IC Date: March 23, 2013 IC Time: 12 Noon
Setting: Samari's Room Samari, Gold Samarsk, Bronze Orn, & Blue Zed Samari gasped awake from her slumber. Instinct made her feel her stomach and winced when she felt her baby kick a tad too hard. She got up out of bed, trying to reach the door. As she walked, her water had broke which meant her baby was coming. Silently, she was glad that she hadn't soaked her bed, when her water broke.
Samarsk grumpily awoke as she felt Hers being in pain. She took a moment to get used with her eyesight and made her way where Hers was. Samari-Mine! You ok?! she worriedly asked her Bonded.
Samari winced when she saw Samarsk up and about. She really didn't want the Gold Wher to worry over much about her. It's okay, Love. I'm perfectly alright. I'm just about to give birth. Now be a Darling and calm down. I have to go to the Infirmary and hopefully, I'll see Kain along the way. But still, if she didn't make her way out of her room and towards the Infirmary, she'd likely give birth right there. With a determination, she waddled along the hallways, inwardly hoping that she'd catch a sight of Kain along the way.
Bronze Orn & Blue Zed fluttered around Samari and humming along the way. None of them had a mind to leave Theirs alone.
Setting: Out in the Hallways Samari persevered along the way, breathing in that special way that she was told to breathe when the time came for her to give birth. She hoped that her baby won't come out until she reached the Infirmary. As she made her way towards the Infirmary, she looked about her, wondering if she can ask a passerby to help her get to the Infirmary. She was still half-awake but she had been drilled on what to do when the time came. Now, all that mattered for her was getting to the Infirmary where she can safely have her baby.

Kain happened to be in the hallway, walking around aimlessly, when he heard someone else. It wasn't unusual. There were plenty of people that wandered around at night. But he still felt the need to check it out. He was curious.
He turned a corner and almost ran into Samari. She looked like she was in pain. Not to mention, her bottom half looked wet. Kain suddenly went pale, hurrying over to Samari's side.
"You're in labor?" He asked in a soft voice. He didn't want to stress her anymore than she probably already was.

Samari Samari couldn't reply in words as a contraction went through her belly. She just nodded in answer to Kain's question as she tried to grab at him to keep herself upright and going towards the infirmary. She did not want to have her baby out there in the hallway.
After the contraction was over, she told Kain, "Take... me... to... the... Infirmary... now." with panting breath and in a tone that brooked no arguments. She was glad that he was there. But, for the moment, all her attention was focused on keeping her baby in her stomach before they reached the infirmary.
Bronze Orn and Blue Zed still hummed at they fluttered around Theirs. They weren't as distressed as before since someone has arrived to help Theirs, but they still didn't leave Theirs alone.
((OOC: Sorry for the late reply and short post. Please get them into the Infirmary Faizah.))

Kain nodded to Samari, making sure he had a better grip on her. She was obviously in labor, and Kain had learned from Reya and Alex that contractions hurt. Her tightened grip on him told him that she wasn't as steady on her feet as she seemed, either.
He knew the Infimary was a bit of a walk, and with the way Samari looked, perhaps a walk she shouldn't be making. He considered it for a few moments, but finally said screw it. With a small huff Kain lifted Samari into his arms and began heading for the Infirmary. Silently he asked Gorth to let someone know that Kain and Samari were on their way.
The bronze dragon came through, for when Kain came into view of the INfirmary, two nurses were waiting with a wheel chair. They smiled slightly at Kain as he carried Samari, and he couldn't help but feel slightly better about it. At least Samari was in knowing hands now.

Samari Samari was not prepared when Kain unceremoniously hefted her up and onto his arms. She would have yelled and beat at him for the sudden jostle. But just then, another contraction came over her and this time, she was glad that she wasn't standing on her own two feet and just held on tight to Kain, silently praying they would get to the infirmary soon.
She was drenched in sweat, as Kain finally let her down onto the Wheel Chair. Again, she was glad for such a device for there were no such thing back in Pern. She focused on her breathing as she was wheeled away towards what she mentally called, The Birthing Room. There were nurses helping her to change out of her clothes and into a set of hospital gown. She was helped to lay onto "The Birthing Chair", Such an undignified position to be caught in, Samari thought to herself, as she waited for the doctor.
It wasn't long until a doctor came to see how far into labor she was. Another wrenching contraction came over her and she silently wondered where Kain was, as she look around trying to get her mind off of the pain in her belly. She wished it was all over, or that there would be something for the pain, but she gritted her teeth and silently endured. If she didn't see Kain soon, he was going to get a tongue-lashing from her. By the Egg! This was also his child! she fumed as she waited for the next bout of contractions, hoping that she can finally push out her baby when it came.

Kain was held back by one of the nurses, while they got Samari ready for delivery. He paced outside, worried and slightly excited all at the same time. This was going to be his third child, and he wanted to know what it would be. He had two daughters, and he couldn't decide whether he was hoping for another girl or for a boy...
Finally a nurse arrived and waved him in. He entered cautiously, watching Samari and the doctor. He walked over to her side, wondering how she was doing. After having two women bear his children, he knew labor was not an easy process.
Kain leaned down so Samari could hear him better. "How are you doing?"

Samari Samari finally heard Kain's voice. She answered before a contraction came, "Oh, fine. I'm fine. Just having a baby." she said with a grimace just as a contraction started once more. This time, the doctor said to push and so, Samari pushed with all her might. She turned red in her exertion as her hands clutched at the sides of the chair.
When the contraction was over, she stopped pushing and tried to get back her breath. She rested for the brief minute of respite. She really hoped that it would be over soon. But the baby still hasn't even shown itself. The doctor kept feeling about her stomach trying to make sure that the baby the positioned correctly and to see how far the baby has traveled down the birth canal.
Samari looked over to where Kain was, "Thanks for being here." she said softly as she attempted to take a hold of his hand. She would like to hold his hand during the ordeal if she could. And also, she kept her emotions as stable as possible. She didn't want Samarsk to come barging into the room and scare everyone away.
Samarsk Samarsk fidgeted in their weyr. She was worried for Hers. However, since Hers said she was okay, Samarsk wasn't panicking... yet. She was however, sharing the feeling that Hers was going through and Samarsk turned her attention to where Hers was now. Since Hers still seemed fine. Samarsk remained in the weyr, waiting as patiently as she could for Hers to come back.

Kain watched with a sinking stomach as Samari strained when the doctor told her to push. Her face was turning red, and it didn't look good. After the contraction she relaxed some, but Kain was still worried. He supposed he would be, considering this was the first time he had actaully been in the room when his child was born.
Kain nodded, letting Samari take hold of his hand. She needed to comfort more than he did, it seemed. Which likely wasn't far from the truth. He could only imagine what Samari was going through. And the least he could do was let her hold his hand...
Kain lookd at the doctor. "Is everything okay?" He asked.

Samari Samari clutched at Kain's hand. She felt better with him around. And as she waited for the next contraction, her focus was no longer on what was around her, but on her baby that was trying to be born. As she felt another contraction starting, Samari once more pushed with all her might. She didn't have to wait for the doctor to tell her to push, somehow she knew that she needed to push, and this time, her effort was answered when the baby's crown finally showed at the birth canal. One or two more good push should get the baby safely out of her.
The doctor looked up at the Weyrleader before answering, "She's and the baby are doing fine." The doctor felt around Samari's belly and was satisfied that the baby was positioned correctly. If Samari pushed whenever a contraction came, the baby should be out soon without too much hassle.

Kain nodded, relief rushing through him. He felt Samari clutching at his hand, but he ignored it. The baby would be born soon, and Kain was excited to see it. He leaned down, putting his lips close to Samari's ear.
"You're doing great." He told her, a smile on his face and in his tone.

Samari Samari smiled wanly as she heard Kain tell her, she was doing great. She didn't realize that giving birth was such a painful process. Still, she wouldn't have done things differently if it resulted in her and Kain having a child. As another contraction came, Samari pushed once more. This time she felt her baby coming out. There was a gush of liquid that came out to make the baby's way more slippery and the baby slipped out of Samari.
The Doctor caught the baby and quickly suctioned the baby's mouth and nasal passages. Then, the Doctor deftly clamped the umbilical cord and cut the baby away from its mother. The baby was passed to a waiting nurse with a towel. The nurse gave the baby a quick physical check and gently wiped the baby clean. Once the baby was clean, the nurse got another clean pink towel, gave the baby a hat, and the baby was placed on Samari's stomach.
Samari looked down at her baby. It was a girl. She was so tiny and Samari was glad that her baby was safely born. She curled one of her arm around her baby to secure her and looked up at Kain. Samari smiled lovingly at him as she gently said, "We have a baby girl, Arika." She wanted her baby named between them which is why she chose Arika, one of the names that she and Kain had talked about.
As Samari lay there, another softer contraction came. Her doctor noticed that the placenta had separated from Samari's uterine wall and asked her to gently push out her placenta. Samari complied with the doctor's order and she lay exhausted on the birthing chair, with her baby resting on her stomach, and Kain beside her. Despite her exhaustion, Samari stayed awake to admire her sleeping baby. She wondered what color her eyes will be. The baby's hair seemed to be black so Arika inherited Kain's hair color. Samari hoped that the baby's eye color will be green like her eyes.
Samarsk It seemed like hours until Samarsk finally felt Hers feeling relief and content. Samarsk settled down in her weyr and was content to wait for Hers patiently, now that she no longer worried about Hers.

Kain smiled as the little girl was laid on Samari's stomach. Three daughters, what he had. He couldn't believe it. He wished his mother could be here to see her three granddaughter. But she couldn't, not with the dragons still being a huge secret.
He wondered if he could get a picture of the three of them. It was the best way to go about it. He could send the pictures to his mother, and the rest of his family. Kain shook his head, turning back to Samari and Arika. She was a pretty little girl.
"She is gorgeous." Kain said, nodding as Samari smiled at him.
Kain, too, was curious what the girl's eye color would be. Brown, like his? Or maybe green, like Samari. If her eyes were green, she and Cristina would be almost identical. He chuckled slightly at that. His girls were amazingly similiar.
