Samira sat in one of those comfy chairs that were always to big for her. She sat there, with one hand cupping her elbow and the other hand cupping her cheek, drumming her fingers respectively. You would think that being a Rider would give me more things to do, she thought, sending her thoughts out to Xenith. Especially when that Rider has a Gold and is a Junior Weyrleader! But no answer. Xenith was asleep, again.
She sighed, an almost adorable glare that added a pout to her lips spread across her face. She did not want to carve or sew or play. She had already exhausted those activities in the time she had been here. She could not leave the Weyr, she could not cook, as she had no experience or knowledge of those Earthian contraptions in the kitchen. For the first time in weeks her enthusiasm ebbed and she desperately wished that she was back at Pern, with all of her friends and all of the amazing things that were there.
But she wasn't, so all she could do was sit. And stare at that piece of broken board in front of her. She, who was bored, was staring at a board.

Only a couple weeks had passed since Savana and A'jax were sent to Earth, and while Savana willingly embraced the style the Earthians called "punk", A'jax was still at odds with the different cultures. Added on top of that Dulchanth's occassional moodiness over being sent away because of her injury that was his fault...
As he and Savana entered the library, his sister ran off, eyes glittering at the sheer number of books lining the walls and shelves. With a slight laugh, A'jax wandered around the library, looking for something interesting to skim through. He wasn't the avid reader of the two of them, but at least the flits weren't allowed in here to cause chaos among the books. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw someone with extremely pale hair sitting there pouting at a broken...board? Attention officially piqued, he made his way over. He could hear Savana skimming through books in some distant corner of the library, but the stranger had his attention more.
"Excuse me for intruding, but what did that board ever do to deserve such a pout?" he asked.
