Weyrling Alex and Green Eturynth
Eturynth and Alex watched with detatched attention as one after another chimera dragon emerged from their respective eggs in the chimeras' clutch. The first one, the Blue-Brown one, had quickly reached a low rating, though the second one, a good looking Bronze-Brown reached quite high.
The next one, the most recent one, reached the lowest ranking of all. She, for it was unmistakably mostly Green, was Green-blue Chimera, and with an attitude that nearly matched Eturynth's own, though was, it seemed, much better mannered.
I will not be beaten by a beast of a dragon! she roared to Alex, her eyes swirling red with anger and hot hatred. Her body twitched, her talons clawing the stone beneath her, her wings rising slightly in time with the pulsating color of her eyes. Sweet, we must mind our manners.... Alex began soothingly, but was interupted with the pale Green's mental screech of Like Hellfire I will!and jumping from the teirs. She landed on the Sand and with graceful movements, she quickly, stealthilymade her way across the Sands, her eyes glowing a faster, more hectic red than ever.
Sennia and Brown Seeth
Where Seeth lay in the Sands, he saw his daughter jump to the sands and her angry red eyes. He hadn't missed the Chimera's entrence, nor her attitude, and guessed what she wwished to do. He mentally snickered.
Don't get caught to soon, youngling. Try to make Crucith proud why don't you?

Akira stepped back away from the clutch her nerves getting the better of her. She watxhed as the eggs shook and couldn't help but to chuckle at the young hatchlings as they wandered to their respective canidates. She was a little suprised how well they were doing on their legs, there had yet to be a clumsy young one.

[ooc: To Samari] "Evening Keltin and Keltisk. Did I miss anything?"Lost in his thoughts for the moment, Keltin didn’t respond right away. He noticed the older wherhandler, and Keltisk even tried to get his attention about it by tugging at his sleeves, but the brown handler shook off the wher. “Evening...” he finally responded, his voice distant and eyes still glassy. What if... What if that was him out there, standing for a dragon. He never fit the bill to be a rider, and now Keltin was having second thoughts about trying for a wher instead. He didn’t mind the brown that much, but still. “Anything interesting? Well...” Keltin pointed to the brown-blue chimera with a finger. “That dragon hatched. A brown and blue dragon. A mix of colors like his father.” He nodded to Brynath. “But that’s about it. If the hatching takes too long, I think I’m going to get bored. Keltisk wanted to watch, so I decided that it couldn’t hurt. But apart form the odd color mix, nothing too special.” The handler glanced from the clutch to the gold handler. “Oh, but there seems to be another one, and another as well...” Keltin looked utterly confused. “So many mixes... Is that normal? That can’t be right. Was the clutch tampered with? I’m sure Keltisk and I watched the sands carefully at night, but I find it hard to believe that someone would sneak in at night to mess around with a dragon clutch.” He frowned. “And there seems to be a bit of drama between the hatchlings.” Keltin started forward a bit, Kelisk already at his side and ready. “Did that weyrling just jump onto the sands?” Now alarmed that something would happen between the younger dragons, Keltin took a couple of steps forward, onto the sands, with the young brown at his heels. [ooc: To Alex/Eturynth] One by one, the eggs hatched, all from Isath’s clutch, as Hy’ka took note of. He was sure that Brynath was proud, though he did wonder if Raynith’s clutch was full of duds or not... A few seemed to be rocking, so that was a good sign, but the lack of hatchlings so far seemed to put people on edge. Hy’ka had taken a seat in the stands, while Brynath stayed next to Isath. As such, the rider spotted the green jumping into the sands before Brynath did. “Brynath!” he called, standing up and running to the railing. “Watch out for that green!” What green, Hy'ka? The dragon turned around in time to see a pale green weyrling jump down from her position in the stands. I would watch your step, Weyrling, Brynath said, broadcasting the message to all who would listen. He noticed the red eyes of Eturynth, and he didn’t want anything bad to happen, especially to his own offspring. Brynath’s eyes narrowed, and were their own tinge of red at the edges, but he did his best to keep calm. He stood up on his four legs, easily towering over the younger dragon, and flared his wings, making himself look bigger. I will not have bloodshed at this hatching. The blue tensed his muscles, and moved to put himself between the green weyrling and his offspring. Z’volm wasn’t interested in attending the hatching, especially since it wasn’t Crucith’s, but something drew him to it. He felt a gut feeling that told him to go and watch the hatching. Oddly enough, he followed that feeling. However, he randomly picked a seat in the stands, and happened to be situated by a complaining brownrider and a bluerider that was trying to prove him wrong. The conversation was amusing, and Z’volm had an urge to reach over and stroke the brownrider’s cheek, but a mental burble from Crucith made him pause. Yes?Seeth... Is here. With Sennia. If you wanted to know. But there is a weyrling that is getting riled up, the green filled in Z’volm on the events, all the while hungrily eyeing the blue flitter that was clinging to the rider’s shoulder. It is... Amusing. Keep an eye out for her, yes? Eturynth... She is from my clutch.Hm... Yes. I remember. Z’volm shifted, looking for the weyrling that seemed intent on causing trouble. Each shift of his position made the blue fire lizard on his should cry out in protest. “Nightmare... Be quiet,” he demanded of the flitter, his eyes still scanning the stands. He so easily ignored the hatching of the brown-bronze and the green-blue. “There!” the greenrider yelled out, standing up and pointing at the green weyrling that was jumping down from the stands. “She’s a daring one, though...” He had seen Keltisk on the outskirts, but there was also Brynath that was trying to get the weyrling to back off. * * * Rider D’cian and Bronze Nechuth Not long after D’cian and his dragon arrived, there was S’ael and Zenyth that decided to show up. The bronzerider silently acknowledged the pair as they landed, knowing that they wouldn’t be able to see him, much less respond at this very moment. D’cian moved to get a better view of the greenrider pair that decided to go in closer, taking a spot under and overhang. “That’s S’ael, and now we’re waiting for Max, are we not?” D’cian wondered, looking back up at his bronze, who was curiously eyeing a number of the eggs, and still humming. Nechuth rumbled at D’cian’s words. Zenyth tells me that she and Hers are here. But you knew that, apparently. The bronze let out a soft chuckle. We are waiting for Max and Reliath, yes. Will they be here soon? The eggs are hatching. There was a pause in the rider/dragon conversation as both sides of the pair watched the eggs hatch. Three mixes already. Would they be as lucky? We have to act fast. And what should I tell Zenyth?Anger crossed D’cian’s faced as four of the eggs hatched, though one dragonet, a green, decided to hide behind another egg instead of picking from the line of candidates. “Yes... We would have to act quickly. And the sooner the better, thought this was bad timing to begin with. Oh, and tell Zenyth to keep an eye out for Max, because we need him in order to complete this.” D’cian nodded, and scolded a bit. “Riders should not be keeping us waiting.” The bronzerider frowned, crossing his arms. “He should be here soon.” Of course, D’cian. The bronze growled to clear his throat, and his ruby-red eyes turning to focus on Zenyth. Mine says to keep an eye out for Reliath. They should be here soon, and hopefully he won’t keep us waiting. If we want to anything, we need to act soon. Waiting too long could be bad. And thank you, for arriving on time. The bronze finished.

((Attempting to get Ember in here...no biggie if she doesn't impress, though (Though it would be hilariously appropriate if she managed to impress a chimera like her twin.. that would amuse me to no end.). I'm fail-late, I know. Just trying to get back to things here.))
Tag and Blue/Green Halderoth
There was a gust of cold air as they arrived from between, spiraling down elegantly and making a rather hasty landing by the edge of the sands. Tag grinned excitedly as he helped his twin from his dragon's back, sending her onto the sands with a slight shove. The girl squeaked and stumbled forward, glancing back over her shoulder nervously. Ember still only had half an idea what was going on, and the sight of so many dragons at once had her a little...well, pardoning the pun? Shell-shocked.
Tag just stifled a laugh and thumped Halderoth's neck. The multi-colored dragon was deeply amused by this match-up, and Tag equally so. And, of course, when he managed to overhear the brownrider griping about the chimeras. With a quick wave to Hal to keep the lithe chimera dragon silent, he eavesdropped on the conversation between the (somewhat elitist) brownrider and the young woman he seemed to remember as a bluerider...
Oh. This was funny. "Rank 'em? Well, size works. Or, you know, you could just rank them by their proper place. If a chimera works best in a wing functioning in place of a brown, rank it a brown." He slid up to the brownrider's other side, crossing his arms over his chest and making sure the dual colors of his riders knot (it just amused him to wear one...) were well displayed. "Then again, I can't exactly worry. My dragon refuses to even identify a gender, much less a color. So Perhaps my opinion is moot."
Candidate Ember
Ember had been terrified on the way over. She hadn't really known what was happening, other than the dragons started making strange noises... and then she remembered one of the more prominent pieces of information told to her over the past weeks... "The dragons all start singing when eggs are hatching..."
She'd panicked. Dressing quickly in whatever she could find- which, in this case, was the only white clothing she had (she'd misplaced the 'official' robes somewhere, and she already knew she was late...) so she was wearing a loose white skirt, half-white sneakers, and a heavy maroon sweatshirt...well, damn, it was cold, alright?
When Tag had banged on her door she'd nearly jumped out of her skin, but he had just been yelling about her getting outside- awaiting them was his lovely dragon, the mixed-colored creature patiently crouched by the nearest entrance. Unfortunately, ember had freaked out a little, and there had been a good ten minutes of arguing between her and her brother before Halderoth finally got fed up with the pair of them and told Ember, with no sense of frivolity, to get on it's back and hurry up already.
So she did.
And now she was standing just before the sands, breathing quickly out of nervousness, and staring at the dragons. The green on one side, the chimeric green-gold the other. She automatically fell into auto-pilot, and mumbled a greeting to them both, before tentatively stepping somewhat closer to the eggs. Witch clutch, she had not a clue. She just hoped she hadn't messed up so horribly that she'd lose her chances...
Sasha and White Sashask
The thin Russian man hadn't really thought about coming to the hatching, but his curiosity got the best of him. Hell, with a clutch like the one the two mixes had produced, he had somehow already known he'd be here. Of course, he was never out without his steadfast and burly companion... but, as the white had insisted on escorting 'her' bondmate to the sands, they were rather later than expected...the enormous and decidedly obese white moved at her own pace, and trying to get her to move faster was not recommended if you happened to enjoy the full use of your limbs at the end of the day.
So he sidled in somewhat later than he would have preferred, with his monstrous wher grumbling grouchily and shuffling towards the other whers she spied. She stopped in a nice dark area, just beneath the stands, and groaned as she lay down to watch. She blinked her pale, beady eyes a few times as she searched the grounds, noting the other whers in attendance. The brown and a bronze, she saw. She grumbled again, not quite bothering a verbal greeting, but sending a tendril of thought to each of the whers to let them know she was present.
Sasha just siged and tugged his hunter-green jacket closer around him. He almost wished Sashask had stayed closer...the white beast was quite warm... but, the odd, large, gender-defiant white had chosen her own spot.

Tardith and Amelia Late as Usual... "-and I told you ooooohhhh you did it anyway didn't you Tardith? and now we're late. Good job." Amelia's voice was mostly muffled by the sound of the scarf that had flown across her mouth but even so her dragon snorted and heard her. He attempted to offer an apology but was turned away with a snort and an instruction to land. Amelia jumped down from the blue's back and sighed. She disentangled herself from her scarf and strode forward to stand near the rather small clutch Raynith had produced. With a brief but concerned frown and made a note to see if perhaps any of the green's clutch would hatch. Perhaps she shouldn't have come... Tardith informed her this was absolute rubbish. He wanted to see the clutch even if none hatched. And it was only polite to attend. He sat up and looked quite elegant with his tail wrapped around his forelegs as he greeted Raynith warmly. They have not begun to hatch? he said. Isath's have begun...no matter. We will not worry.

Akira watched the exchange between the blue and the green weyr, in awe of the bravery or stupidity in getting close to the father of the clutch. Deciding the situation could get out off hand quickly, she backed up some.. just in case.
She watched in silence, as the weyr continued to push his luck with the blue. Seeing the blue move to stand in front of the clutch, Akira murmered, "This situation could get very bad. I really do not wish to see bloodshed at a hatching."
The young women watched the muscles in each, wondering if the weyr would actually try and get past the gaurding blue.

Max and Blue Reliath Max came from between with a growl growing in his throat. Damn their luck but Reliath had made them late while trying to time it to make them early! And wouldn't his luck hold, but his blue was humming. "What in hell are you doing, you muddle-brained blue?!" He harshly whispered. I am humming... Reliath answered simply. "Why are you doing that?!" Max demanded. The eggs are hatching... It seems we have unusual bad luck. The others are here. D'cian is not happy with us... The blue stated. "No shit, Sherlock..." Max growled. he gave Reliath the order to land. He did so, alone on a pier to watch. Max noticed that already four hatchlings had hatched. Three of them looked to be the same type of chimera as their father, presumed to be the blue sitting next to the green/gold marked dragon. A brown with blue, a brown with bronze and a green with blue, and then an unImpressed green hiding behind another egg despite encouragement from its mother. "I hope we get lucky enough to get one of those..." Max whispered to himself. He felt Reliath silently agree. Faizah and White Surth There are some strange riders here. They are hiding in the shadows... Surth quietly alerted Faizah. She nodded as she watched the daring green bolt after the green/blue on the sands. She hoped no blood was shed, but she had to leave it up to Brynath and Isath to prevent that. Faizah glanced over at Kain, his face composed as usual, but there was a steely glint to his dark eyes. So Surth or Gorth had told him too. She hoped Isath and Raynith knew it too. Strangers showing up to a hatching unannounced was bad... Nakia and Green/Gold Isath Isath noticed the weyrling running towards her daughter. She growled and moved herself before the dragonet when Brynath's warning didn't stop her. Eturynth! Stay away from Cioeth if you do not wish to feel my fangs!

Cioeth had had all of her attention on her rider, but now...now she realized somebody was challenging her. Never mind that the true green was older and thus larger, the chimera mantled, glaring at her and moving between her and Tiffanie...although the bulk of her mother was now in the way.
"Cioeth...what is it?"
She's challenging me!
Tiffanie managed to get one look around Isath at the older weyrling green. Who was a fine looking dragon, but not nearly as good looking as Cioeth. "Don't let her get to you. That kind? They just want to get a rise, because they know who's really the better. Come. Eat."
A bit of competition between the dragons was one thing, but from what she could see of Eturynth, she looked nasty. Cioeth was going to have to watch her back.
--
S'tor narrowed his eyes. "Somebody...ah yes, they're on it. Oh, the riders of those two are going to have their hands full. They'll probably try and synchronize rising just to see who can get the most males."
There had been a pair of greens like that back on Pern. Of course, Eturynth was definitely the better looking...Cioeth was a freak, after all. But, girl or no girl, he was pleased by the spine the newly Impressed greenrider had shown. Shame there could be no queen...no. If she had the strength for a queen, she wouldn't be a greenrider. Not the way it worked.

Weyrling Alex and Green Eturyth Eturynth heard her sire's amusement in his deep, rough voice. But she did not pay to much attention. She was focused hungrilly on the pathetic thing that thought herself so high as to be more beautiful than her. No one was, and anyone thinking it would pay dearly, she decided. Especially disgusting Chimeras. But no. She had been spotted by wherhandlers and riders and dragon and whers alike. That Brown Wher and His had spotted her first, and had begun to step forward but had stopped, looking alarmed. Hy'ka was next, calling Brynath's attention to the furious Green and the endangered Chimera. His warning growl and vioce ringing out made her slide to a stop, though she was not so tempered as to become calm. She knew that now near everyone's eyes were on her and the Chimera sire. She lifted her lips in a predatory grin. She mimiced Brynath's movement, flaring her own wings, strutting to the side as he did the same to come between her and his offspring. What use are you, Brynath, other than a marvel of Dragon colors? she spat out, resuming her earlier stance. Nothing, nothing at all. You're obviously not wanted at Pern, and this is just a place for outcasts. I would be where you should be, if Mine's idiotic parents would let her leave. You are worthless, just like the rest of you Chimeras. She snapped at the air. Her eyes darted momentarily to those watching and listenning, then to Alex, Seeth, and Crucith before returning on the angry sire. She had allowed all to listen to her speech, and she was extremely proud of it. Eturynth, maybe this isn't the best time for this?Privately, she murmured, Oh, I know, love. That's all I have. For now. She looked boldly into Brynath's eyes and ever so sweetly said Of course I'll watch my step. I must go back to my seat now. Just wanted to give her a welcome she deserved. She turned, and with flowing steps and a held held proudly, she gracefully made her way back to where her Rider sat in silent amusement and annoyance. Pernese Candidate Themorn What was that idiotic beast doing? No Hatchling had as of yet, Impressed to the serious Healer. He watched, quietly, apart from the other Candidates and closer to the Earthian and Pernese Healers that had Gathered at the very edge of the sands. He had, of course seen the pale Green leap into the Sands, and had frowned as she made her way toward the most recently hatched, yet another Chimera, as all so far had been. But the newly Hatched dragonet was guarded by her sire, who spent the next few minutes in a heated confrontation, which, by the sound of it, put the Green at the top, at least temporairily. He frowned. Why, he wondered, would anyone want to stay here? He swore, it must be as bad as when Landing had been discovered, along with the ledengary AIVAS machine here. But he knew that was not fair. Earth had fantastic sciences and great medicinal treatments, and even he was tempted to stay, but only if he Impressed, and most likely not even then. So. Candidate Master J'kent and Green Marith To: Brynath The motherly Green had not moved since she had arrived save to scratch up some Sand to allow her to become more comfortable. Bu it seemed, her temporary haven would be disrupted, and not my a Candidate being mauled, it seemed. No, but a Weyrling might be very soon, it seemed. A pale green had entered the Sands, being, for some reason, extremely mad at a certain dragonet. Brynath had her at bay it seemed, until she heard the barage of insults that Eturynth aimed at him, and other Chimeras as well. She growled, and stood, watching through narrowed eyes. What is it dearest? asked J'kent groggily. A Weyrling it seems, has a horrible habit of insulting her elders, she relpied icily, thrusting an image of Eturynth and Brynath. Oh....Alex and her's, he replied, and she felt his newly found ambition to get out of bed. Don't bother, MineLove, she murmured, and added She's leaving now. Go to sleep. Too late; he already was it seemed. Brynath, I'll watch her, she volunteered, though she was fully ready to stop the grown Chimera if her attempted to go after the Green. You need to watch your other eggs; this should be a proud day for you, not a bloody one. Candidate Brittany Copeland Brittany watched with slightly envious, extremely excited eyes. She had always liked the stories about dragons, and now she had the chance to actually have one, one that would be her friend forever! Just so she didn't have to be around that particular Green. The Green had taken a Hatchling's first few sentences and turned what she had said into some extremely pure hatred and jealousy. But it semmed (she hoped) that things were calming down a little now that she had stopped her advance on Cioeth. No, nevermind, mentally verbally attacking. Hm. And now she's....going to sit down with whoever must be her Rider. Well, crap. This is going to be fun. Sennia and Brown Seeth Seeth chuckled his death rattle laugh even more as he heard the Weyrling's barrage of insults directed at Brynath. Yes, she was definately his and Crucith's daughter. He had caught sight of the sadistic Green and her Rider, the equally sadistic Z'volm, as well as heard them when they had spotted the youngling. He found that he was incredibly amused at the moment, and that listenning to the epic speech on the uselessness of Chimeras lifted his heart out of the black fog a little. Just a little. Not much. He sat up on his back haunches, eying Marith and Brynath as Eturynth strutted back to her seat on the teirs. He did not wish for his amusement to end because they couldn't take a little hot-headedness from a Weyrling. H'vas and Green Cherath H'vas watched the first few steps of Eturynth before jumping down from his teir, leaving a humming Green behind him. He would help as he could how he could when he could. Not only were they Brynath's children, by he had wagers set on some of them. He had earned nearly $150 so far in the fact that it had been Isath's clutch that hatched firt and there were at least four Chimeras in it. He went to where Hy'ka was and grin as he pecked the young man's hair from behind. "Anything a very jealous Greenrider can do?" he asked. Weyrling Lyrah and Kyrinth Lyrah leaned comfortably against Kyrinth's warmm, vibrating sides, watching as the firelizards flew above the hatchlings that had begun acculimating on the Sands with their chosen Impressors. She loved the feeling Hatchings gave her; they made her feel nice knowing that new dragons had arrived in the world and would find their counterpart. She had actually begun to doze when she first heard the growls cutting through Kyrinth's humming. She sat up and looked around to get her bearing, blinking several times to clear her eyes. What she saw somewhat shocked her. Brynath and Eturyntyh were quite literally have a mental fight over whether or not the Green could hurt one of his children. She didn't like this, especially since she saw Snowfire swirling closer and closer to Brynath in his loops, though, thankfully, Kaena stayed away an stuck to high above them.

[ooc: Long post is long! Sorry about that. If anything, scroll to the bottom and read the last section.] Through all of the drama going on barely a dragonlength away from the clutch, another one of Isath’s eggs found it to be the perfect time to hatch. This one was like the rest, taking its own time to hatch, at least the dragonet was going at it at a slow pace. There were gentle scratches on the shell, and a number of holes and cracks, but nothing extreme as of yet. On the surface of the creamy prison, a network of cracks made their way around. One in particular was large, spanning halfway around the vertical center of the egg. Delicately, a small claw poked out of the crack, widening it and stretching the egg in an odd way. It wasn’t long for the dragonet to pull himself out of that hole. There was dark blue foreleg that stretched out, clawing at the edge, before withdrawing. The blue dragonet worked at the edge, in his own way, just picking at the jagged edge of the egg. When satisfied, he climbed out, being extremely careful on not scratching himself in the process. The egg rolled over with the weight of the dragonet, and started to break underneath his talons. That was a tight squeeze... he commented to the candidates gathered, looking back at the egg that he hatched from. The blue looked up and away, glancing around the stands. There was a distinct arrow shape on his forehead, of a much lighter and brighter blue, but that was the only thing interesting about him. To the spectators, he was a normal-colored blue. Some found relief from the onslaught of chimeras, while others were sad to be kept from seeing more of the spectacular new colors. The blue felt the odd tension on the sands, and he turned around. He noticed that his father, was barring the way from a green weyrling. While he didn’t know what was going on, the blue hatchling didn’t like the feeling that he was picking up. What is going on? I don’t think I like this. He stepped forward, daringly moving to the side of the taller dragon that was his father. Why are you doing such a thing...? I feel like that should not be happening at this time, the blue challenged the green weyrling, his eyes trailing after her even as she left the sands. I do not like your words either. They are harmful, and it is not fitting for a dragon. Finishing those last words, the blue turned, picking his way to the candidates that were lined up. He sought out one in particular, without wasting time looking at the other candidates. Akira, your Fogleth does not like what is going on now. Why would a green do that? I hope nothing bad happens, but I would be willing to stand up for my clutchmates if needed.Blue Fogleth Careful, Brave, Honest Adult Size 32ft Impresses Akira (froggie92) #070C6F Evander had turned away from Adair and his new dragonet, but there was a sound that made him turn back. Adair was wishing him good luck! “Thank ye!” the Scot called back over his shoulder. There wasn’t much time to converse with other candidates as things started to pick up. When the candidate turned back to the hatching, there was another chimera that hatched, and this one was a beautiful example of a great color mix. She was a green primarily, and there was a light blue shine to her hide. He couldn’t help but wish that she would come to him... But she didn’t. The green instead headed for a candidate that was towards Raynith’s clutch, and it was at that moment that Evander realized that all the eggs hatching were from Isath’s clutch so far. The Scot glanced towards the other clutch. There were rocking eggs, yes, but none were close to hatching... He frowned, wondering if it was normal for eggs to take this long. But Isath’s were hatching at what seemed to be a regular pace... It was that moment that his blue flitter decided he wanted to join the fun. Paradron winked in from between in front of his face, and Evander bit his lip in surprise. “Oh, Paradron. Ye scared me. Ah dinnae expect ye tae... Show... Whit es going on?!” he exclaimed, noticing how there was now a stand off on the sands, with Bryanth and a younger, bit of a paler green. The younger dragon was of weyrling rank, Evander assumed, but there was some tension between the two, at least until there was a rather unsettling voice in his head that clearly had to come from the disgruntled green. “Now why would anyone thenk that way...? Selfesh...” [ooc: To Eturynth/Eturynth] The normally calm Brynath was at his limits. He lowered his head, growling at the green weyrling as she copied his movements. Weyrling, you're treading deep waters... he said, repeating a phrase that Hy’ka had used in passing once. While Eturynth went on her speech about the chimera dragons, Brynath’s lip curled upwards in a snarl. He was usually so tolerant, at least to those who questioned what kind of odd defect he had, but this was going beyond the limits. The pale green dragon was crossing the line. She finished, and bit at the air, as if that was going to phase the much larger and older dragon. Angrily, Brynath proclaimed to the whole of the stands, A marvel of colors? Eturynth, you should watch your step. And respect your elders, no matter what color they are. Besides, I out-rank you, as a blue! I will not stand for your harsh words, as I am sure that others will not. Brynath cocked his head, following after the green weyrling as she retreated back into the stands, where her rider was waiting. You will watch your step, and your tongue. In fact, you can watch yourself step right out of here. Do not bother to go back to your seat. I no longer want you to be here. Marith’s gentle words entered Brynath’s mind, but he was too deep into his rage to climb out now. Glancing over at where the green dragon was watching, the blue said, Marith, you don't need to watch her. She needs to leave. He continued to step forward, ignoring what was going on with his clutch, since he was sure that Isath would be watching them, just in case. Get out. Get out, Eturynth. I don't want to see your hide on these grounds anymore. You will not treat me that way. You will not speak to me in that way, and you definitely will not speak about my children that way. You do not have my permission to be here, and I don't care what others will say. I WILL chase out of here myself if you do not leave. I will give you a 'welcome' that you deserve. If anything, Brynath’s eyes were a dangerous red, and he was tense all over, ready to jump forward, and chase out the green like he said he would. He noticed how Eturynth had glanced at Seeth and Crucith before leaving. Did she think she was trying to make her sire and dam proud? How... low. What an awful way to go about it. Crucith, Seeth, and Eturynth; they all had their problems. Get out.The blue’s raging emotions were surging through Hy’ka as the bluerider leaned on the railing. He gasped for breath a number of times, and tried to block out Brynath’s mental screaming with his mind. It hardly worked. The blue was so angry, and disgusted with the green, the rider could tell. Brynath...! he called, watching the exchange happening. The blue was ready to act, Hy’ka knew, and he felt the same tenseness that Brynath was feeling, even as H’vas appeared behind him. “H’vas...” Hy’ka whined, “I don’t know... Brynath... Well, you can hear that for yourself. And well...” The bluerider let his words trail off. H’vas could hear what both dragons were saying. He didn’t need to ask about what was running through Hy’ka’s mind. A sad look on his face, Hy’ka folded his arms on the railing, and fell forward, his forehead coming to a stop on his arms as he rested his upper torso on the railing. “I don’t... I don’t... H’vas...” Worthless... He wasn’t worthless. And Brynath wasn’t either. And they were wanted on Pern, weren’t they? The drama unfolding below made Z’volm chuckle. He sincerely was hoping for some bloodshed... But perhaps not during the hatching? Maybe afterwards, when there was no one to watch but himself and his dragon. That... Would be an interesting encounter, and something that Z’volm was now looking forward to. The greenrider growled as the dragons faced off, the larger blue against the smaller weyrling, a green from Crucith’s latest clutch. “Oh, she’s got guts, and she seems to take after her mother...” Aren’t you proud, Crucith? the rider asked, half-turning to glance at his green a couple paces behind him. Maybe, was all that she said. Eturynth had looked at her and Seeth--Crucith noticed that, but the green refused to acknowledge that. Her daughter might be able to gain the admiration of the brown, but Crucith was a different matter. She wanted to try and impress her dam, she would have to do better than that. Crucith looked away from Eturynth with a bored look in her eyes. She didn’t warrant so much attention as just a passing glance. She’ll have to do better than that. Her display was hardly interesting once the blue jumped in. Listening to his green, Z’volm grunted. Hm. I suppose you’re right. She backed down too early for something interesting to happen. Too bad for her. She didn’t hold your attention long enough. At least she’s trying to impress you, right? You should be flattered. There was a young blue had hatched during the little stand off, and he seemed to have a say in the matter, at least, for a bit, before he turned around and looked to find His. I’m not.Since arriving, Ku’rt and Luna both were counting the eggs that hatched. Bi-colored dragons so far were Impressing, and there was that one shy green that wanted to hide behind another egg. The poor hatchling made Ku’rt frown as he watched her, hoping to see if she would come out of hiding, and find Hers. That would be better than if she went between like Ku’rt had seen hatchlings do. “Are you keeping track, Aricoth? That’s four eggs hatched, all from Isath’s clutch, and three of the four were chimeras...” the rider said, patting the blue’s leg. I am paying attention, Ku’rt. Luna keeps sending me images of them. I like the green-blue one that hatched... he admitted, like so many others, that the green-blue combination was a beautiful one indeed. What is going on now? Luna tells me that there is a weyrling on the sands, and Brynath is trying to keep her back. What is going on? I don’t like what the dragons are saying to each other... Ku’rt...! the blue whined, dipping his head so that Ku’rt could scratch his eye ridges to sooth the dragon. “I... Don’t know. I don’t like where this is going...” he remarked, lifting his head to peer down into the sands. Brynath was a protective father, and he was showing his intolerance of the younger and more rebellious of the weyrlings. “One doesn’t normally see that side of Brynath...” the bluerider commented, noting that the blue-green dragon was usually so much more mellow than he was at this moment. Of course, it seemed a little needed, considering one dragon was approaching his children with an intent to harm them. * * * Rider D’cian and Bronze Nechuth Max and Reliath are here now, Nechuth stated calmly as his head panned from side to side. He was watching the hatching, and was getting amused with what was happening at the moment, while his rider was keeping tabs on the weyrleader and weyrwoman. Everyone is here now. Should we... Move? If anymore hatch, we will be in bad shape. We were supposed to be here earlier. This is very bad timing, D’cian. The bronze shifted, his eyes now focused on the larger of the two clutches. The blue-green sire had moved, and was now moving away. She’s creating a stir among the dragons and riders. Are you listening to the conversation like I am? the bronzerider asked, using his mind over his mouth, just in case. And the weyrwoman is catching on to us. She’s looking around and keeping an eye out. Max and Reliath will have alerted her and her dragon. We definitely can’t afford to stick around any longer. D’cian sat up, standing now, and took a step forward. We gotta go... Now. The green’s creating a big enough distraction, this is it. Now or never. Come on Nechuth. Tell the others that we’re moving now! The rider returned to his bronze’s side, nimbly scaling up his foreleg to sit on his back. He pat the bronze’s neck urgently, and waited for the dragon to relay orders to Zenyth and Reliath before he would start forward. The bronze rumbled. I am ready to go. Zenyth and Reliath. Mine says we are moving in now. When I go, you go. Grab what you can, but make it quick. We must be fast to get out of here. The green weyrling had made enough of a distraction for our purposes, thankfully. When that information was sent to the dragons of the two accompanying riders, the bronze bobbed his head. We are ready and waiting, D’cian. Are you? And which one am I going for?Waiting for the bronze to send the information to the other two dragons, D’cian gave them both a couple of seconds to prepare themselves, though they really should have been ready the second they came out of between. He gave Nechuth’s neck another pat. The larger clutch. Go for the larger clutch. And... Now! Go Nechuth! Quickly, quickly! At D’cian’s commanded, bronze Nechuth exploded out of the darkness, just barely resisting the urge to roar. He wanted to get as far in without being noticed. The giant dragon wasn’t going to get far with his bulk, but he could at least intimidate the other dragons that were easily dwarfed by him. Zenyth, Reliath! Nechuth’s first order was to go for an egg. They were supposed to have arrived earlier, but the tactic was basically the same. He went straight for the chimera clutch, now that the blue-green was out of the way, and all that was left between him and the clutch was a small green. With a snarl, Nechuth half-spread his wings, and charged for the larger clutch, kicking up sand in giant plumes behind him. He lashed out at Isath, trying to scare her off, and whether or not he actually hit the dragon didn’t matter to him. His burning red eyes were set on the eggs of the clutch. On his back, D’cian was securely strapped in, and pressed flat against the bronze’s neck. He didn’t want to be a burden, but the bronze needed a rider in order to pull this off, so D’cian made him as insignificant as possible. Nechuth went for one of the larger eggs that was left, roughly gathering up the egg in one giant claw. Sand fell out from between his fingers as the bronze lifted the egg higher. Using three of his four legs now, Nechuth leapt forward, not yet satisfied, and scooped up another egg from the same clutch. Two eggs in hand, Nechuth roared, allowing himself to be as noisy as he wanted, and lifted his wings. He took off in a flurry, sand being thrown up by the force of his wings beating down, and his hind legs pushing off. Zenyth, Reliath! he called again, struggling to get airborne. Do not linger! Come back as soon as possible. The take off was rough, and Nechuth found himself falling, towards the stands, where a particular blind blue dragon was sitting. The bronze screeched, throwing out his talons in a threatening display, and nearly landing on top of the dragon. Without any concern for the pair that he very possibly killed, Nechuth used his momentum to take off again, eggs held tightly in hand, and rising higher into the sky. [ooc: O: What is this that's happening?]

As if the commotion was too much for the green dragonet, she bolted towards Hers who just had to be standing over on Raynith's side of the Hatching Sands. She'd even tripped once in her haste to reach Hers as she called out in a panicked voice. Blanche-Mine! Your Listhiath is frightened over what's happening. the green told Hers and clinging to Hers too much that the pair fell down on the sand. Listhiath in her fright didn't even realize that she was injuring Hers as she tried to climb into the arms of a surprised Blanche. As Listhiath tried to climb into Blanche's arms she continued with, And to make matters worse, my middle feels very empty. Make everything okay, Blanche-Mine. the green broadcasted to Hers and anyone who can hear her over the commotion that's happening in a rather whiny tone. Name: Listhiath Color: Green Color Code: Main (79ae7c) Marking (None) Basic Personality: Stubborn, Paranoid, Clingy Adult Size: 21ft Impressed to: Blanche Clare Wagner (Adoptable NPC) Greenrider S'ael & Green ZenythS'ael watched silently with Zenyth as the eggs began to hatch. Most of the eggs that hatched were from the other bigger clutch and not the one that was near their position. There have been four dragonets so far with three Impressions. And then, there came a commotion and S'ael and Zenyth was subject to mental broadcasts that probably came from the young green weyrling and from the two-colored sire of the bigger clutch. This would be a great time to do what we came to do now that everybody else's attention is on those other dragons S'ael silently commented to his dragon. Zenyth had watched the dragonets hatching and to be truthful wasn't thrilled with the two-colored dragons. She had been keeping her eye on a violently rocking egg from the smaller clutch. She had noticed the dam as a traditional green color much like herself and noticed the late arrival of the sire which was a sensible blue. When the commotion broke lose, she was in agreement with Hers that now would be a good time to do what they had come here to do. In response to Hers, she said, Then I suggest getting back up and strapping yourself securely.S'ael nodded at Zenyth's reply and got back up into his seat and strapped himself securely. He didn't know when exactly D'cian will give the order to move, but he was relatively sure, that it would be now or never. And seconds after strapping himself, he got word from Zenyth that Nechuth says D'cian said to act now. S'ael flattened himself against Zenyth's back and let her do the thinking now. He was confident that his dragon had already picked an egg that they could safely take back with them. Zenyth waited until Nechuth showed himself and made more distraction from their side of the Hatching Sands. She launched herself from their hiding place and quickly glided towards the small clutch and landed within the clutch not even minding if she stepped on or knocked over the other eggs. In a thrice, she had in her clutch the rocking egg, sand scattering from the beat of her wings as she once more launched herself and Hers away. And, before anyone knew what happened and could react accordingly, the pair had already gone Between to safety. Only to show up in the sky high above the Bronze pair that were rising up high in the sky. Zenyth called down to Nechuth as she hovered above the pair, Tell Yours that me and Mine have successfully gathered an egg. Zenyth said as she showed her prized stolen still shaking egg that seemed to be on the verge of hatching.

Akira heard the voice of the hatchling ringout clearly in her mind. She looked at the little blue, responding to his questions. " I agree this should not be happening, but I am sure your father can protect your clutchmates Fogleth if anything happens."
She motioned for him to come closer to her, kneeling down to hand him several peices of meat one after another. He took the peices eating them slowly and methodicaly tearing the peices into slightly smaller bites before moving to the next bite. Fogleth shuddered feeling the tension mounting higher.Unconciously, he stepped so his side was against Akira's leg feeling safer with her near. I don't like this. I don't like this at all. Why is the air so tense?I will protect my clutchmates if anything happens.Fogleth gave a small nod to himself agreeing with his own statement.
Akira looked down fondly at the young dragon, but whispered he should calm down and let his parents and their riders protect the clutch. Fogleth grumbled deep in his throat, a little put out at the words of Akira. Do you doubt your Fogleth Akira? Why can't i protect my clutchmates like my father?
Akira sighed explaining she did not want her Fogleth getting hurt because he was a small hatchling still and that he was brave like his father, but he would have his own time to be brave just like protecting the clutch was his fathers time to be brave.
Sighing, the little blue watched closely muscles tensing, knowing something bigger was going on from the unease of the others present. Akira picked up on the feeling too, eyes scanning the edges of the crowd for anything out of place.
Suddenly, out of no where another incident occured. Fogleth growled low in his throat making to move forward to help his mother... only to see two eggs get carried off as his rider kneeled placing a hand on his back to let him know she was here. Fogleth looked at her, Your Fogleth is sad. My clutchmates... what is going to happen to my clutchmates?!"
Akira felt tears prickling at the corner of her eyes as she gazed around the gathering.

Max and Reliath Nechuth says we must be ready. Reliath had barely gotten the warning out to his rider when the bronze burst into the sands and grabbed two eggs. Zeynth was close behind Nechuth with another egg, but from the smaller clutch. Max quickly sent Reliath the image of two eggs that looked promising before the blue took off. Reliath tryed to grab both eggs, but one slipped from his grip as they were gaining altitude. It fell and landed on a cluster of eggs on the odd marked green's side. A green and brown colored dragonet appeared from the dropped egg. The dragonet cried piteously for it's life-partner. Another egg revealed a purplish blue with stripes, scratches adorning it's body from the sharp egg fragments. Then Max and Reliath disappeared between. Rider Nakia and Green/Gold Isath Nakia gasped as a bronze, green and blue came from no where and began stealing eggs. Isath roared in defiance, spreading her wings to follow after them. Before the mother could get a downstroke in the egg-theives were gone between. Isath gave another roar in anguish. She flapped her wings a few times in her misery, not knowing more of her children had hatched. My children! My children! Stolen from me!Nakia turned to her dragon, gently stroking her foreleg. She knew it wouldn't comfort the greiving mother, but it was all she could do. A movement of green caught Nakia's eyes. She looked over and noticed two more hatchlings. "Look, Isath. You still have more children. They are still hatching." --- The dragonet, a chimera mixture of green and brown, had hatched from the dropped egg. It looked about for a moment, broadcasting to all the Candidates. E'nd-mine? Where are you? Gyerjtackalanth-yours has this pain in its belly... Where are you E'nd-mine? Green/Brown Gyerjtackalanth "Amiable, Decisive, Deligent" Adult Size 30ft Impresses Evander (PhazonDragon) #1c8e00 - #835700

And in the stands, S'tor literally snarled, then leapt from his seat, but he knew...that he could not get to his dragon in time.
Riderless, Ryath let out a challenge, launching. Firestone...but no, there *was* no firestone at Rocky, and the brown could not BURN the one who had so dared, to steal eggs on the brink of hatching, steal them from the riders that should have been theirs.
Unlike his hidebound rider, he did not care what color those eggs might hatch, what might lie within them. He cared that eggs from his Weyr were being stolen, and he launched himself...to flail through empty air as the thieves went Between. Snarling again, growling deep in his throat, the brown did a circuit above the Hatching grounds. He did not speak, not even to his rider...he was too *angry* for that, anger that echoed in S'tor as thoroughly as mating lust.
"Grrrrrrr! I'll kill them!" S'tor declared, and quite possibly meant it...not just for that moment, but in all seriousness.
--
And then there was chaos. Strange dragons...grabbing the unhatched eggs? One of which they dropped, but it did not seem harmed, spilling an oddly marked dragon.
"Who the..." And Tiffanie knew. "It has to be the Chinese. They must have dragons too..." But not enough fertile females, so that they were stealing young dragons.
Confused, Cioeth moved closer to her rider's side. She automatically found that spot on the eyeridge that all dragons seemed to want to have rubbed...

The purplish blue with the darker blue stripes tried in vain as he tried to get up and out of the shards of eggs that he now lay within. He cried pitieously for His as he only got himself more injured in the process acquiring more scratches on his hide as he slipped on the slippery eggshells from the egg goo that still clung to him. Brittany-Mine! Where are you?! Your Useckoth is hurt. Your Useckoth needs help, Brittany-Mine. the blue broadcasted to everyone around him as he now stopped struggling to get himself out of the eggshells that he lay within and waited for His to help him. Name: Useckoth Color: Blue Color Code: Main (818be6) Marking Stripes(031cfc) Basic Personality: Affectionate, Formal, Impulsive Adult Size: 29 ft Impressed to: Brittany Copeland (Wolfayne) Wherhandler SamariSamari was rather surprised to see the two-colored dragons that kept hatching. She understood Keltin's problem when a wher got stubborn about wanting to do something. "Well, you can't win an argument when it comes to your wher. Be glad Keltisk only wants to watch the Hatching for now. In the future, he's going to want to do things that you will be clearly against. But as with dragonriders, you can't go against you wher especially if they turn their sad eyes at you." Samari said as she remembered the times that Samarsk dragged her into doing things that Samari would never had thought of doing but yet managed to do, all for the love of her beloved Gold Samarsk. After a pause, Samari replied, "I don't know about the mixes. I don't think anyone would dare to come here and tamper with the eggs. However, I think, that they seem to have inherited the defect from their dam and sire." as she looked at Green-Gold Isath and Blue-Green Brynath. In Samari's eyes the two-colored nature of the dragons were a defect since they have been sent here instead of staying back in Pern. Like Keltin, she wasn't slow to catch on the mounting tension especially when she also noticed the green weyrling jumping onto the sands. She wished nothing bad would happen during the hatching as she watched Keltin and Keltisk go into the Hatching Sands. Before they got too far into the Hatching Sands, she said, "Be careful not to get too close to the clutches." as she now wished that she had Gold Samarsk with her to help diffuse any problems that might arise. But not too long after the commotion, something horrible happened. From out of nowhere, three unknown riders started stealing eggs. Samari was rooted on the spot, her face a mask of horror at what she had witnessed. Her eyes trickling down tears as she silently cried for the stolen eggs. Weyrling Lesla & Green Houkath Lesla had smiled when she saw the Brown-Bronze dragonet Impress to Adair. She wondered what his honorifc would be now that he has Impressed. Despite Adair being older than her and she considered him her "big brother", in the Weyrling ranks, she outranked him by eleven months. She'd be a dragonrider long before Adair joined the dragonrider ranks of Rocky Weyr. But that thought of the future made her smile fade as she wondered if Adair would still be here when that time came when he graduats from Weyrlinghood in the future. She pretty much knew that she and Houkath would never be allowed back to Pern with Houkath's defect, but from what she could see, Adair's dragon didn't seem to have any defects unless his two-colored hide would be counted as one. But her silent musing was interrupted as some sort of commotion began and Lesla had no real clue what was going on until she heard a female voice in her head, that was not her Houkath. As Lesla listened, her ears got red in embarrasment and anger at what she heard. But before she could really do anything about it, disaster chose to strike at that time as a few unknown riders suddenly showed up and stole eggs. And before she or probably anyone could really react, the strangers were gone Between. And in their wake, they left anger, chaos, and injured dragonets piteously crying out for Theirs. Houkath didn't really have a grasp of what's happening since everything was being passed to her by Seichou after the fact so even if she had been high enough in the tier to maybe have done something, she was just too late to do so. But like the other dragons, she was angry that eggs were stolen from the hatching. And she may not hear the dragonets' cries, but she could see that they have been injured by the chaos that the egg stealers have left behind. She wondered if any other eggs will still hatch or if that was it. To Hers, she apologetically said, I am sorry to not have been able to stop them, Mine.Hearing Houkath's apology, Lesla composed herself and replied silently, No Love. You don't have to apologize. Nobody could have known that anybody would dare to steal eggs while the Hatching is going on. And Lesla sent her love and reassurance to Houkath so that her beloved green would not feel bad about what happened. Deep down, Lesla was crying but she had to keep it together for the sake of her green dragon. Wherling Guin & Bronze GuinskGuin and Guinsk didn't really know what the problem was and Guin was sort of shocked to hear the pale green weyrling broadcasting her dislike with regards to the healthy two-colored dragons. To Guin, there wasn't anything wrong so he, which also meant Guinsk, they both didn't understand where the dislike and hate was coming from. With them being near Green-Gold Isath's clutch, Guin was just silently praying that there wouldn't be a fight between dragons since he and Guinsk wouldn't be able to break up the fight. However, that silent contemplation went right out the window when suddenly, a few of the eggs were getting stolen by complete strangers. Guin and Guinsk would have done something but, they couldn't fly so the rescuing would have been relegated to the dragons and yet, the dragons and dragonriders were too slow to react. With the chaos left by the stealing of the eggs, Guin wondered what would happen now. Guinsk on the other hand, was angry at himself that he wasn't able to do anything to help and Guin had a time trying to calm the five month old wher. Weyrling A'ir and Brown-Bronze RakymathThe pair had just gotten away from the clutch and towards the spot where the buckets of chopped meat was lined up. A'ir had just started feeding a hungry Rakymath when the commotion broke loose between what A'ir thinks was an irate older pale green weyrling towards the two-colored dragonets. The sire did a great job of defending the clutch but Rakymath took what the pale green weyrling had said rather hard. Rakymath physically drooped after he heard the speech and pointedly ask His, Am I really just a useless dragon like what she said? as he stopped eating and tried to look His up in the eye. A'ir shook his head and kneeling down to be at eye level with Rakymath, he said with confidence, "No Rakymath. You are not a useless dragon at all. In fact, you are the best thing that has ever happened in my life." as he gave his beloved brown-bronze a scratch on his eye ridge to try and get him to relax. After a while, he said, "Now why don't we forget about what that dragon said and get yourself fed. You can't have gotten full with the few meat that you have eaten." as A'ir waved a piece of chopped meat in front of a still hungry Rakymath. And just like that, Rakymath forgot about the recent past and concentrated on eating. Unfortunately, all was not smooth sailing for it was then that chaos broke loose. Rakymath didn't really know what happened. All he understood was that his clutchmates have been stolen. To His, he cried out in anger and despair, My clutchmates! They stole my clutchmates! What are we going to do, Mine?! as Rakymath looked to his with eyes swirling with a tinge of red for anger and the yellow of worry for his clutchmates. A'ir himself was at a loss for what to do. But the one thing he knew that he could not lose his temper as well and calmed down both himself and Rakymath as well. With the almost instinctive habit of scratching Rakymath's eye ridge to get the dragonet to relax, he said with sadness in his voice, "I don't know, Rakymath. I don't know what we could have done to stop your clutchmates from being stolen." A'ir just looked sadly back at the Hatching Sands were disaster reigned for a short time as he kept scratching Rakymath's eye ridge to calm the dragonet down. He didn't think that he could divert the dragonet's attention back to food since he himself could feel the anger and the tension that was now in the atmosphere left behind after the theft of the eggs. Brownrider Y'ume & Brown FirenthY'ume had held off Firenth when the Brown had been ready to go down and help diffuse the situation with the pale green weyrling. However, now the Brownrider was kicking himself for not letting Firenth go down because for some reason, Y'ume thought that if he had let Firenth go down to help, then those strange unknown riders would not have had the opportunity to steal the eggs while Brynath had been occupied with something else. Firenth didn't even dwell on the what ifs and just stayed calm and collect but ready to act should the Weyrleader demand any punitive action against the rogue dragons. To His, he just said, It's past, Mine. You couldn't have known that would happen. Now let's focus on finding out where the eggs have been taken and by whom.Y'ume had to take stock of himself and realized he had almost lost it. He was still mad at himself for what he had let happen. But what his dragon told him was the truth. And so, after getting himself together, he kept an ear open for what the Weyrleader would decide that they needed to do.

Sahsa and Sashask
There was a moment of confusion as Sasha watched the three riders snatch eggs and just as quickly teleport out of the Weyr. He was stunned for a moment, trying to place them, when he realized he had no idea who they were.
And that the eggs had just been stolen. Biting back a bitter curse at the brash riders who'd try something like that, he glanced over at his wher. The white, ever the odd little (little being used in a figurative sense in this case) drew in the energy from around it, hissing softly. She didn't understand the anger and sadness and pain, and she channeled everything she picked up through her bondmate with a querying growl. EGGS. Take EGGS?! They TAKE. Eggs not THEIRS. STEAL. Mine, STEAL. STEAL EGGS!!! Shasask's eyes swirled a pale pink, as close as 'her' eyes ever got to pure red. She may have been a white-neuter, but the crazy creature was large enough to take on a gold, and she quite insisted on being treated as one despite her technical status as, well, a male.
Unfortunately, with this also came an obsession with eggs and hatchlings, and even though she was dim when it came to most things, she knew this was WRONG. Sasha just flinched a little and crept over to her. The dragons were the only ones with half a chance of catching up to the thieves, so he just threw an arm around her thick neck and hushed her. Hopefully something could be done...
Tag and Halderoth
Halderoth watched with some detached curiosity when the dragons burst onto the sands and fled almost as quickly, eggs in their claws. It took a second for it to click to the chimera that the dragons weren't members of Rocky, and then Halderoth was on it's feet, a low, nearly inaudible rumble coursing through it's chest. Deep blue claws dug into the sands and Halderoth bent it's head to be on eye level with it's partner. K'neth! They-They- they-! The blue and green dragon couldn't even finish the thought, it was so alien to it.
Tag stared, slightly stunned and taken aback. What-had that just- what? He numbly reached out, stroking his dragon's neck. "I know, Hal. I...what the hell just happened?"
Liam and Skirth A dark shape slid from the shadows, a proverbial silent shadowwalker appearing as if out of thin air. "My thoughts exactly." Liam's voice was quiet and soft, but clear as a bell as he slid into a position next to Tag. Beside Halderoth, a much larger shape materialized, Liam's midnight-black dragon arriving with as much quiet grace as his bondmate. Halderoth jerked slightly- the chimera hadn't heard either of them approach. Skirth's muzzle was formed into a fierce snarl, his eyes a deep crimson that clearly announced his fury. Skirth matched Halderoth's enraged snarl with one of his own, though the black's could only be felt in the reverberations of his chest- he made no real sound- he couldn't.
"We saw them just as they started to move. Skirth jumped up, but..." They were fast. I wanted to go after them, but Mine would not let me. He said it would be dangerous to try to attack a bronze. Skirth sounded disbelieving. I am very nearly as large as one of the younger bronzes! And that-that- beast doesn't even deserve the title of bronze. He isn't a dragon. The huge black dragon- a brown, it truth, but none but those in the know could possibly have told otherwise- scraped his talons in an angry mark on the floor, as if her were trying to vent his frustrations. No DRAGON would do something like this. It is WRONG to steal eggs. It goes against everything I know!
Liam sighed, though the look in his eyes was still one of nearly murderous displeasure, and he reached out a hand to calm his dragon. it was then that the bright red of blood could be seen on the back of his hand, from a myriad of scraps on his knuckles from where he had obviously attacked the wall numerous times. Skirth just mutely lowered his head and darted his tongue out to lick away the blood. Liam just flinched slightly. Why, Liam? You hurt yourself... Why? Because...because, if I hadn't, I would have done something stupid. Liam thought, knowing full well his dragon would pick up on it.
Skirth glanced up at the sky-entrance to the sands, and Liam felt him snarl soundlessly again. I wouldn't have minded.
Candidate Ember
Ember watched with deep confusion. She...well, she didn't really know WHAT was going on. Dragons were everywhere. A littler green one had charged the sands and said something about the hatchlings- (Halderoth was being kind enough to convey what was going on- she was really quite fond of the funny neuter dragon), and the green-and-gold dragon who had mothered one of the clutches had snapped at her. Ember had been kind of afraid for a second that there would actually be a full-on fight, but things had seemed to calm down after a bit.
And then the other dragons had charged onto the sands, snatching eggs and causing quite the commotion. Ember threw up her arms to keep the sand being thrown around by their wings from her face, and, through her hands, she could just barely make out the shapes of the dragons and the eggs in their claws.
Was that normal...? A series of outbursts and terrified and enraged cries made her think the answer to that was no. She glanced over at the baby dragons, trying to figure out if they were afraid as well, but they all seemed preoccupied with searching out their prefect riders. A dark blue found a young boy, and a spotty green-and-brown went to the young man with the thick accent... she actually heard that dragon's voice, and was startled by the difference in tone he had in comparison to her brother's.
She held her breath as she saw the striped blue fall from the ruins of it's eggshell, and for one heart-stopping moment she harbored the thought of the little creature locking eyes with her, choosing her... but then the terrified creature turned to another girl, and just from the look on the other girl's face Ember knew the blue had picked her. Ember just let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding and turned back to the remaining eggs. What else was she able to do?

Rider D’cian of Bronze Nechuth As Nechuth climbed higher into the sky, with no dragons to challenge him, he spotted Zenyth above. He gave the green dragon a chuckling growl. Zenyth says they have one egg, the bronze relayed to his rider, pumping his wings harder. He leveled out when he felt that he was high enough, twisting into a wide circle above the hatching sands. The blue he trampled earlier was still alive... By the looks of it. And we are to leave now, are we not? D’cian patted the dragon’s neck, and shifted in his seat. The bronze felt this, and putting on a display of arrogance, Nechuth bugled loudly, the sound obnoxious enough to make the ears of the spectators ring. Zenyth, Reliath, we leave now. Lifting his claws, Nechuth showcased the stolen eggs to the worried watchers. The blue that accompanied the rogue pairs was now gone between, and Nechuth was ready to follow suit. Their display startled the spectators to the hatching, surely, and none seemed to be brave enough to attack the monstrous brute of a beast that was the bronze. His draconic laugh, as well as the iconic grin of D’cian, was the last thing from the rider pair before they winked between. [ooc: To everyone...?] The next few minutes happened in a blur. Ku’rt was rubbing Aricoth’s leg, and assuring the blue that everything would be fine, especially since Brynath was handling the situation in a level-headed way, instead of lashing out. Thing is, moments after Brynath’s dismissal of the green weyrling, there was a disturbance on the sands. A great bronze dragon burst forth from the shadows, aiming for Isath’s clutch. Ku’rt half stood up. What in the world was going on? First a distraction by the young green dragon, and now there were odd dragons trying to steal from the clutches? Ku’rt’s brow furrowed, but he gasped as soon as he saw what was happening. His eyes went wide, and the bluerider pressed himself against Aricoth. “Move!” he tried to yell, though the bronze was quicker. The opposing dragon was losing balance and altitude, and he came crashing down on Aricoth and Ku’rt. The rider felt a sharp pain in his side, along with a throbbing headache, and various other cuts and scratches. The rider could hardly tell what was an injury to his own body, and what was the pain that came across the link he and Aricoth shared. He was thrown back, shoved aside by Aricoth in the blue’s panic, and his body thumped dully against the stands. KU’RT! Aricoth screamed, his mental voice reaching all who would listen. Ku’rt! Ku’rt! Where are you? What is going on? Why? What happened? I can’t find you! I can’t see! Luna! the blue continued to screech. The bronze’s landing on the blue had startled him immensely. He didn’t know what was going on, and when there was an unfamiliar weight grinding him into the ground, the blue lashed out. He stuck out his limbs, trying to claw at the enemy on his back. Aricoth was smashed against the ground by the sheer weight of the bronze, but that didn’t stop the blue from screaming into the heads of everyone at the hatching. KU’RT! WHERE ARE YOU? Where is my Ku’rt? The blue’s battered body lifted itself into a standing position, and the blind dragon was a pale blue fury. He frantically hobbled over the stands, blindly and in a rage, to find his rider. The encounter with the bronze shook him up badly, not to mention physically injured him. Wings were bent at odd angles, and his legs were unnaturally holding his body up. With his thrashing, the blue was splattering ichor everywhere. Gashes along his sides and body were grotesquely ripped through. He was staining the sands with his ichor, and darting everywhere in a blind fit. No doubt, as he turned around, his tail whipped at dragons close enough to him, and he must have knocked over a number of humans. Where is Mine? Mine? I can’t find you? It hurts, mine... My sides hurt. My head hurts, and you aren’t here. Where are you? KU’RT. WHERE IS KU’RT?There was a flurry of sand that was kicked up by the giant bronze that darted across the sands, heading for the clutches. Evander’s eyes went wide. He wanted to jump forward, and save the eggs from whatever fate the dragon tried to give them, but he knew that would be suicide. Instead, the Scot stepped back--or rather, was knocked backwards by the powerful blast of wind that accompanied the bronze’s swift motions. There was also a blue and a green dragon that joined the frey, each picking up their own eggs from one of the two clutches. The blue became greedy, like the bronze, and nabbed two, but dropped one. He bit his lip in anticipation. Would some dragon catch that falling egg...? He desperately hoped the dragonet inside wasn’t injured... The egg landed on the sands, crashing into another egg from Isath’s clutch. To his surprise, there was a green and brown colored hatchling that emerged from the remains of the egg. It cried out, in either pain or fear, Evander couldn’t tell. All he knew was that there was this odd voice in his head, like when he met Surth. The voice that he was sure he would never get used to, and yet this one felt familiar. E'nd-mine? Where are you? Gyerjtackalanth-yours has this pain in its belly... Where are you E'nd-mine? The dragonet keened, looking around the sands. E’nd...? Evander wondered. Suspicious, very similar to his own name. And the Scot wasn’t too sure if he wanted to have such an honorific. He rather liked his name as is. But no, wait... That meant... That dragon was his? The green and brown hatchling that decided it was smarter to stay put where it was? “Ah...” he started, taking a few paces forward. “Ah... Gyerjtackalanth... Ah’m coming...” The Scot was wary of the surroundings, wondering if more dragons would try to steal eggs. There was general chaos all over the hatching grounds, in particular, the broken and bleeding blue in the stands, desperately looking for his rider. The chimera stopped crying out, pausing as she heard the voice of her bonded. E'nd! Is that you? Where are you? I would love to find you... She twisted around, her rainbow eyes searching for Hers. Pulling herself up, she trudged through the sands, though a bit wary of what was going on. There was a blue dragon screeching, clawing, and desperately searching for His. It frightened the hatchling. You aren't going to leave me, are you, E'nd? I feel very sorry for that blue. Maybe I can help him? Can we go and help him? she had to ask, forgetting about the fact that she was hungry. Evander, all of a sudden very timid, haltingly started out further away from the candidates. The confused noises that littered the air were sure to haunt his dreams for the next couple of weeks. The sounds of dragons angrily calling after the egg thieves were distinct, but nothing compared to the anguished voice of the blue that continued to burn in his mind. “Aye... Et’s very sad...” he said to the chimera, approaching the small figure. “Ah’m not going tae leave ye... And ah wesh we could dae sometheng aboot that poor blue... But...” He winced. “But, ah need tae fed ye.. And... And... And... Gyerjtackalanth... Ah can’t watch...” Evander’s head drooped. He closed his eyes, and fell to his knees on the sands. He wrapped his arms around his dragonet, burying his face into the warm and wet hide. He didn’t want to see this anymore. [ooc: Samari.] The gold wherhandler's words made Keltin stop. "I won't get too close. Of course not..." he murmured. He wasn't an idiot. Dragons weren't exactly well-known for how much they loved their bulky cousins. Keltin glanced back towards Samari, only to regret it moments later. There was a disturbance caused by three strange dragons that seemed to come out of nowhere. Yet, they all had to have been watching the hatching to time it so perfectly. "Keltisk!" the handler called, running forward. Responding to the handler's call, the brown wher leapt into action, trying to chase down the dragons that were stealing eggs from the clutches. He roared, wanting to help, but was held back by the fact that the parent dragons were still nearby, and ready to protect their clutches. Keltin was a full dragonlength behind the wher, and had skidded to a stop. "Keltisk, stop! Don't get any closer! You can't help now!" he ordered the brown. Keltisk help! he protested, but listened to Keltin's words, and slowed to a trot, angling to circle around the clutches, instead of running through them. Help? The wher pranced to the sidelines again, about a quarter of the way around the hatching sands. He looked towards Keltin with wide eyes of worried yellow and alarmed orange. Circling around to where Keltisk waited, Keltin frowned, shaking his head. He glanced to the sky, noting that the bronze was flying up there, after charging into the blue dragon in the stands, and before his eyes, the egg theft disappeared between. "There's nothing we can do. We should leave it up to the dragons..." he sadly said. * * * Through all of the commotion, there was an egg from Raynith’s clutch, one that was not stolen, that was trying to hatch. This one had started to hatch earlier, as there was very small cracks on the surface, but nothing enough to alert everyone to the hatching of the dragon. As it so happened, in the scuffle with the egg-stealing riders, the egg was jostled, pushed aside, rolling into one of its siblings. Where the two eggs met, there was an indent, cracked in both cases. It was from this pushed in side that another hatchling tried to enter the world. It was quiet, hardly heard over the ruckus going on in the stands and also below, but there was a dragonet tapping, trying to get out. The egg seemed to pulsate gently as the young dragon inside pushed at the edges. The egg finally started to give way, splitting neatly down the middle along the indent made before. As the egg fell away, there was a distinct green hide that was showing. The dragonet was upside down, laying on her back, but was quick to notice this. How... Embarrassing! She rolled over, flaring her wings, and eyeing the candidates. She hardly paid attention to the fact that there was something disastrous going on. Prinella...? Where are you? Here, I’m coming to get you! the green hatchling declared to her bonded. Holding her head high, she bounded forward, an odd sight in the otherwise disaster-fallen hatching grounds. Green Jimith Frivolous, Self-absorbed, Ornery Adult Size 24ft Impresses Prinella (Adoptable NPC) #89de00 Jimith cannot time it.

Akira saw the commotion and watched in shock as the bronze attacked. She looked at Fogleth and saw the anger making him tense up, his voice was a mess of too fast words for Akira to uderstand him. She heard the cries of the blind blue and looked at Fogleth then back to the blue..... she crept closer to the hurt dragon saying in a soothing voice, "I am looking for your Ku'rt. Try to calm down... your wounds will only get worse if you thrash."
Fogleth spoke up after his rider staying close to her side worried this was a mistake but determined to protect Akira if needed. HeWhoHasNoSight yours is close by, have no fear. Yours will be to you soon. Mine is looking....Yours will be found.
Fogleth stepped between the injured dragon and his rider watching him closely as Akira quickly scanned he sands for the one who had been sent flying by the blind blue.

Faizah jumped to her feet, running for where Ku'rt was injured. At the same time Gorth and Surth gained the skies and went between, trying to follow the egg thieves. Chaos reined in the hatching grounds, not only from the dragons but from the flits and the whers. Faizah's gold Reyna and Kain's blue Hobbs were screeching at the tops of their lungs, flying around with their eyes whirling reds and oranges and even grey as their hides reflected the intense worry. Faizah could hear some of the whers bugling their anger outside the hatching sands.
Faizah reached Ku'rt at the same time Akira and her blue reached the blind Aricoth. Kain pushed Akira aside to help Aricoth, for he was bleeding badly. "Someone get the medics!" Kain yelled at those in the stands.
"Kain!" Faizah yelled. She had found a pulse in the weyrling's neck, but he seemed to be out cold. She was afraid he might have a concussion from the force in which his head had hit the seats and steps. Sure enough there was blood streaming from a cut on the back of his head. "Someone hold his head and neck still." Faizah instructed as someone came up beside her to help.
When they had Ku'rt's head secure Faizah stood and began exiting the sands for the medics when Surth and Gorth appeared over the sands. We tried. They went between before we could get the coordinates from them. Surth broadcast to the entire weyr.
((Hope that was okay Phaz...?))

Nocia watched S'tor's reaction to the announcement that Sasath was female carefully. Would he be all too like H'dal and convinced that Sasath shouldn't be alive, much less mating and clutching? She was almost afraid to find out. The first dragonet hatched from Isath's clutch was a brown with an odd blue sheen, rather like his father's green sheen. Sasath very much approved of the new dragonet, even if he was slightly odd in color. She was rather odd too.
More dragonets hatched from Isath's clutch, but Raynith's clutch still did not move. Two of the dragonets from Isath's clutch were chimeras like their parents. A normal green hatched but hid rather than going to find her rider. Was she the only typically colored dragonet in Isath's clutch? The answer to that question came with a dark blue's hatching. Sasath rumbled in warning to the pale green weyrling dragon who had insulted Rocky and its dragons. That green didn't know what she was talking about. Some of them had transferred for other reasons rather than being unable to fly Thread.
Suddenly an adult bronze and green appeared from seemingly nowhere and grabbed some of the eggs. Sasath shrieked a furious challenge, her eyes whipping from green to red and flared her wings. The green who had hatched earlier fled the now dubious safety of the clutch to find her rider. The bronze had two of Isath's eggs while the green held one of Raynith's. As if to spite the happiness of a hatching, a strange blue also tried to grab two of Isath's eggs. He only managed to hold onto one, however. The other fell from his grasp and cracked to reveal another chimera, this one green and brown.
One of the untouched eggs in Isath's clutch produced a blue with stripes. Both dragonets Impressed, but Nocia hardly noted it, focused as she was on Sasath's fury. The female blue wasted no time in leaping for the sky and after the egg raiders. As Ryath was, she was too late to stop them from going between. Finally, one of Raynith's eggs hatched and a green came out of her egg upside down. Undeterred by all the chaos, she bounded over to Impress. Nocia could still feel Sasath's distress as she circled above the sands, creeling softly.

Akira looked at Kain and then to Faizah a question forming in her eyes, "What is the fastest way to get to the medics?"
Fogleth watched closely, wondering if the blind dragons rider was okay. Yours is found... Yours is found. Calm yourself.

Faizah shook her head. "Send a flit." she said to whoever had asked the question.
---
Down on the sands one last egg decided to hatch. It had been cracked by the dropped egg; hundreds of cracks adorning one side of it. Little had anyone known, but this was exactly what was needed to help the young dragonet hatch. It rocked gently at first, but once a white paw with blue stripes appeared from the egg, hatching was easy. It used that one foot to widen the hole of it's egg until it was large enough for the dragonet to exit.
A small dragonet appeared, somewhat shyly. It was white, with odd stripes of blue. Another Chimera. It stepped forward a few times, looking around at everything that was going on. It bowed its head, confused and scared.
Where is mine? What is going on? Mine is not here, is he?

Weyrling A'ir In all the chaos left behind, A'ir was probably one of the few folks that noticed the white dragonet hatch. In a whisper to his dragon and just hopefully to take his dragon's mind off of the stolen eggs, he said, "Raky look. One of you siblings hatched and he doesn't seem to know what's going on." After a pause, A'ir added, "Want to see if your sibling is okay?" he hoped the prospect of helping one of his siblings would get Rakymath focused on something else than what just happened earlier.
Rakymath calmed a bit as he looked to the Hatching Sands and sure enough, he saw one of his siblings had hatched. However, he didn't know why the other seemed scared as he heard his sibling asking around regarding his sibling's Chosen and to what was going on. With determination, he said to His, Yes, Mine. I think we should head over there and ask if anything is wrong. And Rakymath led the way back to the Hatching Sands to where his white sibling stood with his head bowed.
A'ir was glad that Rakymath seemed to have shifted his focus from the theft of the eggs to the white dragonet on the sands. He quickly followed after his dragon but made sure that he brought with him two of the buckets of meat that were lined up near the Stands. At least he can feed Rakymath when Rakymath finally felt his hunger once more. When he and Rakymath was near the white dragonet, he stayed away so that he didn't force an Impression should the white dragonet accidentally look at him.
Rakymath was glad when His didn't get too close to his white brother. When they were close enough, he bespoke his sibling and said, Greetings, White Brother. Is anything wrong? Do you need help? as he tried to make his white sibling to stand with his head straight and not bowed down like he currently was. Sensing his white brother's fear he added, Don't be scared. I'm Rakymath your brother. Then gesturing with his head to where His was standing behind him he added, And that over there is A'ir-Mine. Turning once more to face his white brother he said, What about you? What's your name? I haven't heard you say it yet. trying to make his white brother more at ease. However, he wondered who his brother's Rider was and asked, Where is Yours? as he looked about to look for his sibling's Chosen Rider.

Weyrling Brittany and Blue Useckoth What was going on!? Brittany thought, panicking as she saw the three rogue dragons that did not belong to Rocky swoop down and steal the eggs, carrying them up, away, and between, something she knew could kill the eggs. People, herself included, had screamed when they had appeared: she had screamed like she had during that storm* that had decided to place a nice long lightning strike right above her. Some of the eggs, at least one that she saw, had been dropped. She wasn't paying to much attention at the moment, for she was still horrified at the sight of two lingering dragons, but that quickly changed when she felt something open inside her and a scared, hurting vioce sounded. She spun around, forgetting everything that was happenning around her immediately. And there he was, a striped, beautiful blue that had a lilac tint to his hide. Trails of blood swept down his sides where he had scraped himself getting out of his shell when it had been dropped and had shattered. "Useckoth!" she cried out, half out-loud and half in their newly shared mind. "Useckoth, I'm here! I'm coming!"*the storm that recently went through the US ((I'll finish later, maybe tomorrow. Sorry guys!))

Akira cursed.. She did not have any flits yet. She shouted for somebody to send a flit to get help and then her attention momentarily left the hatching looking at the new hatching loving his marks. Fogleth humphed a small amount of jealously worming through the bond at Akira's admiration of the chimera's colors. She returned her attention to the scene before her praying somebody had sent a flit for help.
