Setting: One of those comfortably warm day despite being well into autumn.
Green Lovely
Lovely's hide had been glowing for a couple of days now and the green-striped flitt had gotten ever flirtatious amongst the male flitt popuplation. And at last, her time has come for her maiden mating flight. She had already been outside contemplating on her next meal when she felt the urge to blood her kill. Instinct has taken over her and with a bound, she pounced on a wild big fat turkey. She fought the urge to take a bite of the succulent meat that passed her lips but she abstained from the temptation and just drank the blood. Her blood lust satiated, she thrilled a call to all and sundry. Her time has come, she launched herself towards the sky above the feeding grounds and waited for her suitors to come and court her.

Brown Rannoch
Rannoch had seen the green Lovely, noting her increased flirtiness with glee. And he had been kind of stalking her, waiting for her time. But, sadly, he had been napping when she called to the males. This had woken him, and with a surprised and alarmed sqwak he was in the skies after her. He did not blood a kill, being inexperienced as he was. But he did call out, in his most flirtatious and confident way, to assure the gorgeous green that he would chase her.

Green Lovely
Lovely looked behind as she reached the sky to see how many have joined the flight. She was disappointed to see that only one brown had consented to chase her. Still, just because he was the only suitor didn't mean that he can win her easily. With a twist of her wings, she spiraled down, enjoying the rush of wind against her heated skin. Before she reached the ground, she snapped her wings open and skimmed the trees, as she made her way towards the nearby lake. She wanted to cavort in the waters and hoped that the brown will chase after her with all his might. She didn't bother looking behind her as she pumped her wings to gain speed and altitude. She thrilled a call, enticing the brown to do some aerobatics around her, letting him know that she still wanted to be impressed by his flying prowess.

Brown Rannoch
Rannoch watched her spiral down, following her at a slower pace. He didn't want to collide with her if she made a sharp twist. But she simply snapped her wings out and flew only just over the trees. With a bugle to her, Rannoch put on the speed to catch up with her. He was close when she called to him, enticing him for aerobatics. He trilled back at her, pushing himself to spiral around her. She could see every inch of him this way. Lastly he twisted, flying for a few tense moments on his back with his wings extended.
Then he flipped back over, flying underneath the glorious green, chirping to her flirtatiously.

Green Lovely
Lovely was excited as the brown spiraled around her. And she was mighty impressed when he had flown on his back. It takes great courage to fly like that. She crooned back as he chirped at her. Still, she already knew that her time to choose was imminent and with no other to choose from, she flew close to the brown to brush against him. With a come hither look, she crooned at him, her choice made as she glided on the air above the lake.
