H'vas could walk to the feeding grounds from his basically ground level Weyr. Cherath was already gorging herself on a fat bull. H'vas smiled at his lovable green, being unable to hear much around him thanks to the sound-cancelling headphones he had plugged in to his MP3 player. He fidgeted with the silver chain that was brushing against his bare chest. His jeans were very tight, accentuating the toned legs underneath. He took a spot next to the fence, and watched his dragon devour her meal. The song he was currently hearing made it seem eerily beautiful to watch her rend flesh.
"Cherath, be careful of the penned up beasts. You aren't allowed to eat those."
Cherath raised her head from the kill she'd made to snort at her bonded.
"I know, Minesoul. I was not hatched yesterday."

The feeding grounds was a quick flight away from the weyr, and that fact was proven by Brynath’s shadow speeding over Hy’ka a number of times. Each time, Hy’ka looked up to see the shimmering blue-green hide of the dragon glint dimly in the fleeting sunlight. It had been rather overcast lately, but that wasn’t going to stop a dragon’s hide--especially not a recently bathed and oiled dragon’s hide. Letting out a chuckling cough, Hy’ka continued to pick his way through the rugged path down to the lake. Once or twice, the weyrling nearly tripped on a rock, stumbling forward only to catch his balance again. In his mind, the low sound of Brynath laughing was present. I’d like to see you walk through these, you clumsy blue, Hy’ka mentally spat, but in good humor.
Brynath’s shadow grew larger as the blue flew lower. You know, there is a pathway to the lake. You do not have to struggle over rocks, the blue pompously stated. The fence of the feeding grounds loomed bigger in front of Hy’ka, and Brynath took that as the sign for him to choose his meal. Already a dragon was there, feasting on her kill. Brynath bugled a short greeting to the green as he landed with a gentle touch. Though conditioned to not fear dragons as much as wild beasts, the bovine did back away. A predator entering their area never left a good sign in the end.
I guess I could have taken that path, and not break my ankles with each step, but that’s no fun. And I decided to have a little fun walking down here. You could have just flown me, you know. Hy’ka heard the blue’s roared greeting, and looked up, pausing mid-step, to finally take note of the green that was devouring a bovine. “Oh, we are not the only ones here,” he muttered to himself, as he approached the rider leaning against the fence. Though said rider wouldn’t have been able to hear him anyway. Hy’ka had seen those odd contraptions before. Headphones, were they not? They were very weird… Projecting music into your head. Hy’ka currently was not a fan of them, considering his first experience was with mind-numbing death metal.
You are going to say hi, right? Have we met before? Cherath... Brynath murmured, racking his already short memory for something about the green and Hers. Nothing came up. Not surprising, since dragons weren’t known for their ‘amazing’ memories.
Yes, I have seen him before. New to Rocky, but I have seen him. Cherath is the name of his green, yes. The rider is H’vas, by the way, Hy’ka trailed off to wonder why he was bothering with this, since Brynath would just forget it in a few day’s time. “Hey, H’vas, right?” Hy’ka prodded with his speech, watching his step to make his way over to the elder rider. “H’vas!” Knowing the greenrider wouldn’t be able to hear him with those headphones on, Hy’ka forced himself up to the fence, leaning forward on it, and bending around to stick his face into H’vas’s. “’Afternoon!” Hy’ka said, jerking his head upwards in recognition of the rider.
In the feeding grounds, Brynath sat off to the side. He was going to pick out a beast to eat, but watching Hy’ka seem like more fun. I wonder about you... he commented about Hy’ka, who was currently making himself look odd by shoving his face into the face of a rider.

Faizah and Surth were soaring overhead, upside down. Yes, they were doing this on purpose, and Faizah rather enjoyed it. When they were directly over the lake Faizah allowed herself to fall from the back of her great white, turned herself and entered the cold waters of the lake in a pencil dive. Surth chuckled as Faizah surfaced with a gasp from the cold shock before he headed for the feeding grounds. He was hungry, and Faizah knew every path and trail that surrounded Rocky, so she was more than able to walk herself to the feeding pens.
Faizah smiled as she saw Surth fly towards food. She herself began to swim towards land, needing to get out of the frigid waters. What had she been thinking? Well, her moodiness lately had become annoying to herself, so a jump from the back of a dragon and into cold water was what she needed to clear her mind. Call her crazy, but it worked. When she reached shore she began to ring out her clothes as she hurried to the feeding grounds, where she found Surth already dining on his favorite; goats. Faizah also noticed two other Riders there, with their dragons. She immediately recognized and greeted the dragons. "Greeting Cherath. Greetings Brynath."

H'vas smirked and planted a bold kiss directly to Hy'ka's lips. He let it linger briefly before sliding off the headphones. He pulled away and winked.
"A bold move, you got what was coming to you. Hello...Hy'ka, right?"
He switched off his MP3 player and put the headphones around his neck. Cherath trilled at her bonded, knowing just how coy he could be.
"Don't scare off every male rider you meet by kissing them...Although I don't blame you with him."
H'vas actually blushed a bit from Cherath's comment. He crossed his legs and looked over to Faizah.
"Greetings, Weyrwoman. You look drenched."
Cherath looked up at Brynath and Surth. She nodded in greeting to them both.
"Hello Blue/Green Brynath and White Surth."

Faizah turned to H'vas. "Indeed I am. A dive into the lake will leave anyone drenched." She decided not to comment on the kiss she had seen between the men, and instead looked around. It seemed to her that they were running low on livestock. She needed to order more...
Greetings to you as well, Green Cherath. Surth said as he continued to eat his goats. He was on his third by that time.

H'vas chuckled quietly as the Weyrwoman averted her eyes from the two men. He slid off the fence and stroked the back of his hand on Hy'ka's cheek.
"We should hang out in my Weyr sometime, Hy'ka. I would enjoy the company."
He walked over to Faizah and held out his hand to have it shaken.
"I haven't been formally introduced to you yet."
Cherath finished off her bull and licked her mouth clean from the blood. She inspected the large white and mentally cooed to Hers.
"I foresee you having quite a bit of fun with Brynath's bonded."
H'vas spoke his rebuttal out loud.
"Well, I foresee you having quite a bit of fun with Brynath."

Faizah laughed at the bickering of the green rider and his green. She took his offered hand, shaking it with a bit more strength than she though he though her capable of. She smiled before she answered. "I am Faizah Pandora, the Weyrwoman here, as you seem to know. That is my white, Surth. My gold flitter, Reyna, is around the Weyr somewhere. Expect her to be moody and testy; she flew recently."

H'vas nodded once, only to be taken off guard by his curious blue flit peeking from between his knees. He squealed in the manner of a girl, causing his blue firelizard to between on to Cherath's head. Dart screeched at His to not scare him. H'vas caught his breath and sent a soothing thought to his flit.
"Oof. Sorry. Dart, my blue flit, surprised me. He's quite the curious little spazz."
Cherath crossed her eyes to stare at the flit sittiing on the bridge of her nose. She snorted loudly and watched the flit just stare at her. He projected an image of her eyes crossed to focus on him with a hint of laughter.
"Minelove, your flit is sitting on my nose. He makes it itch."
'Well then, mentally chase him off. The little bugger ain't hurting anyone."
Cherath just continued to amuse her little blue friend by staring at him cross-eyed.
"Well my eyes hurt little flit, so I have to straighten them out."
Dart chirped and skittered off of Hisgreenone's nose. He was still laughing to himself.

When the older rider didn’t so much as twitch while Hy’ka invaded his bubble, Hy’ka started to frown. Over the shoulder of H’vas, he spotted the weyrwoman approaching. Surth had just flown by overhead. Here is where it started to get interesting… Opting for ignoring the greenrider, Hy’ka was about to move away to greet the weyrwoman. Time slowed temporarily as Hy’ka slightly opened his mouth to speak, only to have H’vas lean in close, and prevent speech by way of a very forward kiss. “Uwah…?” Hy’ka gasped in surprise, his eyes wide for a moment. Somehow, he didn’t mind it. Didn’t mind the kiss randomly planted on his lips. The weyrling had jerked back, but now he himself leaned forward, into the kiss.
As abruptly as it came, H’vas pulled away, saying something that passed in one ear and out the other, before turning on the spot to direct his attention to the soaking-wet Faizah. The initial shock caused Hy’ka to freeze. It was the soft touch of the hand of H’vas that set Hy’ka’s mind reeling. He inhaled sharply, still stuck in that leaning over position. Before, he had no feelings for this rider. He passed by him in the hallways. Hy’ka met him briefly, but never held a conversation. It was like opening a new door. Warm air rushed over Hy’ka as the recent actions dawned on him.
“Hey, wait, come back here…” he whispered, paying no mind to the conversation between the weyrwoman and H’vas. Hy’ka stepped forward, a raspy whine floating from his open and gaping mouth.
Hy'ka? Brynath wondered, having seen the kiss but thought nothing of it. After all, Hy’ka had no sexual preference. Why should his dragon care? Especially one that was both male and female. The weyrling pair was interesting like that. But he didn’t respond. Hy'ka, are you all right? Not yet completely worried, Brynath picked out a middle-sized goat for himself to eat. The blue dipped his head respectfully towards the Weyrwoman before hunkering down to tear into his meal. Greetings to you both, Surth and Cherath. It is a nice day, is it not? Brynath responded, thought it was a rhetorical question. He kept an eye on the stammering and confused Hy’ka.
"A bold move, you got what was coming to you. Hello...Hy'ka, right?"
Those words finally took root in Hy’ka’s confused mind. His mind cleared. He could think again, and breathe for that matter. Hy’ka was utterly unaware that he had held his breath. However, the rider was now facing away from Hy’ka, preventing him from responding to the comment. While his mind was clear, that wasn’t going to stop him from making a particularly bold move. “Hy’ka it is--excuse me Weyrwoman--and I don’t believe I finished with you!” The blue weyrling regained his composure, and deliberately stepped to the rider’s side. “I think I forsee a bit of fun, myself. Now let me finish this.” Hy’ka grasped H’vas’ shoulder, using that point to pull both H’vas down, and himself up and around, Hy’ka’s face once again close to the greenrider’s. He didn’t give the rider a chance to react, and at this point, Hy’ka didn’t care that the Weyrwoman was there. He forced H’vas into a kiss, passionately pressing his lips against the rider’s.
Brynath looked up from his kill to see the two men once again kissing. If he could raise an eyebrow, the dragon would. I wonder... Is that going to happen often while Hy'ka is around Yours? he asked the green. The blue tilted his head to glance over at Cherath. Brynath himself wasn’t too worried. Hy’ka could be impulsive. One would think that he would at least wait until I've had my first Flight. At least. the blue dragon muttered to no one in particular.

H'vas blushed and wrapped placed one hand on the back of Hy'ka's head. He ignored Cherath's cautionary snort and pressed his tongue playfully past Hy'ka's soft lips. His other hand snaked around the blue/green weyrling's waist, pulling him closer.
Cherath turned to Brynath and gave a mental sigh. She hadn't seen H'vas enjoy himself in a while.
"Maybe. I don't know. As long as Mine is happy, I am happy."

“Mfff…” Hy’ka growled. He didn’t mean for it to go this far (at the same time, it was strangely pleasant). There was nothing he could do though, not with H’vas’ hand preventing him for breaking it off. Especially not since H’vas had taken the advantage and pulled Hy’ka closer to his body. Shards…? he thought, but even as he thought it, the phrase disappeared from his mind. Hy’ka allowed the older rider to infiltrate his space. He didn’t protest again from the invading tongue that poked at his mouth. Hy’ka used his own free arm to draw H’vas closer, turning the tables only slightly. Now H’vas couldn’t get away, not if he wanted to. And Hy’ka melted on the spot. This rider was so much taller than him… He felt engulfed by his height.
Brynath sent Hy’ka a personal chuckle. He hadn’t seen this much action in a couple of months, had he? I suppose, Brynath resigned, agreeing with Cherath’s statement. I think I'll have to take measures to make sure this doesn't go too far, however. As much as I want Mine to be happy... He's going to have to wait to have any kind of intimate relations, the blue added with a tone of a playful threat. He was going to keep to his word though. Reaching down, Brynath ripped a chuck of flesh off of the goat, and swallowed it.

H'vas indulged in the deep kiss for a bit longer. He hadn't felt a rush of feeling like this since Cherath's first Flight about a year earlier. Dart chirped at His from on top of Cherath's head, not understanding the waves of emotion coming from H'vas.
Cherath nudged Brynath and let her eyes whirl blue with amusement.
"Surely you wouldn't deny them a non-sexual relationship? Mine is very much taken with Yours."

He allowed himself to be taken away from here. Hy’ka felt light-headed and free-spirited. He had a couple of flings before, as a candidate with confused emotions and raging hormones, but this was on a different level. Hy’ka felt himself burning up. Was it blush? Embarrassment? The weyrwoman was right there behind them… Or did he feel something towards this rider? Hy’ka didn’t want it to end though. He hung on, preferring to sift through his mixed emotions later.
Hmph. I don't see why not. I think the feelings are mutual here, but Mine is thoroughly confused. Brynath had to laugh at this. He shifted his weight from one side to the other, and opened his blood-stained maw to let out a short growl of laughter. Brynath did his best to hold back the emotions that flowed into him via Hy’ka’s mental state. It might be a while before Mine is able to look at Yours again! the blue joked.

H'vas ran his right hand through Hy'ka's hair, not wanting to pull away from him. He'd never felt like this with any of the other men at the Weyr. Not this intense. The intensity of the emotion even caused Cherath to shift uneasily. Dart had to between away from H'vas to escape the overpowering feeling.
"H'vas...Are you okay? Your emotions are very powerful."

These last few seconds felt like eternity--an eternity that Hy’ka never wanted to leave. He felt H’vas play with his hair, and the weyrling suppressed a shiver. He let H’vas hold him hostage, preventing his escape. There was nothing wrong, other than their ranks. A rider making out with a weyrling…? Hy’ka didn’t care--but the thought of the weyrwoman behind him lurked. “Mmph!” Hy’ka muttered in a muffled voice. He didn’t want this to end, but it had to--Hy’ka removed his hands from his hold on H’vas, resigning to place them gingerly on the older man’s chest. Gently, Hy’ka pushed H’vas away. By the first shell, what was he doing? The weyrling loved the contact. Why push it away?
“Enough…” he whispered, but his mind said otherwise. Hy’ka fell back onto his feet, his toes hurting from reaching up to the taller rider. He pushed H’vas away, careful to avoid eye contact. Hy’ka was sure that his face was burning up, a bright red blush spreading across his cheeks. He stepped away, backwards, keeping his eyes averted, and head hanging low. His mouth felt strange and dry. H’vas was certainly a turn-on... “Enough,” Hy’ka murmured again, trying to walk away, and leave the greenrider behind.
Hy'ka? Hy'ka, are you alright? Brynath repeated. The blue stood up, leaving a half-eaten goat behind. He took a cautionary step forward, no longer interested in eating his meal. But rather making sure the rider didn’t harm His. A low rumbling started to form deep in Brynath’s throat. Dearest Hy'ka? Did he hurt you? Do you need to leave? As fast as a large dragon could, Brynath crossed the feeding grounds to where Hy’ka stood. The mixed feelings from the weyrling only served to make Brynath more concerned. He couldn’t sift through them. The blue’s eyes swirled yellow and red, creating tinges of orange.
I am fine, Brynath, calm down. Hy’ka ran his fingers through his hair, still able to feel H’vas’ touch on the back of his head and around his waist. This time, Hy’ka allowed himself to shudder. He hugged himself and held his arms tightly against his chest. Emotions ran through his mind like an excited flitter, disappearing and reappearing, then zooming on by. Kivral winked out of between, finally deciding to show his face. Too bad he also received a mental overload of emotions. Kivral squawked, and wheeled around to circle around Brynath’s head. Hy'ka's eyes darted up to look at the brown fire lizard, but that caused him to see H'vas. Still confused as to how he should feel from the sudden acquaintance with H'vas, Hy'ka turned to the side.
Brynath snorted, careful to send soothing thoughts to Kivral, effectively calming his own mind. If you are sure, Hy'ka. But remember, I am here, watching out for you. The blue backed away from the fence, keeping an eye on Hy’ka, as well as one on H’vas. Though the rapid swirling of his eyes had slowed to a dull blue-green twitch, Hy’ka wasn’t oblivious to the yellow color of alarm that rimmed the edges.

H'vas exhaled loudly as Hy'ka broke the kiss. He felt a sting when the Weyrling would not look him in the eyes afterward. Could he really have fallen for this Weyrling after just a couple kisses? Cherath's eyes took on a yellow-orange mix, whirling slowly.
"Mineheart? Are you alright? You seem confused."
H'vas sent a silent thought of confirmation to his green. He cleared his throat before addressing the weyrling again.
"Would you mind coming to talk to me later, in my Weyr? And..I'm sorry if I have upset or confused you."

Faizah just stared with a cocked eyebrow. She knew she should look away but it was like a bad car crash; odd to see but you just can't look away. When the kiss was broken Faizah shook her head and looked at Surth enjoy his meal, waiting for them to say something that would steer the conversation away from raging hormones and awkward situations that seemed to be popping up everywhere these days. She herself remembered her awkward scene with K'ryn, especially slapping him...
Yeah, she was not proud of that...

H'vas exhaled again and looked over to the Weyrwoman. She was watching Surth very intently. He gazed up at Cherath as she lapped the blood off her face. Dart popped back into view above H'vas and landed on his head.

Faizah shrugged. "Thats life. Filled with odd moments. Think nothing of it." Faizah smiled as she glanced back at the two of them. Then a thought occured to her. She hadn't seen very many male on male or likewise relationships during her short stay on Pern. On Earth they were fairly common, but she devided to try a joke about it either way. She turned back to the weyrling and the rider. "Just don't be sneaking put of lessons for some alone time, you two."

"Nothing to worry about there, Ma'am. I'm a full rider. I was at the top of my clutch in the lessons."

Faizah laughed. "I don't disbelieve it. I was merely joking. It is no fun to be so serious all the time." Faizah was still iling as she answered the green. Some Riders were just too serious. Faizah blamed Thread for that, and they just needed to learn that they needn't be so serious on Earth.

"Would you mind coming to talk to me later, in my Weyr? And..I'm sorry if I have upset or confused you."
Hy’ka didn’t turn around at H’vas’ words. He ignored them, as best as he could. But really…? Upset or confused him? Hardly. That was exhilarating. Hy’ka felt breathless thinking about it (of course, he was breathless during the kiss). But just H’vas’ soft touch… He could feel his body against his. What he wouldn’t do for that again.
Tch! But this was no place to think about such things! The weyrwoman was right behind him, and though Hy’ka could not see her face, he was sure that she was staring. Staring at him and H’vas, wondering. She may not show it with her current expression, words, or actions, but Faizah was totally thinking about it. H’vas carried on a conversation with the Weyrwoman as Hy’ka stood awkwardly to the side, his back to both of them.
Are you sure you do not want to leave...? We can, if you must. I will take you away from here, Brynath assured his rider. He had stepped away from the fence and the three riders, but he didn’t direct his attention away from Hy’ka. He approached the subject carefully, not wanting to upset His.
I... I think I would like that, Hy'ka responded to Brynath. He still hadn't moved, but now the weyrling took a deep breath. He had thought about turning around, facing H'vas and the weyrwoman, to at least let them know that he was leaving, but Hy'ka couldn't bring himself to. Instead, he didn't turn around. He kept his back to them and their conversation of lessons. Hy'ka wasn't going to skip lessons, definitely not. Why would the Weyrwoman even think of such a thing? "I'm leaving," Hy'ka announced, raising his voice to be heard over Faizah and H'vas.
Hy'ka didn't look back, and did not plan on it, no matter how much H'vas might have protested. His mind was too full of colliding thoughts to allow himself to think straight. The weyrling wasn't about the face H'vas at this time. Brynath left his half-eaten meal, sacrificing his hunger for the sake of his rider. He took a short leap over the fence, so that he may walk beside His. Trailing behind the two, Kivral took wing, and only looked back once to chirp a greeting to the blue flitter.

Faizah turned to Hy'ka. "Why're you leaving? Did something upset you?" Faizah asked. Her face turned into what Kain called her "Mother-Hen-face". She supposed she did try to mother the Weyrlings and others at Rocky a little much, but that was just her nature.
