Gruulath lay by the lake sunning himself. His bonded sat on a rock with his feet dangling in the cool clear water. The Brown had never understood T'sai's need to be near water, but Gruulath loved T'sai to much to care about his rider's idiosyncrasies. After his inital talk with the two kind Blues, Gruulath's eye had begun to have some blue creep up around the edges of the grey, and his slightly greater appetite had served to flesh him out abit. He wasn't better, but he was closer than before.
The Brown shifted and stretched his disused wings. They ached occasionally with the need to fly, but Gruulath ignored them. The last time he flew had almost caused to deaths, and that trauma still haunted him every time the desire to leave the ground arose. Folding his wings at his side once more, Gruulath settled down again.
Waves of contentment came from his rider as his bonded laid down and closed his eyes, his feet still in the water. Gruulath snorted. His rider was so laid back.
As soon as he felt his bonded slip into a light sleep, Gruulath shuffled over to T'sai's side. The big Brown proceeded to hang his over the slow moving water and look at his reflection. He looked normal except for the gaping eye socket. Growling, Gruulath plunged his muzzle in the water and chased away his image.
The blue Noxceventh had said there were others worse off then him. Gruulath wanted to meet them. He wanted to heal so that one day, he would be worthy of his Beloved T'sai once more.
