UPDATED AS OF IC DATE AUGUST 5, 2012
Name: T'riel (Pronounced as tree-yell. Formerly known as Terriel (Pronounced teh-ree-elle))
Age: 24 (July 1, 1988)
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Mostly a masculine person, but once in a while, there are random acts of femininity.
Rank: Bronzerider
Weyr: Rocky Weyr
Appearance: Terriel's hair is very long for a guy. His waist-length hair is very silky and shiny that any girl would envy. He usually has his hair up in a pony tail. However, once in a while, he has his hair down and lets it fall freely down his back. During the day, one would notice that Terriel's hair has a bluish tint. However, at night, his hair is the blackest there is.
Apart from his unnaturally long hair, Terriel has almond-shaped eyes the color of the deep blue seas. The edges of his eyes have laugh lines proving that he smiles a lot. However, his eyes are very expressive that one would know his true feelings right away no matter how much he hides them behind a smiling face.
Terriel stands six feet tall with an athlete's body build. Yet despite his size, he is fast to act in defense or offense if need be. In addition, he is very well coordinated and rarely trips on anything.
Terriel has a perfect bronze-brown complexion, not too fair and not too dark. In addition, on his right chest is a very unique birthmark. The birthmark is lighter in color from his bronze-brown skin and is shaped, oddly enough, like a dragon in flight.
Terriel has a perfect set of white teeth. Which is something that he looks at first in every person that meets. His nose and lips are everage enough compared to everyone else. However, make no mistake, his face is one that catches the eyes of ladies and men alike.
Terriel will only wear clothing that will make him look good. He doesn't like wearing clashing colors nor does he like wearing old style clothes. He likes to wear the hip and trendy fashionable clothes whenever possible. In addition, when he speaks, his voice has such a dreamy quality that most people who are listening are mesmerized.
Picture:
Personality: Terriel is someone who believes in chivalry. He loves to help animals and damsels in distress whether they be young or old. But despite his chivalrous attitude, he believes in doing things by yourself if it helps you to improve in something.
Terriel loves the great outdoors. He likes to run through trails in the forest or walking along sandy beaches. However, usually, Terriel likes to run on runner's routes just to be out and about. However, despite his love of the outdoors, Terriel is a very hygenic person. Never a time would you find dirt in his person or even a disshiveled hair.
Terriel loves and respects all dragonriders from Gold to Green, for in his heart of hearts, he hopes to someday be a dragon rider himself. Terriel's father, Tereson, having been an Archivist, Terriel grew up learning to love writting and reading. However, he did not restrict himself to just books, he also desired a good, strong, and healthy body. That is why, he befriended Runners and would sometimes run with them.
In addition to books and the outdoors, Terriel loves animals, big and small. He hates it when they are hurt, abused and neglected. He does not like them to suffer and would do anything to make them comfortable, safe and sound.
Terriel loves to listen or dance to music although he is no musician himself. Terriel loves to make friends and be in the thick of things, but for all of that, he always comes out unscathed. He is very respectful of his elders and betters although they had to earn his respect. Just as he believes in earning his respect among others.
When given a task, he never procrastinates and completes them in a swift by efficient manner. He believes in honesty and sincerity, and hates those who lie and cheat. Although he likes to flirt with women and the rare man or two, he believes in having a long lasting relationship with someone who loves him for all he is.
For all that he would love to be a dragonrider, he has a great fear of heights because of the accident when he was younger. He used to get nauseous and in rare occasions faint should he be given the visage that he was standing on air or should he be near the edge or a window. As long as there was solid footing beneath his feet, he was fine, otherwise, he would start to freak out. Since Impressing, he has tried to overcome his fear of heights. Unfortunately, by the time they graduated Weyrlinghood, T'riel was not able to completely overcome his phobia.
History: When Terriel was born in Benden Hold on Pern, he was named after the combination of his Father's name, Tereson and his Mother's name, Lyriel. He was a very lively baby and was the life and joy of his mother and father. He did not cry at loud noises nor did he cry when strangers took care of him for a little while. He learned how to walk at eleven months old. In addition, he started to speak clearly audible words at thirteen months old. His father kept teaching him words to increase his vocabulary as Terriel grew.
When he was five turns old, while he was out playing with other kids, he got accidentally pushed out a window and fell six feet to the ground. He got a broken leg and arm which both healed nicely enough without any visible scars. However, since that time, he has been afraid of heights. So long as there is a solid ground or floor beneath his feet he was fine. However, place him near a window and he starts to freak out and sometimes ends up fainting because of his fear of heights.
When he was nine turns old, his mother gave birth to his baby sister, Lyresel. By this time, he was old enough to know what it meant to being a big brother and he made sure that he was the best there is. He helped to care for his sister to help relieve his mother if she needed to have some peace and quiet for a while. His sister grew up to love him very much for his love of her and for him taking care of her as much as he could.
When he was twelve turns old, he was sent to the Harper Hall to learn his letters and literature. As he was travelling from the hold to the hall, he chanced upon dragons up in the sky doing drills. He saw them breathing fire and soaring through the sky. He was so awestruck by the flying dragons that he longed to be one of them.
When he arrived in the Harper Hall, he was fast to absorb anything that will help him become an Archivist like his father. He would visit home every summer and everytime he travelled to and fro, he would always see dragons flying in the sky. In addition to his studies, he wanted to keep fit and started running through the Runner's routes until he met a Runner and befriended him. He befriended any Runner that he met on the Runner's routes and the Runners liked him enough that they would sometimes invite Terriel to run with them if the destination was near enough.
When he was nineteen turns old, he got the shock of his life upon hearing that his father was dead. He was so close to completing his studies but he lost heart after his father's death. After mourning his father's death, he just could not bring himself to complete his studies in the Harper Hall especially when he was needed at home. Therefore, he had decided to leave the Harper Hall and stay home in Benden Hold to help his mother and sister. He had concentrated on helping his mother and sister that he all but forgot about wanting to be a dragonrider. However, it was at this time (August 2007) that he managed to Impress Brown Shadow and his dream to become a dragonrider was rekindled.
When he was twenty-one turns old, he was out working at Benden Hold when the Searchriders appeared for a Search. The Lord had summoned every child to the court when the Searchriders had landed. Terriel went home to collect his sister and had her line up along with all the eligible children for the Search. He was waiting for the Search to finish when out of the blue, he was the one picked instead of his little sister. He was struck speechless and stood there for some time before telling the Searchrider that he needed to take his sister home and that he needed to tell his mother about him becoming a Candidate. By this time, his Mother has found a job of her own and Terriel did not feel too bad about leaving his mother and sister to go to the Weyr. Having said his farewells to both his Mother and sister, Terriel accompanied the Searchrider and set out to begin a new chapter in his life. One where he might one day be a dragonrider.
Hatching Scene from Terriel's Point-of-View
At the hatching (July 2009), Terriel held his breath as he saw the rather playful blue dragonet bounce along among the candidates looking for his lifemate. It was so comical that he almost laughed out loud at the silliness of it all. But this is a hatching and it is a very serious matter. Those who Impress today would one day become part of the dragonrider family. And they are the only ones standing between certain death should Thread begin to fall once more in the skies of Pern.
However, his breath went out in a whoosh as he was rather shocked to see the blue hatchling's tail catch a candidate's legs and the candidate went down. The candidate was surely hurting but he did not seem to want to get out of the sands. Seeing the wounded candidate, Terriel wondered if that one would impress. He had gathered the notion that one needed to be physically healthy in order to Impress. But who knows, a dragon just might choose the wounded candidate.
It was almost to difficult too keep all the dragonets in his sight but he noticed that the brown has not made a choice yet. However, so far, it seemed that two blues and a green have been able to Impress their chosen candidates. Ah but then, Terriel saw the brown Impress someone from the stands. Everytime he saw a dragonet choose someone besides him, Terriel gets a rather emotional blow that it just might not be his luck to Impress this time.
As time passed in infinitessimal slowness, Terriel watched in bated breath as a rather large and very handsome bronze broke out of his shell. Although he heard other shells cracking and hatchlings running and hopping about trying to find their chosen candidates, Terriel's eyes was locked on the magnificent bronze dragonet. He watched in awe as the bronze took the crowd in making them understand and realize what an honor it was that he had finally hatched.
Time began to pass normally once more for Terriel but he still had his eyes locked on the bronze wondering and yet hoping that he would be the one that the bronze would finally choose to Impress. Finally, the bronze began to move in such a stately and elegant fashion that Terriel was rather jealous with how much charm and attention the bronze was able to produce. As the bronze made his way among the hopeful boys, Terriel didn't even notice that a candidate was wounded in the bronze's stately march. He had eyes only for the bronze who was somehow making his way over to where he, Terriel, was rooted to the spot.
At last, the bronze finally reached Terriel and stopped right in front of him. Terriel was speechless, he just stood there staring at the magnificent bronze. And then wonder of wonders, Terriel heard a voice so much like his father's that he was moved to tears. In his head, he heard the dragon say, T'riel, I have decided that you will be mine. I am special. And you are as well. Feed me. And although the dragonet never said his name, Terriel or rather T'riel as he will now be called, somehow knew that the bronze's name is Heironeoth.
With tears still flowing down his eyes, T'riel went down on his knees making his eyes level with the dragonet. He reached out to Heironeoth with trembling hands and said, "Oh Heironeoth... Heironeoth, you do not know how much you honor me by choosing to Impress me." T'riel gave Heironeoth a rather hard embrace almost choking the poor bronze.
Yes, yes, I know what great honor this is but will you please stop choking me? Heironeoth said as he tried to get some air.
T'riel let go of his embrace and sheepishly apologized to Heironeoth. "Oh, forgive me Heironeoth, I did not realize I was hugging you too tight." T'riel said as he stood up and brushed away his tears and the dirt and sand that seem to have clung to his clothes. Dusting himself T'riel gave Heironeoth a smile and reached down to give him a scratch near the eye ridge as a way of making amends.
Heironeoth almost forgot that he was hungry when T'riel scratched his eye ridge in a crooning voice, Ooo... Whatever it is you are doing, do not stop. That feels so good. Heironeoth was almost purring in contentment but the bliss was broken when Heironeoth's stomach protested rather loudly that it needed food.
Laughing, T'riel said to Heironeoth, "Well, your highness, if you want to eat, then I need to stop scratching you and take you to the feeding table where the meat is located."
Heironeoth grunted assent giving his permission that T'riel could stop scratching him so that he could eat. And together, the two of them walked elegantly to the feeding table.
Life as a Weyrling was very busy and T'riel had a lot of things to learn especially since he was a Bronzerider. Heironeoth was rather a handful to take care of at first because he would always want the best of the meat available, he wants to have the brightest Bronze sheen, and he could sometimes be downright stubborn when it comes to doing things that might get his hide dirty. T'riel almost wonders who is more vain, him or Heironeoth, when it comes to being neat and tidy and always looking your very best.
During the first sevendays, T'riel had a hard time with keeping up Heironeoth's appetite. Heironeoth was always picky about the quality of his food. The first month of Weyrling lesson, was spent primarily on getting to know their dragons inside and out. He learned about Dragon Anatomy, Dragon First Aid, Weyr Etiquette, and the Duties of Dragonriders. In addition, he had to have a working knowledge of caring and feeding Heironeoth, the emphatic bond that he and Heironeoth had, and the diagnosis and treatment of common Hide problems. Of course, every day, he had to oil Heironeoth's hide or he might get sores that would be devastating should he ever go between. The second month included more lessons that they, the weyrlings needed to know like, Politics, History, Geography and Weather patterns of Pern. They also started basic ground drills. The months passed quickly with Weyrling Lesson being added to in order to increase the Weyrlings' knowledge. Of the lessons, T'riel had a hard time when it came to the flight drills. Heironeoth had grown a lot and T'riel was hard pressed just trying to stay in his seat as Heironeoth got used to T'riel's weight. He had to take secret practices so that he would be able to overcome his fear of heights. Of course, Heironeoth also helped by constantly reminding T'riel that Heironeoth would not let him fall and that T'riel should relax because everything was fine. They were actually doing what they were meant to do, fly to sear Thread from the sky.
Unfortnately, two Turns passed by rather quickly and they graduated Weyrlinghood. By this time, T'riel was still not yet over his fear of heights and maybe he never will. The most he could do was ride Heironeoth until they reached two hundred feet in the air. But, any more than that and T'riel started to feel dizzy and nauseated. They couldn't even fly high enough to join the Queen's Wing who flew the lowest altitude during Threadfall. The Weyr didn't need any useless dragonpairs during Threadfall and so, the Benden Weyrleader and Weyrwoman decided that T'riel and Heironeoth should be sent to Rocky Weyr in Earth where the pair would not need to fly to sear Thread in the sky.

Name: Heironeoth
Color: Bronze (#CC3300)
Color Code: Main #CC3300 | Marking #FF8C00
Impressed on: July 4, 2009
Age: 3 Years Old
Physical Description: Heironeoth is not one of the larger bronzes in the Weyr, but has broad wings which will allow for great endurance and gliding. He is mostly a reddish orange hued bronze with some orangey bronze on his underbelly, his right hindleg, and the edges of his wings. From afar, he almost looks like a flame or as if he is on fire. Heironeoth has reached his full growth and now has a length of 37 feet and a wingspan of 61 feet. In addition, his height when standing on all four legs and taken at his shoulders is, 9 feet and 3 inches.
Defect/Injury: Heironeoth does not have any physical or mental defect. However, his Rider still hasn't managed to properly overcome His' fear of heights. So, when they graduated from Weyrlinghood, they were still useless during Threadfall. It was then decided that they were to be sent to Earth where they don't have to fly in a Wing to fight Thread.
Personality: Heironeoth is a natural born leader. He is charismatic and kind, but also knows when to be commanding. He looks out for those under him and will protect any who need it. Only aggressive if the situation calls for it, he prefers to be loving and gentle. He doesn't mind taking orders, but he can take over as leader just as easily. He takes his role in life seriously and isn't one to joke about serious situations. He is amazingly intelligent, more so than even the golds and he uses that intelligence for the betterment of the weyr. His rider is his number one priority however and he would do anything for them. However, he can be extremely cocky at times and always has to be the best at whatever he tries. He also can be slightly stubborn and very egotistical at times.
Hatching Scene: There was no tumbling or falling from its shell for this young bronze. He sat himself down amidst the fragments of his shell, striking a pose to show off just how good looking he was. As the glow-light hit his dark bronze hide, a sheen of red seemed to appear all along him. He was definitely a looker and he knew it. Spreading his wings, he remained where he was, letting them dry a bit, as he surveyed his prospects from afar.
The bronze finally decided that it was time to start moving around. Heironeoth had found his Chosen and now wanted to let the Candidate know exactly just how lucky he was to be Impressed by as great a dragon as he himself was. Oh yes, this Candidate was incredibly lucky. Heironeoth proceeded towards His at a stately pace. No foolish rushing about for him, thank you. He'd leave that for the Greens. After all, he had a reputation to maintain. Well, ok, he had a reputation to make, but either way he still wasn't going to rush. Many boys turned eager eyes towards him as he walked towards the Candidates. He left their hopes crushed in the sand behind him, as well as one Candidate's now bloodied foot that he had been too slow to move out of the bronze's way. Heironeoth ignored them and continued towards his goal. Finally reaching the very lucky Candidate, he tried to convey to him what an honor this was for His to have been chosen by him. T'riel, I have decided that you will be mine. I am special. And now you are as well. Feed me.

When standing on all fours, his height, taken at the shoulders is, 8.75 inches.

Dam & Sire: Unknown
Hatching Scene: The dark brown flit had just hatched from his egg prison. He looked around, his multi-faceted eyes whirling in red colors. He unfurled his wings to dry them in the breeze that softly passed through the trees. He moaned as hunger was a painful hole in his stomach. He flew in search of food leaving behind the rest of his clutchmates that were yet unhatched. As he flew, he smacked into something which turned out to be a person's torso. That person took one look at him and for a miracle, food was offered to him. The dark brown snatched the food and hungrily ate. After it was gone, he dared to land on the person's outstretched hand. Looking up, he locked eyes with His as his eyes swirled in rainbow colors. He crooned a thank you but kreeled his hunger and asked for more food which His fed him. After a while, His decided upon a name for him, and the flit, now called Shadow followed after His ever since.
