N'tan has thick, choppy, wavy near-black brown hair that he usually cuts to near his ears. It tends to be attractively rumpled. He has brilliant chocolatey golden-brown eyes that in low light look nearly as dark as his hair and in bright light seem to glow. His skintone is light, a tone that's nowhere near 'tan' but it is not too pale, either. He has slightly upturned, large eyes that can give a killer 'puppydog' look, a very expressive face, a snub of a nose, and slightly overlarge two front teeth that give him an endeeringly cute look. N'tan's of average height, with a thin, light, but somewhat stocky build. He's usually smiling but if he gets upset the intensity of his emotions is very clear in his eyes and etched on his face that you can't help but want to help him. N'tan definately has an expressive face, the kind of face you immediately want to trust. Under normal situations one might not notice N'tan's disabilities, but when he moves one will. His left arm is crippled so that it is unmovable past the shoulder, paralyzed from that point down, and faint scars line both arms. He speaks with a slight lisp. N'tan also broke his leg at the same time his arm was crippled, and while he can walk on it, he has a limp, and on stormy days it is painful and the limp is worse, but on good days he seems no different than anyone else. Other than that most girls find him utterly adorable. His eyes have a "puppy dog" look. He also is most often smiling, except when he's judged for his disabilities. Then he can seem like a volcano, ready to explode with fury. When Nate's happy, most peple around him see his smile and start to smile too. When he's upset, and especially if tears are falling, it's almost as if he's giving off empathic waves of some kind, because everyone around him who sees him starts getting upset, too. If he's angry, he can seem a bit scary, but N'tan's too much of a sweetheart to want to hurt anyone except in self-defence (or in one of his hero moods, to protect someone else.)

He'll defend himself, and he's not terrible at physically defending himself, but if someone he cares about is the one hurting him emotionally, Nate will just take it. He's got okay self-esteem, even seeming overconfident at times until the moment where the rug's pulled out from underneath him and he's proven wrong, at which point his spirit will crumble. He'll rely on friends for boosting his confidence. Nate is a good friend, loyal, protective, honest, helpful and cheerful. Nate's definately that, cheerful. In even the bleekest of moments he'll find a way to lighten the mood, be it a joke or making a mistake on purpose to get others to chuckle or smile. But he's usually better at hiding when he's emotionally hurt, up to a point, than one might think. N'tan is a loyal person, but sometimes he can seem a bit annoying, sort of like a puppy who keeps begging for attention. N'tan won't do that, of course, rather, he will want to spend some amount of time with any friends he makes. N'tan's a sensetive guy but he's got a harder side as well. If someone's in danger, he's likely to throw himself in there without thinking much about consequences for himself, just to defend the other person. There's alot more to N'tan than meets the eye, or the mind, at first meet or glance.
On a different note to his personality, N'tan takes anyone staring at his disabilities or talking about them very insultin and will be really put out, even angry at times. The really only things that anger N'tan are bullies and people making fun of him or judging him. He's a person with a sense of morality and honor, and if someonee's in danger he'll go right into 'hero' mode without really thinking things through. He's a very smart, bright individual, though he misses things sometimes and ends up making stupid moves. He's a bit of a geek and a dork, but a sweet and charming one. He'd never wanted to go to Pern, especially because there are no computers there. He's a techy kind of kid but he enjoys books, too. N'tan is a sci-fi/fantasy fan and he was overeager about the Dragons and dragonkin. He likes computers and anything related to technology.

Born to high-ranking government official Father, and school-teacher Mother, Nate Boltairn had a mainly ordinary life untill the year of his 4th birthday.
An arsenist- a man who disaproved of his father's policies- set fire one night to their home near the rockies, and his door became stuck closed so that his parents could not open it, though they tried.
He was severly burnt and scarred though by now all that's left of the scars is faint lines, except on his back; the damage from the flames and the beam left his left arm crippled as explained above.
He has a Lisp because the young him bit his tongue in fear. His legs were burned as well and one was broken, but it healed long ago. Because of this, sitting in one position for more than 2 hours is painful for him. The crippling of his arm and leg came from a wooden beam in their house falling on him. Firemen came to the home in time to save him from death, but he was crippled as stated.
When the Pernese first came to Earth, his father did not hear of it, nor did he after the first few years, in fact, until rocky weyr had settled a bit more. Once that happened, his father was clued in, and to Nataniel's great surprise and joy, he brought Nataniel with him on more than one occasion. Nate used to escape into fantasy worls throguh reading books and watching tv shows- and now he finds out that what he could only dream of before is real, in some way. Dragons exist! He grew more comfortable in the Weyr, and his heart turned to yearning to be able to impress one of the great Dragons-- or, at least, a fire lizard!
About a week before something even more amazing happened to him, Nataniel was walking home from school when he saw, surprisingly, what looked like 2 firelizard eggs in a shoebox near a garbage can. Thankfully, the sun was warm on the eggs, and they weren't damaged. Nate picked them up and brought them into his house. Upon showing them to his father and mother, who were surprised but not frowning upon this, the little mottled eggs began to hatch.
Nate ended up with two fire lizards: tiny blue Bubbles, and boistrous green Naray. When he turned 16, he was offered the chance to stand at the next Hatching, and he accepted happily.
N'tan impressed to Brown Baelsth and he's never been happier. Most days are a bit of a struggle, epscially bathing the Brown Weyrling Dragon, but he wouldn't have it any other way. And he still finds time to watch his sci-fi flicks, even though Baelsth doesn't have much patience for them.

Appearance: A very small firelizard, Bubbles is a light sky blue with pale periwinkle-blue circular marks on his hide, like bubbles. his build is definately for speed and he makes use of it by flying away from confrontations.
Personality: A bit of a coward, Bubble sis loyal, but his attention span tends to - Pop. Meaning, one minute he'll be concentrating and the next he'll be flyin in th ecomplete different direction. He tends to run/fly away fomr any sort of confrontations, whatever they are, and he's really a passive personality.

Appearance: Big, dark forest green color, build of a brown, quick but powerful for a green.
Personality: Boistrous, assertive, protective, loving, attached.
