They were alive. They were still on Earth. His wife and children were safe.
The Pernese could not take issue with them, could not put pressure on them to put the twins in some kind of creche. And although many people had died, Earth was...okay. Not safe, no, but okay.
All of that gave Tad too much energy. The pre-Kimath Tad would have gone riding to burn it off. The post-Kimath Tad...went riding.
The blue winged his way above the Weyr. Their secrecy would not last much longer, could not. Different stars, same moon, different sun. The deaths, the issues with technology.
The deaths, and he somehow knew there would be more. Or rather, some instinct of Kimath's seemed to say so.
Which meant...Thread, likely. But for right now, Tad refused to worry. His children would grow up here, would bond dragons in their time, and everything was going to work out. He knew it was going to work out.
And Kimath felt the same way, suddenly throwing himself into aerobatic maneuvers that, were their minds not linked, would have thrown Tad even worse into the straps securing him to the saddle. As it was, he laughed out loud.
"Crazy dragon!"
And as simple-minded as Kimath was, he was still dang good in the air. Dang good.
