Character Profile
Name: A'gar (Aligaren)
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual (And really fine with it)
Rank: Weyrling
Weyr: Rocky
Appearance: A'gar is tall and the kind of rugged handsome that girls notice and guys are jealous of. Not to say he's some model or something, but he's a good looking guy. Tall, broad shoulders, strong build that looks like he's spent years of his life working for a living, and a grin that has the power to make friends with everyone around him. He moves openly and with wide gestures, often sweeping his arms out. He stands tall, walks with confidence, and even when hurt or upset, won't flinch or cower. Hell, he swaggers a lot of the time. (L'iyr thinks he's a giant dumb idiot and tells him to stop strutting all the time.)
He's about six foot four, with shoulderlength hair in a shade of sandy blonde. He tends to leave it loose, but tying it back is not uncommon either. It depends on the day. His eyes are a bright blue, often sparking with amusement or eagerness- his expressions are easily written on his face. He doesn't hide anything from people, and his wide grin, furious scowl, or kicked-puppy sort of hurt make this plain. He's got a square jaw, usually slightly unshaven- he's too busy doing stuff to care about a little stubble!- a straight nose slightly crooked from being broken in a fight, and expressive eyebrows. He's got kind of big hands, rough with the turns of use.
His build is, quite frankly, muscular. No mistaking that. Most of his strength seems to be in his arms and shoulders, both powerful, and in his strong back. And yes, he's the kind to throw that strength around. He's got long legs, and is actually the type who just doesn't care about wandering around in any state of dress. He's got no shame- and might actually enjoy showing off a bit. He likes casual clothes, simple things that look nice. He's quite fond of leather jackets. And now, on Earth, jeans. (L'iyr thinks this is absolutely the stupidest thing in the universe.) He doesn't care about comfort, really preferring to be able to move easily and to be comfortable.
In all, he looks like a something you'd expect a dragonrider to be, maybe. All big and strong and handsome, with smiles for everyone he meets.
Picture: PB: Chris Hemsworth
Base Personality: To begin, a list. Friendly, loyal, strong, proud, unafraid, slightly gullible, optimistic, forgiving, astounding amounts of love, trusting, easily angered, fast temper, haughty, brash, rushes into things.
It's very clear A'gar is a good person. He loves people, he loves to be around people, he's very social. He has no problem striking up a conversation with anyone near, and gets bored easily if left alone. He actively seeks company (and often drags L'iyr with him) when bored, and he's bored a lot if he's not doing something. He doesn't take to sitting and thinking well. A'gar is eternally positive, and fully believes there's an answer to every problem if you just never stop looking for an answer, and he is positive that all people possess some shred of goodness in them. He makes friends at the drop of a hat.
He's also a little arrogant, and completely convinced of his own immortality, which can make him a little bolder than he should be. He's also got a hot temper that's easily ignited, and gets into more than his fair share of fights. (L'iyr is usually the one who drags him out, and has to apologize to Ein for getting his rider banged up.) He doesn't take any insult, especially regarding Einherjath or L'iyr (which the other rider doesn't realize) and is so incredibly proud that he often won't back down from even a stupid fight. Don't make him angry- he's fiercely protective.
And challenges? Bad idea. He'll ALWAYS accept. (Unless it's, say, a feat of intelligence. Then he'll make L'iyr do it.) But he does love to brawl, and likes the physical aspect of it- a friendly wrestling match will go over very well. And he reacts to things physically- he moves a lot, waves his arms, talks with his hands, makes finny gestures- the whole thing. He loves touching people, and is never sparse with a pat on the back, or a hug, or a congratulatory headbutt. (Yeah...don't....don't ask. L'iyr has simply learned to stay away from him when he looks happy.) He likes to be in close contact with everyone, and hates to sleep alone. He often sits a little closer to people than they are used to, and is really touchy, but never means offense by it, and if it's brought to his attention, he just looks puzzled and apologizes and backs off.
He gets bored easily, too. He has to be doing something physical or he won't be able to hold interest. And he adores praise, so he's a little TOO fond of showing off. Truth be told, he adores attention- he's kind of like a big puppy like that. He also ALWAYS forgets to look before he leaps, and so far, only incredibly luck and a hard skull have kept him from getting into bigger trouble than he has. His pride makes him hasty, and more than a little too eager.

History:
Father: W'tar (Waligtar) of Bronze Gungith (Benden)
Mother: Alifaren of Green Cheelmoth (Telgar)
Born on Pern to a bronzerider father and a Greenrider mother. His mother was a flightmoth for his father, don't get any ideas about love or romance, but as both his parents were riders, they didn't have much time to raise the boy. And being that they were from separate weyrs as well, it was eventually decided that the boy would be taken to his father's home at Benden.
And thus his childhood- Aligaren was not afrid of dragons, and raised with as much affection as his father could give him, and his father's bronze as well. Gungith doted on the boy, and he was in the relative freedom of the weyr. Like most weyrbrats, he was given the chance to stand, and it was always his dearest dream to ride a dragon and fight for Pern like his father. And while he was, growing up, always known for getting into scrapes, he also had a small band of dear friends, and the coup0le of them ran around having grand stupid childish adventures all over the place like kids would do.
Many people saw Aligaren's leadership and easy camaraderie with his fellows as a good thing, a strong sign that even if he didn't impress, he would never be lacking in friends or a place to lend his hand.
And when it came time to stand, well, he was close to all his fellow candidates as well. He never even blinked when dragon after dragon ignored him and impressed his friends- he was used to the thought of standing for turns by this point. He was only twelve at his first hatching, after all. And then at the second, the third... well. He never lost hope, but he did begin to pursue more traditional ideas for a future. He was strong, and loved to move and be outdoors, so becoming a runner and message-carrier was an easy choice. But he found it too lonely. So he explored other options, a turn here, a turn there, but always dutifully coming back to the Weyr for the hatchings- he couldn't bear not to, not after his mother made a return and informed him her dragon, a sweet green in a search wing, insisted he was dragon worthy.
And his father's bronze always cheered him on, certain this hatching would be 'the one'. Or maybe Gungith was just a little thick, but W'tar encouraged his son in all his pursuits- really, even if the bronzer thought he was a little hard-headed and rash, he never though Aligaren was a bad kid. And if he didn;t become a rider, he'd be fine as well. (Though upset- he had long had hopes of flying beside his son in the skies.)
Aligaren began to get distressed when news filtered back to him of the anomalies in the weyrs, and the rumors of a 'New' Weyr elsewhere, and then, further along, the whispers of a distant land. But they were no enemies- so he welcomed the Earth candidates with open arms and a cheerful greeting when they showed. And it was nearly his last turn standing for Benden's clutch when the queen threw a variety of defected children. He began to understand where some of the weyrlings he had once known were going, and grew upset. But when he saw one of the dragons with the Earth boy he- it, he was later informed, choosing no gender at all- interacting with his rider, he knew.
It was awful that Pern was losing it's dragon's but it was good to know the weyrling dragons were getting good care. And he continued to keep up good relations with all the Earthlings who came and went out of Benden, even giving any who needed or wanted them tours and company and happy to explain Pern's ways to them. He was considering asking to be a representative to Rocky in the near future in fact, until-
A final hatching. He'd given up any chance of impressing, until a handsome brown hatched, and looked around. His gaze flickered to the stands, then met Aligaren's proudly. Einherjath was in his head. The brown seemed pleased, and even before he realized what the shouting was about he was kneeling, calling to Einherjath. Only his was not the only voice- The newly- named A'gar and his reluctant new partner L'iyr had both been chosen.
To the same dragon.
The queen roared, upset, and even the other riders and weyrlings seemed unsteadied by the development. But all Ein would tell anyone was that he feared between and needed both his riders to stay alive- and they needed him. But he never revealed why.
Suffice it to say, neither was happy with the arrangement. A'gar thinks the Hold-bred boy is stuffy, cruel, and annoyingly smart. And he hates the way Einherjath can force them to be so aware of eachother, as if they were bonded to one another instead of just the brown. They could feel eachother in the most uncomfortable ways, especially near Ein, and thus quickly began to try and avoid eachother and the brown in threes at all costs. But that only ever upset their dragon.
So they tried to get along, but weyrling training grew difficult, and neither wanted t cooperate- eventually, it was suggested they man up and find a place where they might be able to seek better help.
Rocky it was.
Dragon Profile
Name: Einherjath (Ayn-hair-juh-ath)
Color: Brown
Color Code: 7F5E3E (Subject to change as I fight with his appearance)
Impressed on: July 2011
Age: 1
Physical Description: A big brown, something like 38 feet in length, and with a powerful torso to match. His shoulders are strong and broad, with huge wings to support him. Those wings are broad and long, giving him both power and stamina in the air, and surprising maneuverability. His muzzle is sleek and tapered, bringing to mind the countless images of Terran raptors long extinct.
His whole body is leonine in it's shape, with a long middle and powerful limbs, and a long tail usually held out behind him proudly.
As for his color, he is a seemingly nondescript sort of tan-brown, but with a handsome pattern to his hide in reds and almost-gold shades layered on his back and limbs.
Dragon Defect/Injury: DOUBLE BOND.
Einherjath has TWO riders- A'gar and L'iyr.
If one of them dies, Einherjath will go between and it is very likely whoever of the trio may be left will be wrecked mentally and emotionally.
No one knows how flights will work.
He was sent to Earth because no one knew how to deal with it. It bothered too many of the other riders. Ein is perfectly happy with it, but refuses to explain his rationale beyond 'I NEEDED both of them.'
Base Personality:
Einherjath is...complicated? Mysterious. Aloof. Mostly incredibly frustrating. He's very intelligent, he knows that. He often actually acts like he's holding back some pretty impressive secrets- he always seems to be amused by the way people run around, as if he's got all the answers and isn't sharing them. He's a little smug, very confident, and absolutely immovable in his conviction once he'd decided something.
He's also incredibly stubborn, and won't tolerate things he does not approve of. He's kind of bossy. But without fail, whenever A'gar and L'iyr begin to argue, Einherjath will step in and remind them HE needs them, and simply push their bond at them and force them into ceasing their bickering. (It usually works too.) He loves both of them deeply, and knows full well he would die without BOTH of them.
Keeping that in mind, he's outright said he chose A'gar for his strength and boldness. Einherjath reflects this in his own personality, with his stubborn immovability and his lack of fear when it comes to a challenge.
