Loren is an interesting looking young woman. Her skin is a rich, deep mocha color, and her hair is raven black and waved, rather than being curled. Almond shaped eyes are set rather deep, either side of a nose that reveals, clearly, African origins...but her skin is not quite dark enough, nor do the rest of her features show that that is the only thing in the mix. She wears her hair just above shoulder length.
In height, she is small by anyone's standards. If she is wearing shoes, she might reach five foot. On a good day. Her build is slender, although the muscle she carries might cause her to weigh, on the scales, a little more than she appears. Her form is overall quite boyish...narrow breasts and small hips. She has a pleasant soprano voice, which seems to have acquired a New York accent somewhere along the line.

Base Personality:
Loren is quiet and businesslike, often coming over as the consummate professional. That, or shy. Hard to tell which. She does not make friends easily, and does not seem to want to; she's a very independent and self-contained person more likely to rely on her dragon than anyone human.
Fortunately, she lacks the defensiveness shown by some people who have had to deal with being a minority, but rather tends to go through life expecting to be treated the same as everyone else. She has a great love of flying and is very likely to be one of those who has to be grounded by all but physical force should it become necessary (and she also has a tendency to continue to push herself when hurt or sick).
She thinks decisions through, however, and is generally not prone to recklessness.
History:
A person's history can start a good way back. Perhaps the best place to start was when Lincoln Thomas joined the military. For him it seemed a good escape...he wasn't tall enough to make a good basketball player and he never did care for football. Yeah. Lincoln was an inner city kid, growing up in a not great part of New York.
The army got him out of that, then sent him to South Korea. Where his passes took him to...well, all the places designed to relieve a soldier on leave of his money and, if he somehow still has it, his virginity. One of these was a bar. A refined bar, a quite elegant one. There...he met Hei Ryung. She was emphatically not a prostitute. She was a woman seeking an escape...the daughter of parents if anything even less well off than Lincoln's. And it was not unknown for young Korean women who lived near an army base to seek the attention of the soldiers.
She intended to catch one. She did not, perhaps, intend to get caught. A relationship that Hei had thought would be at best pleasant companionship turned into a genuine whirlwind romance. On his next leave, he took her home to his parents. They were married. Nobody really batted an eyelid when their first child showed up only six months after the wedding. The second, a boy, was a year later.
Two was enough, and Loren became...an army brat. The family was not sent overseas, but ended up serving on a base in the US, where Lincoln became a sergeant and an instructor in boot camp. She wanted to join the military herself.
Her father actually tried to dissuade her. With her grades she could choose any life she wanted. Besides, she was a woman, and the army was still not entirely equal. She wanted to fly helicopters. School was a means to an end. Boys were something she mostly ignored...her mother, in fact, became convinced she was gay.
She did not know, at that time, that something very strange was happening in the Rocky Mountains. Still, when she found out...when she found out that young volunteers were needed and that she might be suitable, she was entirely willing to go to the Weyr.

Woruth is of average size for a blue and a soft, almost slate color. Although very well put together, he might seem a little pallid at first sight, fading to grey in places. Despite this, he is a particularly attractive young dragon, of a somewhat stocky build.

Passive, listener, reflective
Even more quiet than his rider, Woruth is a typical blue in some ways. He is a good listener...both to other dragons and even, if they're willing to trust him, humans. Not just his rider.
He thinks everything through and never acts in a reckless manner. This might lead him to come over as a procrastinator, and his overall physical quietness is often mistaken for laziness.
