Name: Themorn Th'orn
Age: 18
Gender: male
Sexual Orientation: bisexual
Appearance: Themorn is taller then most his age, though by no means a giant like the Mastersmith, Fandarel, and reaches a height of an even and exact six feet. His eyes are a very bright, light blue that has rings of silvery grey in them. His skin is olive, and only lightly tanned since he spends much of his time inside. He has broad shoulders and is slightly muscular due to him sometimes lifting people up to get them to Infirmaries or other.
Picture: Garret Hedlund
History: Themorn's parents were common fishermen, not part os a craft hall exactly. They died when he was just a little more than four years old of a type of severe fever that is sometime's caught in the jungles in the Southern continent. After this happened, he became much more serious than he really had any reason or right to at the age he was. He no longer dreamed of being an actual dragonman or Impressing a firelizard (not that that would be too hard nowadays).
He was brought in to be a Healer Apprentice when he was nine years old after he somehow had managed to stitch up anoher young man's arm when he had fallen and cut himself. After a sound scolding by his caretakers, he was asked to go into his current craft. There he progressed very quickly and steadily, completely focussed on and devoted to his tasks as and when they were given to him. He seemed adamant that he wouldn't let any other parents or children or other die because of this strange fever, however rare it was.
At the age of 16, he earned his Journeyman status, and was shipped off to Southern Weyr, where he would stay to assist the Healers there for the upcoming Hatching and afterward. He went happily, eager to view his home once more. His more serious and 'to-the-piont' demeanor was very welcome there. He worked hard to please the masters that were there, as well as all the other Healers that were situated above him in ranks.
He became a Candidate rather suddenly in the middle of the Hatching. He was standing with the rest of the healers at the very edge of the Sands, waiting for the time when they would be needed if it came. He was standing in the very middle of the line when a newly hatched bronze stepped up to him and told him, after a thorough examination, that "You smell strange, and you're all dirty. If you think you will be Mine, you are sorely mistaken" right before he went strutting off to examine all the other young men there (that he hadn't already gotten to) and finally settled to Impress a completely different young holder by the name of Herand, or H'ran.
The Weyrleader approached him later that night, when the final stages of the feast were being played out and spoke with him at great length, finally talking him into giving it a chance. 'It' was the oportunity to become a dragonrider. He consented with but one request and condition. He was to fulfill all obligations as a Healer before his obligations as a Candidate. When this was accepted, he rather piontedy turned, walked away....and went to bed.
He's been to two Hatchings since, both of them at Southern, and obviously no dragonet Impressed him. No spectacles were made such as the one that occured during his first Hatching at Southern. So, when F'lar asked for voluneer's to go to Rocky Weyr for the clutch(s) that had been lain, he promptly agreed after being given the blessing of his superiors. This was, they believed, a good chance for him.
When he was 17, he was given the chance to Impress one or more flitters, depending on how the hatching went. He did so, and managed to Impress one, a green by the name of Mint. He had Impressed one other, a brown that he had named Fever, but the young hatchling was incredibly small and weak. He died nearly two weeks after he hatched. The causes were natural, but that didn't stop the young Journeyman from working ever harder.
After that, he would come to this newly found Weyr for each hatching that occured, returning to Southern after each one. When he Impresses, he will stay because of the unsurety that is directed toward the first Storm dragon that exists, such as they were unsure about Ruth, the first white dragon. After careful study, the pair might go to Pern to stay, or they might not. Such things only time may tell. However, Themorn will be so interested in Earthian technology and medicine, he might just stay there to learn more.
