Cioeth was asleep. Tiffanie was taking the opportunity of a time when her dragon was not going to make demands to curl up in the common room in front of an old episode of Sex And The City. No doubt if anyone with a Y chromosome came in there would be a fight over the remote.
Heck, even a lot of the women around here seemed to be on the masculine side...there was that black bluerider who was more butch than some men Tiffanie had met. Some *straight* men Tiffanie had met.
She rather hoped Woruth didn't catch Cioeth...okay, experimenting was fun, but THAT one might go and fall for her or something.
She sighed, and forced her focus back on the television show. The drama she was not involved in took her mind off the fact that she suspected Weyr life of getting more and more like a particularly complex soap opera...with dragons.

((I tried to stop myself, butI can't help it! The drama between Cioeth and Eturynth is just too perfect to ignore!))
Alex watched with blazing eyes as the more junior Weyrling sat there and forgot to just look around. She had been sitting here, watching some idiotic show about some girls...what was the name...Oh yes, My Super Sweet 16. And the b**** changed it into the show was just as insultingly horrid as she and that freak Chimera of hers. She was in no way as beautifully perfect as any of them, not even Venus, who was a let down in the eyes of the two others.
Finally, her temper burst.
"So freak, how is the freak doing today? Not that I care or anything...." the golden haired girl said, smoothly insulting. She had a brief mental picture of the paint that was still showing in the Hatching Ground, expressing all the insults she and Eturynth had ever dreamed of about any and all Chimeras.

"Just," Tiffanie responded. "Because *your* dragon is boring."
She honestly had not really noticed Alex there. Had she, she might well have left the room. Really, the girl...and her dragon...were intolerable. There was no way that ordinary green was anywhere near as beautiful or special as her Cioeth. That was like saying...some farmer's daughter from the midwest could compete with a glam model. Well, unless that farmer's daughter was named Melissa.
Ahem. Well. She was going to watch HER show, dang it...except that Alex had already ruined it. Why couldn't she get lost Between?

Alex tsk-ed, shaking her head sadly with eyes like golden diamonds. "Poor dear, can't even reply something that makes any sense. I wonder if she understands that her...Chimera...is half male. Doubt it." She stretched languidly, looking all the while like a cat basking as she was stroked.
Eturynth had stopped growing and she was now a well formed dragon. She would Rise sooner or later, and Alex hoped it would be sooner. Eturynth did too, but it was more of the tally list saying she was better than Cioeth. It was amazing the spontanious hatred she had for the Chimera. But completely understandable.

It would prove nothing, given Eturynth was, after all, quite a few months older than the chimera. "If you think there's anything male about Cioeth, then you're blind."
For all that she was a blue-green chimera, Cioeth *radiated* female and feminine. Or perhaps she did it on purpose, as if sensing that people might judge her harshly otherwise. Of course, it did worry Tiffanie a little that Cioeth *might* end up chasing as well as rising, but she was sure that her dragon was as female as female could be.
"At least *my* dragon didn't distract people so badly somebody stole eggs." That was so not Cioeth's fault!
