[ooc: Thread takes place a few hours after Jadavath's Flight]
The broken and battered body of Aricoth lay lifelessly on the floor of the infirmary. He looked dead, and Ku'rt thought he was for a moment there, but there was no anguished kreening of dragons, and no hole ripped open in his heart, so Aricoth couldn't be dead. Ku'rt, the normally cheery and fun-loving weyrling, now hugging Aricoth's head to his chest as he kneeled beside the blue dragon. "Aricoth..." he murmured, resting his cheek on the warm forehead of the blind dragon. "You couldn't be more careful? It was only a Flight..."
On the shoulder of Ku'rt, Luna chirped, peering at Aricoth with worried yellow-orange eyes. If only she didn't drop out and leave the blue to fly on his own. Even the small green's brain could figure that one out. Luna crooned sadly, nuzzling Ku'rt's head. "Luna..." The blue weyrling scratched at Aricoth's eye ridge, and looked up at the doctor tending to Aricoth's curled form. "So? What's wrong? How is he? Will he be fine?"
The doctor paused in his careful examination of the blue's wing. "Broke a wing, but that's nothing a splint can't fix. He also seems to have broken a rib or two..." the doctor assessed, scooting around the blue's wing to press up against Aricoth's rib cage. "Otherwise, he's lucky to get away with scrapes and bruises. The trees did much to slow his fall so that he didn't hit the ground too hard. Just take it easy for the next few weeks, and he can't fly either, not with a splint, alright?"
Ku'rt nodded. "You hear that, Aricoth? You'll be just fine..." he smiled sadly, returning his attention to his poor blue. It wasn't the loss of the green that kept his spirits down--the fact that he was so stupid to go crashing into the forest... But Ku'rt didn't care about that. He was only concerned that his dragon was safe. Aricoth shifted slightly. They were in the back part of the infirmary already, so moving wasn't a problem. Ku'rt was sure that Aricoth was going to be staying here for a couple of days anyway. He wasn't going to force the defeated blue to move.
"I'll have to splint the wing now, so let me get my supplies, okay?"
As the doctor left, Ku'rt moved to sit by Aricoth's chest, closer to the center of the blue. "Aricoth, I won't leave. Don't worry," the weyrling whispered into the blue's ear. He was staying rather silent. Aricoth closed his milky white eyes and moved his head away. On Ku'rt shoulder, Luna chirped again, gliding down from her perch to cuddle up next to Aricoth.
