"They are?" Tad grinned. "Help would be good," he adds, thoughtfully. "And we can't exactly get the dragons to babysit...at least not until they're old enough to carry a washcloth."
He'd seen how much the kids around were willing to 'help' bathe dragons. Sometimes only succeeding in bathing themselves and all the adults around them, but that was half of the fun of having children.
The crazy things they would get up to...and identicals could be the worst. He hoped they did, though. Boys not only would be boys, it was not good for them not to be.

Mentari laughed lightly. "Yes, they are quite obssessed with babies. Even Faizah, to an extent." Mentari explained. She lost her smile as she thought about her eldest sister and babies. Faizah hadn't gotten to spend a lot of time doting on babies. Their mother had kept her far too busy...
She shook herself, trying to keep from getting sad. This was a happy occasion! She should be smiling and laughing with Tad. They were going to be parents soon. She smiled again. She couldn't wait to be able to hold her own child. Well, children. She had to keep in mind that she was having twins.
Tad's comment about dragons caught her attention. "Get Kimath and Ladeth to babysit?" It was an interesting idea. She smiled a little more. Tad was right. Until the twins could hold washclothes, it probably wasn't going to be possible for the dragons to babysit. Not that it seemed like a good idea to begin with. Kimath wasn't very good with memory, and while Ladeth did remember a bit better than most greens, her memory wasn't all that good either...
Mentari turned her attention back to Tad. She leaned up and lightly kissed him again. "Try not to worry so much?" She asked.

"I'll try." He kissed her back, slipping his arms around her carefully. It was hard, with the swell of her belly between them...she was going to be a total whale in the third trimester if she was this big now.
But it would be worth it. His sons. His children, who would...lead a life very different from any he had once imagined. They would not be riding the fences or hunting in the mountains...but would likely be dragonriders, either here or on Pern.
He had not thought of that consequence when he came here, but now he found he liked it well enough. Dragons were worth all of it.

Mentari smiled, hugging him back. She had to agree with his thoughts. Hugs were going to be difficult if she continued to grow like this. But she didn't mind all that much.
Another thought came to her mind. Their children were going to be so very lucky. They were going to grow up in the middle of the mountains, surrounded by dragons and the like. They were going to have a very interesting lifestyle! She laughed at the thought.
"Our sons are going to be wild men, growing up in the mountains like this." She laughed.

Tad laughed. "Well, they'd have been not much better if I hadn't come here. These mountains have always been my home."
They'd just have been riding horses not dragons. And dragons *were* better...even Kimath could carry on something resembling a decent conversation. Most of the time. And it was impossible not to love the blue, even with his limitations.

Mentari smiled at Tad. "You're lucky. Before coming here I had only seen mountains from afar. I like living in them though." She said wistfully.
((I think we're done here...))
