found themselves Impressed to her, then Lesla was not about to say no.
Lovely flew ahead with Seichou not far behind the green. Zeus on the other hand stayed with Lesla perched on her right shoulder. Adair's Finder also flew ahead with Lovely and Seichou. Once they arrived in the Hatching Sands, the flits landed near the clutch where Reyna guarded. Then, each flit began humming which represented the imminent hatching of the eggs.
Houkath on the other hand was currently napping away near the Feeding Grounds her stomach distended, evidence that she had just gorged herself and was currently too full to move around. She didn't even hear Seichou's sending and was oblivious to the humming that heralded a hatching.
Adair let go of Lesla's hand and presented himself to the Weyrwoman. "Greetings Weyrwoman." he said as he gave a brief bow of respect. He didn't even tell her that two of the eggs were reserved for him for he suspected that such details would not have been forgotten by the Weyrwoman.
Lesla gave her own greeting. "Greetings Weyrwoman. I'm just here to watch." she said softly as she tried to find a spot that would not make her too noticeable.
After Lesla greeting the Weyrwoman, Adair turned to her and set down Ryoushi in the sands. He then took out the leash and clipped one end to the collar and handed the other end to Lesla. "Here, just watch him for a bit. He's still recuperating so I doubt you'll need help handling him." Adair told Lesla.
Then, kneeling down to look Ryoushi in the eye, he said in a voice that brooked no arguement, "I'll be just over there so be a good lad and stay here quietly with Lesla. Understand?" as he looked to see if Ryoushi understood what he just said.
Ryoushi whimpered a little a the tone of his Alpha's voice but yipped his consent to stay quietly where his Alpha put him down beside the female whom Ryoushi didn't seem to think was his Alpha's mate. It was only then that he noticed that the rocking eggs and his ears perked up in interest wondering what it all meant.
Satisfied that Ryoushi seemed to have understood him, Adair stood up and turned around to face the clutch. Finally focusing his attention to the eggs, he noticed that one of them seems just about to hatch. He quickly wondered if the egg held the number that was reserved for him.
Brownrider Y'ume & Brown Firenth Y'ume and Firenth were at the Lake. Y'ume was relax near the lake shore while Firenth took a swim in it. Y'ume's relaxation was interrupted by the Weyrwoman's dragon, White Surth. Y'ume got up to go do as he was bid and go to the Hatching Sands. Looking at his still swimming dragon, he asked, "Well, are you coming or not?"
Firenth seemed to contemplate his answer but in the end, he said, I think not Mine. You go and Impress the flit that will hatch from the egg that we reserved. I'll be here enjoying a relaxing swim. After which, I'm going to be sunning myself. as he submerged back into the lake.
With a shrug of his shoulder, Y'ume replied with, Okay, suit yourself. as he hurried to make his way towards the Hatching Sands. He didn't show it, but he was actually anticipating the event. He hoped that he would get there well before any of the eggs hatched.
By the time Y'ume arrived in the Hatching Sands, he was sweating having run all the way to get there. He nodded at others but gave a greeting to the Weyrwoman. "Weyrwoman Faizah." Y'ume said with a nod of greeting. After a pause and catching more of his breath he added, "Thank The Egg I got here in time." with a friendly smile on his face as he noticed one of the eggs seemed to have cracks and about to hatch.

Surth's announcement that Reyna's clutch was hatching brought Nocia out of a book-induced reverie. She hadn't even noticed the time passing after breakfast. There were so many different animals here on Earth, and the birds were fascinating to a person born on a planet with none but those the settlers had brought. The huge variety of fauna compared to that of Pern was a constant source of amazement. Could Pern have been like this if not for the threat of Thread? Even after a few months at Rocky, Nocia still didn't like stepping out of her weyr and seeing all the greenery around the Weyr. It may have been natural to Earth no danger without Thread to eat it, but her first reaction was still to yank it all up by the roots.
Her musings on the reactions of those who were Pern-born to Earth and trying to figure out how to make the transition a little easier on those who would not be able to return occupied her all the way down to the Hatching Sands. There had to be a way to make it a little easier. Nocia arrived on the sands and smiled at the Weyrwoman. Faizah probably knew that she had two of the eggs reserved, so why not just wait and see how the eggs cracked. Sasath liked the little cousins and was rather excited for this. It would not be a surprise if she joined the humans and firelizards already there.

Tiffanie wandered onto the hatching sands, a bit of a grin on her face. She had asked if she could have another egg, not really expecting a yes as she already had Ditz. The green was on her shoulder, producing that soft, pleasant hum the draconics seemed to use around hatchings and possibly births. Maybe it was some kind of signal to the hatchlings to hurry up and come out. She was still amazed Faizah had said yes to her, but maybe she just needed to get the eggs given out. There were already cracks in one of them. And this was a gold clutch, meaning it could have all six of the colors in it. Not that she cared if she got another green...Ditz lived up to her name a lot of the time, but that didn't mean she wasn't fun to have around. (OOC: I have no clue if this is after the dragon hatching or before, so some Tiffanie posts might be a little bit...ahem...vague on certain things ) -- Tad heard humming. Then Surth's voice saying something about firelizard eggs. Cobweb seemed to perk up. "Oh, I don't know. One of you is enough. Plus a crazy dragon." He rubbed the nearest of Kimath's eyebrows. "I think I'm going to go watch that Hatching, love." The blue stretched. "Hrm. You want to come?" He was rewarded by Kimath getting to his feet. "Okay, then, but if the firelizard queen objects, you have to leave, okay?" Okay the pallid blue agreed, padding after his rider. He was still, Tad thought, fairly small. But growing with an amazing rapidity, almost beyond what he thought could possibly be reasonable. Reaching the Sands, he wandered towards the group, but didn't put himself forward *too* much. He had Cobweb, after all, the oddly marked white joining in the humming.

Faizah smiled as people began arriving for the flit hatching. Reyna would be proud of the outcome. The fact that a few hadnt been claimed slightly worried Faizah though. Each unclaimed egg ran the chance of going wild.
Faizah handed each person a bowl of meat as she told them the numbers for their respective eggs. ''Tiffanie 5, Adair 9 and 18. Y'ume 22 and Nocia 14 and 12. Nice to see you Lesla. Tad.''
---
The egg that was already cracked decided to hatch then. Number four was the number painted on the side. The hatchling emerged from the egg and then glared at what had been her prison for weeks. Then the delicate green looked about her in what seemed to be confusion.

Tiffanie offered the Weyrwoman a smile, before moving to carefully pick up the egg marked 'five'. It seemed an entirely fair way to distribute the eggs...randomly.
Ditz peered at the egg. "It's a friend for you, Ditz. Bet you're hoping its a boy."
Frankly, so was Tiffanie, she didn't want another green, ideally. They might *shudder* synchronize their cycles and with the way she picked up on Ditz's emotions...she didn't want two doses of firelizard PMS! No, she most definitely didn't want that.
One of the other eggs cracked and she moved back...it was a green.
Tad, for his part, was staying a bit of a distance away with Cobweb. Hrm. Whoever had been intended to get that green hadn't show up. What if she went wild? Wild firelizards on Earth could cause all kinds of problems...the tame ones caused enough trouble!

The green darted for an unclaimed bowl of meat, gorgeing herself as soon as she could. But something disrupted her meal. Something had moved, other than the other firelizards about the sands. Her head darted up and caught the movement. A flash of white. A human blink. The green was in the air and at Tad, chirping angrily at him for disturbing her meal as her eyes also whirled rainbow colors. She had Impressed upon the young man, for better or for worse. Egg #4 Discontented Looks to Tad # b3fcae --- Faizah stifled a laugh as Tiffanie flinched away from the green hatchling. Tad ended up with the little green, loud as she was. She couldn't imagine how Cobweb would react to that. Or Tad for that matter. But that was that. Reyna continued to hum on the sands. She watched as her first hatched, a young green, Impressed to the one with the smallbluedragoncousin and the oddwhitelittleflitter. A likely match if any, she seemed to be thinking as she moved her attention back to the other eggs. She was actively protecting the gold egg, huddled close to her warm body.

Adair Adair took the bowl of meat from the Weyrwoman with a murmur of thanks. Then, looking at the eggs, he carefully selected the two eggs that were numbered 9 and 18. He separated himself a little to sit down on the sands near Lesla and Ryoushi. He also set the bowl of meat near the eggs and waited.
Not too long after settling down on the hot sands, an egg hatched to reveal a green. Adair wondered what would happen since the egg from which the green hatched from had not been claimed by anyone. Adair knew that flits can become wild but he doubted if the Weyr would allow wild flits here on Earth. After all, the existence of dragons isn't as wildly known as one might expect and is actually a government held secret.
Ryoushi perked up his ears in interest as he saw the hatching of the reptile-smelling creature. He would have gone over to investigate but his Alpha's orders held firm and he stayed put where he was. He even noticed his Alpha separating two eggs from the others and sitting not too far from him. Although he was curious about the eggs, the smell of the meal made his water salivate a little. He yipped to get his Alpha's attention. He wanted to know if he could eat the bowl of meat.
Adair turned his head to the right to look at where Lesla and Ryoushi were standing. He had heard Ryoushi's yip and wondered what the wolf cub wanted. But it wasn't such a mystery for he noticed where Ryoushi was looking at as the wolf cub licked his chops. With a shake of his head, Adair said, "Sorry Ryoushi, this meat is for the flits that will hatch from the egg." as he moved the bowl to the otherside where Ryoushi would not readily see it.
Ryoushi cocked his head to the left as he tried to figure out what his Alpha had said. However, it hasn't been long since Ryoushi's rescue so the wolf cub didn't really understand all that was being said. However, he did understand the body language exhibited by his Alpha and with a whine, once more laid down with his head on his front paws and watching the eggs rock once more.
And no sooner had Adair focused his attention back to the eggs, he noticed the little green launching herself towards a lad with a white flit. At least the little one didn't go wild. Adair mused to himself as he looked away from the pair and focused his attention to his eggs.
Lesla Lesla had startled a bit at the wolf cub's yip. It was a good thing that the animal seemed to be well-behaved. She remained silent and still as an egg hatched to reveal a little green flit. Lesla looked around wondering who the flit was supposed to have gone to since the egg hatched before it was given or claimed.
She's seen Adair gently scoop out two eggs and idly wondered what flits would hatch from them. No sooner had the thought passed than the hatched little green flew to land on some lad that Lesla didn't personally know. But he did have a white flit with him so Lesla was happy for them. She then turned her head to focus her attention at the gold egg that Reyna was guarding quite closely. She wondered who the gold would choose from among the folks that have gathered here in the Hatching Sands.
Y'ume Y'ume said a soft thank you as he was handed the bowl of meat by the Weyrwoman. After which, he carefully gathered the egg numbered 22 and settled someplace out of the way but still near enough with the rest of the group. He looked at the egg wondering what would hatch from it. He was so focused on his egg that he didn't even notice the little green flit hatching and then making her Impression.

Tad acked as the green scolded him. "You NAG," he told her. Which was, of course, an insult at two levels, but perfectly fitting.
Unfortunately, the noisy creature seemed to be taking it as a compliment. He glanced around for help, but absolutely none was going to be forthcoming. "Nag," he informed the green again. Likely the unfortunate creature was stuck with that as her name.
Cobweb? He was giving the green *looks* that said she had better let him get a chirp in edgewise! Or, well, else!

Happily sitting in his hands was Paradron. Evander looked down at the fire lizard that started to hum, a familiar sound that he traced back in his memories to that moment when he bonded to Paradron. His age didn’t prevent the flitter from detecting when a hatching was going on. The blue was hardly a few weeks old. That made Evander laugh. “Hah... Dinnae ah reserve some eggs from this clutch, Paradron?” he asked the flitter, peering down at the curled-up blue in his hands. “Ah shuild get tae the sands, no?” No doubt Paradron wouldn’t care. The fire lizard was as friendly as a happy and fed cat. Evander stood from where he was sitting at the desk in his weyr, and left the room, Paradron still in his hands. He knew where the hatching sands were, for sure. He had been there more times than he could count in the past month. Going there one last time wouldn’t hurt. Blue fire lizard still in hand, Evander stepped onto the sands, and instantly regretting the dress clothes he picked to wear. It was chilly outside, but blazing hot inside the hatching grounds. The Scot offered a smile to everyone as he passed by them trying to get to where Faizah and the clutch waited. He spotted the weyrwoman darting between various people, handing them the materials that they would need to bond to the fire lizards. “Hallo, Werywoman Faizah!” he called to the busy lady, before turning and trying to find his numbered eggs in the clutch. A green’s clutch was something to be proud of, but not an exciting event to attend. The flitters, that is. They tended to have tiny clutches, not worth mentioning... Of course, Hy’ka’s own Kivral was from an unknown clutch... The brown could have been from a green clutch that happened to be found. Even so, there was the thought of going to Reyna’s hatching. The bluerider thought about reserving an egg, but he thought that leaving the bonding up to chance would be a better idea, so that he couldn’t complain if he picked a flitter that was annoying. As such, the bluerider was making his way to the hatching sands now. He left the proud chimera father, Brynath, in the weyr, sleeping, after a large lunch. Hy’ka himself had just eaten as well, when there was gossip passed around that Reyna’s clutch was hatching. He stopped by his room quickly to fix up his appearance before slipping away to reach the sands. The rider stepped into the warm area, having been here just weeks before for the hatching of Isath and Raynith’s clutches. Those were... Interesting, to say the least. Hy’ka approached the large gold fire lizard clutch with a humming Kivral on his shoulders. He tried to shush the brown a number of times, due to the annoying humming in his ears, but the troublemaker ignored him. “Afternoon, Weyrwoman Faizah!” he greeted the leader of the weyr, raising his hand briefly. He dully noticed that one egg already hatched a green flitter, while a number were claimed by other weyr residents, but that still left a few up to chance. It was a random happenstance that Lawrence was near the hatching sands. He didn’t plan on attending the gold’s hatching, but instead was spending the chilly day outside with Elonverrilth. The weyrling sat with a furrowed brow on his face, sketchbook in hand, but not open, and a pencil being twirled between his fingers. Boomerang lifted his head from where he was sleeping in Lawrence’s lap, and started to hum. Elonverrilth himself did as well, though it was much softer. Lawrence had looked up at the bronze, as if questioning why he was humming. Gold Reyna's clutch is hatching. Maybe you should attend? I think Boomerang would like to go... He seems happy enough with the humming already. And I think you should go as well. Just to visit. Socialize with some other fire lizard owners. The bronze’s had head twisted to look down at Lawrence. Lawrence had given the bronze a little shrug, showing he didn’t want to go, out of fear of getting another pest like Boomerang, but that couldn’t be helped. Not to mention that the bronze dragon was now shifting and making Lawrence uncomfortable, just to get him to leave. “Fine...” he finally muttered, standing up, and heading back inside to the hatching sands. Boomerang followed after him, flying and humming. The weyrling spotted a number of people already there, and was about to turn back when Elonverrilth mentally prodded him in the back. “Weyrwoman...” Lawrence murmured as he entered, his head held high and defiant. He stepped through the mass of people, and noticed that only one of the eggs had hatched so far. Shame. He hoped most of them would have hatched so that he wouldn’t have to bond to another fire lizard. I’d rather not be here, Elon... the weyrling protested. He tucked his sketchbook under his arm, pencil still in hand, and joined the group gathered around the gold’s clutch.

Akira arrived at the site of the flits hatching, her heart pounding. She adored the flits most of all, they were small and still were brave. She looked to Faizah, unsure which egg was hers.

Faizah nodded to people as they came in, shouting greetings back to them. "Akira, number seven. Lawrence, welcome. Hy'ka, hello. Evander, numbers twenty and seventeen. Here, take these bowls you two." She said as she handed bowl of meat to Akira and Evander. "Hy'ka, can you do me a huge favor?" Faizah asked. She was finally able to stand still for a moment. --- The egg labeled "5" cracked and split open within a few seconds. A very forceful entrance into the world. The little blue turned in the girl's hands until he could see her face. He chirped at her, demanding food. Only then did he notice the green staring back at him. He bared his teeth at her and forced a growl out. Egg #5 Forceful Looks to Tiffanie # 2204fe

Akira picked up the egg with seven painted on its side. Cradling it close to her chest, she nodded her thanks to the pretty gold and to Faizah. She gazed down at the little egg, happily. Akira had a soft spot for the flits most of all. "Thank you Faizah, and Reyna.. i am sure all your little ones will be beauties."

"Be nice," Tiffanie told the blue. "That's Ditz. You'll learn to appreciate her." What odd wings...he had a pattern of white across the trailing edge of the wingsails.
Which should have given her a good idea for a name, but just like with the other, she was blanking. Maybe Cioeth could think of something?
White wings. And such a personality. She laughed a bit. "Oh, no. I think I know what you are supposed to be called. Jack, right?" The blue snorted at her.
He didn't care about names, he cared about the meat she was offering him and whether there was any more where that came from.

Adair Adair was so focused on his eggs that he didn't even notice the second egg hatching to reveal a blue with remarkable white stripes on the trailing edge of his wing sails. The next time he looked up, he only saw that another egg has hatched. He idly wondered when his eggs would hatch as he looked at the unclaimed eggs and then back to his two eggs.
Ryoushi was silent as he watched events unfold. He didn't understand why the reptile-smelling things would be something to behold. He saw a green colored one almost flying onto the face of one of the Two-Legs. Then he saw a blue colored one and distinctly heard it make a growling noise. He couldn't help but growl back thinking that it might challenge him or something. But then, his Alpha's Two-Legger friend, told him to be quiet and that nothing would dare to harm him here. He looked up at her and decided to believe her to he shut up and stayed quiet once more.
Lesla Lesla saw the blue flit and fell in love at his colors. But the blue was already claimed and Lesla took her attention away from the pair and back to the unclaimed eggs. Then her attention moved to Adair and his two eggs. She wondered what Adair would get and if he can train Ryoushi in to leaving the newly hatched flits alone.
Now, she looked down at Ryoushi who had stayed beside her by her feet. He seemed to have understood what Adair wanted of him, but she wondered who he and Adair would do in the future when Adair has more flits to care for. She shook herself from thinking negatively about her friend and his love for acquiring pets and focused her attention back to the mound of unclaimed rocking flit eggs.
When she heard the cub growling, she sternly said, "Stop that. Nothing's going to harm you here. And the flits won't dare to bother you at all." as she made sure that she had a strong hold of his leash just in case the cub got it into his head to go and pounce on any one of the newly hatched flits.
Y'ume Y'ume still in a world of his own as he patiently waited for his egg to hatch, did not notice the second egg to hatch. Y'ume was trying to ignore his surroundings as he focused his attention on his one egg. Unfortunately, despite all his efforts, he could still hear what was going on around him so he had no choice but to look up around him and finally saw that two eggs have hatched and Impressed. Caught up with the events happening around him, he once more looked down on the egg that he had claimed wondering what color would emerge and when it would hatch.

Faizah acknowledged Evander, along with the other people that walked in moments after him, and mention that he had numbers seventeen and twenty. “Mmhm...” the Scot murmured with a nod. “Thank ye, Weyrwoman.” He stepped out of the way of the weyrwoman, and any others that were coming in, to approach the fire lizard clutch. Paradron was humming happily from his spot in Evander’s hands, to which the Scot looked down at the flitter. “Ye seem excited... Going tae get some new friends for ye.” Navigating his way through the mess of people, Evander sought out his two eggs. He found them, and reached up to put Paradron on his shoulder. “Stay thare, okay?” he told the blue, though he knew he would listen. Crouching, Evander scooped up the shaking eggs, with seventeen in his left hand, and twenty in his right. “Okay...” he was talking to himself, though Paradron could listen if he wanted to, and Evander stood up, moving off to the side to get out of the way. Fully intending on watching, Hy’ka was about to step back after greeting Faizah, but the words from the weyrwoman stopped him mid-step. “Yes Faizah?” the bluerider asked. He glanced over her shoulder, seeing that another egg hatched, to a blue with interesting markings on his wings, before returning to Faizah. “What would you like me to do?” On his shoulder, Kivral continued to hum, his green-blue eyes swirling gently as he continued to watch the eggs hatching.

Akira got comfortable settling down with the egg in front of her and the bowl in her lap. She wondered what color the flit would be and what gender. She watched the two who had hatched grinning. The blue was very pretty its odd wings facinated Akira. She called out to the girl , "Congratulations, that one is a beauty. I love his wings."

Weyrwoman Faizah "Could you go down to the kitchen and see if they've got any more meat cut up? If so could you bring it up here?" Faizah asked Hy'ka. She was running around again, checking the two that had already hatched, congratulating Tad and Tiffanie, then checking on the eggs that had yet to hatch. Weyrling La'as La'as was sitting in the common room, trying to get the hang of the talking box, when Taspoloth entered his mind. Mine. Gold Reyna's clutch has begun hatching. Did you not reserve an egg from the clutch?La'as jumped up. You know I did... La'as told his green as he bolted for the door. He ran to the sands, arriving there with a stitch in his side. He waited until he had caught his breath, then approached the Weyrwoman. She shoved a bowl of meat into his hands, told him he had number '8' and sent him on his way. La'as picked up the egg gently, careful of it's rocking. Taspoloth was back in the weyr, dreaming again. She didn't seem to care that Hers was about to get a firelizard. Weyrling Mentari Mentari was doing a bit of math work Faizah had given her when Christopher, her blue from Reyna's last hatching, began humming. Faizah had given her an egg after it seemed everyone was done reserving them, so she knew she had to get to the hatching sands if she wanted the flitter. She quickly grabbed Christopher, told Ladeth what she was doing, and ran for the sands. She arrived just in time. Faizah was running around, busy with other things, so Mentari helped herself to a bowl of meat and her egg, number '15', and headed for a corner away from the drama. Then she sat with her blue and her egg and waited for it to hatch. --- The egg marked with '18' on it's side began to crack. Small holes appeared as the flitter within tried to get out. But it wasn't calm enough in it's state of worry to understand that increasing the size of one would be much more effective. Little peeps of worry and alarm came from the egg as slowly the shell began to flake away from the various holes. Finally the shell fell apart, giving the flitter an opening to escape. With a chirp a green hatchling appeared, looking about her for food. Egg #18 Worrier Looks to A'ir # 09b073

Rider Nomics of Bronze Yurith EARTHQUAKE??? Nomics fell from his bed onto the cold stone floor. He shivered as his bare skin touched the merciless ground and looked about in dream shrouded confusion. What was that incessant rumbling?! Yurith stopped his base-hum that shook the ground. MineNomics… the Bronze began. But he was cut off by Nomics’ whining. With an indignant look the BronzeRider began “It was YOU!” and commenced with lamenting the loss of his glorious nap, the coldness of the floor, and the rudeness of a certain large Bronze Dragon who caused it all. Yurith, ever patient with HisRider, waited until Nomics was finished with his rant. Then he continued with what he had been saying before being rudely interrupted. Nomics, Gold Firelizard Reyna’s clutch is hatching. You are expected to attend.“Oh, dear. Is that so? Well lets go then!” the man said, completely changing mood. He sauntered on over to Yurith and hitched a ride. Moments later he was on the hatching sands and saying hi to EVERYBODY. Being rather late-ish, there were many people for him to acknowledge. “Hello!” and a wink to Akira. A “Hows it going” for Y'ume. “Long time no see” towards Hy’ka. And a special “How do you do?” at Nocia. And he acknowledged ALL the others too. Then he finally got to the Weyrwoman. “Weyrwoman Faizah! How good it is to see you! Reyna got busy again, I see.” He gave a sly wink and a little nudge. “But im not complaining and im sure Mari isn’t either.” Another wink and a little chuckle. “So… I know I’ve been about for a while, but I don’t rightly know what to do. I grab a bowl of meat, right? And my flitter egg? And by the way, is there anything you need help with?” He paused, giving the woman a pointed look, “ You seem pretty haggard, my dear.” Mari appeared in the hatching grounds, trilling his mirth. He landed near Reyna and the queen egg, humming softly. The Bronze didnt get too close, but he did stay tight and watch the hatching of the eggs he sired. --- Weyrling Shasta of Green Quith Shasta was actually walking right past the hatching grounds when Jas and her new Greens Emmy and Vex began humming and giving her images of Gold Reyna and a nest of eggs. "Oh!" She exclaimed. "Reyna's clutch is hatching!" her thoughts turned inward. Quith, should i go? I'd like to... maybe i'd get more flitters! But what if im not wanted?Quith paused as if to let Hers know how ridiculous she sounded. Finally she said, MineHeart. If anyone doesnt want you i will bite them. Anyway, you have TheLittleCousins with you. Go. make friends. have fun. She consoled Hers efficiently and then sent her comforting and happy thoughts for good measure. You're too good for me, Quith. Shasta replied to the Green that she loved so much. And with that she walked onto the sands, waiting to see if anything interesting would happen. --- Weyrling Daniel of Blue Streeth Sitting in the kitchen, watching his coffee steam. He pulled another marshmallow out and plopped the delicious confection in his mouth. He took a sip of his energizing beverage and looked around. He saw the kitchen staff cutting raw meat and dumping it into bowls. How curious. That sort of activity usually only occurred during a hatching. But no dragons were due. He elected to ask someone. So he got up, draining his mug, and walked easily over to the hustle and bustle. "Pardon me," he asked to no one in particular, " but is there a hatching going on?" One of the workers stopped his chopping and looked up toward the weyrling. He gave a tired smile and said, "Yes indeed, sir. That Gold lizard of Faizah's to be precise." So that was it. "Thank you," Daniel said with a grateful half-grin. But the man was already back to work. Deciding that this might be something worth watching, Daniel took two full bowls and walked through the service hallway to the hatching sands. He saw a large crowd surrounding what he assumed to be Reyna and her clutch. He had heard that there was a queen up for grabs. He wondered who would get it.

"Could you go down to the kitchen and see if they've got any more meat cut up? If so could you bring it up here?"Not long after those words left the Weyrwoman’s mouth, she was busy scampering around again, like the overworked weyrwoman she was. Hy’ka suppressed a chuckle as he watched Faizah hurry away. “Aw, but Faizah, I wanted to watch the hatching! What if I miss something?” the bluerider protested in a mocking way. He put on a fake frown, though the weyrwoman was too busy to come back and scold him into listening to her. “Alright then. You’re the boss, Weyrwoman.” Hy’ka turned, ready to leave again, when he remembered Kivral. “Kivral, buddy... Will you watch the hatching for me? Let me know if an egg hatches, so that I can get back up here as soon as possible...” he told the brown flitter on his shoulder. Whether or not the fire lizard could understand wasn’t a problem, but he seemed to. Kivral took off from Hy’ka’s shoulder, and circled in the air, still humming as the eggs continued to rock. “Thank you, Kivral!” Keep him on his task, Brynath... he silently told the blue as the rider left the sands. I'll do my best, though I don't think it's needed. Kivral's always been good about listening to your orders.True... But still. Doing what Faizah told him to do, Hy’ka went straight to the kitchens, and glanced around. He saw a number of bowls of meat sitting on a table, just waiting for him to grab them. “Hey!” he called, stepping up to the table. “Are these for Reyna’s hatching going on right now?” One of the kitchen workers peered around a countertop, and nodded in Hy’ka’s general direction. “Wonderful! Thank you!” Of course, he was alone, and had to figure out how to carry the bowls of raw meat back to the hatching sands. He frowned. Well... He could stack them. He might as well. And if you’re going to take care of a baby fire lizard, your hands are going to get a little bit messy. The rider unceremoniously stacked the bowls on top of each other, and balanced the two stacks of three bowls each in both arms. Alright, now he had to be careful. Quick and careful, to get back to the hatching grounds. As fate would have it, Kivral choose that time to pop in from between. “Kivral... What now?” The brown flitter chirped quickly, and sent the rider a blurry image of a green shape. “What about it... Oh wait--is that another flitter? Aw! I missed one! Gah! Come on, Kivral!” Hy’ka put on a burst of speed, power-walking through the hallways to the hatching sands. “Faizah, I’m back! I’ve got six more bowls of meat for the flitters!” Hy’ka was still holding onto the bowls, but he lowered them slightly to get a better view of the hatching sands. Apart from a dragon hatching, this was probably the most full he’s ever seen it. “Faizah, where did you go?” the rider continued to ask, wandering around the outside of the group.

Tiffanie retreated some from the clutch, sneaking a couple of the scraps of meat to Ditz before the slightly older green got jealous of the new baby.
"So, now I have a blue, a green, and something that's both." She grinned at the thought of Cioeth, whom she could not get out of her mind, never. Right now, the chimera dragon was asleep, but as soon as she woke up, she would have to go back to her.
In many ways, Cioeth was the one in charge of the relationship, in others she wasn't. The dragonriders had tried to explain it to her, but it had been a pale reflection.
And frankly, none of them had a dragon like Cioeth...no two dragons could possibly be alike, and...well. Cioeth.
--
Tad grinned a bit at the hatching. "Well, guess I did the right thing coming here. Or did I?"
Nag was starting on Cobweb, chitterscolding him until the white retaliated. For right now, he at least had size on her, but given how tiny Cobweb was, that wouldn't stay true for very long. Like most whites...Surth being the exception...he fell at the very smallest end of dragon...or firelizard in this case...size. "Nag. Cobweb is not to be scolded until he does something."
It seemed that 'existing' was enough, though...

Weyrling A'irWhen of the eggs finally showed signs of hatching, Adair was pretty excited to meet his new friend. Adair... that is, A'ir, I have to start thinking of myself as A'ir not Adair. he silently said to himself, almost wanted to break the shell for the flit within when he started to hear the worried peeps coming from the flit inside. However, he managed to stay his hand and let the flit hatch by itself. Soon, the egg revealed a tiny little green. Scooping the little green into one of his hands, A'ir scooped some meat tid bits from the bowl of meat and started to feed the hungry flit. As he did so, he commented, "Well, aren't you just a tiny little green." and after a pause, an idea clicked in his head and he said, "Tini!" with a nod of his head in agreement. He then continued with, "Yes, Tini, that's what you'll be called." as he looked down at his tiny new little green flit. It wasn't long and soon, A'ir had stuffed the green flit full. She looked up at A'ir with rainbow swirling eyes as she crooned her satisfaction. After a while, she curled upon herself and was now sleeping in the palm of his left hand. A'ir now focused his attention on his remaining egg and wondered when it would hatch. Ryoushi had witnessed the hatching and he longed to take a sniff at the little green thing that his Alpha now held. But, the command to stay and behave still held so he stayed and behaved and vowed to himself that he would take a good sniff at the thing when he was able to. Finder was excited for the new addition to their family but was more focused on humming. So, he left His and the newly hatched green flit alone and kept humming along with the others.
( OOC: Based from your last post, I'm assuming that La'as still has the egg in his hands and haven't yet had time to put the egg back down on the sands to watch it hatch.) As if to bring more excite to the Hatching, all of a sudden, three eggs hatched simultaneously. One egg which had been violently rocking and shaking since the beginning finally cracked and shattered to reveal a dark bronze-colored flit with stripes of a lighter bronze color on his tail and legs. The flit didn't even bother moving out of his shattered shell of an egg. He swiveled his head around with red swirling eyes, evidence of his hunger, as he looked at his surroundings. His eyes settled on La'as who still held his egg's shattered remains and the bronze creeled his hunger at La'as, the flit's eyes beginning to swirl a rainbow of colors as he waited to be fed by His. ( OOC: Based from your last post, I'm assuming that the egg is on the sands in front of Mentari, who is sitting on the sands with her blue flit, Christopher.) Meanwhile, over in another place where a girl sat with a blue flit and an egg, the egg began rocking so much that it rocked away from the pair as hairline cracks along the shell of the egg spread and scattered all over. The egg managed to roll a foot away from the girl before a green head forced it's away out of the egg. The flits eyes were a whirling red as she stared at the nearest thing which happened to be Mentari. The green chirped a greeting at Hers with swirling rainbow eyes before managing to make her way out of her egg. Then green flapped her wings to get them dry and then flew over towards Hers. She landed on Hers' shoulder and while nuzzling Hers, she cried piteously about her hunger and her need to be fed by Hers. Green ( Main #bbd2a7 Marking None) Cuddly Looks to Mentari (faizahpandora)
( OOC: Based from your last post, I'm assuming that E'nd/Evander has moved eggs 17 and 20 off to one side and he is still standing over the two eggs with his blue flit, Paradron, on his shoulder. Okay, you stated in the c-box that E'nd has one egg in each hand.) In addition, in yet another place near the clutch of Gold Reyna, a young man with a blue flit over his shoulder with two rocking eggs in each hand was walking to a quieter place. As he did so, one of the eggs, the one that he held in his left hand, shook more vigorously and a crack was heard as the eggshell split from top to bottom to reveal a blue flit, whose blue color looked more teal than blue, with a halter-like marking on his neck and shoulders of a light teal color. The flit didn't waste time and stepped out of his split egg and cleaned himself as he unfurled his wings to dry. After that, the flit looked around with red swirling eyes before locking eyes with E'nd's. With a happy chirp, the blue launched himself up from His' hand and hovered near E'nd's face, his eyes swirling rainbow with a tinge of red as he looked to His and letting His know of his hunger. With Faizah so busy with everyone else, and Evander already knowing what to do, the Scot didn’t waste time in seeking out the Weyrwoman when the egg in his hand started to shake, and a fire lizard tried to crawl out of it. Paradron cocked his head, letting out a low peep of curiosity. “Aye, Paradron,” Evander said to the blue flitter. “Another blue.” There was a blue figure that pulled itself out of the egg. A very off blue color similar to Paradron, but not as dull in shade. Oh but he needed a name... Evander wracked his mind for a good one. Paradron was easy, but this one wasn’t coming to him. E'nd, maybe you should name him like you named Paradron. With the same idea, Gyerjtackalanth rumbled, wishing to help hers decide on a name for the flitter. Evander frowned. Aye, ah was thenking that as well... he responded, lifting his hand to get a better look at the fire lizard. The blue creature shook his wings, drying them out, and leapt into the air. Evander’s eyes went wide as the fire lizard circled around, and he almost went scrambling for a bowl of meat to keep the blue flitter near him. However, the fire lizard soon decided that the Scot was good enough to stay with, and hovered in front of his face. “Aye?” he asked the fire lizard. “Well, if ah’m tae follow with Paradron’s name... Then ye shall be Getorin.” The blue chirped at the words, as if wanting to tell Evander what he thought of the name. “If ye like et...” he trailed off, keeping an eye on the flitter. The Scot dropped the egg shards in his hand, letting them fall onto the sands, but made a mental note to pick them up later, and reached up to allow the youngest of his two blues to land on his hand. “Hallo thare, Getorin. Ah need tae feed ye now, aye?” Noting the bowl of meat that he set on the sands moments earlier, Evander crouched down yet again, placing the young fire lizard down, and picking up a few chunks of meat to feed to the critter. * * * It was then that one of the untouched eggs on the sands started to hatch. Painted along the side of it was a number twenty-one, and this one was definitely claimed by a weyr resident. The egg started to rock quickly, while the hatchling inside tried to get out. It clawed at the eggshell, and before long there was the distinct pop of the egg breaking away. The hatchling flitter inside was of a distinct brown color, as evident by the creature sticking his head through the hole made. Instantly, the fire lizard started chattering, his head swiveling around to take in the sights. He was quick to climb out of the egg, his red-tinged blue eyes watching everyone and everything excitedly. The brown unfurled his wings, holding them out, and giving them a light shake before deciding he wanted to explore on the ground. The brown jumped forward, wings half-closed, and bounded across the sands, chirping madly, before coming to rest at the feet of a particular bronzerider. The fire lizard looked up at the rider, taking in only the fact that he was tall, and spread his wings, taking to the sky and circling around the person he discovered. On his belly, there was a black band, looking much like a belt. Egg #21 Social Butterfly Brown Fire Lizard Looks to Nomics #513906

Weyrwoman Faizah of White Surth Faizah noticed Hy'ka return and gladly took the bowls from him. "Thank you so much Hy'ka. This is perfect." Faizah lightly kissed the Blue Rider's cheek before hurrying off to help others with their newly hatched flits. Faizah heard Nomics speak to her. She smiled at him as she took a moment to stop and speak to him. "Yes, Reyna's flights are like clockwork. And I bet Mari is a very happy bronze to have caught Reyna. And you know how hatchings work. Lots of work." Faizah finished. She glanced at her list, balanced precariously upon three bowls of meat. "Here's a bowl," Faizah handed the bronze Rider a bowl, "You have egg number..." Faizah was about to say number '21', but a glance at the shattered egg shells and the brown hatchling that was flying around Nomics' head. "There he is. Feed him before he decides on another person." Weyrling La'as of Green Taspoloth La'as just stared at the bronze in his hand for a moment. He was surprised; La'as had been expecting a blue or green. So of course seeing the chirping bronze in his hands wa a deep surpirse. But it didn't last long. He quickly grabbed a handful of meat chunks and began stuffing them individually into the bronze's mouth. He was swallowing the meat as if he was too lazy to chew it. And just like that a name came to his mind, as much a surprise as first seeing the bronze had been. "Wherry will be your name!" La'as whispered to the now stuffed bronze who was drifting to sleep. Weryling Mentari of Green Ladeth Mentari instinctively began to feed the little green. And what a green she was! Almost a metalic sheen to her hide, and such a cuddler. Even Christopher seemed to like her, perched on Mentari's other shoulder and looking at the green with blue whirling eyes. As the green began to drift to sleep Mentari whispered her name to her. "Nicole." Wher-Candidate Llonatan Pandora Llonatan was playing a video game on a small TV in the common room when he heard someone mention a flit hatching. Waiting for the next Wher clutch was boring, and his small chores didn't help. So he had asked his cousin, Faizah, if he could have an egg from her gold's clutch. He was surprised when she told him yes and wrote his name down randomly on a clipboard she carried. So of course he dropped the controller and ran for the hatching grounds. When he got there he saw utter chaos. But he was able to pick out Faizah and Mentari, that latter of which was holding a sleeping green along with her dark blue flitter. He approached Mentari. "What do I do?" He asked in a whisper. --- The egg guarded closely by it's gold mother suddenly cracked. The gold surface of the precious egg was now riddled with the cracks, and a large chunk of shell had fallen into the shell. But no hatchling emerged, or made a sound, despite the cracks and violent shaking.
