IC Date: Week of Feb. 19th, 2012 IC Time: Noon Reyna, previously sleeping on her bed, jumped up with a shriek. Faizah jumped as well, in surprise, and turned to give the pregnant flit a glare. With another shriek, Reyna disappeared between. A moment later, Reyna sent Faizah an image of a single egg. Faizah sighed, knowing that Reyna must be clutching. She put down her paperwork, grabbed another set of papers, and headed out of her room. Going to the hatching grounds was obviously what she needed to do... --- An hour later, Faizah glanced down at Reyna and her clutch of eighteen. She sighed. It had been hard enough finding people who wanted eggs for Maria's clutch, and that had only numbered three. But she would start putting the word out that another clutch, possibly housing a gold from the looks of one of the eggs, was hardening on the sands. Who knows... Faizah might even send a message to Tamahome and tell him that his residents could claim some if they so desired...

In the weyrling barracks, the green dragon slept, unmoving. Miriam ran a hand along her neck, softly. She had calmed down since the hatching, some, but there was still an air of nervousness about her.
Then Surth's soft, masculine voice came into her mind. The queen firelizard's eggs were hatching. And she had been promised one of them. Checking that Rityth was, indeed, deeply enough asleep not to be alarmed if she woke up and found her rider not there, she stood and headed for the hatching grounds.
The queen had laid a lot of eggs...more than there had been dragon eggs. She smiled at Faizah...the whiterider was a pleasant person, even if she did fancy herself as the one in charge. Miriam might almost respect her. Not the brownrider she had seen skulking around, eyeing greenriders as if they were not good enough for him.
Oh, definitely not him. She regarded the eggs. One of them was shaking. She wasn't sure whether she was asking Faizah, Reyna or both as she voiced a "May I?" before approaching them. Like dragons, firelizards needed food when hatched. Unlike them, they tended to impress to the first person who fed them. Not nearly as smart, from what she had been told...in addition to being so much smaller.

Blanche stretched, ready to get to sleep, she'd had a rough night; very little sleep and alot of nightmares when she had. However, Fate decided she wasn't going to be getting any sleep, not for a while anyway. She heard Surth's voice call to her in her mind. She, like Miriam and some others, had been promised one of the eggs.
"Lis, lets go. Reyna's eggs are hatching!" Blanche called out to her green.
Listhiath stretched and yawned as she too had been ready to take a nap. She waited for Blanche to run out of the weyr before she took off and settled a few feet away from Surth. She greeted the white with a nod of her head before her attention was drawn to the eggs and BlancheHers running swiftly to the Sands.
Blanche greeted Faizah and Miriam breathelessly, she normally wasn't this out of breathe, but she'd noticed she'd put on a little weight so she didn't think much of it. Nothing some will power and hard training wouldn't fix. Her attention was averted from the women on the Sands to the eggs, one was already shaking, it looked like she'd made it in time.
Blanche counted in her head 1...2...3...18 eggs! Wow that's a lot. This was definitely a big clutch and she wondered how a flit could carry that many at once in pregnancy. Heck she wondered how any creature could go through the pregnancy process. But she set those thoughts aside and waited in anticipation for the first egg to hatch.

Faizah smiled softly at Miriam, then nodded. "You have egg number four." She said. "You're welcome to take the egg and go into a corner of the hatching grounds. Just keep within sight, and don't forget to take a bowl of meat." Faizah continued as she noticed a few people enter with fresh chopped bowls of meat.
Yamina, Sarah and N'lon entered carrying the bowls. They had also reserved eggs from the clutch. They set the bowls on the stands, grabbing their own bowls, and then headed over to the clutch. Yamina had brought two extra bowls, handing one to Blanche and one to Miriam. Then she reached down for her egg, number ten.
Sarah smiled and greeted Faizah, then reached down for her egg. It was a creamy colored egg, with a swish of a slightly darker brown, and marked with a red number fourteen. N'lon just grabbed his egg, number eighteen, and stalked off to a dark corner. He didn't want anyone else around when his flit egg hatched...

Number four was supposed to be hers. Carefully, Miriam lifted it and put it kind of on top of the bowl she had just been handled. If it hatched ON the food, then surely it would be happy. She wondered what color it would be. A little green to match her beloved Rytith?
Or maybe it would be better if it was a male, simply because then she wouldn't have all girls to worry about. Both dragons and firelizards, after all, had heat cycles. What if they went and synchronized? She might end up going crazy. She was pretty sure humans had evolved out of that crap for a reason.
Maybe it would be one of the brown ones. She rather liked those...they were like dog colored. In a good way. A nice, rich brown would be an interesting contrast to her dragon...and besides, it would go with everything. They didn't, quite, come in black. Not that Miriam cared that much about fashion, but she did care about colors.
Settling down with the egg and the bowl, she smiled at it. "Well, little one. I promise it's safe to come out."

M'aati of Greens Herath and Nylath
M'aati? Nylath's voice was cautious as she reached out to her rider. The jewel smith had managed to get his hands on wire, beads and a pair of pliers. He'd been amazed at the variety of such things to be found on earth. Pern had nothing like the variety of things to be found on this new planet. Nylath and Herath had learned to be careful when contacting their rider while he was working, after an incident during their early months, when M'aati had gotten quite a serious cut when they distracted him while he was working with a rather stubborn coil of thick wire.
The young man sighed and put down his work. "What's wrong Ny?" He asked her. Surth says Reyna's eggs are hatching Nylath said softly. You did put your name down for another of those beasts didn't you? Herath's words sounded displeased, but the feelings coming off her were approving. The snappish green would never willingly show it, but she was actually rather fond of Imel and Kenta, M'aati's two brown firelizards.
Pulling on his jacket, the green rider looked at his girls "Going to give me a lift?" Herath huffed irritably, but the bright colours of her eyes told that she wasn't actually upset. Come on then
It didn't take them long to reach the hatching ground, M'aati slipping off the green back and onto the warm sands, and Herath and Nylath taking up a place on one of the ledges. The young man smiled at Faziah, Blanche and Miriam as he approached the group around the clutch.
"There's so many" He couldn't help the soft comment as he took in the size of the clutch. While he'd known there were a lot of eggs, it was one thing to know and another entirely to see the eighteen small orbs resting in the sands, rocking and waiting to hatch. Hopefully all of those who had claimed an egg showed up. he'd hate to see any little one go wild for lack of someone to feed them.
"One of these is mine?" He looked to Faziah, the weyrwoman being the obvious person to turn too, since he had no idea which of the eggs was his, just that one of them was.

Lyrah whistled gayly as she power-walked through the stone corridors of the Weyr. Kyrinth was happilly sleeping away his exhaustion. Snowfire and Kaena were somewhere flitting about - and causing trouble, she was sure. Now she was going to make her fair a little bigger. She was to have one of Reyna's new eggs. And she was going there now.
After thanking Surth for telling her, she had left the kitchens and walked down to the little corner of the Sands, now seeming very empty after both clutches had hatched. "Hello, Faizah!" she said as she walked purposefully up to the mound of eggs, the Gold, and the Whiteriding Weyrwoman.
Brittany, as usual, could be found in the library, reading a book to Useckoth (who listenned outside). Her brown eyes came up as she listenned to Surth's announcement carefully, then nodded and stood, brushing some lint off of her tee-shirt and jeans.
Sweetheart, will you keep Kitten away? she asked the Blue, refering to the young Green flit that she had Impressed the year before. He hummed, and told her to go on, that he'd take care of her.
J'kent was already in the Hatching Sands, oiling Rune and Dust in the heat. He had, at first, mistaken their sweet humming as a hum of pleasure and contentment. But when he glanced up, he saw the Weyrwoman and that Gold flit of hers and guessed again.
Quickly, he rubbed the last bit of oil on the last bit of dry hide. "There, you two, I finished you both. Go off and play somewhere, huh?" he said as he stood and jumped over the seats and the rail, landing cat-like in the sand. "Hiya, everyone!" he said, his eyes flashing with mischief as he glanced at each of those present already.
"Uh...."
Hunter heard Surth's summons. He would happily leave his room and go to the Sands, but there was one little, teensy weensy problem with doing that. Edgardoth was once again asleep, snoring with a stomach full of meat. However, Hunter had joined him for a nap this time around. And unfortunately, he had managed to get rolled onto. He was pinned by a huge bad of bones and meat. Figures.
"Dude, wake up!" he yelled again, pounding weakly at the Bronze's hide. Maybe, just maybe, he could get the dreaming dragon to edge off of him without breaking his leg.
Yeah, like that was ever going to happen.
Dude, I'll move when you shut up! the Bronze finally responded, eying the boy through one half-openned eye. Hunter shut up. He did not move. He did however, lift the weight of his bulk off of his Rider and allow him out of his wing. I'm going back to sleep.
Fine! You go ahead and do that! I gotta go! And he was gone, running to the Hatching Sands to get his two mine-dragon eggs.

Blanche thanked Yamina for the bowl of meat and watched as N'lon quickly moved away from everyone with his egg. She worried about him sometimes. The feelings she had for N'lon bordered on love.
She shook her head and picked up her egg, number 16. That was her egg and she carefully carried it and the bowl of meat away from everyone else. She set the egg on her lap and cradled it gently, this would not be like when Asthrx hatched. That had all happened by chance. It wasn't a bad thing that it had happened, if she hadn't impressed Asthrx she would never have found Listhiath. Her precious, green Listhiath.
Blanche smiled and looked down at the scars she bore from that day. Yes, it had hurt when Listhiath had tried to climb on to her out of fear, but Blanche still looked on those scars foundly.

Faizah smiled at everyone, watching as the sands started to fill up. She noticed M'aati walk in, and she called out to him. "M'aati, you have egg number nine."
She noticed N'lon, Yamina, Sarah, Blanche and Miriam had already grabbed their eggs. That was good. She didn't have to worry about those eggs. She turned to the others that had entered, handing them bowls of meat as she told them what number they had. "J'kent, egg seven. Brittany, egg five. Hunter, egg eleven. Lyrah, egg three."
Just then the first of the eggs began to crack. Little chirps could be heard from it as it shook. It was labeled with a red '7' on the side.

Shannara had been spending a lot of time on the Sands, even after Impressing Shannask. Though when the two clutches had been hardening and hatching, she had retreated back to her room, knowing that there would be a regular flow of people, and she was still mentally recovering from the events that took her from Pern.
However, with the little gold flit had clutched, she had convinced herself to talk to the red-haired woman who was the flit's companion. Or, more accurately, Shannask had.
And with the green and gold clutches now off of the Sands, she had taken up her normal corner, using the heat to lull herself to sleep. Until a hum pervaded her dreamless sleep, stirring her from a nap. She looked up slowly, trying to figure out what was causing the sound, and then noticed people gathering and taking some of the eggs. She hadn't caught Surth announcing to all of those who had claimed eggs to get to the Sands.
With a small sigh, Shannara climbed onto her feet, then approached Faizah. "Um, hello, Weyrwoman..." she murmured quietly, uneasy with all of the men gathering. She wanted to bolt back to her corner and hide, but her corner wouldn't be so hidden if she did...She would have to deal with the paranoia long enough for her to greet Faizah and the gold, get a bowl and her egg, and retreat away from the men.
It okay, Mine... Shannask murmured to Hers sleepily.
Garrik was asleep, finally, after being up and pacing and worrying for Virika. She was doing much better now that she had the anti-nausea pills, but still...She was carrying his child, he was gonna be a father...It was all still new to him.
He was so deep asleep that he didn't register Surth's summons, though Garrisk did. The wher stretched and nudged His, reaching out to him in his dreams. Mine, gold eggs. You wanted?
Garrik just groaned and rolled over, still asleep. Garrisk huffed, then pushed Garrik out of the bed. The man yelped and flailed as he hit the ground, looking up and around in alarm. Locking on to Garrisk, his eyes narrowed slightly. "Garrisk, why? You know how bad I've been sleeping lately..."
Garrisk only nodded, then answered, Wanted gold eggs?
"Oh, Reyna's eggs are hatching? Crap..." Garrik leapt up and got dressed quickly, rubbed Garrisk's eyeridges a moment and thanked him, then ran down to the Hatching Grounds.

One of the eggs was moving...but not the one she had.
Miriam decided she did hope it was a little boy, of any of the three little boy colors. That way she wouldn't have two girls. Rityth...was very definitely a girl.
She kept one eye on her egg, and one eye on the one J'kent was grabbing, which was clearly going to hatch first. Half of them or so would be green...she had asked and been told that. Hrm. The dragons, for all that they had five colors, still had a 50/50 sex ratio. She wondered if a biologist had worked out what made them different colors. Why were most females green and the occasional one gold?
Eh. Not important. But that did mean a 50/50 chance this *would* be a green.

Shasta had heard Surth, but was too busy to go immediately. She finished her task as fast as she could, told Quith she was leaving and quickly headed to the Sands. She deeply hoped that her egg hadn't hatched yet. She loved all her flitters and so enjoyed adding new ones to her merry band. As if summoned by her thoughts, all four of her fire lizards appeared around her. Jas wheeled above and cheeped a happy hello as Vex dove in and possessively took hold of the weyrling's arm, digging her claws into Shasta's thick shirt sleeve to keep on. Flare and Emmy took their positions on either of the young Rider's shoulders and in equal parts nuzzled her face and bickered with each other. By now Shasta was used to all this activity and for the most part ignored it except to give them all a scratch on the eye ridges.
Thus encumbered, Shasta entered the hatching sands. She walked quickly over to where over a dozen people were already milling near Reyna's eggs. In order to free her hands to hold the meat and the egg she flashed a picture of a place farther off in the stands to her flitters. They got the message and zoomed off to play with little opposition, though Vex did glare at the Green Weyrling with mildly red tinged eyes for being evicted from her spot.
Free now to hold things, Shasta walked the few paces left to the food bowls and grabbed one. Im sure this will make my little guy, or girl, very pleased, she thought as she walked over to the eggs. She gently scooped up the one with a '15' scrawled on the side and moved away a little for some space. As she went she caught sight of the Weyrwoman. Shasta nodded a greeting and smiled, saying, "thanks again for letting me attend Faizah., sorry I'm a little late."

Faizah smiled. "It's fine. You're here before any of the eggs have hatched, so as far as I'm concerned, you're on time." She murmured to the weyrling. At that moment an egg, labeled with a red number eight, cracked open. From the egg came a medium bronze flit, with stripes of a brighter bronze. He chirped a greeting to those that were around, flaring his wings to dry them, before he smelled the absolutely delicious scent of food. With another slight chirp he found a bowl of meat, lifted himself to the edge, and started to delicately eat the meat. After a moment he turned his head, looking up at a girl with silvery white hair, and chirped at her as his eyes whirled rainbow colors. Blanche noticed Shasta hurrying in, she'd come just in time too. The woman's flits moved off to play though one didn't look to happy about it. Just as Shasta was settling down the egg labeled '8' hatched, releasing a very pretty bronze. Was pretty really the word for bronze? Oh well, Blanche made up her mind, he was pretty.
She smiled as he climbed up to get his meat then eyed one of the people on the sands. Blanche wasn't sure who she was but she knew that she belonged to the flit. The swirling, rainbow eyes were evidence of that.
That was quick Blanche thought as she turned back to her egg. She wondered if it was a boy or a girl and what color it would be. She couldn't tell from the shell, she wasn't that talented, unlike some of the people on Rocky. In the end, though, it didn't matter whether her flit was a boy or a girl and it didn't matter what color it was. She knew no matter what that she would love her flit just as much as she loved Asthrx, Raj and Lis.

Two more eggs hatched, almost simultaneously. Some people actually managed to catch both of the eggs hatching. But most only saw one. Both eggs hatched to reveal blue flits. The first was a dark grey blue color. He had no markings on his body. The second blue was a medium blue with diamonds along his spine of medium dark purpleish blue. Neither flit seemed interested in finding theirs as they darted for a bowl of meat and began to eat the food. While everyone's attention was on the two blues, another egg hatched. This one was far from the main group, held in the hands of a usually peppy weyrling. As the egg hatched said weyrling, N'lon, grabbed a handful of meat. The egg hatched to reveal a rather boring looking green flit. She was facing away from N'lon when she hatched, but the movement of N'lon offering her the meat caught her attention. She looked up at him with curiousity. N'lon grinned. "I'm going to call you Fenni." He muttered. The green looked at N'lon, cocking her head to the side like a curious kitten. Then she seemed to smell the meat, and delicatly took a small piece from N'lon's hand. As she swallowed the meat, she looked up at N'lon with rainbow swirling eyes. Th'orn was not so worried about getting to the Sands running like so many were prone to do. He had no worries about not Impressing another firelizard. In fact, he really didn't care to. He was quite indifferent toward the matter. If he did, than he did. If he didn't, than he didn't. It was just that simple.
In truth, this line of rasoning may have had something to do with the fact that he had not really paid any attention to the fact he had been assigned one. He had mostly been think of Lakeen and Equinoth lately. Mostly Lakeen.
He walked daydreaming calmy down the cooridors, his signature fierce frown on his face. He didn't pay any attention to anything really until he felt that familiar wave of heat that meant he had entered the Sands once more.
"Weyrwoman, Candidatemaster," he murmured respectfully, bowing his head to each in turn. "I believe I was assigned egg 2?"
Lyrah nodded, still grinning as she turned to search out her egg among the fast disappearing mass. Eventually, she did find it nestled close to the bottom - if at the edge - of the pile. She scopped the trembling thing up carefully, knowing that Reyna might get proddy if she wasn't careful enough. Cradling it in one arm, she accepted a bowl of meat and walked to the rail to sit.
Although she had gone through a firelizard hatching once before, Brittany felt as if she didn't know what she was supposed to do. She remembered basics, but try as she might, she couldn't remember the rest. Until she remembered that there were no real rules at a Hatching like this.
Drat.
Biting her lip, she glanced at others before sitting down a ways off, waiting for her egg to hatch. It was hard and slightly leathery, and, of course, shaking very much. She desperately hoped that whatever flit hatched for her now wouldn't be as completely obnoxious as Kitten.
J'kent leaned against the rail right beside the clutch, watching the Weyrling and walk around and settle themselves with their respectful eggs as he stroked his own.
''Where's the claimers of those two?" he asked nodding once toward the blues that ignored all and clambored to the meat. "If they don't hurry, they'll be out on them...."
Hunter walked a ways out before plopping down on the sand and putting the eggs in front of him. So what now, he wondered. Was he just supposed to stuff the faces of the wee beasties when they hatched? That was supposed to be what he was supposed to do if he remembered correctly.
((No muse, go figure....But I did post!))

Shannara was more than a little surprised when the egg she had claimed was the first to hatch instead of the egg labeled with a '7', and that the hatchling inside was a gorgeous bronze with thick bright stripes along his back. She smiled softly at the little firelizard as he looked up at her with a chirp, and was already thinking of a name for him. With another chirp, he went back to delicately picking up the meat and carefully eating it, which she thought was rather adorable. And it was quite gentlemanly, narrowing down her search for names.
"Shar. Somewhat after my father," she told him with a small, somewhat sad smile. Because when her father wasn't grieving over her mother, he was quite the gentleman. But those times were few and far between, as his grief was ever constant.
Garrik nodded greetings to Faizah as he made his way onto the sand, then asked, "Egg...twelve, right?" He was pretty sure that was the egg that had been reserved in his name, but he wanted to make absolute sure. That way he wouldn't take someone else's egg if he was wrong.
((Sorry for the blah post, my Garrik muse went on strike from overuse.))

Brittany wouldn't have to worry for too long. Her egg decided that it was going to be the next on to hatch. Quickly the egg managed to hatch to reveal a dark green flit with swirl on her wings of yellowish green, tail rings of light mint green, legs of dark green and a diamond on her forehead of grey green. All in all, a very colorful flitter... She turned around until she came across Brittany, then she flared her wings slightly and bowed to Brittany. When the green rose back up she was looking at Brittany with rainbow swirling eyes. It seemed that a lot of greens were hatching, but Miriam's egg had yet to really move. Oh well. Each green meant less of a chance that this would be another green.
There was also the unattached blue, who did not seem to have a human with him. Maybe he would come over to somebody and join them. What if he just flew off? She'd been told that the firelizards did not *need* human companions the way dragons did. That they could easily survive on their own. And that might be a problem if they became established. Which was why they were keeping close tabs on the females.
She studied her egg. "Are you going to come out?" she asked it, almost thoughtfully.

The two little blues that before seemed to not care about the people around them, apparently changed their minds. Someone had caught the flits attentions, and the baby flitters headed for them. The first of them, the medium blue one, went for someone who already had his elder brother. The blue looked up at Shannara and chirped pitifully. It wanted the attention she was bestowing on his brother. He attempted to put his front claws on Shannara's leg to get her attention, much like a puppy would. But he underjudged and ended up falling face first into the sand. He cried out, looking up at Shannara with rainbow swirling eyes. - Flit was originally meant for Alexandria, but as she has not shown up, this flit has gone to someone else. He headed over to someone who's egg hadn't hatched yet. She was sitting near the rail of the stands, and seemed to be far from the clutch. At least it was far for the flitter. But he didn't seem to mind. He ran towards her, at times taking gliding leaps to lessen the distance faster. And when he got to her he looked up at her with rainbow swirling eyes, his wings fluttering and little chirps coming from him. - Flit was originally meant for Raynee, but as she has not shown up, this flit has gone to someone else. Th'orn grasped his egg carefully, being sure not to break it before it was time. He had not really claimed an egg, like most of the others had. Instead, he had almost been assigned this one when whoever had claimed it relinquished the claim. He had already said he would show up for the surprise egg. He had not really expected - nor wanted - another flit.
He sat down on the above the clutch, in the seats used during a Hatching. He stroked the egg calmly, thinking about everything that had happened to him since he had come to Earth from Southern. Equinoth had happened; as did the betterment of his knowledge of medicine and healing. And his new, ah, friends. And now, he supposed, this.
He sighed, and glanced down.
Lyrah still sat, leaning against the rail of the Sands, idly stroking the egg she held in her lap. She watched the other eggs begin to hatch. So far, there were two greens, two blues, and a Bronze already hatched, more of them hatching as time went on. The blues had not yet Impressed. Instead, they sat gorging themselves on meat.
And then, as suddenly as they Hatched, they turned around and zoomed off in two completely different directions. One headed off into the Sands, the other looked to be heading back toward the stands...back toward her?!
Her face was stunned as the greyish blue leapt the last few steps to her, eyes whirling as he held his wings up in a proud showing of his delicate wings.
"Well, what should I name you?" she murmured, smiling slightly. "I think....I think that you shall be Prince. Yes," she said, her smile widening, "you, are my Prince."
Brittany fidgeted while she sat, glancing every few seconds at the egg before her. It was shaking violently now, and she knew that it would hatch at any moment now. She bit her lip, glancing to the clutch and its dame. It was during said glance that the shell finally burst apart.
Brittany jumped, looking down at the colorful green. Many different shades of green, each a different type of marking on her tiny little body. She turned slowly, taking in the sights until her eyes finally came to the girl holding her.
Brittany had chosen names several days earlier, one for a boy, if that was what hatched, and one for a girl. On a whim, she had looked up a Cherokee dictionary online, and, because she had Cherokee ancestors, she had chosen names from that dictionary.
The green's name was Walelu, or hummingbird.
"Come on, Walelu," she murmured, holding a chunk of meat to her. "Eat. Here, eat sweetheart."
J'kent shrugged a the blues suddenly raced off to two different weyrlings. Obviously they didn't want to wait around. Him? There was no possible way he was going to lose a flit. He was coming, shard it all!
He took inventory of the newly hatched firelizards. Five of 'em so far, he thought to himself. Five hatched and Impressed. If this kept up, they may have to start sending eggs back to Pern, or at least try to broaden the area in which they were able to find Candidates. They were running out of people for both flits and dragons. Maybe whers. He wasn't sure; he usually didn't pay attention to the disgusting things.
Maybe, he thought, they should just tell the rest of Earth about them. It might make things a whole lot easier. But than again, maybe not.
He looked down, eyes studying the uniform tan shell. He wondered what was inside. Was it a blue or brown, like Rune or Dust? Or maybe it was a green or bronze. He doubted gold. This egg was far too small.

Ah, good, the two blues had gone to people. Well, Miriam figured they were blues as she'd never heard of a grey dragon...one of them was pretty much slate colored.
Neither, though, came anywhere near her, which allowed her to turn her attention back to her egg. Which still seemed in absolutely no hurry to hatch. Maybe it wanted to be last?
Or maybe she'd been given a dud egg. Well. If that happened, it happened. She could certainly live with it...there were plenty of female firelizards around and plenty more chances in the future. Still...she rather hoped that was not the case.
She really hoped it was okay...but why was it so quiet?

As Lyrah was focused on the newly named Prince, the egg she held so dearly hatched. Hairline cracks appeared and quickly widened until only egg fragments and a dark bronze flit remained in her hands. The bronze looked at the blue that was his elder brother and hissed at him. Why should the blue be the only one that got Lyrah's attention. And after hissing at Prince, the bronze turned to look at Lyrah with whirling rainbow eyes. He bowed deeply while at the same time keeping his head held high and his wings flared slightly for balance. Egg #3 #513f02 Pompous and Vulgar Looks to Lyrah

Shannara jumped at the pitiful cries of the blue, and her head snapped down to the poor, uncoordinated blue. Carefully managing the bowl so she didn't knock Shar out of it, she knelt down and scooped the blue carefully. "It's alright, little one. I'm sorry I didn't see you," she crooned to the blue, admiring his coloration. "I think I should name you..." She paused, thinking. He seemed to act a lot like the Earthian dog. More specifically, a pup. "What do you think of Puppy?" she asked him, looking for approval or a disagreement.
But, she only received a chirp out of the little blue as he rubbed his head on her hand, and she smiled. "Alright, you're Puppy."
Garrik watched as the two blues that had hatched and, at first, avoided any of the people around the Sands. Then they seemed to change their minds once their bellies were fairly full, and they ran towards Lyrah and one of the other wherlings. He couldn't recall her name immediately, but he recognized her because of her white hair. She was the girl who seemed to avoid men as often as she could.
Maybe she was a lesbian? But she didn't give off that vibe either. Maybe she was just afraid of men. For whatever reason she had.
The egg he was craddling was fairly still, but he was certain the hatchling inside just hadn't quite gotten the message that it was time to hatch. He smiled at that thought, of an oblivious firelizard just sleeping the world away. Of course, until they matured a little, most hatchlings, be they firelizard, dragon, or wher, did that anyway.
He also couldn't help but wonder what color the egg held, but he figured it couldn't be much higher than a brown. The egg was pretty small, so unless the hatchling inside was small for their color, it was probably just a green or a blue. But he would be happy with it whatever color it was.
