okay. Since this really doesn't need to go and muss up Topaz's pretty new post, all pets are being posted here until they can be made into a list! Requirments for putting up a pet here is simply to state Age, Owner, Gender and Species (such as Horse, Dog, Cat, ect.) If not posted correctly your pet will not be added to the list and therefor not added to the Weyr until appropriate changes have been made.

Faizah's Pets!!!



This is Sunset! She is a six year old palomino Arabian cross mare (Horse). Faizah aquired her from an auction where she would have been sold to a factory for glue or dog food. Sunset loves Faizah very much and would do anything for her.



This is Weed! He is a 1.5 year old tora-ge Akita dog. Faizah got him from a local Akita rescue where he had been since being found on the side of the road at 3 weeks old. With a great amount of training Weed is very sociable and even enjoys playing with the dragons and flitters.



This is Baby! Faizah hasn't brought this bundle of joy back to the Weyr yet, but is already attached. Baby is a 6 week old calico kitten. Faizah came to adopt this little fluff ball from the local shelter where she and her little brother had been seized from a kitten mill. Baby is a shy little kit at first, but then she is very hyper and happy.

Kain's Pets!



This is Hellsing! He is a 3 year old Friesian stallion (Horse). Kain came across this guy when he was only a small colt who had lost his mother due to a wolf attack. Kain spent many weeks and sleepless nights nursing the young colt and training him. Hellsing adores Kain and will only allow the Crow native to ride him. Hellsing also refuses to have any form of tack.

Nakia's Pets!



This is Flicka! Flicka is a 3 month old pinto foal (Horse). Nakia brought this little foal to Rocky with her after a friend's mare delivered out of season. Flicka is quite attached to Nakia, and Nakia is relying heavily on Faizah to help her train the little thing.



This is Guadelupe! He is a grey 3 year old DSH cat. Nakia got Guadelupe when a neighbors cat had kittens. While it hadn't been her entention, she quickly got attached to the strange cat. While in her Weyr, where Guadelupe is kept from harm, the little grey refuses to leave Nakia's side.



This is Caley! Caley is a pitbull/labrador mix that Nakia brought with her to Rocky when she knew her mother wasn't going to care for the dog. Caley is about three years old, and rather new to dragons. Nakia is hoping that faizah will help her train the dog before she gets the run of the Weyr. Otherwise Caley is a very loving, yet hyper dog.

Heh. I think Shinji and Miyuki are gonna have a dog. They may or may not bring him to the weyr though.
I'm going to get a slightly neater one set up for now, alongside the wing list, maybe. Or not. I dunno. I'm lazy and it's late.

A NOTE ABOUT OWNING PETS:

Please be realistic about having a pet in the Weyr. Regardless if your character had a pet in his home before coming to Rocky, not all of them would be able to follow. Full riders from Pern could most likely bring a dog, cat, or some similarly sized animal. There's no way a horse would ride comfortably in a dragon's clutches. And no tunnelsnakes please. xD Earthian's who are independent(have a license/car/their own supply of money), will probably be able to bring whatever kind of animal they like up to the Weyr. If you intend on an exotic creature, just make sure that it's somewhat suited for life in the mountains. Or maybe if your younger character has very supportive parents, it would make sense that they would assist in the transporting of said animals. Lastly, please no more than three animals. This is a Weyr, not a zoo. ^-^'

Um. I've got a grand total of one pet? Ari's beast of a kitty. Prepare for WAYYYY too much information.

Name: Bruiser
Species: Mixed breed Cat-thing.
Age: 11 years
Gender: Male

Info: Bruiser is a rather LARGE feline Arianne sort of adopted when she was living with her family near the shipyard. Naturally, the shipyard had a good deal of cats begging for whatever refuse the fishermen might bring back, but most of them are pretty feral or avoid humans entirely.
Bruiser is an exception. He'd been the king Tom among the cats, and he wasn't afraid to strut his stuff. Incredibly arrogant (even for a feline) he spent his days ruling his kingdom; trouncing the other toms stupid enough to challenge him, keeping an eye on his harem of females, and yowling loudly and off-key at the fishermen who tried to come near him.

SOMEHOW, Ari managed to make friends with him. (The secret involved fresh fish entrails and cream.) He ended up adopting her, and every time she would come around his part of the docks, he'd find her and warble conversationally. He even (oh-so-graciously) let her pat his rather scuffed head, and gave her the priveledge of supporting his rather large bulk on her lap during sunny afternoons.

When Ari first went off to Ista Weyr, he was devastated. He moped, sulked, and beat up other cats with more anger than was normal. He was thouroughly displeased when the girl came back a few moths later (mostly to visit her family, but Bruiser was convinced she came for him.)
However, when she rather patiently tried to explain to the cat she was going to be leaving for the Weyr premanently, he tried to bite her. It was only after Dracouth rather patiently explained to the cat the situation (and make no mistake, Bruiser took a swipe at the dragon, too) that Ari was informed (via dragon) that Bruiser wished to accompany her- he was losing his edge and a young tomhad bested him in a fight, so he saw no reason not to retire, as it were. So she took him to Ista. He was quite pleased with his new quarters, and the weyrstaff didn't really mind someone to help out in weeding out tunnelsnakes. When she got her orders to transfer to Rocky, she figured she'd bring Bruiser along there too. (She'd grown rather attatched to the old fart.) He now spends his time being the big boss cat, hunting mice (he LOVES mice) and other small critters that plague the Weyr, and sunning himself in the hatching grounds. Firelizards beware.

Bruiser (his name given to him by a sailor who wasn't particularly fond of him) is a large cat, easily the twice the size of a normal cat. Many are convinced he's part wild bobcat, but no one can be sure (Someone rather more versed in cats has decided he's part Maine Coon, part LION). He's thick, and heavy, built like a small lynx (the tom is about thirty-three pounds too), even down to his slightly tufted ears. He's a rather typical brown tabby, with russet base coat marked by deep sienna and charcoal tabby markings, with delicately white feet and a white chest, and stunning turquoise eyes. His fur is exceptionally long, and his tail is more fur thananything. He tends to look a little rumpled, despite that Ari tries to keep him groomed, and he'd got a myriad of battlescars. His tail doesn't bend right still, and both his ears have chunks taken out; he's also got some impressive scars on his muzzle (and all over.)
He still picks fights and tries to assert his kingship of the cats in the Weyr, but he's definitely getting older, and he's taken to napping and lounging much more. (But don't mess with him. He WILL thrash you.) Ari loves him to death, and even Dracouth is fond of his small bossy friend. (Bruiser really likes the dragon, too, though he won't admit it. But he will sleep on the brown's back during sunny days.)

Virika's Pets


This is Snowball. He is a 4 year old chihuahua, purebred. Virika became the owner of Snowball when her mother decided on a smaller dog for the family. After a few short months, each member of the family had their own small dog, and Snowball was passed to Virika. Snowball is a calm dog, but can be a ball of energy when it comes time to play.


This is Gina. She is a 2 year old persian cat, given to Virika as a house warming gift when she got her first apartment. Gina was bought from a poor breeder. Gina is the calmest cat Virika has ever seen, at all times of the day.

Mentari's Pets!


This is Cherri. She is a 2 year old red squirrel. And yes, she is Mentari's pet.Cherri was given to Mentari as her tenth birthday present by a wild life rehabilitator that happened to be a family friend. Cherri is a hyper pet, always running around and getting into things. But Cherri is obediant when either Faizah or Mentari speak to her. Cherri adores playing with the flitters, especially the playful Christopher.

Name: Couerl (pronounced: Ko-errl)
Named after a cat in a storybook Riley used to have.

Owner: Riley
Age: Adult, estimated about six years of age.
Species/Breed: Cat, unknown breed.

Couerl is on the large side, but lean and sleek. A solid black coat of short sleek fur that he takes excellent care of almost always shines rather impressively in tandem with electric-yellow eyes, and he likes to sit and be admired. Riley found him wandering aroun the Weyr one day, and when the little feline managed to stare down Risk for the rights to a dead bird, Riley was rather impressed.

Hence, the wherling started to keep and eye out for the cat, and occasionally he brought treats to the cat. They became quick friends, and the cat just one day up and decided to move in to their Quarters. (Risk was grumpy for a bit, but he found that the cat tended to keep small annoying insects away, and gave in.)
Now Couerl can be seen near Riley most of the time, acting as bossy and posessive as any other cat.
(He tolerates Kye most of the time, but has been quick to insist that Riley's bed belongs to the cat, and no one else. Kye ignores the rule and tosses the cat to the floor. They don't favor each other, really.)
