"Ow. OUCH. Gah- stupid sharder and his stupid-" K'vai may or may not have been limping. He was certainly bitching a great deal. His hand was pressed to his face, and at first, it simply looked like the was poking at the thin scar running across the bridge of his nose- but now, that was turns old.
Then he gingerly settled onto the couch, and pulled his hand away; he was holding a strip of fabric, liberally soaked in blood. His nose was still bleeding sluggishly, and he already had the beginnings of a black eye. His lip wasn't looking good either, probably also a result of whatever had screwed with his face. His shirt and jacket had faint blood splatters on them, and those strange stains gained from serious fights that you never really wanted to inspect too closely.
MINE! Outside, Lureth was quite seriously flipping her shit. She was pacing, clawing at the ground, nearly howling with a protective rage. K'vai, mine, I should have killed him, you should have let me KILL him! She screeched again, and settled into a grouchy, seething pile of green dragoness on the ledge nearest the common area.
Relax, mine'heart. I'm alright. And I won, anyway. Besides, I can't have you breaking our cover and murdering someone just because they say something rude. K'vai said quite calmly.
K'vai had been intending to just hide out and deal- the man's punch had been weak, and he seriously doubted the idiot had been expecting for a man as fey-looking as K'vai could have so easily dropped him the way he did; then again, no one ever seemed to remember greenriders still had all the strength a dragonrider built up over turns of oiling, feeding, and training with their partners. And this Earth bastard hadn't even known that much.
Probably why he'd said what he had.
K'vai touched his face again, and still tasted blood. His hand hurt, but the bruised knuckles were more satisfying than anything.
He leaned back on the couch and swore quietly again.

Peace. Quiet. maybe a book or something. That's what K'ryn was thinking as he headed toward the library. Of course he got sidetracked when Synth told him a green was acting up near the Common room entrance. He didn;t know why she'd bring that up until...
It is Lureth, mine. she told him, happy enough she was tucked away in her weyr and not having to deal with the other green at the moment. Convinient illness! K'ryn laughed at her for that, but dutufully made his way to the common area.
And jerked back with a swear of surprise. "Shaffit! K'vai, what the bloody shells happened to you?!" He said, looking pretty blown back by the blood on the other greenrider's face. He rushed over, frowning and lightly brushing away a bit of blood. Sure, it was odd, but as long as K'vai and he had known eachother, and given K'ryn's natural insistence on protecting his wingmates- which K'vai was by now, or as close to it as K'ryn cared about- it wasn;t so strange.
"What did you do, pick a fight with a wher?" He grumbled, as he began to search for a clean cloth or something- braun apopeared with a handkerchief right on time. "Stop that, let me help."

Faizah had heard about the fight. The other party had gone to the Infirmary, and the nurses there had told her about it. And then man hadn't been shy about telling them that K'vai had been the one to punch him. Surth had then found Lureth outside the Common Room.
Faizah hurried into the common room, a bowl of cold water and a few cloths. But she would have been a liar if she had said she wasn't surprised. There was quite a bit of blood there. And then there was K'ryn already there, trying to help K'vai.
She hurried up to the two greenriders. "I thought the two of you didn't like each other?" She asked, pasting a smile on her face.
She nudged K'ryn to the side, taking one of the soaking cloths and started to clean K'vai's face off. "It's cold, I know. But this will clean the blood and slow the bleeding at the same time." She explained.
Faizah found this slightly funny. She remembered K'ryn saying that he and K'vai didn't get along well. Yet here he was, helping the man that he didn't get along with. She shot him a small sidelong glance, a smile on her face.

K'vai hissed slightly at both of them. "None of your business, K'ryn but I was defending honor." He paused, and flinched away from the touch. "Ow! My Honor. All male greenrider's honor. I don;t know if that guy though i was dumb or just not worth talking down to, but if he didn't think I knew what 'Damn Faggot' meant he was sorely wrong."
K'vai was practically snarling, curled up on the couch in what was less a relaxed pose and more a rather murderous coil of fury. Faizah got a quick little snarl of greeting (snarling because he was pissy, not because he had anything against her in particular) and then he actually yelped when she went about helping clean his face off.
"Shardit, shit, that huuuuurts." he whined. "And no, K'ryn doesn't like me, that's a big difference. I like him quite well." He paused, and flinched again at the sting of whatever Faizah was putting on his face. "I don't like homophobic bigots who think to start fights with me." he glanced at the Weyrwoman, and stiffened his posture a little. "He told you I started it, didn't he? Attacked him? Ask him what he was muttering under his breath, ask him about the vulgarities he was speaking of me and my dragon simply because of my appearance and her color." He hissed.

K'ryn shrugged, looking gratefully at Faizah. he was shit at first aid, really, and was grateful for the help. K'vai he just circled around to lean on the back of the couch behind the other greenrider.
"Honor, right. You've got so much of that." He began, but then something set him off. he growled too, swearing under his breath and pacing the room angrily. "He said WHAT?" K'vai shot a glance at Faizah, then helplessly waved his hands as if to say "What can I say? I agree.' He shook his head.
"It doesn;t mean you can go around punching people." K'ryn tried. K'vai was so bad at listening... it never helped. Besides, he seriously agreed. K'ryn was used to Holders, their stiff upbringing giving them all the wrong opinions on greenriders- even riders in general. He and Synth had felt that before.
"Who was that guy?" He asked, finally.

Faizah shook her head at K'vai. "He said nothing at first. And then I told him if he didn't tell me who else was in the fight, he would be grounded to his weyr for a week and then have the duty of delivering Wrath's medicine. That's when he grudgingly gave me your name. Lureth provided your location." She said with a small smile.
She rolled her eyes as he yelped over cold water. "I know it hurts, but its only cold water." Faizah said, dipping the cloth in the water again to rinse some of the blood off it. Then she glanced at K'ryn, giving him a single hard look. "If you start fights with anyone over things they say, then you will be in big trouble, dearest K'ryn. I don't think we need a repeat of the Infirmary, do we?" She asked in an overly sweet voice.
He was someone new from the military, forced to come here and attempt to learn about dragons and their riders. Surth answered for K'ryn.
Faizah rolled her eyes as she stepped away from K'vai. Most of the blood was cleaned off, and it appeared the bleeding had stopped. She gently put the bloodied cloth in the bowl of water. "I told Ammon to stop bringing people who don't like the differing lifestyle of the Weyr, but he doesn't listen to me." She answered simply, explaining something of what Surth had said.
K'vai probably didn't know much about Earth politics and society much. Let alone what the military was...

K'vai just sulked, grumbling under his breath about the unfairness of it all, and shooting Faizah dirty looks when he thought she wasn;t looking. K'ryn and Faizah's apparent psychic conversation earned them both a purely acidic look, and the slender greenrider on the couch merely curled into himself and huffed.
Lureth had finally calmed down enough that she was now laying in an exhausted heap by the entrance to the common rooms, and K'vai stayed silent a long while to make sure she was okay.
K'ryn's lecture got a raised middle finger- yes, he was picking up bad habits on Earth- while Faizah's just got him a snarl. "That imbecile is clearly mental and should be relieved of position as soon as possible." K'vai said icily. "He's not only an insult to the Earth itself, but his actions could have gotten him killed." He was calming down some, and trying to dig up what he knew about Earth societal structuring. Military...right.
"I don;t care who or what he is. If he doesn;t realize the importance of accepting us for who and what we are, clearly, he's no better than the lowliest grub eating thread beneath the dirt, and second-" His eyes flashed with sudden worry, stress, and fear as he thought about what could have happened. "Lureth ... the only reason he got a hit on me at all is because I was holding her back. My green attacked a queen Faizah, because she was afraid a hatchling might take me from her." he explained. "Lureth would have killed him. Dragons are not supposed to harm humans, but at that moment, I know, she would have torn his throat out to protect me. His bigotry could have cost him his life."
