Aha. Tatsuya found what he was looking for and, in true young male fashion, pounced.
Rice rolls. That would be perfect for lunch, and there was juice as well. His dragon was asleep outside the weyrling barracks, snoozing quietly and sending vague, fluttering images of dragon dreams into the bronze weyrling's mind.
He could not make any of them out and he did not try. As long as Chocchath didn't have a nightmare, he was happy. For right now...lunch. Then he might follow his dragon's lead and take a siesta. It was that kind of a day...warm, somewhat humid, and very quiet. Not that Isle ever really got cold, from what he had so far experienced. Warmer, definitely, than Japan itself. But even though it was autumn, this was still a little too warm. He hesitated, then wandered over to the freezer, hunting for ice to put in his drink. He needed it right now. He almost envied those at Rocky...who would be, right now, preparing for the mountain winter.
Almost.

As'ra As'ra's stomach was grumbling rather loudly as he made his way towards the Dining Hall. He wasn't sure if there would be any food left out but hopefully, the folks haven't eaten all there was for lunch. He sighed as he smelled the scent of food coming from inside the Kitchen. Making up his mind, As'ra changed routes and made his way towards the Kitchen. Maybe, if he was lucky, he can beg some food, hot off the stove from one of the cooks. Then again, he could very well just help himself to food if no one was about. After he opened the door to enter the Kitchen, he noticed that there was already someone in it. Before he could say hello, his stomach grumbled loudly. Hoping he wasn't red as a tomato, he casually said, "Carry on. Just hoping to get something to eat." as he looked around for ingredients to make a sandwich. He's not a heavy eater, despite being famished.
As he looked, he thought about his job. Now that there were Weyrlings, he can finally do his job. It has been some months since the first weyrlings have been Impressed. For now, the basics of butchering, feeding, bathing, and oiling were the main lessons that he has thought of giving them. However, since there won't be any Threadfighting on Earth, he didn't think he'll need to teach about flying tactics in dodging Thread. But aside from flying, and those that are necessary to be learned, As'ra was coming up blank as to what to teach the Weyrlings. It was why he hasn't called for lessons yet since Flying Lessons will only be held when the dragons are big enough to start flying.
((OOC: Let's just pretend that As'ra has actually given the aforementioned lessons.))

Tatsuya waved to the weyrlingmaster. Who sometimes seemed to be at an odd loose end. He rode a blue dragon, and he was competent enough, Tatsuya supposed.
But he always seemed to be very quiet and hands off. "There's plenty of food," he noted, moving to one side so that the older man had space to create his sandwich. He finished his own plate full, looking around for somewhere to sit. Somehow, he was not in a mood to go back to the weyrling barracks. He would be glad when his bronze was big enough to move into a private Weyr. They seemed to have a rule that that only happened when the dragon could safely carry a rider.

As'ra As'ra nodded at the weyrling's reply with regards to the food. "Yes, there sure is." he replied with a smile as he proceeded to gather the ingredients that would make up his sandwich. As'ra was making a ham and cheese sandwich with banana peppers, lettuce, and tomato on a foot-long grinder. He cut the grinder in half and put them on a plate. Then in a tall glass, he poured some grape juice. With something to finally assuage his hunger, he looked around for a place to eat.
As'ra didn't like to eat alone if he could help it. And since the only other person was the weyrling, he opted to join the younger man. "Mind if I join you?" he asked moving to a seat across the table from the younger man.

"I don't mind at all. Just watch out for Yin and Yang. They're trouble."
Even thinking their names was enough for both blues to appear, landing on the table nearby. "These two. Double trouble."
It was really rather amazing...one light with a dark spot and the other dark with a light spot, the flitters were the most perfect one could imagine to earn their names, even if the names were Chinese. It was...beyond inevitable, really.
"Not sure where my green is. Around somewhere, I suppose. Probably causing trouble."
Firelizards, he had realized, held the same level of innate trouble potential as cats.

As'ra As'ra nodded in thanks as he sat down to eat. It was nice to hear that the flitts were thriving on Earth. He smiled as he heard the young weyrling describe his flitts, Yin and Yang as trouble. It was just fortunate that there weren't that many wild flitts on Earth yet, then the lad would know what trouble meant.
Taking a bite out of his sandwich, he said with whole-herated agreement, "Yes, they can be. Part of the reason why I haven't gotten the urge to attend any flitt hatchings." As'ra said after he swallowed. Then looking around, he added, "Mind you, it's fortunate that there aren't that many wild flitts here yet." as he reminisced about the wild flitts back on Pern.
He took a sip of his juice after talking. And then, he ate in silence for a little while. Giving the young lad a chance to eat in silence as well.

"I think most of the firelizards that hatch hatch realizing it's much easier to belong to somebody," Tatsuya noticed amused. "But we'll see."
Wild firelizards would eventually give away the secrecy of the Weyr, too. They were bound to clutch in interesting places, show up in the middle of Tokyo.
Everyone would know, eventually, Tatsuya realized. People would know dragons were real, that they flew in the sky...and bonded to men and women. The secret could not be kept forever, although he would not be the one to reveal it, nor would his firelizards. He focused on his food, hearing nothing more from As'ra. It was, as usual, pretty good for canteen food.
