Name: Doctor Lorelei Cypress
Often nicknamed 'Lore' as a pun because of her near-infinite useless knowledge of ancient myths and legends.
(Yep, she has a Doctorate, and a PHD. Three, actually. Which makes her age that much more terrifying.)
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Up. (No, really, that's her answer. However, as for her true sexuality...she's open to just about anything, but she's never stopped or had time to consider her options until now. So it's anyone's guess.)
Appearance: Sciency. She's sort of skinny, in a very nerdy way, with pale-tan skin that's startlingly free of freckles despite the amount of time she's spent in the sun poring over excavation sites, though she's got a near permanent faint sunburn on her shoulders and cheeks. Her eyes are a bright sea-green, very colorful and expressive. She normally wears contacts, but she always has on her person what others fondly call her brainy specs; thick glasses she only pulls out when she is making serious business of examining something, or if she's about to launch into a nerdrant.
Her hair is thick and black, with red highlights that are in fact entirely natural- it's rarely tamed, and the loose curls fly out and leave little wisps sticking out everywhere. She sometimes ties it back, but it'll spring free and muss up within a few minutes anyway.
She favors loose and comfortable clothes; during her siesta to the Middle of Nowhere, Australia, she mostly had tank tops and button-down shirts to wear over them, and big hats, and cargo pants. She also tends to wear short cargo shorts with a strange waist wrap over them- it was a gift from her little sister, and wears sort of like a half-sided skirt.
Picture:
This is her "You blaspheme the name of science!" face. Or her WTF face. They're roughly the same.
History: Archaeologist/Anthropologist/Historian/Professor of Ancient Mythology (Sumerian Specialty)... Australian. An Australian native from a really tiny little town with no important name (Glaston Hill) she lives with her younger sister currently. Her family is nothing exceedingly special, a mother and a father in Glaston Hill, and her sister Selene, who is living in Lore's flat until she graduates college.
Lorelei has always been bright, taking a full load of college courses at the community college during high school, which resulted in her graduating High School a month before she graduated college. She then went on to study at a major university in England- Oxford- where she pursued three PhDs at once- in Anthropology, Archeology, and History (focused in Ancient Mythologies with a specialty in Sumerian myth.)
She does work some semesters as a Professor of History at the local College now that she's moved back to Australia, though she's frequently gone for long periods of time to visit archaeological digs, pursue further research, travel, and, most recently, to set up camp in the middle of the Australian wilderness to: A- Be alone, B- Enjoy the quiet/nature (she used to go camping/hiking with her father a lot) C- Work on her book. No, not a novel, a book. She's writing a Historical journal on the myths and legends revolving around dragons and mythical creatures in ancient myths, and how myths of dragons exist in every culture.
(Her sister is taking care of the house because she attends the College Lorelei teaches at, and because her older sister doesn't make her pay rent.)
However, a month or two into her siesta, she was off hiking just to clear her head, when she found vultures picking at something. Curious, she shooed them away only to find a strange nest. She saw the eggs and assumed snake at first, but the shell was too hard, and they were a strange color. She was going to leave them when she found a corpse nearby; a corpse that appeared to be that of a strange, large lizard. So, being bored and daring, she gathered the eggs, nipped into town in her jeep (a six-hour trip, mind you) to pick up an aquarium and a heating lamp, and waited to see what would happen.
Dragons happened. The eggs that hatched- for not all of them did- hatched into tiny, miniature dragons. Startled out of her mind, she instinctively fed them some of the broccoli-beef dish she was eating, and found herself with a lot of bizarre new pets. She gave them names (based of mythical dragon figures) and they began to become her closest companions. She took them home for a short trip during the winter, making her sister swear secrecy, then moved back to her cabin once the spring arrived to keep them hidden and to finish her work.
It was a couple months later, in late summer, nearly a year to the day she hatched her dragonettes, as she called them, that she was heading home just after nightfall when she caught sight of a blast of fire off in the distance. She hopped in her jeep and headed to the spot she thought the flame originated from, and found an unconscious man...and a big-ass blue dragon protecting him.
Lorelei fainted. When she awoke, they were both still there. The dragon was sitting by them both, with her dragonettes happily crawling all over him, curious to meet their big cousin. The informed her in their scatterbrained, disjointed way, that she needed to help this man, and the dragon. So she took them back to her cabin.
The man woke with no recollection of what had happened, nothing but his name- A'shan (odd name, she thought, but he insisted that it HAD to be said that way) and the dragon's name- Azulith. Through the next few days, Azulith attempted to draw multiple images in the soft soil by her cabin, and Lorelei got the gist; the man needed to find his way home. Not knowing what else to do, Lore looked up everything she could on dragons, and discovered rumours and some secret military files (don't ask, don't tell, she just ...'found' them. She's a conspiracy theorist; connecting the dots wasn't hard, and other Internet nerds were more than happy to give her information). The rumors said there had been sightings of dragons in the American Rockies.
So she headed home, packed a bag, and tried to figure out how to get a dragon across the sea; flying was out, too much of a distance.
Lorelei's brilliant idea? Freight crates. A large one, with air holes, and a shipping notice that it was live cargo, crocodiles, actually, to be shipped via freight ship with handler, to a recipient Veterinary clinic in the US. Azulith was not happy, but he complied, while A'shan was clueless. The mini-dragons stayed with Azulith- the blue was not pleased.
Once reaching the US- New York- Lorelei rented a truck, and they drove to the Rocky Mountains. When they thought they were close- the dragonettes told Lorelei there were 'otherbigshinycolorfulones' nearby- they dumped the truck, headed into the wilderness, and let Azulith fly them all into Rocky.
With no warning, and no explanation, they arrived. And the only one who could possibly explain couldn't, because Azulith was unable to speak to anyone.
Wanted Firelizard Color: HAH. A lot. See below.
Wanted Dragon Color:We shall see if she's eligible for any creature other than her firelizards.
Wanted Firelizard Name:...She's got a couple. How many? Up to You guys. I'm hazarding between three and five, as survivors of the mid-sized clutch she found?
I'll throw them out there though, along with what I wish for as a color match.
(Just Seven so you can choose what you like, or go with all of them. That'd be...interesting.)
Females: Tiamat (???Goldplz?), Naga (Green) Tatsu (Green), Scylla ()
Males: Apsu (Bronze/Brown) Bahamut(Blue/Brown), Ryuu (Blue)
Wanted Dragon Name:If she ever gets one, Seriyuth (Male) or Einganath (Female)
FYI: The flits are all the same age, and all roughly 1year old, born in Late summer/early fall. (August 24)
List of Flitters: Lore's 'Flock'
3 green, 1 blue, 2 brown.
Green Tiamat: The self-styled leader of the flock. She's bossy, loud, and can be quite the little demon when she doesn't get her way. She tends to throw tantrums and make a lot of noise, all the time. She has a biting habit, too, so watch your fingers. Or ears. Or noses. Or cats. She will only tolerate Lore handling her when she's in a mood, or occasionally Apsu, who she loves dearly, and fawns over constantly.
She's a deep jungle green with dark shading on her spine and wings. Tiamat is also a large green, almost exactly the size of Apsu. She's not built like a blue though, with her body perfectly green. She has a slightly stubbier muzzle than the others, and her teeth hang over her upper and lower jaws like a sabretoothed cat.
Named for the Sumerian/Mesopotamian Dragon of the saltwater, and the mother of all monsters.
Green Naga: A wise and surprisingly intelligent green. Naga acts as the flock's mediator, and loves to explore and loves milk very much. She's the most mature of the flits currently, at least in how she acts. She likes to be the sort of babysitter, too, often checking up on those she's adopted, from the rest of the flock, to Lore, to A'shan, to Azulith. She likes to organize, and always knows where to put things that get misplaced. Like a little maid, actually.
She's a somber dark gray-green, with a sort of weathered pattern in pale yellow-green on her belly, muzzle, and lower half. She's a largeish green, but nothing spectacular. She's elegantly proportioned, with an incredibly long and whippy tail that is nearly twice her own length, and a long nose that looks like she should have strict librarian glasses on it.
Named for the Hindu/Buddhist Serpent Deities.
Green Tatsu: The 'baby' of Lorelei's flock. She's cute, sweet, loves to cuddle, and loves attention. She enjoys preforming tricks for people, and loves to sing nonsense songs with Lorelei. She's a fan of pretty colors, too, and really loves things like scarves, often pouncing on them like a kitten. She also likes to hide things, especially important things.
She's a light green, with an almost teal tint to her, with mint-pale markings on her back and claws that sort of resemble a pattern of fur. She is a petite and tiny green; though full grown she still is dwarfed by every other green. She's the runt of the litter, and always seems a little baby-ish: big feet, clumsy tail, a little awkward, but adorable.
Named for the Japanese word for 'Dragon'.
Blue Apsu: A quiet and noble blue who acts as second in command to Tiamat, though he knows she could walk all over him. He's content to let her have her fun, and when she's done, he'll be the one to calm her down if her temper flares up. He's a real licker, and had a habit of grooming the other flock-mates of his frequently, and if not them, then Lore's ear. Or any random passerby.
He's a sweet pale teal-blue, with darker turquoise markings on his back and wings. He very much is a blue, with long wings and a sleek body, reminiscent of a fish, but he's on the small-to-average side of the size chart. He's the same size as a large green.
Named for the Sumerian/Mesopotamian Mate of Tiamat, and the god of the Freshwater.
Brown Bahamut: This brown seems very serious and no-nonsense, and he is. He's the muscle of the flock, and he likes to be active all the time. He really fun to play with, and he loves games, especially fetch. He likes to see how much he can carry, and you'll often see him marching merrily along with strange objects just to prove he's big and strong. He also tends to leave weird towers of weird things in weird places. Like the back tank of the Weyr's toilets.
He's a normal brown, with markings on his wings that shade toward gray, and darker gray-brown speckles all over like he had scales. He's a chunky brown, with a short, wide tail and large broad wings. The biggest of the flock, and he's got a scar on his nose from tangling with a scorpion when he was littler. He has a rounded muzzle that's shorter than average.
Named for the Sumerian/Mesopotamian Fish-deity-creature.
Brown Ryuu: This little guy is weird. He's the real leader of the flock, and he knows it. He's got a strange obsession with shiny circular things, and it almost always seen with a small false-pearl ring around his neck; a 'gift' from Lore. But he's very smart, and has even figured out the mechanics behind tic-tac-toe, though he's not very good. (But Lorelei cheats.) He is always one to bring order to the flock, and none of the others dare ignore him if he wants them to do something. He helps Naga organize, and the pair of them can frequently be seen re-arranging Lore's desk.
He's a dark brown, with coffee-cream colored markings down his back, and at his elbows and heels. He's also got almost gold-tinted markings on his face that resemble whiskers on a cat. He's long and slender, like a cheetah, with a long middle in comparison to most, and really long headknobs that make him look like he almost has horns.
Named for another type of Japanese word for 'Dragon'.

Blue Jezereth
Dragon Name: Jezereth
Color: Blue, #081447 Markings #364794
"Proud, Snobbish, Social, Classy"
- Hatchling Size: Four Feet
- Adult Size: Twenty-five Feet
- Markings: Wing membranes and toes are a different color than the rest of the hide.
Hatchdate: April 2011 (Need to find Exact Date)
Parents: Green Jadavath, of Gregory, and Brown Zedoreth, of L'gar
Hatching Scene: The Hatching of Night and Day
Jadavath's eggs seemed overly active. It was as if they were making up for all the eggs of Crucith's that had hatched before them. A small egg was rocking with a slow almost patterned pace, while a slightly larger egg toppled over from the insistent yet rhythmic beating it was sustaining from the inside out. Both eggs began to crack and split at exactly the same time. The smaller egg finally toppled and smashed into the larger one, shattering the shells.
As the two eggs collided two graceful forms seemed to emerge in almost perfect sync without any sort of tangle or mishap even though they had hatched on top of the other. Green and Blue both stood side-by-side looking regal and beyond clumsiness. The way they moved also belied their young age because the way they seemed to glide gracefully rather than stumble about as a hatchling should. Only as they got close to the candidates did they part ways and head to their separate bondeds.
---
The Blue sauntered through the many candidates that gazed upon him in awe, but he ignored them all. All of them save one. She stood there with an almost fierce determination, and it drew the Blue to her like a moth to a flame.
You there. Why do you stand so proud? Is your pride strong? What about your will? Your Jerezeth will expect nothing less than perfection from one I have put my pride in. Lorelei, I have decided to be proud of you for you were chosen by me. That is no small feat.
Sitting so that he could gaze imposingly up into her face, Jerezeth studied his new bonded for a moment.
Yes, you will do well by me. However I hunger and would appreciate a meal.
