((This is a copy of the notice that had been posted all over the Weyr.)) ATTENTION WEYRLINGS Your first lesson will be held a week from today(insert date). All of you are expected to attend and refusal to do so without a medical excuse will result in punishment. We will meet in the dining hall at 2pm. Do not be late. Do not bring your beasts. Bring notepaper if you feel it necessary. Weyrlingmaster L'gar of Brown Zedoreth L'gar was hunched over the head table of the dining hall, glaring at the wide open double doors. An array of medical supplies was laid out before him, organized in a rather random order. The rest of the tables had been pushed against the walls and the benches had been pulled into the center of the large room to face him. With a huff he prodded his dragon's mind, finding the lazy beast lounging on his weyrledge. Your mind is like a lusty wherry, Mineheart. Calm. They come.L'gar could not hear them yet, of course; only a dragon had ears for that. But the man hoped dearly that his brown was right, for the sake of the weyrlings. He had put up the notices a sevenday ago, and he'd made an announcement during lunch one day after that.. something he had loathed doing. Be still! There is still some sun poking from between the clouds and I wish to soak it up. Look to that timer they have. I bet they've got some yet. L'gar snarled and flicked his eyes up to the large clock above the entrance way. By his crude reading of the device the surly man found that the younglings did have five minutes left until their scheduled meeting, yet it only made him further annoyed. Everything on this planet was so immediate and easier than on Pern. He rather missed the simplicity. And then there were footsteps.. --- Roll CallKiana of Gold CalethMiyuki of Gold FaeythDivka of Gold LaskathShinji of Bronze WrathLawrence of Bronze ElonverrilthTaylor of Bronze AyrayithLiam of Brown SkirthLyrah of Brown KyrinthTahli of Blue RelanthKu'rt of Blue AricothVincent of Blue GaspethWynn of Blue Carloth Hy'ka of Blue/Green BrynathTag of Blue/Green HalderothNakia of Green/Gold IsathLiAnne of Green JayrisithShasta of Green QuithLogan of White Odiketh

Tahli was dashing into the kitchen area when she slipped and almost face planted into the tile. She coughed and got up as quickly as possible.
"Ow..."
She saw L'gar waiting at the head table and blushed in embarrassment. "Greetings Weyrlingmaster L'gar...Sorry if I'm late." She pulled out her notepad and a pencil and sat at a bench.
Relanth pushed a thought of encouragement her way.
"Do not fret, Minelove. You'll be fine."

If we don't hurry, LiAnne, we'll be late for lessons. Jayrisith commented offhandedly. She was stretched out beside the river while LiAnne, her rider, sat cleaning a shotgun a few meters away. Do you really need to be doing that right now?
"If I don't, it will get very filthy." She replied. The gun had belonged to her father and he had treated the weapon with care. While there was no reason to have one, Anne kept all of her possessions secured in her room. Maybe, in the future, there would be need for a gun though she didn't know when.
"Well, time to go," LiAnne spoke as she leaped to her feet. Jayrisith followed the teenager back to the Weyr. A quick detour allowed the pair to drop off the shotgun and other unneeded materials before heading off to class. When they arrived, Tahli of Blue Relanth and Taylor of Bronze Ayrayith were already present. The Bronzeweyrling waved pleasantly and pulled LiAnne into a hug.
She mock-punched his arm as he jumped away. "Don't think being a Bronzer will save you, Tay. I know your weakness." LiAnne hissed and wiggled her fingers like she would at a child. Ayrayith, watching through his rider's eyes, confulsed with laughter. LiAnne sure knows how to fend you off, Taylor. The Bronze snickered.
"Hello, WeyrlingMaster L'gar. LiAnne of Green Jayrisith present." She bowed to the Brownrider before taking a seat at one of the tables.

Tahli looked up at the two weyrlings that had entered the hall. She waved to them and smiled. She was kind of nervous, this being her first lesson on Earth. She didn't know how these others would react. She was so used to being scowled at because of Relanth's fear.
"Mine, do not be so...down. This is not High Reaches. No one knows about the trouble I caused on Pern. Relax."

Oh, oh, oh! I am going to be late, late, late! Do i have what i need, Mine? could you list the things off for me? Shasta was always afraid she was missing something. As she jogged to the Hall she fretted, wondering if she would be able to remember everything. She did want to do well, after all. Quith sighed at Hers mentally. The bulletin, which you read out loud about five times, said you only needed a pencil and paper. if you wanted them. A pause, as if thinking of what to say next. No need to worry, Mine. You will do fine. The dragon sent Shasta reassuring thoughts and then went back to what she had been doing, which was sniffing at the silly creatures in the feeding pen. You're the best, thanks. Oh, im almost there! As she finished her thought, she rushed into the Main Hall where a few of the weyrlings and the Weyrlingmaster were already seated. She turned to look at the clock and seeing that she had four and a half minutes to spare, let herself relax a little. She turned back to where everyone was and timidly found a seat. But then, in a spurt of respect-is-greater-than-fear, and despite his dower appearance, she turned to the weyrlingmaster and said, "Thank you very much for being willing to teach us, sir. I appreciate it very much." With that her nerves got the best of her and she turned back to face her note pad.

There was a rather loud yelp as two figures stumbled into the dining hall; one pink-haired girl being forcibly dragged by a laughing boy with a rather vibrant mohawk.
"Shinjiroooo! Nii-san, let me go, I'm perfectly capapble of walking on my own!" Miyuki complained in her native language, shoving her brother's arms away. She shot him a dirty look and straightened out her skirt, then huffed at Shinji and stared, waiting for him to apologize.
He didn't. "Miyu, sister, my darling, how can I be at fault because you were late?" He said, this time in english. "And speak in their language; they will think we're elitist commies or something."
"Here's english for you; Fall in a ditch." Miyuki muttered, but she smiled and resigned herself to her fate; Shinji was annoying, but a glance at the clock showed he was right; they would have been late. But still. Picking her up and tossing her over his shoulder was hardly polite. She punched him lightly and wandered away to greet the pair of riders laughing rather familiarly over there.
Shinji just shook his head as his little sister sulked, and glanced around to see who'd already made it. No one he really recognized, but he'd also spent the last few days in his weyr with Wrath; the bronze had flipped out again and refused to allow him to leave- he'd tried to, once, and the panic coming from Wrath's pleading mind to not be abandoned had nearly made him pass out. The terror and rage that seemed to constantly fill his dragon were seriously taking a toll on Shinji...he was just glad today that Wrath was on tranquilzers, and was sleeping fitfully for the ime being.
"Oh!" Shinji had been looking around, and not paying attention to where he was walking; he'd tripped and fallen backwards over a bench, landing neatly sprawled on his back over the girl with the notepaper. That was new. "Ouch. Hello there. Not the entrance I had been hoping for, but it will do. I'm Shinjiro!" He looked in the other direction and spotted the cheerful girl he'd met before. "Good morning, Shasta!"
Miyuki heard the crash, and glanced over he shoulder at the boy. "Baka..." She hissed softly. "I swear, he does that on purpose." She said, turning to the big man nearby. "You are...Taylor, is that correct? And...LiAnne. Good morning to you both."

Tahli made a half-strangled squeak when Shinji basically plopped on her.
"Oof! Hi, Shinjiro..I'm Tahli..Owwww my side!"
Relanth prodded her mind from his favorite spot by the lake.
"Mine, are you alright? I feel pain coming from you. Did something happen?"
"Yes, I am fine. I had a purple haired boy fall on me just now. I kinda like him already. Spunky."
She had been doodling in her notepad. It was a picture of her blue and Brown flit, sitting under a tree.

Divka sat with her gold Laskath, scribbling some notes in a notepad while she basked in the sun. She glanced absentmindedly at her watch then took a second glance and frowned. "Oh dear. It appears we're going to be late Dear One." Her dragon sent her unhappy, sleepy thoughts and quietly grumbled. Divka patted her hide goodnaturedly. "Come on you lazy flit. Lets go. Ill never make it in time if you dont help." With a big huff of air, Laskath unfurled her wings and waited for Divka to hop on. I dont suppose we can just learn it all on our own, can we? Divka laughed softly. "No Dear One. We cannot." she said as she grabbed her backpack holding her normal kimono and hopped on Laskath. Laskath took off, soon arriving at the designated spot. Divka quickly found a private area so she could strip off her riding clothes and slip into her kimono, then walked with Laskath to meet the other riders. "I apologize for being late. We got rather distracted by the sun's warmth." She murmured quietly, looking around to see who else arrived. Meanwhile Laskath left Hers to her lesson and decided to go back to sunbathing.
Vincent howled in pain as his Lady crawled her way up his shirt. Are you ok Mine Rider? Gaspeth asked, a hint of a laugh in his voice. Vincent grumbled and finally extracted Lady from his shirt. She flitted above him, scolding him. Vincent gave a pained sigh and turned to his dragon. "What say you we both skip lessons and go flying?" Gaspeth gasped in horror! And miss all the wonderful things we might learn? I dont think thats wise Dear One. Vincent grumbled. "Well, it was worth a shot." he muttered and hopped onto Gaspeth. "Well, get on with it then. Might as well get it over with as soon as possible." Gaspeth rolled his eyes, and bugled happily as he took to the air. I cant wait to start lessons! I wonder how many other dragons we will meet? Do you think any of them will wish to be friends? Maybe there will a bronze there! Do you think... Vincent sighed to himself, but listened affectionately as his dragon pestered him with questions the rest of the way to the lesson. "Shoo now!" Vincent scolded his dragon. "Ill tell you about the lesson after its over." Sighing sadly, Gaspeth nodded. Ill be flying then, Dear One.

Tahli looked to the other girl who had entered wearing a Kimono. She didn't make a move to push Shinji out of her lap. Then again, She really couldn't, she was pinned!
"Oof! Hello red-haired lady, I am Tahli of Blue Relanth, may I ask who you are?"
Relanth mentally chuckled.
"Minesoul, are you not wanting to push the purple haired lad from your lap? Sometimes you are so confusing."

Divka looked at the strange girl who had spoken to her and smiled. "Hello. My name is Divka, rider of Gold Laskath. May I ask what you are doing?" She asked politely, looking at her curiously.
I hope the lessons dont take all day Minelove. She heard her dragon grumble in her head and chuckled softly.

Tag practically exploded into the room, talking a mile a minute at Liam, who simply looked tired. "Do you ever stop talking?" Liam muttered softly, though there was nothing but affection in his tone. He glanced around the room; he wasn't familiar with most of the other weyrling...well, Divka, he sort of remembered. He sighed inwardly; jusdging by the others, though, he was still older than almost everyone but their Weyrling Master.
Tag spun in a circle, trying to both give Liam a confused look and look about the room at the same time. He ended up just looking strange. "Huh? Whatddaya mean?" He said, finishing his circle looking over his shoulder at Liam.
"I mean I pity the vampire who gets you in the end." Liam remarked with a sly smirk. "Your blood ,must be pure caffiene. Speaking of which, I wonder if there's coffee..."
Tag just made a face, satisfied with the surprisingly uncaffinated orange juice he'd had earlier. "Ew. You and coffee. Fine. But I'm gonna be over here, thanks." He said, waving a hand at the benches lined up. "I hope Hal's okay..." I am sleeping. Today is the first in a long string of days where I have not been dragged out to socialize, Kenneth. I shall enjoy the solitude... Don't call me that!!! And fine, whatever. You are so antisocial. Just keep Tiggy entertained. I think she's still pissy from Reyna's flight. As you wish. I shall keep my beautiful queen company for the afternoon. At this, Tag recieved a mental image of the little gold flit crooning happily as Halderoth fawned over her, and Tiggy sent her human happy bubbles of pink and green thoughts.

"Hi, Shinji! Long time no see." Shasta exclaimed happily at the sight of her friend. Smiling shyly due to the large number of people, she gave a little wave. "How are you today? i see you have made a new friend." Her smile grew a little bit at his outgoing-ness.
By now five others had entered as well. How many more can we have! She wondered to herself. She hadn't realized that quite so many had come to call this Weyr home. She recognized most of them, however, so it wasn't as imposing as it could have been.
Shasta glanced at the instructor to see if the lesson was beginning. He didn't appear to be getting ready to say something, so she went back to chatting.

Lyrah ran swiftly toward the Main Hall, trying her best to be as close to 'on time' as she could. She panted, and put on an extra burst of speed as she reached it, then swerved into the dining hall, slowing down dramatically. She slid to a stop, and brushed herself off.
She calmly walked toward the Weyrlingmaster, L'gar, and introduced herself. "I'm Lyrah. My dragon is Brwon Kyrinth. I'm very sorry if I am late, sir."
She could feel Kyrinth's amusement. Well, dearest, I don't think you will be in trouble.
Oh, be quiet Kyrinth!
She shook her head, and took a notepad and pen out of her ever present satchel. She sat straight and calm near the front.

Shinji seemed to jerk back into action, leaping clear of the girl he'd landed on. "Oh! Forgive me! I am so sorry." He apologized hurriedly, bowing every so often.
"Tahli of Relanth. And...Divka of...Laskath? And, well, allow me to interrupt. I would have no idea what she was doing, but I hope whatever it was is easier without being crushed." He went sort of red in the face, and laughed nervously. "Sorry once again. But. Um. Formally, I am Shinji of Bronze Wrath." Distracted once more, he leaned over the bench. "These are very good..." He said, voice softer as he glanced at the drawings on the notepad. "Yours?"
His ever-unfocused brain switched to Shasta, and he winked at her. "And we meet again."

Laska looked at the two people, the one who got squished and the one who squished her. Since they seemed to have lost interest in her, she moved to a seat in the middle of the room and continued writing notes in her notepad with the occasional doodle on the side. Is it over yet Love? she heard her dragon complain and chuckled quietly to herself. Patience Dear One. We havent even started yet.

Nakia left Isath to her sleepy sunning, making her way with reluctance to the first weyrling lesson. Truthfully she couldn't stand L'gar, but Faizah said she had to go or else she would be grounded as L'gar personal assistant. Faizah always knew what to do to get Nakia's attention and obediance. When Nakia entered the room she liked that there were so many other weyrling there. Without a second thought she went up to a boy with a purple Mohawk and boldly introduced herself. "Hello, my nameis Nakia, of Green/Gold Isath. You are?"

Finally! They were arriving! L'gar straightened slightly as the first weyrling entered the room and.. tripped over her own feet. The brownrider resisted the urge to groan at the clumsy female, especially when prodded by Zedoreth to be kind.
"That's alright. You're fine." He said with a nod, and a faint smile as she sat down. He made similarly content gestures towards the next two weyrlings that came in. However, the brother and sister that entered next we're being quite loud, which would usually bristle the brownrider's feathers, but again Zed stepped in.
Do not, Mine. They are excited for their lesson. Do you not remember our first? You were quite the jittery little firelizard.
L'gar smiled nostalgically and sighed. You're right again, Zed. As usual. He replied to the brown, with a loving tone. A smug yet affectionate feeling radiated back from the big beast, and L'gar reluctantly turned his attention back to the incoming students.
Not surprisingly, one of the stranger looking weyrlings actually fell on another, and L'gar just looked on with a very subtle expression of bemusement. As long as their clumsiness wasn't eating into his lesson time, they could stumble all they liked.
Four more weyrlings made their entrance, the fifth making a formal introduction. "That's alright, Lyrah. You're on time." He said with a pleasant nod and a gesture towards the benches.
A dark haired girl and an overly prim dressed young man quickly made their way in and sat down towards the back without any fuss, clearly understanding that they had just barely made the correct time.
Flicking his eyes up towards the clock above the door, L'gar realized that it was finally time for his lesson to begin! He stood up just as one last weyrling found her way in. The brownrider looked over his students, hoping to see at least some of them paying attention to his actions. Some of them might have noticed, but not all. L'gar then clapped his large hands together loudly, cutting through the chatter like a knife.
"Alright, weyrlings! The lesson will begin now. Please find your own seats.." L'gar put extra emphasis on the phrase as he looked mischievously towards Shinji. "..and two of you please close the doors. I don't want any distractions."
Once the doors had been closed, L'gar waited for those two students to return to their seats before speaking. "So, as you might have guessed by this display.." He said clearly, gesturing to the array of medical supplies on the table before him. "..we're here to learn about medical procedures you may need to use on your dragons, or yourselves if you should need to. Obviously there is no Threadfall to harm your precious dragons here on Earth, which is a fact that you should be quite grateful for, despite the other reasons you might have been sent here.
"Usually, on Pern, these lessons would be given to each clutch as they hatched so that all of the weyrling dragons would be the same age. Clearly, that is not the case here, so some of you may have already learned the information in the next few lessons. This does not mean that you can skip out on lessons or not pay attention. Also, because of each of your dragons' unique problems, I may need to pull some of you aside for a one on one, to better pinpoint your beast's particular needs. Is that clear so far?" He asked finally, pausing until the weyrlings responded with either a 'yes' or nodding.
"Excellent. Now we can move onto the actual lesson." L'gar said, clearly a bit more energetic than he was while lecturing them all. "Here we have an assortment of both Pernese and Earthian medicinal tools that can be used on both rider and dragon. I would like to all come up in an orderly fashion, and take a good look at these items. Once you have a good grasp of what is up here, I want you to form a line starting at the end of the table, and wrapping back around the benches to the doors. One by one you will quietly tell me what items you would use to treat.." He paused to think of an ailment for just a moment, his eyes wandering around the room, and then back to the weyrlings. "..a deep laceration on the bottom of your dragon's foot. The cut was caused by another animal, but your dragon cannot remember what species it might have been. Please begin." He said with a slight smirk, watching first as the weyrlings came up to inspect the items.
((If you're the first to reply, your character would be first in line to answer the question, and so on. Everyone will post their guesses before L'gar lets them know if they're right or not. If you feel your character would know a good deal about first aid or has a lot of common sense, feel free to look up the treatment of this sort of injury online. Please be realistic with your character's knowledge though. xD Also note, there are a wide variety of herbs, creams, liquids, syringes, etc. available to choose from, from both Pern and Earth. However, there are no electronic devices. This exercise is meant to show what your weyrling could do with the basic medical supplies in the Weyr, especially those that would come in a basic first aid kit. Have at it! :D))

Tahli stood up and walked up to L'gar and smiled brightly. She had used the thing she was about to answer with before.
"If you have it on hand, Henna is good to stop bleeding and disinfects cuts, and you could use waterproof medical tape and gauze to help protect it."
Relanth mentally cheered for Tahli.
"That was a good answer, Tahli!"

Lyrah scanned the assorted instuments and medicinary lotions, tonics and such. '....a deep laceration on the bottom of your dragon's foot. The cut was caused by another animal, but your dragon cannot remember what species it might have been....' With those words buzzing in her mind, she spotted the things she would need if the occasion ever arose for her and Kyrinth.
"I would need cleaning alchohol to clean the wound. It can also help to stop the bleeding, and thick guaze to pad it and soak up any blood that might seep from the wound afterward. Use a strip of strong cloth to bind it tightly afterward."
Sure, Lyrah looked up at L'gar. She was one of those who had already learned this. There were many other waves, but the clear liquor would suffice on either Earth or Pern if ever the need arose.
Well said Lyrah, murmured Kyrinth from where he sat, sunning himself in the warm sunlight.

The notice posted around the weyr had not been ignored by Ku’rt. He dutifully read it, and made a mental note to report to the lesson, hopefully on time. Clocks, as the Pernese weyrling soon learned, were a useful tool to have. Normally a dragon would bugle to signal a lesson, but nope, here, one was given the time and place of the lesson. You were then expected to show up on time. Ku’rt had wondered to how he would know the right time, two in the afternoon, until a kind passerby (after stopped by Ku’rt) told him the function of the mechanical faces.
It was now nearing said time and Ku’rt glanced over at where Aricoth was resting, paddling in a slow, small circle in the lake. “It’s about time to go, Aricoth. The lesson is going to start soon. You ready?” he asked the pale blue dragon. At the sound of the weyrling’s voice, the blue’s head twisted around to look at His with milky-white eyes. The dragon paused in his swim, floating among the low waves.
I am ready, Ku’rt. Will the other weyrlings be there? he asked, though he already knew the answer. Green flitter Luna sat atop Aricoth’s head, and it was the fire lizard’s directing that helped the blue to a safe path out of the lake, and over to where Ku’rt was waiting.
“Of course. It’s a weyrling lesson--not a private lesson.” Ku’rt chuckled, and patted the blue’s foreleg, seeing as the blue was growing larger, and was towering over Ku’rt, compared to when they first arrived. “But come on, we have to get to the main hall for this lesson, Aricoth.” Ku’rt stood up from his comfy spot in a rock, and cast a quick look around the lake. There were a few dragons with their riders, but no weyrlings. Oh, save for Hy’ka and Brynath. “Aricoth, let Brynath know that the lesson is going to start soon.”
With a low whine, Aricoth obliged. Brynath, the lesson is going to start. Mine tells me to tell you this. We should head on over.
Thank you, Aricoth! I will tell Mine that we need go. Hy'ka. Aricoth tells me that the lesson will start soon. We need to go so that we are not late. Shouldn't you be watching the time...? Brynath scolded Hy’ka, who had fallen asleep on the shore of the lake. The weyrling’s lower half was gently lapped at by waves, soaking through his pants. Brynath nudged Hy’ka’s shoulder.
“Mmm.. Lesson time, Brynath?” Hy’ka commented, stirring slightly. He half-rolled over and stretched, enjoying the afternoon sun on his face. Then he sat up with a jolt. “Lesson? Oh shards!” Hy’ka scrambled up, shaking out his legs. Water droplets sprayed all around the immediate area. Brynath snorted as a few drops flecked across his snout. The blue dragon looked annoyed, but not at the water.
Yes, Hy'ka dear. We have a lesson today. Shall we get going?
“Good idea, Brynath!” Hy’ka stretched on last time before waving to Ku’rt and Aricoth from across the lake. “Come on, my silly dragon. Let’s get to the lesson.” Hy’ka followed Ku’rt’s idea, and jogged around the lake to reach the younger weyrling. “Thank you for that wake-up call, Ku’rt. I had fallen asleep!” Hy’ka patted the blue weyrling on the back, as both weyrlings made their way to the main hall.
Ku’rt grinned up at Hy’ka. “Yeah, it’s a nice day out, right? Too bad we have to spend it in a lesson. At least it’ll be a good lesson. Hopefully,” he added as an afterthought. On their way to the main hall, Ku’rt noticed another weyrling who had yet to go to the lesson. He was lounging just outside in the weyr bowl, as if debating to go to the lesson or not. Lawrence of bronze Elonverrilth… Ku’rt had heard of him. He could be temperamental, but Ku’rt had heard from Aricoth that his bronze was easy to talk to. “Shall we pull in Lawrence as well?” Ku’rt wondered out loud, even though he knew what he was going to do.
“Oh why not?” Hy’ka smirked, and followed Ku’rt to where Lawrence lounged. They were going to be slightly late to their lesson, but that’s okay… Can’t leave out one weyrling, can they? Leaving behind Brynath, and Aricoth, who now had both Kivral and Luna on his head, Hy’ka came up from behind, and likewise Ku’rt did the same. “Come on, Lawrence, you can’t be late for the weyrling lesson!” Hy’ka grabbed onto Lawrence’s right arm, while Ku’rt grab hold of his left.
Taken by surprise, Lawrence was quick to retaliate. His eyes narrowed, and he glared daggers at his fellow weyrlings. He didn’t care much for the lesson. It was like school, and he didn’t like school. He had planned on making a trip to the infirmary with Elonverrilth to get out of it, but it seems that plan was disrupted by a pair of do-gooders. “Nng! Let me go. I’ll go to the lesson when I want to!” He struggled against the pair, but combined they were too much for him. The bronze Elonverrilth came from around the corner, and jumped to attention at the sight of His being attacked.
Elonverrilth growled slightly, but he had heard Lawrence’s thoughts before. Lawrence, we are going to the lesson. I'm not going to let you get out of this. Elonverrilth turned to Brynath and Aricoth, the latter of the two shrunk from the unseen attention. At least tell yours to be careful? Satisfied with Brynath’s nod, the bronze stepped aside to allow Lawrence to be dragged over to the main hall. They were certainly late now, but that didn’t matter as long as Lawrence didn’t skimp out on the lesson. Tolerating the look that Brynath gave him, Elovnerrilth proceeded the odd group to the main hall.
The door was closed, but after being assured that Hy’ka could handle Lawrence, Ku’rt dropped his hold on the bronze weyrling’s arm to run forward and open the door. Elonverrilth waited, sitting on his haunches, to allow Ku’rt through, then helped Hy’ka nudge the unwilling Lawrence through the doorway.
“Sorry we’re late!” Hy’ka decided to declare to the group of weyrlings, letting go of Lawrence. He wasn’t going to run away now, since they were seen by the Weyrling Master. However, an awkward silence greeted Hy’ka as he stared at the line of weyrlings. Behind him, Brynath snorted out a low, draconic chuckle.
Have fun at the lesson, Hy'ka. I will be outside, waiting for you to finish. Brynath moved away from the door, helping the blind Aricoth in the process. Will you join us, Elonverrilth? Brynath invited the bronze, unofficially announcing that Aricoth was to be hanging out with the blue-green as well.

Nakia thought for a moment, using a very typical move before she answered. She listened to what the others had to say, especially those that came from Pern, before she made her own descision and answered.
"You could disinfect the wound with this," Nakia held up a bottle of rubbing alcohol as she spoke. "and then smear some antibotic cream on it to keep infection out and treat it if already infected. Then you would put gauze on it and use a sturdy wrap to wrap the wound to keep anything else from getting in, and keep the gauze on the wound."
Nakia wasn't entirely sure that she was right, but based on her common-sense and the answers of others, she thought it a reasonable answer.

Lessons- for some, a welcome distraction from aimless exploration, for others, a reminder of the schooling they'd escaped by impressing their dragons. And for some others, an unwelcome reminder of just how much they'd hated school to begin with.
Tag was being his very usual and rather annoying self; hardly able to sit still, slightly jittery, and easily distracted. He was paying attention, he really was, but he was currently sort of scribbling tiny circles on a peice of paper to keep himself from doing something more annoying.
Tag and Liam glanced at eachother as their instructor spoke, and instructed them to stand in the lovely line, Liam smiling wickedly and making a half-bowing gesture that clearly indicated Tag should go first in line.
"Coward." Tag whisprered, elbowing the brownrider in the side as he passed. "You just don't want to look like a moron."
"Quite true." Liam snickered, dodging the second elbow-attack. "No need to be violent-" He glanced up as the doors were thrown wide, and three other weyrlings cmae in, albeit somewhat late. A blueweyrling he sort of recognized, and Hy'ka- really, who would not remember that man? And...a somewhat more sullen-looking rider he didn't recognized, but who Tag whispered was probably the bronze weyrling who;d gotten into that fight in the infirmary a while back.
Liam just raised an eyebrow at Tag. "You're a terrible gossip." "Not true; Tiggy just likes to eavesdrop."
Tag was the next in line- how had that happened? He glanced over the asorted tools somewhat nervously, not wanting to sound like a complete idiot. "Uh...well, a lot of people have said gauze and ointment and stuff...I guess... If you though it could be anything infectious, or if the wound was still too open, you'd wipe it down with something like a sterilizing agent, then bandage it as normal."
He continued to peer at the various medicinal items, then pointed at a strange thick plant he recognized from Pern. "That stuff...it's like a painkiller. You'd use that if the injury was really hurting them." He shrugged, and stepped back, about done with any of the bits of knowledge he was comfortable with.
Just behind Tag, Liam paused to think, then spoke almost boredly. "Even if the cut is from an animal or local species, it never hurts to check the injury for debris or dirt- make sure it's clean and sterile before binding it. Then, I guess, there's a few ways to treat it, but the most common would be to assure there's no swelling in the affected area, the bind it to keep pressure on the injury if it's still bleeding. I don't know much past that..."

((Everyone continue posting answers. just wanted L'gar to address the latecomers really quick. ^-^))
The first two weyrlings gave decent answers and he nodded them on with a smile. Before the third could answer however, the doors of the dining hall burst open to three more weyrlings. One quickly announced their apologies, while another looked not at all pleased to be there. A deep frown overcame L'gar's features as he eyed the children. "Don't let it happen again." As the disruptors got into line, L'gar paused and then looked to the next weyrling to answer.
The blonde had a good answer and L'gar nodded to her as she went back to her seat. The next student's answer included numbweed, which delighted L'gar to no end. "Good, good." He said grinning and nodding approval. The lad after the Perneseian gave a similarly good answer and L'gar nodded happily and awited the next student.
