Graduation will be held at the end of this week. The following listed weyrlings and wherlings will be graduating, and will be expected to attend. There will be a feast and a party afterwards. Please dress in Gather appropriate clothing. Everyone is invited.

Nakia, Mentari and Lakeen looked at the list with smiles on their faces. They would soon be graduates. Then they would be on equal standing with most of the other members of the Weyr, and they would have the chance for advancement. No longer would they have midiocre chores!

"I can't wait!" Nakia exclaimed, bouncing on her toes. Her baby bump was huge now, and she looked ready to pop any day now.

Mentari wasn't far behind them. "Neither can I. But what are we going to do about the acrobatic part...?" She asked hesitantly. She remembered reading something like that ina scroll about Pern tradition when it came to graduating.

Lakeen smiled at them. "I just hope Lakeesk behaves himself..." She muttered.

Lyrah grinned widely as soon as she saw the list of Weyr/Wherlings. She had been a Weyrling for an extra year or two or three, and she had been waiting to graduate for ages. Kyrinth, too, of course. With little to do but be patient (and Lyrah was not the patient type of girl), she had been silently fuming for months.

"Well, I'm sure they'll give you some slack, Nakia," she assured the girl, knowing full well what the worried statement was about. "They'll probably give everyone some slack. It's not as if we are supposed to actually fight Thread. We aren't allowed, and that's what the acrobatics training is for."

She was standing just behind the trio, watching the list intently lest other names magically appear. She barely knew any of them, and did not know Lakeen at all. She had met the other two in passing, she thought.

"At least they are graduating us. For that, at least, we can be thankful."
