IC Date: Week of March 4th, 2012 IC Time: Midnight IC Weather: Light Snowfall [/u][/center] Nakia had noticed Moss seeming a little glowy the past few days. So it was no surprise to her, just as she had laid down to sleep, to see the little green raise her head and look around with red swirling eyes. "Have a nice flight, my pet." She murmured as the green flew herself out of the weyr and into the night sky. Moss trilled to the males of the Weyr. Come and get me! She seemed to be saying. Moss landed in the feeding pens, grabbing the first of the surprisingly early chicks to her and blooding it. She grabbed another, then a third and a fourth before she was sated. Now, she just needed to wait for the males. She trilled again, calling to them to come chase her. ((This IS a clutching flight.))

Shasta was asleep. Of course she would be! It was midnight! Jas, However was not. He had been fidgety all day and not a little obnoxious. Shasta had to threaten to make him sleep outside before he would quit. But he was at it again, this time more urgently.
Suddenly he heard his cue-- well felt it was more accurate. Without a word, Jas betweened to the feeding grounds. He saw the glowing beauty and crooned to her as he blooded his kill. While he drank the blue flit kept his eyes on the green so she couldn’t get away without him knowing.
Shasta slept on, the only thing that signified Jas’ activities was that her dreams became a little racy.

Asthrx paced around Blanche's weyr, he'd been on edge all day and he didn't know why, his edginess had gotten to Raj and Lis as well and Blanche had done her best to let it go. Finally, Asthrx realized why he'd been on edge, the brown heard the call of a female and he quickly betweened to the feeding grounds.
There she was, glowing, beautiful...and already being closely watched by a blue flit. This didn't discourage Asthrx one bit, he landed just to the left and in front of the blue competition and trilled at the female as he too blooded his kill. Asthrx's attention was split between her and the blue that was his competitor. He would have rather kept all his attention on the lovely glow of her, but he didn't want the blue to have any chance at stealing her attention away from him.
One of the chicks was snatched up by Asthrx and torn in half, he moved both pieced of the kill toward the green as if to say Pick which half you want. He watched her closely while at the same time, making sure that the blue did not get in the way of his moment. He felt more and more agressive the more he looked at the blue, this was strange to him, but he didn't mind it. It was all for her, for that beautiful, glowing green.

OOC: I'm pretty sure this guy is old enough now ) Distinctive white flashed from the wings of a certain, good-sized blue, as he appeared from Between above the grounds. It was the middle of the night, but when a cute green called, a young blue followed. His wings caught the night breezes, and her glow was all the more clear for reflecting only in the light of Earth's large moon. Jack spread his white-marked wings, claiming his kill in one swift movement, draining the blood without conscious thought...everything was instinct right now, everything was about the female that had called to them. Another blue and a brown were, so far, his competition. He knew he would have to watch out for the larger brown, but surely, a male as unique and handsome as he would catch any green's eye. Tiffanie, meanwhile, was obliviously asleep and unaware that she had a source on which she could blame any interesting dreams.

Moss looked around at the males that had gathered to Chase her. She could have almost grinned. They were, for the most part, unmarked males. But the last one, the second blue, had markings of white along his wings. He was indeed a gorgeous specimen...
With a screech she launched herself into the skies. The males would have to prove themselves. She wanted to see just what they would do to win her. She wanted to see speed, flexibility, strength, determination...
Moss flicked her tail before speeding ahead of the males. She tilted her wings so that she was spinning slightly in the air, still calling for the males to chase her.
Come! See who wins!

She had looked at him! Jack felt a bit of hope in his little firelizard heart, but then she was up and into the air.
And he was after her, the wind under his wings all that truly mattered, the white membranes flaring again.
After all, he would use his advantages, and against these plain, boring, ordinary males he would, surely stand out well. Yes. He would, and there was desire and confidence in him, carrying him upwards. She was going fast...this might well be a short flight, and he did his best to match her speed without using all of his energy to do so, balancing himself on the tips of his elegant wings, calling to her softly. Trying to get her attention on him, not the competition.
She was quite the gorgeous green and she *would* be his.

Asthrx didn't care that the green had rejected his gift. He was instantly up in the air along with her. He moved passed the marked blue that had also followed that beautiful green. He may be a pretty boy, but Asthrx was swift, he was confident and determined to have her as his.
He spun down toward the ground, straighting out just in time to miss the ground and fly back up moving to the green's side and calling softly to gain her attention. He may be young and dull looking but he would prove to her that he certainly was more than what could be seen.

If Jas could think with words he would have thought, no contest. As the oldest fire lizard there but still in his prime, the Blue would stand the best chance at getting the radiant green. Even when he saw a Brown and another Blue appear near him he felt nary a twinge of doubt. Still he focused on the Green, knowing that at any moment she could--
And with a shriek she was off. Shouting his acceptance of her challenge the the darkly colored Blue leaped into the air after her. She darted ahead of them and the others performed their own little acrobatics to impress the jade beauty.
Jas knew that he could fly far better than any of them and decided to show it. Knowing that stamina wasn't a problem in a Green flight he prepared to pull out all the stops. Pumping his wings to increase his velocity, the Blue rose a little above the others and suddenly pulled in his wings almost to his body. He made a tight roll that arced slowly downward, joining the others and then passing underneath them. He flared his wings from there, head facing the ground, and used the extra momentum to do a full body loop, touching nose to tail. He leveled out upside down and did a simple roll to be right side up, then he pumped his wings again to rise up to the group and stay matched with them.
The Blue firelizard huffed a challenge to the other males, daring them to beat that. He then crooned loudly to the Green to let her know it was all for her and he would do even better if she wanted.

Moss leveled out, watching the males. The boldly marked blue stayed near her, calling to her and matching her speed. The brown did a daring drop before coming back up to the rest of the pack. But the older blue, the darker blue, really got her attention...
Moss noticed his spectacular feat. He was a noteworthy blue, no doubt, and Moss decided she would keep him in mind. She believed he had a good chance.
Moss pulled ahead of the males, wanting them to show her their speed now. Which of them would be able to catch up with her first, when she was flying her fastest...?

Jas was only a little winded after his show. He didnt have time to notice his minor fatigue, however, because the glowing gem of a green suddenly sped up.
She raced ahead, goading him and the other males to keep pace with her. He pumped his wings, gaining on her a little. That wasnt enough though, he needed to be faster. He caught a thermal and allowed it to carry him as he pumped his wings for more speed. He was gaining faster now! He could feel a glimmer of hope well in his tiny chest. He pressed his wings harder, moving with his own power and that of the wind that was helping to carry him forward and a little upward. Finally he was just behind her. He was definitely a little tired but that didnt stop him from putting every ounce of his energy into each wing beat.
Being a Green, she was naturally more quick and agile than him but he was making up for that with raw effort. He wanted this Green. Wanted her with every fiber of his being. And he would win.

Speed? The white-winged male streaked after her. Being young, he was using almost too much effort, keeping up easily, but was he leaving enough in reserve to actually catch her?
The burn in his wings was mingling with the heat of his lust now. She was hard to catch, hard to keep up with, but this was not supposed to be easy. It was not supposed to be easy to catch the wonderful females of the sky, and Jack streaked after her. He was determined, somehow, that he was going to catch her, but he might exhaust himself in doing so.

Moss was feeling the burn as well, and she knew it was time to choose. The two blues had stood out the most. The brown had made her slightly annoyed, and she ignored him now. It was obvious that she would not be choosing him.
The younger of the blues, and the one with the interesting wing pattern, had proven himself to be energetic and determined. It was good, but it wasn't everything. The older blue had proven not only determination but agility and reasoning. He was a more experienced flitter.
Moss had made her choice. She angled for the clouds, calling out behind her to the older of the blues. She sent him an image of himself just to make sure he knew that she had chosen him.

Jas heard the Green's sweet summons and was filled with renewed vigor. She wanted him! The green gem that he so desired had chosen him! With a loud burble of triumph The blue shot toward her and slowed as he came next to her glowing form.
He flipped under Green and, crooning, locked limbs with her. The blue then began their decent.
