History: Angel was born and raised in Japan, with his little sister. They lived a normal and productive life, happy with their parents and in school. Angel's main skills are with a computer. So much so that he can hack into anything. One time, he even hacked into a military computer complex. Completely by accident, of course.
In May of 2007 Angel and his little sister were walking along the beach, enjoying a calm day. His sister had run ahead and she was digging at something in the sand. Angel, when he reached her, found her holding a small lizard creature. With wings...
Not a moment after Angel arrived at the nest, another lizard creature appeared. This one was blue instead of the green his sister was holding. Angel had been eating a kabob of beef and pork which the blue creature then stole. Angel, not likeing the look of the creatures, hurried his little sister home. The creatures followed them.
Angel grudingly allowed the creatures to stay. The next day, however, Angel received a strange visit.
On his doorstep was a man who claimed to ride a dragon. His name was N'lon, and he wanted Angel and his little sister to come to Pern and Impress a dragon hatchling. Begged by his little sister, Angel finally gave in.
On Pern, a few days before the hatching, Angel had a disagreement with one of the weyrlings and older riders. Angel believed the riders to be full of themselves, and believed that they thought they were better than everyone else. So Angel went to N'lon. There he told the Weyrleader that he wanted to go back to Earth, that he would not stand at the hathing, and that he would leave with his sister if she did not Impress. N'lon allowed Angel to do as he wanted.
The day of the hatching came with a flurry of early morning activity. People were rushing to the Hatching Sands, Angel's sister among them. Angel took his seat in the sands and smiled encouragement to his sister. The eggs started hatching, and when the gold egg hatched Angel was happy to see that it was his sister that Impressed the young queen.
More eggs hatched, and one of the last few was a large bronze dragonet. Angel barely paid it any mind, watching his sister off to the side feed her gold. But the bronze had made a note of Angel. Refusing every Candidate on the Sands, the bronze headed for the Stands. There he struggled to climb the stone stairs, calling out piteously. Angel heard a strange voice in his mind.
Angel-mine! Your-Darth is calling you!
Angel was surprised to hear the bronze calling for him. In a daze he went and met the young dragonet, leading him off to the sides to feed him.
The years went by with little problem. His sister's gold flew her maiden flight and produced a clutch to make any gold proud. Angel and Darth flew in the fighting Wings, eventually making it up to a Wing-Second. But one day would ruin all of that for Angel.
Thread was falling over Ruatha Hold. Angel's wing was higher up than normal, and the falling Thread was thicker than usual. Angel and Darth seared one chunk of Thread, but were not fast enough to make it between before getting scored. Most of the Threadscore was over Darth's left eye.
They made it back to the Weyr, where Darth was tended by healers. But the Healers deemed that Darth would be completely blind in one eye, and no longer able to fight Thread. Angel, after talking with N'lon, agreed to go to Isle Weyr on Earth. There Darth and himself wouldn't have to worry about Thread fighting any longer.
