Figures. It didn't seem as if it was possible, though she knew it was true. She just read too darn fast. Why? Who knows. It figured. She couldn't have read this speed when she had first learned to read. Hell, it had taken until she was in third grade to do so. She had even been slowing so she could read to her Beloved as he grew.
Brittany Copeland, brainiac extrordanaire, was out of books.
She glared at the shelves, seething. Brittany love, you dont need a book do you? You have me....I'll tell you a story! the last part was impulsive, as it often was when it came to the sweet Blue she had Impressed. Useckoth would always say things at the spur of the moment, most of the time never thinking of it.
She grinned momentarily, and then stopped. Oh, I know, but when you're asleep, who'll tell me a story then, hm? I'm always reading, no matter what. You know that.
Oh yeah.... He thought for a moment before blurting something else out. You can....Uh....ask for Faizah to order some new books you like and I can stay awake for as long as it takes them to get here!
She couldn't help but laugh.

Truth was, Tiffanie was not a woman often found in the library. Except...very occasionally she *did* like to read. The right kind of book.
She had realized that there was a downside to this dragonrider thing. It was hard to keep herself looking good...made all the harder by the fact that Cioeth was completely, shamelessly, utterly vain. The laugh distracted her. She glanced to see its...
"Oh, hey there, Brittany."
She didn't know the girl well; she did know she had Impressed a blue dragon and it was common Pernese wisdom that female blueriders were most often lesbians. Male greenriders were almost always gay. Just the way it was. She supposed that gay people gave off some kind of mental vibes that were of the opposite sex, or something.
Of course, Cioeth was part blue, but Cioeth *was* a girl dragon. Emphatically so...she was more feminine than some of the greens.

Liam closed his eyes, snapping the book in his hands shut with a barely audible snap. He'd been hiding in one of the back corners of the library, retreating to the seclusion of the books like he'd been able to do back home, but of course, all good things must come to an end.
He stood, unfolding his rather considerable height and setting the book back on the shelf in it's proper rank and file by simple habit, then folding his arms behind his back and rather silently moving out from behind the shelves to simply raise and eyebrow at the two weyrling girls. A blue and a green, they'd impressed, he remembered. Or...a green-blue. He steeled himself for a second, then nodded his head to the young women. Always better to be polite, no matter how much the thought of a certain green-blue dragon entirely unrelated to this girl's little one made him want to kill something.
So he just cleared his throat politely and tired to guess if it wouldn't just be better to flee. He didn't like confrontation, and he was nervous around women. And men. And humanity in general. "Er. Sorry. Afternoon, ladies."

....The Bue Sword, Spindle's End, Sunshine....
Brittany glanced up from scanning the titles of the books on the shelves to see another weyrling, a girl about her own age. "Oh, uh, hey Tiffanie." She went back to the books. "Know any good books I can read?"
....Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, Blood of the Fold....
And another appeared. Of course. She glanced up, a flash of impatince in her eyes, but it faded as she noticed who it was. Liam. She often saw him among the shelves, or in a corner, reading. "Hallo Liam!" She said, smiling. She stood, brushing off her jeans and tee. "Wie geht? How're you?"
Who you taking to, Brit? Useckoth asked, curious. Liam, and Tiffanie. He snorted. She prob'ly wants to "get to know you better." Hah!
Shush, sweetheart. she murmured softly, condecending. If she wants to "get to know" me like that, I'll set her straight.
What about Liam and Skirth? They're cool.
Useckoth!
"Sooooo...."

((This thread needs some life...))
Kain managed to squeeze through the door of the library, carrying the huge box Faizah had handed him. What they needed new books for was beyond him. But he might as well let Faizah order what she wanted. She did run this place fairly well, considering how many nutcases were here from Pern...
Kain stopped in his tracks as he noticed the three before him. Liam, a brown rider whose dragon was really black, Brittany, who had Impressed a striped blue, and Tiffanie, who had Impressed one of Isath's chimera dragonets. He shrugged, setting the box down before him. Liam looked rather nervous...
"Liam, want to give me a hand with the other few boxes?" Kain asked. He nodded his head to Tiffanie and Brittany. "Greetings, ladies." He said simply as he awaited Liam's answer.
