Appearance: L’gar is a strikingly tall man, towering over most at 6’5. He has strong features which have gnarled with age, giving him a rugged and experienced aura. At one time L’gar had dark brown hair, but now it is mostly grey with mere hints of its former shade scattered about. His pale blue eyes are surrounded by wrinkles; some fine, some not so fine. L’gar has pronounced philtral dimple and deep smile lines to contrast his rather thin lips. When he speaks, his voice is gruff but warm, however when his temper rises he sounds more like an irate bear than a human.
L’gar once had very straight posture, but over the years he has stopped caring so much about his appearance and tends to slump over, especially when sitting. Since retiring from fighting Thread, L’gar has given up shaving for the most part. He’s often seen with some amount of stubble on his face, but it’s not so prominent since it’s just a grey as his hair. In keeping with his lethargic approach to his image, L’gar isn’t the snappiest of dressers any longer, favoring loose clothing in all shades of brown and dull blues.
L’gar also has numerous threadscores all over his extremities, and some across his chest. He bears them proudly.
History: L’gar was born of a bronzerider and a crechewoman in Igen Weyr. His mother was the one who raised him but he had a good, albeit distant, relationship with his father. He Impressed brown Zedoreth at the age of 15, and had a smooth weyrlinghood. He and Zed were excellent fighters and soon rose to the rank of wingsecond of the Weyrleader’s wing. His scars tell the tale of numerous Falls fought by the pair, but luckily none were life threatening.
At 32, L’gar became the Weyrlingmaster at Igen. He enjoyed the work and did it well, but he was known for being quite stern. Retiring from Threadfighting at 45, L’gar continued to instruct the weyrlings until he was asked to transfer to Rocky on Earth as the new Weyr began taking in the problem hatchlings. Igen was sad to see such an experienced Weyrlingmaster go, but the new Earth weyrlings needed him much more.

Appearance: Zedoreth used to be a brilliant coppery-brown color, but that has dulled with age. It is now a dusty version of that hue, marred with multiple threadscores, yet it is still healthy. L'gar only needs to give it a good oiling to bring out a nice, coppery shine.
A fairly stocky beast, Zedoreth has a solid frame. It once bulged with muscle but, without the constant strain of training drills and Threadfighting, it's become slightly leaner. To make up for the extra weight he had had in his youth, Zedoreth had broad, powerful wings, which he still manages to sport to this day.
