It was a cold night with a fresh inch of snow on the ground. The night sky was cloudless and there was a full moon out tonight. It was a wonderful time to be out if rather chilly.
The Mating instinct came upon Samarsk quite suddenly in the dead of night. She and Hers had been out taking a leisurely walk through the woods that were near the Weyrbowl. It was the sight of a hare flushed out of its burrow that made Samarsk go from mild-mannered to vicious. Of a sudden, Samarsk lunged ahead with her mating call ringing aloud in the silence shocking Samari in the process. Samarsk turned back at Samari her hide glowing golden in the dark night and her eyes whirling red in the heat of mating instinct.
Samarsk must feed. was all Samarsk said before she bounded off again towards the feeding grounds. The chill of the night ignored as her body felt heated up. Her emotions churning as her body demanded that she mate.
Samari may have noticed the warning signs that Samarsk was close to running her first Run, especially given the golden glow that Samarsk recently got and the wher's irritability. Samari may have been weyr-bred and all that but still, this took her by surprise. One moment she was being accompanied by her beloved Samarsk, the next, it was as if a stranger possessed her beloved. It took a moment before Samark's remark penetrated Samari's shocked mind before Samari pressed on her golden wher not to eat the meat. She began to run towards the feeding grounds hoping to catch up with
Before Samarsk could reach the feeding grounds, an unfortunate deer decided to cross her path and before the deer could surmise its misfortune, Samarsk had pounced on the hapless deer, savagely biting its neck and shaking it violently to and fro. The deer fought for its life to no avail, the bite and the continuous shaking resulted in its demise.
Samari saw with unbelieving eyes as Samarsk savagely killed the deer. But training ruled out and she pushed at Samarsk making the gold drink the blood but not eat the meat.
Blood only Samarsk. Don't eat the meat. You'll be too full and heavy to run. Samari said as she pushed her will onto Samarsk.
Samarsk growled in irritation and snapping her jaws in the air between them as Hers dominated Samarsk's will into just drinking the blood that the deer offered. She slurped viciously at the offering and when she drained the deer dry, she was running off towards the feeding grounds once more. She needed to have her energy to Run and win herself a worthy mate. The meat would have ensured her endurance but Hers had dominated her will and with a frustrated roar, called another challenge to those that would attempt to chase her.
Samari felt relief as she was able to make Samarsk only drink the blood. But her hold was tenuous at best and she didn't know if she could dominate Samarsk's will again when the wher managed to make another kill. She wiped the sweat from her brow as she once more ran to catch up with Samarsk. The chill didn't bother her at all for she felt flushed and heated as some of Samarsk's emotion trickled down through their bond.
(OOC: Not really sure where to start this. But hopefully I posted this in the right place. Unless of course our dear admins will create a forum that would be used solely for Dragon Mating Flights and Wher Mating Runs.)
EDIT: I just had to add that this is a Clutching Run and a Maiden Run. ^_^

Iggent lay lazily in the cool snow attempting to make what the Earth people had described as snow angels. He wasn't having much luck because every time he finished one, his cheeky Iggesk would conveniently swipe his tail or roll over onto the snow masterpiece. Looking over at his wher, Iggent noticed that Iggesk seemed to have his attention elsewhere. Iggent grinned and got up as sneakily as he could. When he was completely upright, Iggent was able to look down at the slightly lopsided thing. As Iggesk turned and noticed his handler basking in a triumphant moment, the Bronze wher made ready to destroy the snow wing thing again.
Iggesk froze when he heard the call of the Gold. Samarsk's voice rang out in an ancient mating call. Forgetting all about his desire to tease Iggesk, Iggent bounded off towards the direction of the feeding grounds. He needed to bloody and prepare himself for the Run.
---
Iggent knew immediately when his Bronze felt the call of the Gold. He could feel his Bronzes need and fierce desire run through him. There was only one Gold who could possibly be running now.
I have to find Samari.

When Samarsk arrived at the feeding grounds, she homed in on the nearest pen which held sheep. Jumping over the wooden fence post, she quickly caught and killed an old dam. She was all set into biting the warm flesh of the sheep when she felt Hers once more dominating her will. She roared in frustration at being bested again as she lapped at the blood oozing from the sheep. She was contemplating of taking down another kill but mating lust hit and with a taunting call to the Weyr's bronzes, she ran pell-mell away from the feeding grounds back up to where Hers was still trying to catch up to her. In a few seconds, she was completely free from Hers' domination and running downhill towards towards the lake. A run through the shallow waters of the lake shore might be a good idea to cool up her heated hide. She looked about her noting the heat signatures and not minding that she saw them only in a flat version. There were few males at the weyr and Samarsk wondered who would catch her at her maiden Run. She was not about to make things easy for the males as she changed her stride to a lazy run conserving her energy for when she really needed it.
Samari thanked Faranth that she was able to once more dominate Samarsk's will and made the Gold wher to just blood her second kill. She was panting a little as she ran towards the feeding grounds only to be passed, by a speeding Samarsk on her way towards... well, Samari wasn't really sure. She was sweating and her body felt overly sensitive. She had shrugged off her jacket and sighed as a cool breeze caressed her skin. She could feel Samarsk's heated body being cooled by the breeze as Samarsk ran. Samari faced towards the direction where Samarsk was headed wondering if she should follow or not. And on the wings of that thought, she wondered where all the males where. This was her maiden Run with Samarsk and she could see no males present. She huffed irritated at the absence of males about her and turned around towards the weyr intending to catch herself a male. She left the jacket where she dropped it, her mind focused on her goal but her eyes had the glazed look of someone caught in a mating lust.

Iggesk reached the feeding grounds and lunged for a small herdbeast. It went down easily, and Iggesk wasted no time in draining it dry. He didn't have much time so the one large beast would have to do. Lifting his red muzzle from his kill, Iggesk cast about for the Gold. When he spotted her towards the lake, the Bronze took off at a sprint. There were currently no other males in sight, and he wanted to keep it that way.
---
Iggent growled at Iggesk's actions. His wher had to go and be the only Bronze in the vicinity at the moment. Not that it mattered. Iggesk had somewhat of a soft spot for the Gold Samarsk anyway.
Where is that girl?
Iggent couldn't help but be a little disgruntled. His wher's emotions were making him a little warm and impatient.

Samarsk picked up her speed a little as she heard running from behind her. Turning back to take a look, she saw Bronze Iggesk and a trill of pleasure coursed through her. Of all the whers in the Weyr, and there were not that many, Iggesk was by far her favorite. She slowed a little, taunting the Bronze to catch her right then and there and tauntingly saying,
Bronze catch?
And before she could hear Iggesk make a reply, Samarsk was off running through the shallow waters of the lake shore splashing water everywhere and was heading near the woods. She dodged the trees as she ran through and taking a wide left turn, circled back angling towards boulders and deftly climbing over them. She looked behind her to see if Iggesk was able to keep up with her. She was pleased with herself for having been able to run through what she thought was a worthy obstacle. After all, she managed the feat without banging her head into trees or tripping on the boulders. She roared daring the bronze to best her skill.
Samari finally spotted what looked to be a man on the far side of the weyrbowl. She was now running towards him, and upon nearing, realized that the person was Iggent. Samari smiled at finally finding a man purring in delight. But then she frowned, shaking her head as she realized that Samarsk's lust was overpowering her sense of reason. Now, panic started to set on Samari, this was her Samarsk's Maiden Run as well as her First Time. She didn't know what to do. When she finally reached Iggent she tried to tell him that this would be her first time but words did not pass her open mouth and she looked up at him clutching as his clothes her wide open eyes staring up at him beseechingly as her need to be rational and Samarsk's need to mate churned through her.

Iggesk heard Samarsk's challenge and trumpeted his reply as she took off into the shallow water of the lake. Strecthing his wings out and leaping into the air. Iggesk managed a single roll before landing heavily in the water with a tremendous splash. The Bronze recovered from his stunt fairly quickly and was off chasing the pretty Gold again with all his speed.
He entered the woods close behind her but had to swerve away a couple of times to avoid colliding with the many trees that littered his path. Iggesk weaved between the obstacles with expert skill and precision. The Bronze was used to ducking and weaving. His handler was an ex-thief after all.
---
Iggent nearly staggered back as Samari collided with him and clutched at his clothing. He could tell from the look on her face that this was most likely her first experience with a wher Run. Iggent smiled down at her and reached up to stroke her hair slowly. This may not have been his first, but then again, his wher's Runs had never ceased to have an affect on him.
"Perhaps we should go somewhere more private."
Iggent managed to get the words out through his wher's emotions. Iggesk really liked Samarsk, and that was only fueling the desire created throughout the run.

Samarsk saw as she was looking back how well Iggesk did as he weaved between obstables and she rumbled a purr of appreciation as his expert sill and precision. Definitely better than her in that aspect. Turning her head to look in front of her, she saw that she had a clear line uphill towards the feeding grounds. With a burst of speed, Samarsk fairly flew as she ran back up the hill. This was costing her energy and she knew that she would need to stop pretty soon. Maybe a climbing expedition will be her last obstacle. Once again she looked back to see how fast Iggesk would run up the hill.
Samari felt as Samarsk labored to run uphill. She was panting and once more sweating as if she herself had ran uphill. But she once more purred in appreciation as she felt her hair being stroked by Iggent. She leaned her head more towards him inhaling his scent, as her hands now tried to seek his flesh beneath the clothes that he wore. At Iggent's suggestion, she just nodded while still trying to get her hands to feel his skin. Having gotten more used to Samarsk's roiling need, Samari said in a broken whispered speech, "Yes ...... good idea. ... Your's or mine ... doesn't matter. Just ... private." as she tiptoed and attempted to kiss him.

Iggesk flapped his wings to help boost him up the hill and reserve leg strength for however long Samarsk had left in her Run. The Bronzes wings picked up on the slight updraft that was blowing his direction and half hopped half ran the rest of the way up the hill. Samarsk had begun to puul away at one point, but Iggesk put on an extra burst of speed to keep up with the Gold he desired so much.
---
Iggent allowed Samari to kiss him and even pressed his lips a little against hers. The young handler also seemed to be trying to get under his clothes. He didn't mind so much at the moment, but since they were out in the open, Iggent decided to take Samari's suggestion. The Bronze handler held out his hand and waited for Samari to grab it so he could lead her to his room. He would have gone to hers in order to make her more comfortable, but he didn't know where that was. He wasn't in the mood to wait either.

If a wher could laugh, Samarsk would have as she saw how ingenious Iggesk had been in half-hopping and half-flying up the hill why she only ran and used up her needed energy. She should have thought of it herself but she was more consumed with running than anything else. Besides, the wind felt good. As Samarsk ran past the feeding grounds and spooking all the animals there, she decided that instead of climbing, she should fly in the nightsky instead. So, unfurling her wings, she gained speed and altitude, and with a tremendous flap launched herself up into the sky. She flew low just barely skimming the ground and finally landed back at the weyrbowl in the spot where she started her Run. Now she waited for Iggesk crooning with excitement and anticipating what obviously came next. Samari grabbed Iggent's hand and let him lead her. She could feel that Samarsk was now ready to mate for she felt excitement and anticipation down their bond. Now she noticed how sensitive her skin was as her clothes rasped against her and couldn't stop a moan of pleasure escape her lips. She could feel her body also anticipating to mate and wondered how far they would have to go. She very much did not want to do the deed out in the open for everyone to see. (OOC: You can go ahead and strip her naked yourself. I doubt if she will be focused enough to do it herself although she'll be itching to be naked. And then, just fade to black when it finally comes to actually doing the mating okay. ^_^ And that should end the Run. Yippee. )

Iggesk breached the top of the hill and leapt over and through the animal pens. His wings had been tired a little by the trip up the hil, but that didn't stop him from indulging his new soon to be mate a little by tensing his powerful legs and rocketing into the sky after the beautiful Gold. Iggesk noticed that Samarsk stopped Running at the beginning spot of her Run, and sprinted over to her. He was ready to Catch her. Iggesk was ready to make the Gold his.
---
Iggent finally made it to his room and led Samari inside. Once they were both within the confines of his room, Iggent kicked his door shut and flipped the lock. He didn't want anyone interrupting him. Slowly Iggent made his way over to where Samari was standing and pulled her into a fierce kiss. As he kissed the magnificent young woman, he propelled both of them towards the bed until they had tumbled onto the soft surface. Once he had her beneath him, Iggent proceeded to run his lips over her face and neck in feather light touches and rough nips.
