I.C. Date: Week of December 11th, 2011 I.C. Time: 10:41 p.m. Xenith felt restless, more so than she ever had since she had been a newly hatched dragonet tempered by both hunger and need for her Rider. She felt heavier than ever before, heavier than she had felt after gorging and feeling on the brink of sleep. Her rational Samira-sounding consciousness didn't understand; but her instinct driven mind said that the time had come for her to return to the Hatching Bowl. Samira was asleep, curled in her blankets where she had finally dropped from exhaustion. Her mind slumbered fitfully as the events of the past months played over and over in her head. Reaching her head into the tiny opening to the outside, Xenith watched the tiny Queenrider sleep for a few moments before a twinge of discomfort ran through her length. Let her sleep. Straining into the ocean wind, the gold carried herself toward the warm sands, welcoming the heat as she dropped lightly. Swaying slightly, she shook herself, eyes glowing with determination and concentration. Jackaloth, come, hurry! I am to lay our clutch soon.

Jackaloth was swimming through the warm ocean currents, enjoying the strain of his muscles in activity other than flying. Tamahome was... somewhere. Jackaloth cared not, at that moment, where or what his rider was doing.
Jackaloth, come, hurry! I am to lay our clutch soon.
Jackaloth shot from the water and into the sky. He fought for his wings to work, to carry him to the Hatching Sands. Jackaloth refused to miss his clutch. He strained his wings to their fullest, finally rising away from the ocean and towards the sands.
I am coming, Xenith! Jackaloth called to her.
It took him a few moments, but he got to the sands before a single egg had been laid. He grinned slightly as he sidled up next to Xenith. He nuzzled her neck for a moment, lending her what comfort he could.
He looked around and noticed the lack of Samira, Xenith's rider. Where is your rider? Should she not see the clutching of our eggs? He asked.
((Moving this to Isle. Because that's where it should be...))

No...She sleeps. Xenith shook her head growling to herself as she widened her stance and crouched down. Waves of pain flooded her body as it worked toward the laying of her first clutch.
A dull thump was her reward.
The first egg was glistening, mottled browns and creams swirled across the surface.
((Little time, and less muse. Go figure.))

((Lol. It's all good.))
Jackaloth nodded as Xenith said Samira was sleeping. It was better not to wake a sleeping rider, Jackaloth knew. And as Xenith crouched down, Jackaloth stepped back a few paces. He did not want to impede the Queen he had won. She seemed to strain for a moment before a dull thump came to their ears.
Jackaloth practically purred as he caught sight of the first egg. Brown and cream colors, mottled together, seemed to swirl across the surface of the egg. A beautiful egg, Xenith.
((Sorry for short post...))

((Hey, do you see mine?))
The Queen hummed in pleasure and approval as she gazed protectively at the egg. Carefully she nosed sand around it, putting it in a warm, snug nest in which it could harden and hatch.
((I'm going to skip time so that she's finished by the Hatching!))
Several hours later, Xenith was snuggled again a paltry few eggs, a grand total of six. None were, unfortunately, Gold eggs, but there was one that was definately White. None of the others had anything to distinguish it from the next.
She hummed softly as she turned her bright eyes to her mate, who looked just as proud and happy as she was. Our children, she murmured warmly.

They are gorgeous. Jackaloth nodded, looking over the six eggs that Xenith had laid. The smallest egg, the speculated white one, caught his attention. Jackaloth worried over that egg...
He rubbed his muzzle along Xenith's jawline, purring as he did so.
((Again, sorry for short post...))

If she had been a fragile bird of flight, her feathers would have puffed up in delight. Xenith purred, her eyes whirling in contented blue hues. You worry of our little one. Don't.
She curled up more tightly around the tiny clutch, laying her head down so that she could view most of the Hatching Grounds easilly.
Samira had not slept well. She was uneasy, frowning and kicking at her blankets ever since the unannounced departure of the golden dragon. She finally slowly surfaced from the deep sleep and dreams. She something had changed, but not what.
Xenith? she muttered groggily, slitting one eye open to gaze sleepilly at the Gold's couch. She sat up, eyes wide, as she realized the dragon was not there. Xenith!

It is so small... Jackaloth said, looking again at the smallest egg. He shook his head though, trying to dispell the worry he felt. I shall try not to worry. May I call mine to come see our children? Jackaloth asked Xenith.
He did not want to anger the Queen dragon...
