Welcome to Earth
Pern’s human population has grown and the planet’s resources are monopolized, space limited, despite the exploration and colonization of the Southern Continent. As the dragon population continues to grow, there are less Candidates, forcing many dragonets to between after only minutes of life.
Ten turns ago, a reckless weyrling betweened without permission, and emerged on a brand new planet: Earth, sustaining some cuts and bruises as they reappeared. The young weyrlings hadn’t realized he was on a different planet until they flew for a few miles and, not recognizing anything, they panicked and betweened back to Pern. For a while they kept their secret, until the boy gained an infection in one of the cuts. The healers, baffled by the foreign bacteria, demanded the boy to explain his injury. Spilling his guilt to the Weyrleaders, a conclave was immediately called.
Within that first year, many trips to the new planet had been made, but contact with the humans there was forbidden. The military, however, was kept close tabs on the strange UFOs that had been reported. A year after the first sighting, jet fighters were sent up as one of the UFOs appeared. Stunned by what they saw, the pilots rushed back to report these dragons. The government was not sure how to respond, but eventually one of the larger creatures was flagged down during his sweep of the mountains.
The current President, sympathetic to the Pernese crisis, offered a solution, that firelizard eggs be distributed in a controlled fashion in the US and a few other countries who were discretely notified. They would draw out some Earthlings who might be willing to leave Earth to take on an important responsibility on Pern.
This system went on for years until the Pernese began to experience another problem. A large number of dragonets were developing sicknesses or hatching with defects, making them unable to be successful on Pern. The President decided a Weyr would be constructed in the USA to alleviate the stress of the Weyrs. He thought of no better location for the establishment than the Rockies, where the Pernese had first appeared.
Since then, the Rocky Weyr of Earth has grown in size and population, until a second was required. The Japanese accepted the Pernese this time, building a Weyr on one of their many isolated islands. This sister Weyr, the Isle Weyr, is small and new but is growing.
Needed
Any Rider will be accepted, just so the dragon/wher has a defect, such as blindness, missing limbs, mental disorders, etc. A list of possible defects are lited in the forums.

What's Happening
The Junior Weyrwoman's Golden Xenith flew her Maiden Flight at Isle Weyr, and soon a clutch will be hardening in the sands. Will any of eggs house Chimeras, or maybe even a rare White? Or perhaps another Queen egg? Come and find out!
Some of the Riders have been talking, and rumors are beginning to fly at Rocky. Is the first Earthian Gather sometime in the future? They think so! Carefully saved money will fly as shops will be openned to both the Weyr and the public.
The senior Weyrlings are getting excited. Soon, their Graduation from Weyrling to full-fledged Rider will take place. Though a little late for many of them, and in some cases, early, they can't wait to officially call themselves Dragonmen and Dragonwomen - of Earth!
