Defect/Injury:Erirran cannot hear dragons, he impressed before his accident, leading to his struggle to find a way to communicate with Siranith.
Appearance: E’an stands at 5’ 6” and has Red wild, shaggy hair, bright hazel green flecked eyes, and a tan complexion. A small grouping of light red freckles cover his nose and extend onto his cheeks. After coming to Rocky, his style changed moving more towards jeans and flannel button down shirts and tennis shoes, a necklace baring his families crest (A rearing lion against a blue back drop) is always around his neck and a small silver studded earring is the only other kind of jewelry he wears. He has a small dark tan birthmark on the right side of his neck that looks almost like a wine stain.

Defect/Injury:Erirran cannot hear dragons, he impressed before his accident, leading to his struggle to find a way to communicate with Siranith.
History: Erirran was born on Pern to a blue riding Father and a Green riding mother. His parents kept a close eye on their son because when he was very little he was a handful and was always getting into trouble. The boy was known for terrorizing the flitters and other animals in the weyr whenever he could get close to them. It was not until he got in serious trouble with the Weyrwomen that Erirran finaly began to calm down and behave. His life was relatively uneventful until three weeks after his birthday.
Erirran and Siranith impressed when Erirran was only 16 (Sept 1995). The pair grew close and were almost inseparable. Because of his defect Siranth had difficulties in flight and could never catch a rising dragon. Determined to help his dragon Erirran helped figure out a way to compensate for the smaller, off angled wing. They tried changing the angles of his wing strokes and the angle at which Siranith held himself during flight. The new method was awkward to get used to but effective as long as the pair focused on flying; making thread falls dangerous.
During a thread fall, their concentration slipped when wheeling dangerously low to the ground to dodge thread and E’an fell from Siranith landing hard on the ground and sustaining a terrible head injury and several broken bones as well as a punctured lung and several ruptured organs. He was found by his father and thought to be dead, however, a weak pulse was located. The pulse was fluttering as if trying to hang on but losing grip at the same time. He was rushed to the infirmary and after many long hours, E’an was patched up as best he could be, remaining unconscious.
Siranith refused to leave his riders side mind echoing guilt to all who came near him. He went so far as to threaten the dragons and riders who tried to coax him away in the beginning, gradually Siranith began to venture away waiting to feel the stirring of his rider. The Bronze dragon began to show signs of depression that his rider would not make it… he became a lonesome creature… hating to be around anyone.
After about six months, while Siranith was in the feeding grounds, E’an woke. Seranith strained his wings in getting back to his rider, guilt heavy on his mind. The first words the bronze spoke were to apologize to E’an, but something stopped the words from reaching his rider, scaring the dragon heavily.
The people in the infirmary were stumped as to why E’an had lost the ability to hear mind speak. The pair struggled to get past the injury and the cruel words of the other riders, overtime they learned to stay semi-distant and stick close to the few who remained loyal friends.
Hearing about advancements on Earth the pair left Pern, praying to find a cure or help to get around the new problem. Arriving at Rocky they found more acceptance and, thanks to the advice of several books, a simple way to communicate when hatchings and risings were occurring. If E’an focused hard he could pick up on the whispers of his Siranith’s emotions.
It was after a firelizard hatching a true method was found (November 2010), E’an’s impressed Flit, Eyri, was able to convey the dragons words through odd little chitters almost like Morse Code. The method took several months to teach to the three and at last a temporary way to communicate was reached, all thanks to one of the Earthean books.
E’an stayed at Rocky Weyr to continue researching his defect and other ways to communicate.

Physical Description: Seranth is a deep chocolate brown with a small patch of tan spots on his chest and raccoon like rings of the same light tan around his eyes. He is also of average size for a Brown at 34 feet long. His build is sleek, but muscle can still be clearly seen, but not so much were he is bulky, several thread related scars mark his left flank.
Dragon Defect/Injury: Siranith was born with a malformed left wing, it is smaller than his right and is twisted at a slightly awkward angle making flight difficult and painful.
