IC Date: September 16th, 2012 IC Time: Midnight IC Weather: Cool with a light drizzle of rain [/u][/center] Things had bee quiet lately, and many were enjoying the calm. With summer having just ended, and the coolness of autumn coming along, everyone was kicking back and taking it easy. Even the flits, normally hyper, were relaxing and enjoying the cool night. Except for one flit. Reyna, the Weyrwoman's gold, was staring up at the waxing moon, her hide glowing brightly. It was her time. With a shriek Reyna blooded a wild bird she had catch just moments before. The males would have quite a chase waiting for them. Reyna was a prize and she knew it. She took to the skies, shrieking again. The males had better hurry. She wouldn't wait forever for them...!

It was pure chance and good luck that Keno was around to hear Reyna's summons.
He supposed that being Isle's Junior Weyrwoman's firelizard did have its perks. Among them was him and Porli occasionally being sent to Rocky with messages or questions. Keno had come to give another update on Aurora's state of health, mainly. At least that was what he thought it was. That was what Samira had been thinking about when she had placed her small letter in his care.
He had since delivered it to the woman Samira had shown him, and had decided that, while he was around the Weyr, he would check on his green daughter, stolen when she had been hatched. It was while he was hunting for her that he heard the compelling call, a gold summoning suitors who thought themselves fit for her.
Being the firelizard he was, Keno abandoned his search and leapt into action. Eying the surrounding stone distastefully, he betweened to a strand of trees he had glimpsed as he had arrived. Launching himself at a plump squirrel, he blooded the creature quickly and efficiently, and left the drained carcass where crows would undoubtably find it later.
Hissing with lustful red eyes, he rose through the air toward the goldem glimmer in the grey, wet expanse of the sky. He sent her a picture of herself, tainted with with his own needy thoughts and wants. Every sparkle reflecting off her gorgeous hide onto the rain was caught, and they framed the graceful curve of her neck and her own eyes. Every minute detail was sharpened and perfect.

Bronze Orn Despite it being the middle of the night, from Orn's point of view, it was the middle of the day. He had been out in the Feeding Grounds just wondering which juicy morsel to pounce on when he had heard the mating call of Gold Reyna. It had been a while since he decided to join a mating flight so he quickly pounced on a chicken and bloodied it.
Once he was done, he stretched his wings and launched himself into the air. Since he was used to flying at night courtesy of His being a Wherhandler, he easily saw the gold hide of Reyna in the dark sky above the weyr. With a beat of his wings, he chased after the gold, he bugled in answer to Reyna's mating call, letting her know of his intent to chase her and letting the other flitts know that he has joined the mating flight. Already, he saw that a strange bronze was present. But for once, Orn didn't bother the other flitt. He was more focused on the golden hide of Reyna as she flew about in the air.

Reyna was tired of waiting, and with a single glance at her two suitors, she took off. She took off across the wind, then started a strange manuever. Up and down through the air, like a flying fish. And she continued this for a while before finally zipping upwards.
Without turning back, she practically purred at her suitors. A simple sound to keep their interest. But she also slowed down in her flight, wanting them to catch up with her. Wanting them to try and take her. Wanting to feel the heat of their body against hers.
She creeled back at them, urging them on. What were they doing back there? They surely were moving slowly tonight...

Bronze Orn Orn needed no urging as he saw Reyna take off. In a flash he was after her, beating his wings to keep in sync with her flying. But her larger size began to out pace him and he fell a little behind as he followed her up and down through the air like a roller-coaster. He had been hungry before the flight had began and he was regretting not having at least taken a bite out of that animal that he had blooded. But he was committed to catching Reyna so he ignored is rapidly complaining stomach, letting him know of his rising hunger. He snarled in frustration as he felt himself losing energy while he chased after Reyna who was now zipping upwards. He no longer worried about the other bronze. All he cared about was catching the golden beauty that was just right in front of him, a body length or two ahead.
As he heard her purr, he gathered his energy to give himself a little burst of speed. He caught up with her, but just barely. His exertion making his body give off heat as he neared Reyna, surely she would feel that one of her suitors was near her. He crooned at her, in answer to her purring. Letting her know that he was there, doing all that he could to make sure that this time, he'll be the one to catch her and certainly not some strange bronze.

Keno had once seen birds do as the gold one before him did; they had leapt through the air as if there was a sheet of water there, and they themselves were leaping fish trying to catch thier next meal. Yes, he had seen fish do the same thing. But, he had to admit, he had never, despite all of the flights andchases he had participated in, seen a fellow firelizard do it. Or dragon, for that matter. Never once had he seen the neat, difficult trick performed.
Yes, the trick was difficult. It involved a great amount of control and agility in the air. One must move his or her wings at precise angles at precise times, as Keno soon found out. Though he fought to stay near Reyna, it was a few moments before he got the hang of the feat. She had managed to speed ahead of him with the other, the bronze he did not know, his competition. Yet he was falling behind! Before long, they were even, with Keno slowly laboring forward.
Suddenly the gold slowed, and purred a purely seductive, inviting sound. Eyes swirling intensely with rnewed lust, Keno leapt forward, straining his wings to reach her. Even as Orn brushed past her, Keno brushed Reyna's wings with his own. He was just above her, just for a moment, and then he was gone again, falling back so that he would be right behind her.
He cared not for this other one, this other bronze that wished to take her away. Heat poured off him in waves as Keno stretched his wings out. Despite the chill and the cloud's cold tears, he felt as if he had been in the desert, in full view of the sun, for many long hours. But he wouls not back down. He was bronze; he was Keno! He would not stop, not yet.

Reyna purred with satisfaction as she watched her males. She was beginning to tire, but she still had a bit of energy left. Just not enough for anything fancy. Which she didn't mind, not in the least.
She spread her wings out, as far as they could go, and simply floated on the air currents. She was headed towards the lake, where she enjoyed watching the waves, and where she would choose which male. Both had been admirable tonight, and she was still undecided, but that was where she would make her choice.
For the moment, however, she wanted to tempt her chasers. Let them see she was almost ready to choose. She wanted to see which of them would stay with her, and which would give a last moment display. She chirped to the males, still gliding along, and watched them.

Bronze Orn Orn followed after Reyna, doing all the things that she did, just a second or so, later than her. It was the reason that he was so near, that he would be there to catch, if she tired of flying. He stretched his wings to glide on the air currents, just like Reyna. His strength was not infinite. He felt his muscles getting tired as he leveled his wings, to better catch what air currents he could get, to glide without pumping his wings up and down.
He saw her destination, and he couldn't help a croon come out of his lips. After all that exertion, it would be so wonderful to feel the cold water on his heated hide. But that would be only after the flight was over, and only after Reyna had chosen who she would mate with. He surely hoped that she would choose him, but only the golden beauty knows whom she would pick, when the time for her to pick her mate comes..

Reyna was becoming tired, bored of the games. She decided it was time to choose her mate. And she turned back to see which male had caught her attention.
Bronze Keno was a good male. He had shown her that he all but worshipped her. He hadn't given up the chase, even though he had fallen behind in the first few moments. And lastly, he had not forced his position only a moment before, when he had been flying above her. Instead, he had moved to fly behind her.
There was bronze Orn, as well, who had proved to be a good male. He hadn't hesitated to answer her call. Nor had he hesitated to loudly announce he intention to chase her. Keno had followed her through all of her tricks and maneuvers. He had given his all, despite his growling belly which even Reyna had heard during the flight. Not to mention, he had continuously assured her that he was there, that he was continueing with the chase.
He contemplated both of these males for a moment. But she already knew which one she was going to choose. So with a shriek of glee, Reyna shot upwards. Into the skies full of rain clouds. At the same time she called back for Keno to catch her.
((Close flight, but Keno stuck out just a little more.))
