IC Time: 7:20 pm
Mint had been glowing for days, her hide brightening as each hour crept slowly by. She was becoming a little more feminine as well, no longer the tomboyish creature she most often was. By the time she was ready to begin her Flight, she could have been a princess, vain and imperial, as well as a complete flirt; she had flirted outrageously with every blue and brown and bronze she met in the last few days.
Needless to say, the green knew what was coming and had wanted as many chasers as possible. She had great love for competitions, and her Flight would be a perfect one.
The sun had just barely disappeared beneath the mountains embrace when she decided it was time. Splashes of bold red and orange and gold lit the clouds in the west, a beautiful mass of cathedrals and exotic landscapes hung carefully in the sky. It was time for her to go and look and explore and call those willing to follow her.
The Game had begun.
With a wild screech, Mint leapt from her warm perch overlooking the Sands. She went between, reappearing almost instantly above Terra's Tear and its frigid depths. There was a flock of geese sailing across the shallows. As geese usually do, they were scattered, splashing amongst smaller groups amid the whole. One in particular caught Mint's sharp red eyes; there was a large one floating alone, watching the others, yet not watching the sky. With another cry, she tucked her wings to her side and rapidly, descended, attaching her lithe body to his before he had a chance to discover what was happening.
As the last of the blood left the limp body, Mint leapt inti the air once more screeching her challenging summons to her game.

Two blues, brothers, were play fighting with each other when they heard the green's call. They looked at each other, then flew off for the feeding grounds.
Hazard, the lovely light blue flitter that he was, managed to almost collide with a raven bird. He took down the bird and blooded it as quickly as he could. But he was still the second flit there. His brother, the medium blue flitter, managed to get there first.
But Hazard wasn't a fool. He saw no blood on his brother's face, and knew that he brother hadn't blooded. Which meant Hazard, as well as being in better physical shape, also had more energy than his brother. And this made the flitter laugh slightly, in only that way fitter's can.
Chubba completely ignored his brother, instead focusing all his attention on the pretty green that was rising. He flitted around her, crooning to her, trying to charm her. Didn't she see that he was prettied than his brother? Didn't she see that he had better manners than his brother? Surely she would, as the flight progressed.

Brown Zephirin Drakos Zephirin Drakos had been lounging on a rock near the shore of the lake when a green flitt appeared above the lake. His interest was hooked as he saw her pounce on one of the swans that frequented the lake. Before he could trill a greeting, he heard her screech a challenge. When he heard her mating call, instinct took over and like her, he pounced upon an unfortunate swan. This was his first time participating in a flight, but despite his disadvantage, he knew what to do as he only blooded his kill. Before Zephirin could give an answering roar, two blues appeared to join the flight. That surely would put him at a disadvantage for the blues are more agile that him. Still, he would not give him just because of such hardships. With a pump of his wings, he launched himself up into the sky, a roar of challenge letting the green know he has answered her call.

Mint wanted only the best of suitors. They had to be strong, and fast. They had to prove themselves to her, and show that they were strong in both body and heart.
Mint continued to climb, glancing back every few wing beats to see those three that had answered her call. Higher and higher she flew, up to where the air was thin and icy and strong wind scattered the clouds. Mint's breath came in pants as her lungs struggled to find the air to sustain her speed. She glanced back, trilling her challenge.
((Sorry for short, crappy, late post.))

Hazard pumped his little wings harder, chasing quickly after the green. If he wasn't careful, he would burn all his energy before the real chase had even began. But that was the way he was, and he had earned his name.
Which he was going to prove right now. With a gleeful shriek, Hazard sped ahead of Mint. When he was above her, he started some daring and possibly dangerous dips, dives and drops. He wanted to show Mint that he was strong, strong enough to stop his manuevers before they hurt him or another. He also wanted her to see how fast he was, how agile.
Chubba just sighed. His brother was ridiculous, and he was surprised the flit hadn't gotten hurt before. Chubba was a little more straight forward. He simply followed the beloved green. He was fast, like any blue, and while not as strong as the brown that was chasing, he was strong. By following as closely as he was he was proving that he was fast enough to closely follow a green.

Brown Zephirin Drakos Zephirin didn't mind that the two blue flits was faster than him. He didn't mind that one of them, was showing off. He knew that at the end of the day, he would be the one who still had the stamina to chase after the glowing green hide of Mint. While he wasn't prone to fancy flights, he never the less was a very persistent chaser, and flew after Mint even to the such a high altitude that he had to work, in order to breathe.
As he heard her thrilling challenge, Zephirin answered with a thrill of his own, letting the green flit know that he was there, and that he would not let her get too far away. Although he knew that the fancy flying might have impressed the green, he abstained from it and just kept on flying ever a shadow of the glowing green hide of Mint.

((Sorry for not being so active in this fight. I gotta end it....))
Mint trilled in response to the challenging calls from her followers. Her muscles ached, cramping in the frosty air and burning as she strained. She had to make a choice before her wings failed her. Her pride would not allow her to fall without her choice suitor.
She shook her head wildly for a moment, stretching her stiff muscles in flight. She was tired, but she took a moment to review what they had all showed her.
Hazard. He was fast, agile, and perfectly happy in the air. He was really very foolish, a joker.
Chubba on the other had, was not as outgoing as she would have liked.
Zephorin Drakos was sure of himself and followed her every move.
Who could she choose? Who should she choose? With a growl, she began a steep backwards loop, and forced herself to choose before she could level off again.
And so she did.
Mint leveled as she decided. Her wings trembled slightly, threatening to give way. For a moment, just a moment, time seemed to stop for her. And then she fell, falling through the cold air toward the heavier air that her body so desperately craved.
Brown Zepherin had her favor. All he had to do was Catch.

Brown Zephirin Drakos Zephirin strained as he pumped his wings, trying his best to always be a shadow behind Mint. He was left in a daze as he saw her suddenly do a steep backwards loops. Oh, he followed after her, but without making it harder for himself. He flew and chased after Mint, wondering if she was tiring of her flying acrobatics. He hoped so, he didn't have her agility that she was showing to him. And he crooned at her, to let her know of his admiration of her agility.
And as Zephirin watched Mint level out of her maneuver, it seemed that she finally decided. As Mint fell through the sky, Zephirin had striven to catch up, to align himself with her falling body. And before he could stop himself, he had caught her. Twining his neck around hers, they mated as they fell. And before they got too close to the ground, he leveled them out. Flapping his wings, his lust sated, and proud of himself for having caught Mint, he brought them gently down to the ground.
